Mailing list splitting in Outlook Express

Because we seem to now be limited to bulk emailings to 50 addresses maximum, I need to split a current mailing list into 3 parts - 1-50, 51-100, 101-129.
Is there a quick way of doing this or do I have to laboriously set up 2 new Groups, say "Concerts 51-100", "Concerts 101-129" and delete entries 51-129 from the current group "Concerts", and add them manually, one by one into the new groups?
BT you are a PITA for imposing this restriction.

I would have said Windows 7 before 8.1 came along. However Windows 8.1 can be customised so that:
All Apps can be made the default
Desktop apps come first on the Start Screen
Start Screen shares the desktop background
You can boot direct to Desktop and
There's now a button for the Start Screen
Some of the above won't make much sense to people who haven't played with Windows 8, but these changes in 8.1 make the experience much better in my opinion.
Short answer: Windows 8.1.

OUTGOING MAIL NOT WORKING IN OUTLOOK EXPRESS AGAIN

This verizon email system is horrible. Right now I have not changed any of my settings but for some reason verizon yahoo email has decided not to send out any of my outgoing email settings.
My outgoing STMP is set at: outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
port: 25
I have the the correct username and password. If I go onto yahoo verizon from my browser it will let me send mail.
It just decided to stop working with Outlook Express today. Seems like once a month there is some kind of problem with this verizon crap.

Just to make sure, check to see if these settings are the same in outlook express
Incoming server = incoming.verizion.net (or incoming.yahoo.verizon.net if you have the yahoo portal partner)
Outgoing server = outgoing.verizon.net (outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net with yahoo partner)
do not check the "use SSL" check box
Make sure that your username does not have the @verizon.net extention.
make sure that your password is correct
Make sure that you check the box in more settings that says "my outgoing server requires authentication" and put a dot in the radial button that says "use the same settings as my incoming server"
check the advanced settings and make sure that the outgoing port number is port 587
Make sure that none of the "SSL" check boxes are checked.
if all that is correct it should be working

Moving emails from Mail on Mac to Outlook Express on Windows...

Can anyone help me with the following scenario?
I have one Mac computer, with 2 accounts set up on it - one for me, one for my wife.
My wife just recently got a Windows 'netbook' and now wants to transfer her entire Mail.app InBox to the new PC. There's no need to copy the Address Book (copied on a mobile phone already), and she doesn't really need the Sent Items or anything like that. All that she's interested in copying over is all the emails that are in Mail.app's InBox.
The netbook has Windows XP on it, and Outlook Express.
Bear in mind that there are hundreds of messages, so anything that involves saving/exporting each email individually one by one is not really an attractive option.
Also, a fair amount of the emails will have attachments, so any method that supports retaining the attachments is welcomed.
I know the Mac OS and all its apps like the back of my hand, but I must admit to being a total noob when it comes to Windows.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

UPDATE: I do have Entourage 12 (Office 2008) on my Mac too, which is currently not used at all, if this can be used for any intermediary steps.

I'm fairly sure you would be better off avoiding Outlook Express in favour of Mozilla Thunderbird, I have a Windows XP X64 PC that I used as my main pc before buying my MBP and used Thunderbird on it, when I got my MBP I remember moving the emails across was very easy, Mail.App and Thunderbird use a similar file structure, I'm sure I just dragged and dropped whole directories across (it is some time ago though).

BTW Thunderbird can be installed on OSX and Windows, so you can move all the emails over on the mac, check them with Thunderbird, before installing TB on your windows pute.

I had a PC and used outlook express as mail software.
I have copy the outlook express database (files .dbx like address.dbx, inbox.dbx, ...) on my new mac and I want to import all my files and messages.
How could I do this.

I already tried it. I used File/Import a mailbox ..., then "Mail" offer me to choose the software I used, and I had the choice to run Mcrosoft Entourage, Outlook Express, ... and others.
Then I went to the place where I have stocked the .dbx files.
But mail seems not to be able to read it.
Do you know how to read .dbx librairies with Mail ?

I am using firefox 7.0.1, attachments will not open up on my yahoo mail, no problem with outlook express.

The new tab page (about:newtab) wasn't introduced until a later version of Firefox (iirc, ''Firefox 10'') , which is why that pref can't be found.

I need to use Outlook Express to apply for jobs and I either don't have it but when I try to send an e-mail on Outlook Express, it won't go through and gives me an error report.....I really need to be able to use Outlook Express to apply for jobs. Help!

When I try to apply for job and when I try to e-mail my resume' and Outlook Express comes up to reply to on, I put in my information, etc but when I hit send, it doesn't go through and says? POP and then error report and doesn't go through.

