Mailboxes, what if purpose of "Archive"

MacBook Air, 10.9.4.  New mail messages usually pop into Archives, even before I read them.  But not always.  For example my Yahoo mail stays in the Inbox, and most Gmail goes to Archive.  Can people tell me what the usefulness of the Archive system is?  I'm inclined to get rid of it and have all mail go to the Inbox as I've done in the past.  How do I  do that?

Archive saves it so it isn't deleted when you delete an e-mail. Change it at the G-mail web site.

what is purpose of session variables in obiee and how to use it in obiee

whenever a user logs in, a session variable is initialized for that particular user.
The session variable can hold values such as Username, loglevel.
For example, if you have 10 obiee users and u want to set different loglevels depending on their roles, you can create system session variable LOGLEVEL which will be initialized dianamically depending on the initialization block.

  • What is purpose of common division?

what is purpose of common division? give
    some examples

    Dear Mr Raj,
Regarding common division let me try to offer an example:-
A petrol pump offers both petrol and diesel, of  different grades and brand names.
There are certain pumps that are located inside cities, that do not have much diesel sales, and so confine themselves to selling petrol.
There are other pumps, located on highways that cater solely to large commercial vehicles, that are run exclusively on diesel.
Both products are supplied from the same depot of a petroleum product refiner.
Vehicles from depots to the pumps, may carry either one or both of the products, concurrently, for delivery at the same or at different pumps, from the point of view of optimally utilising the capacity and similar services of the vehicle.
Both the products are defined as different divisions, within the respective material master.
To cater to such a scenario, the provision of common division is used, where one of the products is used as common division, say petrol for both petrol and diesel.
    It practically works as follows:-
A common sales order may be entered for both the products indented together by the same pump.
A common billing document would be generated.
This is as far as convenience of order entry and billing go.
Further, in case of pricing, terms for local levies like octroi can be set up together bringing down the maintenance of pricing conditions.
Trust this serves to illustrate the use of common division for order entry and pricing.

  • What is purpose of having an iTunes Library when I already have purchased apps?

I am new to the Apple ecosystem, so please pardon my ignorance here. I am using iTunes on Windows desktop, but I have the same problem on my Mac laptop.
I have some apps purchases that show up when I am in iTunes and select  Purchased or Apps.
But when I select the option of My iPhone Apps at the middle top of the screen, or select My iPad Apps, the list of apps is empty. Yet, I clearly have purchasesd some, because they show up under "Purchased."
And when I run the Apps app in my iPhone, it shows the purchased items that are NOT on my iPhone but are ready for downloading to my iPhone.
So, this is making me wonder: What is the purpose of having an iTunes Library for storage or syncing, when I could use the Purchased list?
Am I misunderstanding the reason for having the Library?
    thanks

So, it sounds like I should move them to the iTunes Library for both my iPhone and my iPad. I found that if I click the app, it appears in the library. Among the apps that I have purchased, there are some apps that I don't want anymore. So I assume that I should NOT click (i.e. move) those to the Library, right?

  • What are the best archiving methods for small colleges?

    Hi Folks,
Im thinking a few terabyte hard drives will be my best option for a hundred dollars each.
We have a small operation here at a New England college with two editing systems that get a good amount of student use and use by myself for college needs. Some of the student work will get deleted at the end of each semester, but I need to save all the college's video.
What are the best ways to archive? Some of my concerns are cost and space. I can afford a few externals, do any of you have a nice cheap solution?
I understand if I am to go the route of archiving on externals I should have a backup of my backup, do any of you guys have any feedback on ghosting your backups, is that common?
    thanks
    Mike

If it's JUST for backup (not operation), you can get bare drives and either an enclosure for 1 or 2 drives with no tools trays (like the ones from Sansdigital: about $120 for a 1 drive enclosure) or a device like the UltraDock from Wiebetech (I use the latter). Physically install (or connect in the case of Ultradock) a bare SATA II 3.5" drive, connect it via USB 2, Firewire, esata, initialize/erase it, and then copy your files.
Then store the drive carefully in the foil anti-static bag it came in a dry location where it won't get jostled about by errant students (or kids in my house).
The savings in not getting full drive enclosures in the cost of multiple power supplies and interfaces. You pay for that once with the mountable enclosure / drivedock, and thereafter, just buy bare drives.
I also like another reply: have the students provide drives on which to back up their projects. A friend of mine has a ProTools audio studio, and part of his "set up" charge, is $100 for a bare drive that he will archive for 5 years, or the client can take with him at the end of the project (when the bill is paid).

  • Outlook 2013 cached mode "mail to keep offline" - does this setting affect archive mailbox or Office 365 hosted archive mailbox?

