Mailto support

Best I can tell, it is not possible to email any content other than user-written notes from an ibook created in iBooks Author.
When text is highlighted and added to notes, the highlighted/copied text cannot be emailed--only the user-written notes.
What I would like to do is set up a button in each chapter that will generate an email (to the user) of some pre-written content, similar to a "to-do" list.  The user taps the button and the email is generated, similarly to user-generated emails in other apps--except that the content is pre-supplied.
I understand that this barrier is to protect copyrighted information from being illegally distributed. No argument there.
What would be a nice feature is if the author of the book could somehow designate limited content that could be sent through an email generated by the user.  The author supplies the content for the emails. The user taps a button and the email is generated.  Copyrighted material is protected, but the author and user gain a very useful feature.
Where can I submit this as a feature suggestion for iBooks Author?
Thanks,
DB

There is no barrier. Even with a DRM'd book, you can just take a screenshot of every page. The screenshot in the photo album can then be emailed or sent to a printer via AirPrint. From there, it's a matter of minutes to turn the whole thing into a PDF file or scan it with OCR software.
Audio and video in the book are not DRM'd, even if the book is, so you can just go into the bundle and pull out the audio and video.

How do I escalate this call? I have a card that is not working under warranty and you seem unwilling to answer my mails any more. I hate to be the bearer of bad news but you have to. This card must be fixed or replaced, and it would be nice if that happened sooner rather than later. Why am I doing all the chasing by the way, you're a big enough supplier to get this sort of thing right, aren't you?

Situation changed. Having restored settings to previous state after doing all the below, about a day later I now have no sound at all for no reason whatsoever. I have rebooted, re-checked all connections etc etc, sound has just disappeared in the middle of the day without changing anything. It was fine this morning and now it's completely silent and PC's been on all day. This card is definitely dead, what else would do that?!?!
Cheers,
Rob.

Hi,
OK, I can't test on another PC as I don't have access to one, and I really dohope this is the last set of tests incidentally. It worked, then it stopped one day. A complete reformat and clean driver install didn't fix it. Re-seating the card didn't fix it. Seems pretty straight forward to me the card has failed, and I do need it replacing.
I have however done everything else below as requested. If I select CMSS, I get no output for rear-left/rear-right using channel test. If I select CMSS2, I get output from the front speakers for rear-left/rear-right channels, but nothing from the rear.
If I configure to 5. and enable CMSS I get output from jacks and 3 (orange & green)of the soundcard in the left headphone earpiece.
Hear from you soon,
Rob.

Dear Rob
Thanks for your reply
Please test the soundcard on another PC(With different motherboard) Ensure onboard soundcard is disabled.
Run creative diagnostic test, any problems?
Go to device manager, is there any problem with soundcard?
Configure the speaker setting as 5..
Please enable CMSS and play MP3.
Use a earphone and connect to line-out of soundcard.
Any sound?
Now please try on line-out3, any sound?
Please verify the correct jacks you are connecting..
CMSS is an option that allows you to play your audio to all 5. speakers even if you are not playing a true 5. encoded audio file. For example, if the sound is a stereo sound, it will duplicate the front channels, and send them to the rear channels. Then it will mix the left and right signals to create a center channel. Turning CMSS on basically simulates
5. audio.
TO TURN ON CMSS IN Mediasource
. Open MediaSource (Start, All Programs, Creative, Creative MediaSource, Creative MediaSource Organizer).
2. There should be an EAX button underneath the Record button at the bottom of the screen, towards the left. Beside this button, there should be a small ellipsis button (. . .) that you can press. Click on this.
3. Go to the CMSS 3D tab and check the box next to "Enable CMSS 3D"
4. Place a dot next to either CMSS or CMSS2. Whichever sounds better to you.
It is important to remember that if you do wish to play a 5. encoded file, you will need to turn CMSS off. Otherwise you might not receive each discreet channel.

Hi,
Tried all that and still no joy unfortunately. Everything ok except output from rear-left and rear-right.
Always disable onboard sound nad have just reformatted XP and reinatalled with drivers from creative website, so I know installation is not corrupt and up-to-date. I also had this problem before re-installation of XP, so suspect hardware rather than software failure.
Have removed all traces of card/drivers and tried again and moved PCI slots with same results.