I can't provide a solution with or without the error message, but without an error message, you are making everyone guess at what you see. I have no idea what you see, and I think someone who might be able to help you solve your problem would need to know what that message says. Is "Outlook Express" (Windows Live Mail) your default email processor, if not what is?

Too large mail in Outlook Express

Hi all,
I have a problem with a too large mail in my outbox /Outlook Express.
I can't delete it, because the program is starting sending it when it starts up, the program get frozen and I can't do anything.
Have tryed restore to an earliere point, remove Outlook Express an reinstall.
Can somebody help me

Why don't you try disconnecting your Internet connection. This may delay things enough that you can stop the email in its tracks.

Using Outlook-Express from Reports without waiting in Outlook to confirm Mail

we want to use Oracle Reports for generating reports in order to mail it then with Outlook Express. This part works fine. But after generating Outlook Express waits for the user for pressing the button <send> to send the mail.
Does someone know how to generate und send in one step without confirming that means without push the button?

use the parameter batch=yes if u are using RWRUN60.EXE to generate the reports..
by the way, is there any way to specify subject line with out using the dialogue box or change the output file name while sending the output by mail...

Sending Photos in Windows Mail instead of Outlook Express?

I'm still using Photoshop Elements 5.0 but upgraded to Vista operating system and reinstalled PE 5.0. Now I have the default Windows Mail program instead of Outlook Express and I can't send photos in an email - I had no problems before.
I can select the photos to send, and can even select the contact I want to send to, but then I can't get the program to go to the next screens - it just sits there. Can anyone help?

Please try following things which might help to resolve your issue -
1) Try running the application as Administrator.
2) Right click the application exe and selectd properties. In the compatibility tab, select compatible with XP option.
Officially, Adobe does not support 5.0 on Vista. You would need to upgrade to 5.0.2 to run your application on Vista.
Please see if your problem is resolved.

How can I transfer Outlook Express / Windows Mail settings and contents etc, to Windows Live Mail?

As a system reseller and support provider, I know that this is going to be a major factor for many home users. I know that Windows 7 does not have a mail client by default, and I know that home users will be expected to install Windows Live Essentials.
Windows Easy Transfer doesn't transfer emails, contacts etc from OE/WM (although it will transfer Outlook).
Therefore, what is the easiest way to migrate from OE/WM to WLM?

Here is the complete transfer procedure from OE to WLM:
MAIL BOXES EXPORT
1. Go to Outlook Express > Tools > Maintenance Tab > Store Folder.
2. Make a note of its location and navigate to it. If you haven't moved it, it's here C:\Documents and Settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities\{GUID}\Microsoft\Outlook Express. You may have to show 'hidden' files in Folder Options to see it. Close Outlook Express.
3. Copy the whole folder (not just the .dbx files) to an external source. Remove any ‘Read only’ attributes via right-click > Properties.
As an alternative to 2 above, you could move the mail boxes to an ‘easier-to-get-at’ location, i.e. Open My Documents and create a folder named Mail Boxes. Now go to Outlook Express > Tools > Maintenance Tab > Store Folder > Change and type the location of the new folder, e.g. My Docs\Mail Boxes. Close Outlook Express. The store location is now easier to navigate to and it is not hidden.
CONTACTS EXPORT
Go to Outlook Express > File > Export > Address Book and select Comma Separated Values (CSV) > Export, select the fields you want or, for more safety, select all the fields and save it to an external device.
MAIL BOXES IMPORT
Go to Windows Live Mail > File (press Alt if the Menu Bar is not showing) > Import > Messages OE > Next > Browse to the location where they are stored and follow the wizard.
CONTACTS IMPORT
In Windows Live Mail > Click Contacts in the bottom left corner > Menus top right (or Alt+M) > Import > CSV (Comma Separated Values) and browse to the file you exported from Outlook Express.

What software or other magic do I need to get the address book with the group lists out of Outlook Express PC and into Mac's Address Book?
Tried Thunderbird -- that didn't separate the groups of lists nor did it bring over all the information.
Mac is an OS X 10.5.8

Misprinted link did not mail how can I erase from mail to be sent in Outlook Express

I tried to reply to an add on mwt.net but the mail came back. It is always on my send list and always returns to be sent again. This is on Outlook Express. It continues to be an error in my mail system. I want to delete it.

Firefox doesn't do email, it's strictly a web browser.
If you are using Firefox to access your mail, you are using "web-mail", seek support from your service provider or a forum for that service.
