Main Safari Discussion list needs wider column(s) or sub forum name change

The main discussions list window has fixed column widths and the one that lists which forum a particular topic resides is too small for the entries there. Either that column needs to be wider so that one can see whether "Safari 3 Public Beta ...." entry is for Windows or Mac OR change those forum names to something like "Safari 3 for Mac - Public Beta" and "Safari 3 for Windows - Public Beta"

  • List content type columns don't show new names after resource files were changed

    Hello,
    we ran into a problem, that we're not able to figure out at the moment.
    We have a site collection with site columns and site content types defined and created with
    features ant their XML files. All display names are retrieved from resource files. We do have
    several subsites, that have predefined lists also created from features and their corresponding
    XML files. They use inherited versions of these site content types as list content types with
    their columns inherited from the site columns.
    We had some changes within the resource files and never ran into a problem up to now.
    We changed the display names of some of these columns within the resource files. After
    these changes the site columns, site content types and list columns show the changes
    as planned. Unfortunately the columns of the list content types do not display the changes.
    They still show the old name. If you try to alter the old names manually the new name is
    shown within the form, but you're not able to save it and the list content type columns
    still have their old name afterwards.
    We checked our definition files and they seemed to be well.
    Any ideas?
    Regards,
    Markus
    List columns as defined within new the resource file:
    List content type columns, that do not show the changes from the new resource file:

    Hi,
    According to your post, my understanding is that you want to modify the site column name in the list.
    I try to reproduce the issue, however, everything works well.
    You can modify the DisplayName in the Element.xml file.
    Then after you redeploy the project, the site column name will be changed in the list setting page.
    In addition, please check whether you create the list correctly.

  • I want to convert a series of names into a table (in either numbers or pages). The list I have has a name and then an email address in brackets, followed by a 'yes' or a 'no'. I would like to separate the list into three columns

    I want to convert a series of names into a table (in either numbers or pages). The list I have has a name and then an email address in brackets, followed by a 'yes' or a 'no'. I would like to separate the list into three columns - the first containing the name, the second containing the email address and the third containing the 'yes' or 'no'.
    Can you help me ?

    The question that needs to be answered is what is separating the columns? Is it a single tab, one or more tabs, spaces, or what?  Or is it the brackets that makes the separation between the three pieces of data?
    If it is always a single tab, that makes it really easy.  All you have to do is find/replace the brackets with nothing (as Wayne said)
    If it might be multiple tabs, you can find/replace tab-tab with a single tab and repeat that a few times until no more double-tabs are found.
    If it is one or multiple spaces, that might be difficult. I'll think about this one if this is what you have. I'll ignore this possiblility for now.
    If it is the brackets separating the three pieces of data, you would Find/Replace the left bracket with a tab then do the same with the right bracket.

  • How to list a calculated column in Main Report from a subreport

    Hello all,
    I am using CR 2008 and I have a coulmn in my subreport which I was to list in my main report.
    Let's say I have a main report which is run by item number and then I have a subreport where I have calculated annual usage of items and then I want to list the the annual usage in main report.
    let's I have 3 columns in my main reprot item #, description and class code and then I am calculating annual usage in a subreport and list as 4th column to my main report.
    How do I do that ?

    if you just want to pull a value from the sub report you need to create shared variables
    SHARED VARIABLES
    Shared variables are used to pass values from sub report to the main report.
    (if you want  to summarize totals from a sub report with totals from the main report, you would use the following formulas to pass the value from the sub report to main report.
    SUB REPORT
    whileprintingrecords;
    SHARED Numbervar  X := x + ;
    MAIN
    whileprintingrecords;
    SHARED Numbervar  X;
    X
    Shared variables can not be suppressed.
    Make the font white and the field very small.
    They must be placed below the subreport to retrieve the value.

  • Web based vs email discussion lists

    This might not be the right forum, i.e., Safari works great (and if there is a better forum for this, please direct me). I cannot understand why some people cannot tolerate web based discussion groups (much like the apple.com discussion site): they insist on using email discussion groups. I don't mind using email, but I'd rather have everything stored on some web site so I don't need to get extra emails and it's much easier (usually) to search for something on a web based discussion site. Is it like some people can only use cash and cannot use credit cards? Or is there something else I am missing?