Dear Rob
Thanks for your reply
Rear center is fine in speaker test...
Anyway if you have test the speaker with another device and no issue for rear channels, there is no problem with speaker system now...
Please insert the soundcard on another PCI slot, and make sure it is firmly inserted. Please disable any onboard sound card if available through BIOS.
Go to Control Panel, Add Remove Programs and un-install all listings related to your audio card. Do not restart your computer when prompted so.
Go to Control Panel, and switch to Classic View. Click System, Hardware tab, Device Manager button and delete all sound cards entries in Sound, Video and Game Controllers as well as any previous sound card entries from the Device Manager.
Reboot the computer and cancel out of any driver installation if you are prompted. Insert the Creative Sound Blaster installation CD into your CD-ROM dri've. Exit from the installation wizard if it autoruns.
Click Start, Run and then Browse. Browse to Z:\Audio\Drivers\CTZAPXX.EXE, where Z represents the CD Rom Dri've.
Choose YES if you receive a prompt "Overwrite existing shared creative audio driver files?"
Select Driver un-installation for WDM drivers and click OK.
When prompted to restart, say No.
Click Start, Run, type MSCONFIG and press Enter.
Check the box next to Selecti've Startup and deselect Load Startup Items.
Select the SERVICES tab and select Hide All Microsoft Services.
Uncheck all results and click OK.
Browse to the C:\Temp folder and C:\Windows\TEMP (if it exists) - all files and folders in the temp folder need to be either deleted or moved to a new folder.
Browse to Program Files, Creative and delete the Sound Blaster Folder - if you get a file that won't delete, right click on the file, click Properties and clear all the attributes. The file should then be able to be deleted.
Empty the Recycle Bin, and reboot the computer.
If you wish to reinstall your software & drivers, do this now. For more information on how to install your product, please visit the Product Guide page for installation instructions. Otherwise, go to the next step.
Click on Start, Run. Type MSCONFIG and press Enter.
Select Normal Startup, and press the OK button.
Reboot the computer
Run creative diagnostic test, any problems?
Configure the speaker setting as 5.
TEST CARD WITH HEADPHONES
. Run speaker test
2. Plug headphones into the front out jack 3. Click on the speaker test button 4. In the headphones you should hear a voice for front left, and front right.
5. Plug headphones into the rear out jack 6. Click on the speaker test button 7. In the headphones you should hear a voice for rear left and rear right.
8. Do you hear sound from each channel?
Any sound from rear channels?

Detailed Problem Description:
Typical, following months of trying to get a replacement remote control cable for my inspire 6. 6700 the 2 rear speakers on the set don't play sounds any more. I have done a clean XP install to ensure no driver corruption, but no difference. It's not the subwoofer as I have a spare, unused sub and that gives the same results.
I have also checked all cabling, mixer/volume settings and nothing unusual is showing.
Of course, my audigy 2 card is my guess as the culprit, I can't be positi've though. All other speakers operate perfectly, can even hear background hiss through the rear-left and rear-right speakers which won't play sounds/music/games or anything at all. But when I select "Creative Speaker Settings" to test the channels individually, they don't play a test sound here either.
Any help greatly appreciated.

• Sending email using URL and URLConnection

I have been having trouble trying to send an email using URL.
I have specified the mail host using: mailHost = Options.getProperty("mailHost", "mail.myisp.com");
and tried to send the email using this:
try
try
URL u = new URL("mailto:"+recipient);
URLConnection c = u.openConnection();
c.setDoInput(true);
c.setDoOutput(true);
c.connect();
PrintWriter out = new PrintWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(c.getOutputStream()));
out.print("From:\"ME\" \n");
out.print("Subject: Stuff \n");
out.print("blah blah blah");
out.close();
catch etc. . .
I recieve the email with the subject line there, but the actual body of the email is empty. Anyone know what I have done wrong? This is part of a standalone application that was turned into an .exe with jbuilder9.

