Main Asset master problem

Hi Every body,
when i am posting the F-90 Asset purchased , This error will be coming
No depreciation areas have been defined for asset 1-0
when i am creating the main asset master After click the Depreciation area it's not available any information. How to maintain the Depreciation area details in main asset master.

Hi,
When creating a new Asset Master using transaction code AS01, in the tab Depreciation areas enter the Depreciation Area, Depreciation key and useful life. This is a mandatory field, unless this is entered you cannot save it.
Before this all your configuration settings for the Depreciation Area should be complete.

Error whle creating Main Asset Master(AS01)

while i was trying to create the asset master , ABAP run time error is displayed "snap_no_new_entry" and i could not able to save the asset master.
please provide some solution for this problem.......

AS01 Asset Master - Problem with Cost Center in Time Intervals

I need your help to solve this problem, in the tab Time-dependent - More Intervals - Overview of time intervals
When i add a new interval and change the Cost Center, the system modify all the previos intervals setting the last Costo Center to all, i dont know why the system do that, thanks.

check that the prerequisites which are explained in [Note 684659|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/684659] are fulfilled.
I assume that you are on a release R/3 Enterprise or higher.
- KOSTL activated in ACSET
- cost element existing
- field status allows KOSTL in the account
- cost center maintained in asset master record

Problem with the creation of asset master record

Hi Gurus,
i am having problem in creation of a new asset master with the use of existing man asset number and different asset sub number. I am trying to create the asset in the same company code but different depriciation area, but the system is not allowing me to do that. Is there a setting in the SPRO by which I can allow the use of creation of the asset number by using the already existing asset number with the new asset sub number. This is actually happening in the system for one type of equipments but not for other.
Can any one tell me what settings are to be made to allow this for all containers.

Hi,
A sub asset master can be created with AS11 only.
You cannot create a asset sub number under a main asset number, in the case, where different set of dep areas needs to be maintained.
When you create a sub asset, all the dep areas will be copied to sub asset's master from main asset master. Since this set of dep areas cannot be different from main asset to sub asset.

Copying the same interval to Sub-asset master

Hi Friends,
My client is using 4.6c Version. The main asset master is having two time intervals in the time dependent data tab. With reference to that main asset, when we are creating the sub asset master all the time intervals are automatically copying to sub asset. But they don't want to copy all the intervals and want to have only latest interval to subasset.
I have tried the same thing in ECC 6.0, it is copying only the latest interval. But it is not in 4.6C. Any suggestions please..

Have a look in the the field status settings from your asset, there you define these copy rules

Enabling of the Business Area field in Asset Master Record

Hello SAP Gurus,
Can you explain how I can enable Business Area field in Asset Master Record becz it needs be change.How I can acheive this becz it is coming in disabled mode.

Once u ticked the check box save it.Now u can change these field in main asset master record and if u have ticked Su no also then in sub asset master record also.Make sure filed status is optional.
Now u go to AS02 if u want to change the filed for main asset or sub asset

Problem in asset master upload

hi
while i am uploading asset master in Production server, i am getting error
"Current fiscal year 2007 has to be after transfer date 31.03.2008"
In OB52 i have opened only 1st period of 2008 and in Asset Data Transfer i maintained as 31.3.08.
I am uploading assets upto 31.3.08 only.
if any one knows the solution pls let me know

Hello friend,
Use the TCode - AJRW to open the next fiscal year i.e. 2008 in Asset Accounting in your case.
In the screen Asset Fiscal Year Change give the following inputs
Company Code - XXXX (Your CoCd for which you want to do the legacy Assets upload)
New Fiscal Year - 2008
Remove the Test Run Check Box
Go to Program menu and click on Execute in Background
Give the printer name in the screen you get
Pres enter
In the next screen select Immediate check box
Click on Save button
System will run a background job
Go to job overview screen and ensure the job got completed successfully.
Then you start uploading the Assets

Scrap Percentage Field in Asset Master

Hii Experts,
scrap value in main asset and sub number different.
i want to have scrap value different between main asset and sub number
example
asset number 123-0 scrap value = 1
asset number 123-1 scrap value = 0
asset number 123-2 scrap value = 0
I want when i change the main asset i.e 123-0 with scrap value-1, it should update all the relavant sub numbers like 123-1 and so on..
is there any configuration to solve this problem. (now i have to manual change by as02)

In standard system, as soon as asset master is saved, then it's not possible to change sub-number's master data via changing main number mastre data because either main number and sub number are individual asset.
the possible way to realize your expectation is to use mass change combining a substitution of field 'scrap value' via T-cd:AR01.

[URGENT]: legacy asset master upload including values

Hi,
I am having trouble uploading asset master including values. Has anyone done this before. PLease help me out.
I have tried to use lsmw standard batch input method, but after assigning everything when i do the last but one step Create Batch Input Session, i get an error asset class not found. IT has read and converted data properly but still i get this error. here is the log.
Termination of processing                            ***
Cause:
Asset class not set or invalid.
Key of data record which caused termination:
Client          = 110 ,
Company Code    = 900 ,
Asset class     = 10405    ,
Old main number = /            ,
Old subnumber   = /    ,
Transaction     = AS91 ,
Record type     = A .
Or else there is some other problem. I dont have time left. Can some one help me understand this. And what sort of source structure in this i have to create do i need two int. tables one for BALTD and BALTB.
If possible can someone please suggest me steps as to how this upload can be done easily ... I have tried using BAPI also but then there it gives an error enter capitalization date, though i have given that. Please help me out ... very very urgent Client is on my head ....

Try to prepare the upload file with one record, and then select "process/foreground" in batch processing, you should able to see what cause the error.

Creation of Asset Master

Dear All
A very good morning.
My problem is that when I create the asset master through AS0, in the Depreciation Area tab all the fields viz.Book depreciation, dummy 1 etc appear in white ie they are changeable by the user.
I want to select a sreen layout in which these fields turn grey & cannot be changed by the user.
Can you please help me on this.

In the screen layout, the depreciation key is specified to be a madantory one with no check box for display.What should be done in such a case.
More so when i try to come out of this screen the system gives a message "Specify maintanence level" & dosnt allows me to quit. Can you explain this to me .

When I try to import fixed asset master data from an excel file to the Sap Business, a problem that I cannot identify occurs, and as a result, data is not imported. The process runs normally, data is processed but at the end an informational message says that zero data was imported. I would like to have help on this to solve this issue.

Error in Asset Master record creation

I have created one asset class 1001 for land and 3001 for Vehicles by myself (i.e. without reference)
I have filled all account determination, screenlayout, etc.
When i create asset master record for LAND, i enter asset class 1001 (for land) & it accepts.
But when i create asset master record for Vehicle, i enter asset class 3001 (for vehicle). But it throws error.
Error shown is:
Chart of depreciation IN00 that was determined is not entered for asset class 3001.
_How to rectify the problem ?_
Help with Tcode or menu path.

Solution given is:
In order to be able to assign chart-of-depreciation-dependent data to asset class 1001, the following conditions have to be met. You have to have already
1. Defined at least two active charts of depreciation
2. Assigned asset class 1001 to more than one chart of depreciation
However, at the moment this asset class is only assigned to chart of depreciation 1.
I m unable to understand the solution
