Mailing Photos

I'm using Photoshop Album Starter Edition 3.2. I'm having trouble mailing photos with it that I didn't seem to have with the older editions.
Specifically, if I click on Edit/Preferences/Email it allows me to select an email client in a drop-down box. But it only has options for the Microsoft products Hotmail, Outlook Express and SaveToDisk whereas I use Thunderbird for email.
Do I need to do something to tell Album that other mail tools exist, or is this some deal with Microsoft to limit one's options?
Windows XP already understands that I use a different email program. If I click on a mail address link from within a browser, XP properly opens Thunderbird. Yet Adobe doesn't seem to know it exists.
Any suggestions to resolve this?
Thanks.
Bill

You can change the default email preference with following steps -
Setting Firefox's mail client
In Firefox, you can change how Firefox handles mail functions from within Firefox.
1. At the top of the Firefox windowOn the menu bar, click on the ToolsFirefoxEdit menu, and select Options...Preferences....
2. Select the Applications panel.
3. Search for the Content-type: mailto and select it.
4. Click on the Actions column in the mailto row, to change the action.

  • Aperture not showing up / displaying in Mail Photo Browser in Leopard 10.5

This is for anyone who upgraded to Leopard 10.5.1 and wanted to use Mail's Photo Browser to insert Aperture pics into mail messages. At first, it only displayed the iPhoto and Photo Booth folders in Mail's Photo Browser on my Powermac but I remember seeing it in the Apple store.
If you already generate previews in Aperture, this is pretty much a non-issue. But for me, it frustrated me for a long time. To make it work, the previews must be set in Aperture. I turned it off because it used up extra HD space.
In Aperture, you need to check the "Share previews with iLife and iWorks" under Preferences. Then decide which size and quality of a preview you want. The larger the size and quality, the better it will turn out when you use it in the photo browser. This dictates the image size and quality of what is imported into your Mail message. (I used the smallest size and a quality of 7, which gave satisfactory results without making the aperture library grow too much). I figured it I wanted to email a large, I could attach it separately via a standard export from Aperture. Don't go too low on the quality as it will not turn out very good.
Remember to go and generate previews for each folder or pictures, as those are the only ones that will show up in the Mail photo browser. The folders will show up but no pictures if you don't generate the previews.
It takes a minute before it refreshes in the Mail Photo Browser. Just play with the different settings and put them into your mail to compare the results.

I had a similar problem and what I found was that I had some corrupt .avi files. Once I removed them all was well. I had to create a new iPhoto library and hunt and peck. I would drag part of the old library into the new library then see if iTunes would see the photos - once it froze then I knew what part of the iPhoto library to look at.

  • My mac pro mail photo browser not opening

my mac pro mail photo browser not opening

I actually have it the other way thinking of my iDevices as windows into my mail and my MP as my main repository. I also set my devices to delete of server any mail I move from my devices inbox to minimize multiple deleting unwanted mail.
But the real issue was to be able to access all my stored mail on my MP when traveling. IMAP is a way to go, yes. But my concern, please educate me if I'm wrong, I have 6 email accounts. With POP I can drag any email from any account to the ame folder on my MP.
As I understand IMAP each account would have its own sets of folders. So where I have "Work" ot "ToDo" folder that hold all mail regardless of account, I couldn't have one folder "Work" and drag all mail to it because folders are created per account, per ISP (and I have multiple accounts from various ISPs).
So I'd have to have a Work folder for each IMAP account and have check each instead of one the way it's set using POP - ON MY MAC on my MP.
If I'm right abou this, then using a remote app like SplashTop 2 to use any device to login to my MP to read, reply, delete, store, then is a great solution since I'm actually working on my MP remotely. Only problem would be if I forgot to turn my MP on before traveling.
Am I on the right path?

  • Strange problem e=mailing photos

I have been sending some photos from my iMac to my wife's iPad.
Yesterday I sent 4, 2 arrived and 2 did not. They are shown as "sent" in my Mail system.
I tried again to day. I resent the 2 from yesterday and another one that she wanted.
The new one has arrived but the other 2 still have not appeared.
All the photos are about the same size, between 100 and 200kb.
I have logged in to her Webmail to check if they were there but for some reason the iPad had not downloaded them, but they are not there either!!!
    Any ideas?

After much fiddling about on Webmail and on her iPad, I have finally located the missing e-mailed photos.
They had for some reason been treated as Spam and were therefore not in the Inbox, but in the Spam folder.
That just creates a different puzzle, why were some of the photos treated as spam and the others - all sent from my iMac - appeared in the Inbox??
As a further complication I managed to send the original 2 that did not appear by first sending them to myself on my iPhone and then forwarding them from there to my wife's iPad where they arrived in the Inbox. !!!!

  • I have always been able to open e-mail photo attachments even after trnsferring them to the desktop or a thumbdrive, but after moving the last two

I have always been able to open e-mail photo attachments even after transferring them to the desktop or a thumbdrive, but after moving the last two to the desktop and trying to open them I get the message that ColorSync is unable to open files of this type. I believe they are jpegs.

When I attach a PDF to Apple Mail on Mountain Lion, it is an icon. When I send it to an iCloud mail destination, the attachment arrives and is presented as an icon, whether on OS X, or in IOS 6.
I suspect that the recipient's mail user agent is responsible for the full image .vs. icon behavior, and there is nothing you can do to prevent it.

  • I sent e-mail photos from iPhoto using my @me account but I do not find the history of sent e-mails in my new iCloud account. Where can I find the history of sent e-mails?

I sent e-mail photos from iPhoto using my @me account but I do not find the history of sent e-mails in my new iCloud account. Where can I find the history of sent e-mails?