That worked, thanks!
Out of curious, why the surprise that it worked?
Its not that bad is it?Yeah, I didn't know that mailto: support was there either, is all. The blank line thing is just common in HTTP and sendmail so, I figured that would be the solution.
I don't know that it's bad... if it works. Generally, the JavaMail APIs are a more robust way of sending mail, but if mailto: URLs work, and it's simple mail, then I see no reason not to use it.

these are posts made by me and other users I have come into contact with. All my problems are also their problems, and some of them are very serious(AGP/PCI lock failing when FSB reaches 220 fsb etc, and as result a fried videocard and lost data). As stated on that MSI forum above customers are have having the greatest problems accomplishing a mere 10% overclock on very good cooling. This is just a sign that there are problems that really need to be worked out, especially when your other socket 754 boards are so good?
So plz look over the links listed and read them, plz do not send me a standard mailingreply back but for once just try and help your customers who have bought your product in good faith. The way it is happening now is that there are alot(yes we are talking 1000's)of users who are growing angry with the lack of support they are getting.
All this word of mouth can only be bad for your company, not adressing the real issues at hand only makes people more reluctant to ever buy MSI again. I and many other users would like to know when you hope to fix these problems with the K8N Neo platinum. You made such a good board in the Neo FISR-2 and it performs flawlessly up to 300fsb so why not the K8N cuz this one failes for some users even at anything over 218?
keep me posted on any updates and fixes that are coming soon, I have bios revision 1.1 as you see but so far none of the bioses around fix these major issues(referring here to the beta bioses, 1.13 and 1.2 beta 5 and 12).
Hoping to hear a positive reaction from you,

NOTE: there is a tiny percentage that the board might be defective & by contacting your reseller at an earlier time prevent your warranty being voided. Some resellers provide certain period of time for return/exchange, after that you have to either send the board to them for repair or you are on your own.??

So my question is, what is this W7030NMS.12C bios? When he says new bios, doesn't he actually mean beta??? Can someone clear this up for me. In the zipfile i got from them are two files,
W7030NMS.12C  --->> Which bios is this and how old is it? Does it fix temps, fix pci lock failure
AWFL833D.EXE  --->> Obviously the flash utility
If what they sent me is one of the bioses I spoke about in above quote(see : so far none of the bioses around fix these major issues(referring here to the beta bioses, 1.13 and 1.2 beta 5 and 12))then they don't do a good job of reading my actual mail;)
regards,
Capcom

Why are they so secretive about what they did in a new bios version, how can someone then know a thing??? I too would like to know what issues they have been adressing, but pretty soon I will start thinking the reason they don't say is cuz maybe they can't fix it:(:(

• Bug with Cyrillic-UTF-8 encoding in Outlook messages sent from iphone

Some time, during replay or forwarding mails, written in Cyrillic form iPhone3GS (iOS 4.0), iPhone send a format of the message UTF-8 and did not field the charset field.
In such case most of the windows client(Outlook, The BAT, Firefox) cannot recognize the message encoding automatically. Advanced clients have to use manual setting of the encoding.
In older iOS in iPhone2G i have't met such problem

• I'd like to know how to center my whole webpage, right now its aligned on the left...

I'm new to DW, but I managed to create a site: www.bemyconfidant.com
Its good, I like it but I would like it to be centered instead of it being aligned on the left (when I "maximize" my browser there's empty space on the right.)
Please, help!
Thank you

Try the following code  (I removed the template markup from the page, so I could work with it).  The page is now centered, however, there are areas that really need fixing to correct various elements that just don't sit right.  The main problem is the use of AP Divs for a layout - as already explained by Gary.  AP divs (or layers) should not be used unless you understand the pitfalls that may be associated with their use.
This may be worth reading:
http://apptools.com/examples/pagelayout101.php
Just another suggestion, that blinking text in the left sidebar is so 1990's  :-)  and does not really add any value to the page, except as a distraction.  People will keeping that text blink and not be able to concentrate on the actual content you are tryng to provide.  (seriously !).
Anyway here's the code to center the page, but you will need some refinement to make the whole page more cohesive.