    I'd rather have everything
    stored on some web site so I don't need to get extra
    emails and it's much easier (usually) to search for
    something on a web based discussion site.
    Email can be an awfully lot faster and more efficient than logging into various websites, plowing through lists of messages in various forums, finding new ones, waiting for servers and browsers to do their thing, etc. The mailing lists I subscribe to have extremely fast and accurate web-based archive searches that go back as far as anyone would want.
    On the other hand, groups with a high volume of lengthy messages can become very tedious via email, and I think these are better off in web format.
    The important thing is not the format but what you need to accomplish. Anyone who thinks they can get help with Apple stuff from some mailing list or newsgroup that comes anywhere near what is available from this and other web-based forums is badly mistaken, I think.

  • I can't get into the safari discussion board.

    and firefox and opera are soooo lame. So, I'm going to post here;
    I know I'm in the wrong board, but Firefox and Opera won't open the Safari discussion page. so here's trying here:
    Hi, I use Safari 4.0.1 (there's my problem right there, probably), and although it crashes all the time, now it won't even start up. Please help me because Firefox is sooo lousy, I keep getting "Apple Discussions no longer exist" pages (or something to that effect) every time I hit a button.
    I do a lot of editing on Wikipedia, and I'm always flipping back and forth from a page to the Top Sites page. The Top Sites page always gets the rainbow ball of death for some reason (I have "Medium" amount of Top Sites).
    I went into the Top Sites manager, un-pinned one page, and then suddenly both Safari and my Mac turned into Windows XP and took forever for anything to get done.
    Force quitting, then re-opening only results in a blank page with a rainbow death ball, and deleting 1200+ "preview" images from the cache didn't help either. Neither did a reboot.
    So I'm most likely going to install the latest version of Safari because it is faster than Firefox and less cumbersome.
    But I'm hoping someone may be able to tell me what loop or trap Safari got stuck in because that seems to be what happened:

  • How to enable enable Quick Edit button in Discussions List (SharePoint community).

    I wonder how I can enable the Quick Edit button in Discussions List (SharePoint community), see attachment. This is no problem on other list in SharePoint. I need to import data that I have in a Excel sheet from and old forum (not Sharepoint). So if I can
    enable Quick Edit, I will just copy data into my Discussions List. Hope somebody can help me???

    Hi,
    Please execute the commands below to enable Quick Edit feature in Discussion board list:
    $web = get-spweb "http://sp/sites/sitename"
    $list = $web.Lists["listname"]
    $list.DisableGridEditing = $false
    $list.Update()
    Now you could use Quick Edit in Management view.

    Hey,
    I am exploring the technique 'JMS'. I found an sample code on the Internet (https://www.redhat.gl/docs/manuals/jboss/jboss-eap-4.2/doc/Server_Configuration_Guide/JMS_Examples-A_Point_To_Point_Example.html).
    But unfortunately, by running the code on my local computer, I got an NoInitialContextException (Exception in thread "main" javax.naming.NoInitialContextException: Need to ...Application resource file: java.naming.factory.initial). After searching on the Internet, I discovered I need to configure some JNDI values. But, also after passing on the variables to the class by parameter (-Djava.naming.factory.initial=com.sun.enterprise.naming.SerialInitContextFactory), I still get the same error.
    What have I forgotten? Hope someone can help. Thanks!

    I'd gather by your "reset Safari"  and "clean up" you mean by sites you rather not have your mom see.

  • Creating Select List with multiple columns

    I want to create a select list with multiple columns. I followed the demo application model described in the by Denes Kubicek (Currently my reference for APEX !!)
    The code is as follows:
    CREATE OR REPLACE FUNCTION getcrops(p_cropid IN NUMBER)
    RETURN VARCHAR2
    IS
    v_cropid VARCHAR2 (400);
    v_fcode VARCHAR2 (400);
    v_product VARCHAR2 (400);
    v_var VARCHAR2 (400);
    v_fname VARCHAR2 (400);
    v_acres VARCHAR2 (400);
    v_style_start VARCHAR2 (400);
    v_style_end VARCHAR2 (400);
    v_return VARCHAR2 (400);
    BEGIN
    FOR c IN (select "CROP"."CROPID" as "CROP ID",

    I created this anonymous Pl/SQL function at a application level ..Then I followed up to create a select list with a function inside. However I could not create select list with the command suggested in the demo which is
    select getcrops(cropid) d, cropid r from crop;
    APEX (2.1) returns a error message. What am I missing ? Should the function be called from somewhere else after creating a regular select list..? Where the functions (Pl/SQL) should be ideally stored for application level access..? and for across application level access ? How can I check the function works good. Help is appreciated.