I have an Exchange 2013 Hybrid environment with Exchange 2007 in coexistance mode as well as Office 365. We are hosting the majority of our Exchange accounts on-premise (migrating them from 2007), and most (soon to be ALL) Archive mailboxes in Office 365.
I have through Group policy set the policy "Select Cached Exchange Mode sync settings for new profiles" to 6 months. This works fine for the contents of the regular mailbox, but the setting is NOT being set at all for the Online Archive mailbox,
whether or not it is hosted on-premise or in Office 365. Is this the expected behavior?
Another question: Is it possible to have the regular mailbox in cached mode and the archive in Online mode or vice versa?

    Hi,
The key to your questions is: Archive mailboxes are online only, they cannot be cached for offline viewing, so you can keep your regular mailboxes offline(In Cached Exchange Mode) or Online, but cannot switch Archive mailboxes to Offline.
The whole idea of the archive mailbox is to keep your "online" mailbox with recent / important mails small and accessible on and offline. The archive mailbox is intended to store older / less important emails which are not neccessary to access immediately.
One important reason of archive mailbox is to prevent the growth of offline files.

  • Whats the purpose of the web.xml file?

    Hi
What is the purpose of the web.xml fle?
and does it have any impact on deployment?
I get this msg when I am compiling .
    ignoring C:\JDeveloper9iRC\jdev\mywork\MIS_IntranetWS\mis_intranet\public_html\WEB-INF\web.xml; not on sourcepath
I cannot deploy but for what reason I don't know. Am wondering if this is related at all
    Thanks

The web.xml file is the standard deployment descriptor for a J2EE web application (or "web module" when it is part of a J2EE Application). The full details of what the web.xml is for is described in the Servlet 2.2 spec (if you're using J2EE 1.2) or the Servlet 2.3 spec (if you're using J2EE 1.3). You can download the Servlet spec from http://java.sun.com/products/servlet/download.html
The web.xml file is used when deploying a WAR file to a J2EE app server. However the message you cite isn't indicating a deployment failure. When you get a deployment failure, you should see a message in the JDev Log Window indicating the reason for the failure. Be sure the Log Window is visible by selecting View | Log Window from the main menu.

  • Import/Export mailbox - what is included by default?

Hello! I think this is unclear in the documentation:
Will a new export request export the complete mailbox by default? Included contacts, calendar, online archive?

    Kthxbai

    Hi Kthxbai,
The cmdlet below can take all folders and data in each and export it into the specified PST file. Also note that things such as the dumpster now can and by default will be exported.
    New-MailboxExportRequest –Mailbox HEW –FilePath \\Ex02\PSTFiles\HEW.pst

  • What does cannot decompress archive mean and how can I fix it?

I am setting up 16 iPads in a cart.  I have installed the configurator and was ithe process of "preparing" the iPads.  After about 2 hours, all the preparations ended and each iPad had the same error...cannot decompress archive.  Does anyone know what this is referring to and if so, how can I fix it?

Also check that you haven't enabled SSL 2 and that SSL 3.0 and TLS 1.0 are selected.
    * Tools > Options > Advanced : Encryption
You can check the <b>ssl</b> and <b>tls</b> prefs on the about:config page.
If any ssl or tls pref is bold (user set) then right-click that pref and choose "Reset" to reset the pref to the default value.
Use the Filter bar at the top with this regular expression:
    *<b>/security.*ssl|security.*tls/</b>

  • What is this new 'Archive' folder?

    Hello,
Can anyone explain what the new 'Archive' folder is and how it works?
    Many thanks,
    JC

    Hi! Thanks for the reply.
That sounds like a great idea. At the moment, I have dozens and dozens of folders that I file mail away into - but it's a bit of a pain. Presumably I could do away with them and stick everything in the Archive?
It doesn't empty itself, like Junk or Trash does after a set period of time, does it?

  • What are different Data archival approaches available in SharePoint 2013?

I want to know what are the different Data archival approaches available in SharePoint 2013 apart from Record Management?

Record center is the best template available for data archival.
You can also use IRM for Data Archiving
Also I would suggest you to use BLOB stoage which will reduce addional burden on SQL server:

  • Whats the purpose of the 32gb SSD that came with my u410?

    A few days ago i purchased a u410, I love it ! It came equipped with a 750gb HDD and a 32gb SSD.
First off, what is the purpose of the small SSD?
Second, I was thinking of performing a clean windows 8 install from a retail disk, to remove some the bloatware and such.
Would this be a bad idea?
Thirdly, can i install the OS to the SSD for a speed boost, and then map the other program files and user files to the HDD? Would this actually give me a speed boost?
I have also read that maybe the SSD is for a cache drive, but i dont quite understand this concept. I have looked around for a few hours now and cant find much information on this, so i'd appreciate if someone could shed a little light on the subject.
    Thanks!!!

The SSD is mainly used for Intel Smart Response Technology. SRT is shortly defined as using the SSD to preload program cache files in the SSD so that when you launch a program or boot Windows, you experience the speed of SSD without having the OS on the SSD. That SSD space is not enough to support the OS along with all of its Windows updates and driver updates. You can search using Google about Intel SRT and how to set it up if you are reformatting and reinstalling Windows.