• JDOHelper cannot be used in place of KodoHelper

Environment: _
kodo-jdo-3.0.0RC1 on Windows XP Pro SP1
Hi all,
I think we have found a bug regarding Kodo licensing and JDOHelper. I have a test case, based on Kodo's tutorial, which demonstrates this, available on demand.
As far as we can see, you have no other choice than using KodoHelper class, which will pick-up kodo.properties properly.
If you use JDOHelper class instead you get a license error - See stack below.
We feel this is a regression since using JDOHelper was working fine with Kodo 3.0 beta release.
Could you please confirm there is a bug here ?
I have modified the JDOFactory class in the tutorial to either use KodoHelper or use JDOHelper, based on a parameter:
PersistenceManager pm _ JDOFactory.getPersistenceManager (JDOFactory.KODO_HELPER);
or
PersistenceManager pm _ JDOFactory.getPersistenceManager (JDOFactory.JDO_HELPER);
In JDOFactory.java:
if ( mode __ KODO_HELPER ) {
/* Solution 1 : use KodoHelper.
* This is currently the only working solution._
factory _ KodoHelper.getPersistenceManagerFactory("kodo.properties");
} else if ( mode __ JDO_HELPER ) {
/* Solution 2 : use JDOHelper.
* This is the standard solution. But it does not work._
Properties properties _ new Properties();
properties.setProperty(
"javax.jdo.PersistenceManagerFactoryClass",
"kodo.versant.ObjectPersistenceManagerFactory");
properties.setProperty("javax.jdo.option.ConnectionURL", "jdodb");
properties.setProperty("javax.jdo.option.ConnectionUserName",
System.getProperty("user.name"));
factory _ JDOHelper.getPersistenceManagerFactory(properties);
Using KodoHelper we get the following:
[c:\myarea\dev\jdo\tutorial kodo]java tutorial.SeedDatabase
Created 5 new dogs.
Using JDOHelper we get the following:

Patrick-
Excuse the interruption, and if I am stating the obvious, but I don't
see a "kodo.LicenseKey" property in the Properties object that you create:
Properties properties = new Properties();
properties.setProperty(

properties.setProperty("javax.jdo.option.ConnectionUserName",
System.getProperty("user.name"));
factory = JDOHelper.getPersistenceManagerFactory(properties);
Are you expecting Kodo to pick it up from a kodo.properties file in the
CLASSPATH? If so, then that isn't the way it works: Kodo will only use
the kodo.properties file if you maually specify it. You need to include
the license key in your properties object.

This is exactly what I did! I reproduce the issue not only with Versant,

My guess is that Versant's ObjectPersistenceManagerFactory creates a new
JDOConfiguration with the loadDefaults option set to false. If you can
replicate this with JDBCPersistenceManagerFactory, we can continue
discussing this problem here. Otherwise, I would point you to Versant's
internal Kodo support system.

But my classpath does not change between my test using KodoHelper and
the one using JDOHelper. I use the same command window and run one test
after the other. So, why does KodoHelper find kodo.properties while
JDOHelper does not?
More over, kodo.properties is located in the directory where I have the
tutorial package. So, if it was a classpath issue, I would get a
ClassNotFound Exception when using tutorial.SeedDatabase. Which is not the
case.
I agree that using FileInputStream to load kodo.properties is a working
work-around. But the method I use should also work - and it used t work.
In the past, we have never been setting the license key in a property, in
the source code. It has always been picked up by kodo in kodo.properties.

This is not a bug as we use JDOHelper for most of our internal tests for
JDO compliance. My guess is that you do not have kodo.properties at the
root of your system classpath, and thus when you initialize your
properties object, there is no license key. Instead of setting
properties (in which case you should be setting the kodo.LicenseKey
property), try using a FileInputStream to load kodo.properties.

Hi all,
I think we have found a bug regarding Kodo licensing and JDOHelper. I
have a test case, based on Kodo's tutorial, which demonstrates this,
available on demand.
As far as we can see, you have no other choice than using KodoHelper
class, which will pick-up kodo.properties properly.
If you use JDOHelper class instead you get a license error - See stack
below.
We feel this is a regression since using JDOHelper was working fine with
Kodo 3.0 beta release.
Could you please confirm there is a bug here ?
I have modified the JDOFactory class in the tutorial to either use
KodoHelper or use JDOHelper, based on a parameter:
PersistenceManager pm = JDOFactory.getPersistenceManager
(JDOFactory.KODO_HELPER);
or
PersistenceManager pm = JDOFactory.getPersistenceManager
(JDOFactory.JDO_HELPER);
In JDOFactory.java:
if ( mode == KODO_HELPER ) {
/* Solution 1 : use KodoHelper.
* This is currently the only working solution.
factory = KodoHelper.getPersistenceManagerFactory("kodo.properties");
} else if ( mode == JDO_HELPER ) {
/* Solution 2 : use JDOHelper.
* This is the standard solution. But it does not work.
Properties properties = new Properties();
properties.setProperty(
"javax.jdo.PersistenceManagerFactoryClass",
"kodo.versant.ObjectPersistenceManagerFactory");
properties.setProperty("javax.jdo.option.ConnectionURL", "jdodb");
properties.setProperty("javax.jdo.option.ConnectionUserName",
System.getProperty("user.name"));
factory = JDOHelper.getPersistenceManagerFactory(properties);
Using KodoHelper we get the following:
=====================================
[c:myareadevjdotutorial kodo]java tutorial.SeedDatabase
Created 5 new dogs.
Using JDOHelper we get the following:

• Issues adding a second 4402 wireless controller

I currently have 1 4402 wirless controller that is controlling the 17 APs I have in our corporate office and 18 APs we have in a warehouse 10 miles away. The warehouse has all of the APs set to H-REAP so that they can connect across the WAN to reach the controller.I have purchased a second 4402 and have placed the controller at the warehouse to handle all traffic out at that site and to relieve issues we have when the WAN gets saturated.
I have configured the 4402 at the Warehouse with the same basic setup as the first controller (well, different IP and different VLAN and different SSIDs so I can tell I am on the new one easily). The problem I am having is that I cannot get any of the access points to log onto the second controller. All access points still show up on the first controller.
To reach the first controller I had placed the information in the WIndows DHCP scope (Option 241 I believe) to talk to the first controller. I have change dthat to point to the second controller but that does not help. I saw that the first controller was set to be the MAster, so I turned that off to no avail. I even created a new vlan, created the DHCP information, and then added the Access Points to the new VLAN. Still, they connect to the first controller.
Lastly, I logged into the APs and reset them to factory defaults. The APs still find the first controller.
Any ideas what I may be missing to have them hit the new controller?
Thanks much!
Dave

These are from the AP I am trying to join to the Controller and the logs on the Controller. Looks like I have a setting wrong somewhere on the Controller that I am just missing.

• F.E.A.R. 2 black screen while using Soundblaster X-Fi

This is my second attempt to get some support for a problem that is plaguing many trying to play F.E.A.R 2 with a Soundblaster X-Fi. We have been on the official forums for WBGames now for the past two weeks asking for help. Many were able to find solutions by updating their codecs however there are many of us that still cannot get into the game. WBGames official response it as follows...
Dear, xxx
Regarding your sound acceleration error and the sound cards you have used, we apologize for the inconvenience you have experienced.
At the moment, we have been noticed that certain Creative sound cards (X-Fi, Sound Blaster and Audigy) and Realtek are presenting incompatibility issues with the F.E.A.R. 2 application. Unfortunately, Creative Labs have not yet released a patch to solve this situation, as other companies like Nvidia have worked on.
F.E.A.R. 2 is designed to function with Windows XP/Vista compatible graphics and sound cards. Drivers for these devices are provided by Windows itself or the respecti've card manufacturers and may occasionally result in incompatibility problems beyond our control.
If there is anything else we can do to assist you, please do not hesitate to contact us by email at ">[email protected] m or by phone 080-0664-9456 (in Germany) during the hours of EST :00 pm - 0:00 pm, PST: 0am- 8pm MON-FRI.
Thank you for contacting Warner Brothers and have a great day.

I thought that someone with creative labs would be interested in either responding or releasing some kind of a statement in regards to this.
The current problem for us is when we try to launch the game a small animated orb runs at the bottom right of the screen while the game loads. At the end of the animation we hear a small chime and the screen goes black as though it is about to load the intro videos. But we get nothing. The screen remains black. I have exhausted all of their solutions, I have updated drivers and tried the latest beta drivers from Creative. I have removed, replaced, and updated codecs. Video card drivers are updated, etc.
Basically we are faced with the following dilema. We can disable the sound card in Windows and the game plays however with no sound. We can run the game in safe mode which manually disables the sound card and the game plays but with no sound. Leave the sound card enabled and run the game in normal mode and we get a black screen.
PLEASE, can someone with Creative Labs respond to this? We are looking for answers and would very much like to play this game.Message Edited by djdouglas on 02-20-2009 09:39 [email protected]

Re: F.E.A.R. 2 black screen while using Soundblaster X-Fi?

