Mailto link doesn't work - also mailto doesn't appear in options application panel

When I click a conventional mailto link on a web page, nothing happens. I have noticed that when I go to the Options/Applications Panel, Mailto is not listed as a content type.

I have been talking to Apple support about this very problem. So far they have asked me to disable both Firewall and Anti Virus software (Windows Firewall and ESAT NOD32 anti virus) - this didn't work. Rebuild my library - this didn't work. Un-install all Apple applications and re-install - this didn't work. I have created a second user account on my PC and from that account (both accounts set as Administrator) I can activate Genius. This suggests to me that the problem is possibly linked to my original User Account, which is the one I always use. I am waiting for the next update from Apple and will post an update if/when the problem is resolved.
What I also notice is about 2 seconds in to Step 2 of the Genius activation, the progress diagonal lines bar stops, and then starts again. As soon as I see this short freeze I know that the activation will fail.

I'm using FF 22 on a MacBook Pro running OS X 10.7.5. In Preferences>Applications I have set the app for mailto as Gmail. However, mailto links refuse to work. They generally open a blank tab. Gmail is also set as the default mail application for the system. That didn't help.

Create a new profile as a test to check if your current profile is causing the problems.

Classic 9 doesn't work because it doesn't have a system folder

Send link doesn't work and Mailto does not appear on the applications tab

After reinstalling Firefox twice (Tried two different versions) after my system crashed and then recovered, I got everything working again except the Send Link feature in Firefox. Reading through the forum, I tried to specify my mail program (Outlook) under Tools>Options>Applications; but found no Mailto option shown that I could select. I wonder if some service that this depends on got shut off when my system was recovered.

A mailto-link, i.e. mailto:[email address]?subject=[subject] in a PDF does not work anymore as it should be. Het whole mailto string is send to the TO-line in Outlook 2010.

Mailto links are not working. How do I set mailto: links to open in Outlook?

mailto: links used to open in Outlook. Then they began opening Gmail, so I uninstalled the Google Toolbar. Now mailto: links do nothing when I click on them. Mailto: link no longer works

After working tfor the years the code for adding a email link no longer works. What's going on? For example this piece of code worked fine for years <a href="mailto:[email protected]">Email</a>. Now when I try to use the link my email programs opens up fine but in the place where the email address goes it includes the the full mailto:[email protected] where the email address goes rather than just the email address.

Mailto links are inherently unreliable for several reasons:
The end user must have an mail client like Outlook installed on their device. Most webmail users don't need an email client anymore preferring to log-in to their accounts with a browser. If your end user has no email client, nothing will happen when they click the mailto link.
Spam. Email links are a neon sign for robot email harvesters who will bombard your inbox with unwanted spam mail.
People who use computers in public libraries, schools or community centers won't be able to use your mailto links.
For best results, use an HTML contact form with a server-side script that processes form data and sends it to your email address. Preferably a script that is secure and has built in spam prevention.

I upgraded to Mountain Lion and now Firefox doesn't work, also it asked to install Java to run Adobe Illustrator

I just upgraded my iMac from OS 10.7.5 to 10.8.3. Firefox was my default browser and has all my bookmarks. Now when I try to load a page, the content is all jumbled and doesn't display correctly. I just updated Firefox to 20.0 but it still doesn't work right.
Also, the first time after upgrading, Adobe Illustrator wouldn't start unless I installed Java. Isn't that the program that should be disabled because of security issues? Or has that been resolved?

I think I figured out Firefox, I went under Help > Troubleshooting Information > Reset Firefox.
I only have one account on my computer. Honestly I don't even really know how multiple accounts work. I've never played around with it. I already allowed Java - should I disable it?

FF5 mailto: links are not working.

I had viruses on my computer, so I cleaned it out and reloaded windows xp3. But now it's not recognizing my printer, hplaserjet 3200. The driver disk will not work also. I tried downloading it online. I'm getting zip files. Once i unzip it, it's giving me an error message. Help.

Scanner HP G2410 doesn't work and ligth doesn't move

I'm using the scanner G2410 in windows XP 32-bits, but suddenly it doesn't work. When I trying to scan, a short time later it shows me a message that says the scanner is not find it, that restart my pc, wait 60 seconds and connect it again. Also the ligth doesn't move. In the end of the message shows me the error number:
4,[(2,5,80004000b),(3,5,0)]
Even I try it in a pc with windows 7 64-bits but the same result.
Is my scan totally damaged? I will appreciate you help me.