Using iPhoto as the email client in iPhoto does not creatge a sent copy.  iPhoto indicates in the Info drawer if a photo was emailed by iPhoto (under the Sharing section):
There's no easy way to search for photos that have been emailed. Each photo has to be inspected via the Info tray.
One could add a keyword to emailed photos which would let a smart album keep track of those photos.
A better solution, IMO, is to set Mail as the email client (in iPhoto's General preference pane) and use it.  That will give you an sent copy, better access to your contacts and, if you want a theme, numerous photo themes under the Stationary section of Mail.

  • Mailing photos from iphoto through mail

When I mail photos from iphoto through mail, it sends the picture at very low resolution regardless of the setting I choose (small, medium, large, actual). How can I send photos to others at viewing or even printing quality? Can I resize the pictures to my specifications as I used to be able to do on my PC? Through ACDSee I could resize to 50% which would be small enough to send quickly but still high enough quality for the recipients to view and even print. Thanks!

After iPhoto has created a new Mail message have a look at the bottom right hand corner of the Mail Message window - there's another control there for sizing the pics... try play with that one to find the size you require.
You can access your photos for sending in Mail too. In the New Mail Message Window there's an icon on the toolbar that will show you your iPhoto library.

  • E-mailing Photos from iPhoto not working since moving to iCloud.

Since switching to iCloud, my iPhoto will not e-mail photos.  Says the e-mail server cannot recognize my username/password combination.  I am lost on this as I am using iCloud for e-mail just fine.

Many Thanks to you stoli412 for dealing with iApps team~
Anyway, I found out something by myself.
I believe that email setup failure seems to be appeared on only those who transferred from MobileMe to iCloud.
Which means that the one who newly joined iCloud.com account doesn't have any problem with setting up the account in iPhoto.
I tested it with my wife's iCloud account, because she just happened to be newly joined in iCloud.com.
Simply, it works fine! but when I switch the sending account with mine then error message again(Shoot!!)
I really hope iApp team could come up with something soon.
    Fingers Crossed, of course!
    cheers.

  • E-mailing photos from iPhoto through Entourage

I have iPhoto 2 and I am using Panther. When I e-mail photos from iPhoto through Apple Mail, the photos appear directly in the e-mail HTML. When I send them through Entourage, they only appear as attachments. How can I send photos from iPhoto through Entourage with the photos appearing in the HTML body of the e-mail?
    Thanks.

Since your question is about Entourage, you'll have better luck seeking the answer at the Mactopia forums, but I don't think Entourage works like Mail in this respect.

    Hello WayneSchlapkohl,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums!
I understand that you are looking to Email a scanned photo, but do not want the file to be to large. Are you using HP software when you get the error "not connected to the internet" ? If so, What is the Operating System installed, Windows, including version, e.g. Windows 7 or Mac, including version, e.g. 10.8?
Lowering the DPI or resolution will help keep the file size down, if you have an option for that in the software.
Also, what is the Email client are you using, MSN, Gmail, etc?
    Cheers,
    JERENDS

  • Lightroom 2 Catalog in Mail photo browser

Can I view pictures in my LR2 catalog from the photo browser in Mail?

I use Lightroom and I don't think you can see its library from the Photo Browser. I think the Mail Photo Browser is only locked to Apple products: the iPhoto library, and maybe Aperture's.
BUT, don't let that stop you. You can drag images out of Lightroom and drop them into a Mail message just as easily as using the Photo Browser, so just do that. Drag a picture out of the Lightroom grid mode and drop it into a Mail message. I think I might actually prefer this to the Photo Browser, because it isn't necessary to dig down through the Photo Browser to find it all over again when you can already see it in front of you in Lightroom. Just drag over what you can already see.
Just make sure you're dragging a mail-friendly file format. I say that because most people edit Raw files in Lightroom and chances are you want to put a JPEG in your mail message, not a raw file most people can't read. If you don't have JPEGs yet then use the Export command in Lightroom and use the option to automatically import those exports back into the Lightroom catalog. Then drag 'em over to Mail.

  • E-mailed photos not reaching destination

    Hi,
    E-mailed photos not reaching destination
    . Can you help?

    DCAINTLRE
If you have Premiere Elements, then your question relates to Premiere Elements via the Elements Organizer that comes with it.
And, as we know, Photo Email is an Elements Organizer feature found under the Elements Organizer Share/Photo Mail.
What version of Premiere Elements do you have and on what computer operating system is it running?
How far are you getting in the Photo Mail feature:
    a. Do you get your created photo mail and see the email with its active Send button ready for you to hit the Send button?
    b. If so, after you press the Send button, does the email appear to have been sent...even if you do not see a specific message saying
message sent? To verify that the message was sent, in the Elements Organizer Find Menu, go to By History/Emailed to to confirm
    the sending.
Have you checked with the recipients of your Photo Mail to make sure that your sending is not ending up in the recipient's email junk
folder? Have you troubleshooted by sending a Photo Mail to yourself?
What have you set up as Email Client in the Elements Organizer preferences?
Please review and consider and then let us know the outcome.
    Thank you.

  • Cannot e-mail photos to myself.

I have recently upgraded to Elements 12.  The program will not allow me to e-mail photos to myself.  The address is correct but it tells me to edit my preferences.  The 'preferences" are grayed out.
    What now??

You have to be in Organizer to change the preferences for sharing.  Launch the Organizer and then go to:
    Edit >> Preferences >> sharing
Enter your details in there.  Make sure you have selected whether you want to use Adobe servers or your own e-mail client such as Outlook, Windows Live Mail or Thunderbird.
If you use your own client then make sure it is configured correctly to send emails from it.
hope this helps but always post back if something isn't clear.