Pardon me but i'm looking your Quad SLI setup a potential culprit to your problems. Have you tried disabling SLI mode to see if the problem can be resolved?
That was my first thought when I encountered this problem. I took the steps troubleshooting video. Disabled SLI, Physically removed one video card. Updated drivers, etc. I am currently running the 82.06WHQL drivers which are suppose to be enhanced for F.E.A.R.2 and other games.
My next step was to try uninstalling codecs as their support team had suggested for people running into issues with the demo version (which btw worked perfectly for me). There were tons of reponses by the devs and community managers before the release of the game in response to people having issues (these same issues) on the demo. So they released a patch the day before the release of the game and when everyone installed the game the patch automatically installed. So for me and many others that enjoyed a smooth gameplay in the demo our rigs are now not working with the official release.
Since release we have yet to see a response or fix or suggestion from a dev. There have been many others in the community that have helped each other out by posting their solutions. For most updating their codecs using Klite or Ace Mega codec pack has fixed their problem but for a select few of us these solutions have not worked.
Basically I can launch the game successfully in safemode which disables sound. I can also disable the sound card and launch the game successfully although without sound. The codec that has seemed to be effecti've when replaced by others is the Microsoft IMA ADHCP codec. However for me I can disable that codec and get a hardware accelration error but still get a black screen. Re enable it and get black screen with no error. So I do not believe this to be the issue plaguing me. Ultimately it is coming down to a conflict with my sound board and the game.

• Trouble getting Cisco 2600 Series AP to stay joined to WLC 5508

Hi,
I have recently been tasked with upgrading our old Autonomous APs to LWAPs.  We have a 5508 WLC at our Virtual Co-Lo and I am using Flexconnect to accomadate local switching and dhcp at our sites.  I have upgraded over 50 APs and joined them to the controller.  These include only 1130AG and 1240AG models.  However they are working flawlessly and staying connected to the controller.  The issue I'm having is with a new batch of 2600 series APs staying connected to the controller.  I have attempted to do research into what may be causing the disconnects but have yet to find a solution.  I am using DNS to resolve the CAPWAP & LWAPP queries from the APs to the controller accross our WAN.  In reading other posts I thought it may be an issue with packets getting dropped but have had our Vendor who manages Sonicwalls at both ends of the WAN confirm for me there is no packet loss.  Below are logs I gathered using puttty from the AP & WLC.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Under my AP Policies I only have "Accept Manufactured Installed Certificate (MIC)" checked.  I attempted to add the AP based on MAC Address (c0:67:af:6f:25:70) with this certificate type but still have the same issue.  I then ran the following debug on my controller and this is the output I recieve regarding that MAC.  I tried to cut the output short because it get's somewhat redundant but was unsure what exactly to look for in the output.  Should I be selecting a different certificate type?  I am somewhat new to wireless technologies but doing my best to pick things up so if this seems trivial please forgive my ignorance.

• Autonomous 1252 converted to CAPWAP will not join 5508 WLC

WLC 5508 firmware is v6.0.188.0
I've tried updating the autonomous 1252 via both the upgrade tool 3.4 and 'archive download-sw' from the CLI
I've tried multiple recovery images
c1250-rcvk9w8-tar.124-21a.JA2.tar
c1250-rcvk9w8-tar.124-10b.JDA.tar
After AP reboots with recovery image it joins WLC and downloads new CAPWAP image then reboots again
AP will not rejoin WLC with updated CAPWAP firmware
Any help with this is greatly appreciated!
Thanks in advance and happy holidays,
Scott