    Still really one column.
    If they need to be independent then you've got to have three selection lists.

    AFAIK, the only way to do this is to write a system modifcation.
    The BADI is executed only once at startup of the session, so that makes it merely static. (A strange point in time, I discussed it with SAP and they just shook their heads)

  • How do I change my Discussions List Alias

    Cannot seem to change my discussion lists Alias.
    Went to "My Setting" and also to "My Public Profile" and did not see a place to edit and change my alias.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi Jack!
    "Will have to decide to change my account..."
    Here is some additional info.
    As you have discerned, the Alias of the account you are using, cannot be changed, but you can create a new Discussions Account, with an Alias that you prefer.
    You cannot delete your present account. Just stop using it, after you have created a new one.
    You can use all of the same info in the new account, Email address, User name, etc, just be sure to insert a new Alias of your choosing.
    But your Level2#), Points(425), Total Posts(804), Total Posts Online(605) and Registered Date(7/6/02), will not be transferred.
    In the new account, your Post Counts, Points, & Level Status will all start at 0. Your Registered Date will be the date you create the new account.
    Your old account, with your previous counts & level, will still be viewable, under the old Alias.
    After you quit using the old account, those posts, will be archived. What that means is, that if there are no additional responses in the Threads they reside in, the Topics will get continually pushed down on the Topics list. After a certain amount of time, maybe 2 to 6 months, the Threads will be locked, so no responses can be entered. But the Threads will not disappear.
    Threads in heavily trafficked Forums, may be archived more rapidly than those in areas, with less activity.
    The Topics that you started using the old account, will show your Old Alias, in the Author field of a main forum page, but eventually, readers will have to keep going to the succeeding pages to view them.
    If someone were to do a Discussions Search, using these parameters:
    Restrict by Category or Forum: All Categories
    Restrict by Date Range: All
    Restrict by Username: Your Old Alias
    all of your posts, created since about 11/13/05, would be found.
    To create a new account,
    Log out of Discussions. Delete the Apple Cookies in your browser preferences. Then follow either of these instructions.
    -How Do I Create My Account?
    If you haven't signed up for an Apple ID for the Apple Store or AppleCare Support website (or forgot your old one), you can create a new account on the My Info webpage. Just click the "create one" link on the right side of the My Info page. Choose your country location and preferred language from the appropriate pop-up menus, then click Create Account. In the resulting page, enter a unique name (such as your email address) in the Apple ID field and fill in your other relevant information accordingly (fields marked with * are required). Click Continue to complete the process.
    -To register, click Login in the sidebar on the right side of the Discussions page. In the resulting page, click the "create one" link at the bottom of the page, then click "create one" in the subsequent page and follow the instructions to create an Apple ID. For more information, see the Apple ID FAQ page.

  • SAP Query:Error 'List is wider than 255 characters '

    Hi all,
    i m new in SAP Query.
    one query is already done.
    one change is come out.
    requirement is - Add one extra column
    when i m going to add one extra coulumn and test it then message is come out.............
    List is wider than 255 characters (generation not possible)
    Message no. AQ255
    Diagnosis
    You attempted to define a query where the line width of the generated list is greater than 255 characters.
    You define the line width on the Title, Format screen which permits a maximum width of 255 characters. However, when defining statistics and ranked lists, you can implicitly increase this value, since the lines cannot be broken up. This is the case here. An implicit increase in the width of the list would result in a list wider than 255 characters. For this reason, the query cannot be executed.
    Procedure
    Check which of the statistics or ranked lists is responsible and modify it so that the resulting list width is no greater than 255 characters.
    plz help me and suggest me as soon as possible

    hi  Shafiq ,
    i am aslo facing same problem of  (List is wider than 255 characters  )