Nathan and Leo are alluding to CSCte01087. Basically the caveat is that DTLS fails on a non-00:xx:xx:xx:xx:xx L2 first hop. e.g. if the APs are on the same VLAN as the management interface, they must have 00 MACs; if they are on a different VLAN, the WLC/AP gateway must have a 00 MAC. If the workaround below does not suit your environment, open a TAC case for an image with the fix.
      Symptom:
An access point running 6.0.188.0 code may be unable to join a WLC5508.
Messages similar to the following will be seen on the AP.
       %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Invalid AC Message Type 4.
       %CAPWAP-3-ERRORLOG: Unencrypted non-discovery CAPWAP Control Message
Conditions:
At least one of the following conditions pertains:
- The high order byte of the AP's MAC address is nonzero, and the AP is in
the same subnet as the WLC5508's management (or AP manager) interface
- The WLC's management (or AP manager) interface's default gateway's
MAC address' high order byte is nonzero.
Workaround:
If the MAC address of the WLC's default gateway does not begin with 00,
and if all of the APs' MAC addresses begin with 00, then: you can put
the APs into the same subnet as the WLC's management (or AP manager)
interface.
In the general case, for the situation where the WLC's default gateway's
MAC does not begin with 00, you can address this by changing it to begin
with 00. Some methods for doing this include:
-- use the "mac-address" command on the gateway, to set a MAC address
that begins with 00
-- then enable HSRP on the gateway (standby ip ww.xx.yy.zz) and use this
IP as the WLC's gateway.
For the case where the APs' MAC addresses do not begin with 00, then make
sure that they are *not* in the same subnet as the WLC's management
(AP manager) interface, but are behind a router.
Another workaround is to downgrade to 6.0.182.0.  However, after
downgrading the WLC to 6.0.182.0, any APs that have 6.0.188.0 IOS
(i.e. 12.4(21a)JA2) still installed on them will be unable to join.
Therefore, after downgrading the WLC, the APs will need to have a
pre-12.4(21a)JA2 rcvk9w8 or k9w8 image installed on them.

Is there a way I can assign two email addresses for a completed form to be Emailed to?
When I insert two email addresses seperated by a " ; " I get an error symbol on the form.

Do not use the email submit button. Use a regular button and set it up as a Submit button in the Object Palette. Now a submit tab will appear. In the Submit to URL: you can use the mailto protocol which will interact with your mail client to send out the mail. The mailto supports multiple users. If you need help with the mailto protocol simply google mailto.

• Internal memory error using IMAQ 1394 ver 2.0

Hi Robert,
I apologize for the much belated response to your e-mail.
- When I was receiving the fatal memory error I was using the GRAB vi
to acquire the data.  The problem seems to go away if I switch to
the SNAP acquisition method.
- I am not using the IMAQ vision FFT vi, I am using the FFT Spectrum vi.
- When the image acquisition code is removed I ran the FFT on simulated
data generated within the program not loaded from a stored file.
Thanks,
Ronen

Hi Ronen,
My name is Robert and I am one of National Instruments' IMAQ and Vision
supporters.  Eric has forwarded me your email regarding the error
you are receiving as it looks like the problem may be related to the
image acquisition side of things.
In your last email, you noted that the fatal error does not occur if
you remove the FFT code or if you remove the IMAQ code.  I was
hoping you could describe for me a couple of things in greater
detail.  1) In your typical code configuration, do you acquire
with a GRAB?
2) The FFT code that you mention, are you using IMAQ FFT VIs from the Vision Development Module?
3) You said if you remove the image acquisition code the program runs
fine. Does this mean that you are running your code on an image loaded
from file?
These answers should help us get to the bottom of the situation.
Additionally, how large is your program?  Are all of the various
parts subVIs?
Regarding your other question, data parameters like those that you
mentioned can be changed during program execution, but those changes
are not saved to the camera's configuration file.  If you make
these changes through the Measurement and Automation Explorer the
camera configuration file will be updated.  This behavior is to
protect the configuration files from being corrupted by the program you
run.
Hope this helps.  Let me know how things go with the IMAQ/FFT code.
Regards,
Note:  Your reference number is included in the subject field of
this message.  It is very important not to remove or modify this
reference number, or your message may be returned to you.

Hi Ronen,
I guess using the forums works for me too! I'm just glad I found it
To clarify, you are first acquiring with a Grab (does not work) or snap (works fine) and then performing an Image to Array.  After Image to array you use the intensity information within the FFT Spectrum.vi?  When the program errors out, do you know which step you are running?
In addition, you should be able to whittle the program down to just these basic steps, and see if the error continues to occur.  If the problem you are having can be consistently reproduced with these three or four steps, I would be interested in seeing if I can reproduce the problem here.
Regarding one of your other questions, changes made to the camera configuration file from Labview will not be permanent.  This is to avoid the possible hazard of overwriting the file with a non working configuration.
Hope this helps,
Robert
