Mainboard : MSI MS-6701 (Medion OEM)

Hello, I'am French girl and It's difficult to write a good English message.
Anyway, I'm going to try.
I have a old PC, but it's do work correctly.
My problem is to know if I have to change my mainboard or a part of them or just a driver.
This mainboard with Intel   NetBurst and audio card integrated. That one is defective (bad sound)
Identifiant :    02/22/2003-SiS-648-6A7I0M4MC-00
I didn't find a driver to expective repair on the MSI ' site : Is that somewere ?
Do you think I can change the sound card without mainboard ?
I hope to find a solution.
Thanks to your councils and if you can tell me where I must to go to find help.

As your board is oem it is not supported in this forum. Best to contact Medion.
If you have no luck with a driver or the sound is not working the easiest thing to do is get a PCI sound card. They are not expensive. You just have to uninstall the onboard sound and disable onboard sound in the BIOS setup before plugging in the new sound card in a free PCI slot.

    I made mistake, I think...
    I thougt than my procesor is Athlon2.5, now I thing Athlon2.6  .
    When I make FSB CPU 155 or 160 or 166 or 170 xAUTO=athlon2.6,
    when 133 or 150 x AUTO= Athlon2.0.
I don't know why I thing than my procesor speed is 2,5...
What is normal speed my procesor   ? 2.6 ?.
When I change configuration in setup BIOS to "Load default" and make FSB 130...170 (this speed I tested)x AUTO the system with kingston doesn't start but start with onother RAM (samsung).
When I change FSB to 100xAuto the system starts with the kingston but now it isn't stabile
The BIOS (5.7) and motherboard drivers are all up to date.

  • MSI P6N SLI Platinum OEM Modification Question

The MSI P6N SLI Platinum OEM edition motherboard comes with all the circuit layout needed to support 2 SLI x16 Style connectors for SLI'd video cards. However the OEM only comes with one installed and an empty slot for the other. What resistors and the like would I need to add to the board in order to add the pcie x16 connector to the empty area on the board? I've already found a source for the actual slot, and I know I am going to need to add a resistor of some type to the empty resistor slot directly above where the PCIe slot will go. Beyond that I don't know what else I need to do, or what type of resistor is needed.
Oh yeah, and where can I go to buy the optional accessories for this board that came with the retail version? I would have prefered the retail version but the board I have came as part of a kit.

    Hello Tornath,
you have already mentioned yourself, that you have an OEM-Board, not an MSI-Retail Board. MSI does not provide end-user support for OEM products, as this is the responsability of the OEM Vendor who is selling OEM Boards under a different name.  Also, this forum will not support OEM Products and that is why I will have to close this thread.
However, before you waste huge amounts of your lifetime with trying to add a second PCI-Express Slot to your OEM-Board, let me explain to you, why your plan is rather pointless:
    1) The only OEM-Board of this class I know of, has the model number MS-7350VP.  If there ever was a marketing name, it would be called P6N Platinum (not P6N SLI Platinum), and there is one simple reason for that:
    2) This particular OEM Board has an NVIDIA nForce 650i Ultra Chipset (as opposed to the NVIDIA nForce 650i SLI), and if you look at the specifications for NVIDIA Chipset on the official NVIDIA Chipset Specification Site, you will see that this Chipset does not support the NVIDIA SLI™ Technology: http://www.nvidia.com/page/nforce_600i_tech_specs.html   .... That is basically why there is no additional PCI-Express Slot in the first place.   So even if you should succeed in adding a secondary PCI-Express Slot to the board physically, the chipset will render it more a less useless in terms of running two video cards in SLI mode.

  • MS 6701 MEDION and HD over 130 problems..

Sorry at begin for my English..
I've a 6701 Motherboard on my old Medion PC. I have some problems with the original HD, a seagate 80, so I have take a new HD, an Hitachi 164.
But I can't format it over 131 M, this it's the only one possiblity when I go to start a new XP installation.. (the 130 mega format whorks fine.. but the disk it's a 164..)
I've read  here some other guys with a similar problem, but not for the first disk. With MSI on line I've the last bios on my board but this don't solve my problem.

SpinneR, I don't know about this board - 6701. Can you tell what processor you're using, what RAM, what chipset is on the board? Then this could give a hint whether this board can support large LBA for HDD or not.
    Many tnx for the reply.
    My processor it's a P4 2400 Mhz with 768 RAM and chipset .. I dont know.. (sorry for the M it,s 131 GB..)
I've XP installation disk 1st edition, so I think it's limited to 131 GB only.. A good idea to make a bakup installer .. it's new for me, but I can test this possibility.  Tnx for all !!
The PC world it's alwais complicated by these absurde limitations..

  • Some help needed to specify my Mainboard (MSI 945GCM5 V2)

    Hi,
I think I'm posting on the right forum.
So I want to update my mainboard's BIOS.
I've managed to find the board's physical manual and the model as noted on the cover and on the board itself is:
    MSI 945GCM5 V2
So I looked it up on the MSI site and the only thing I could find is this:
    MSI 945GCM5-F-V2
(I would post the link but the forum rules won't let me, so you can look it up on google)
Visually the board itself in the photo, does look like my board but the only difference is the F in the model name:
Mine is this: MSI 945GCM5 V2
The one I found is: MSI 945GCM5-F-V2
Is this the same board or is there a difference?
    Thank you in advance

  • Which BIOS? - Mainboard MSI K9NGM - Model MS-7252

    Hi,
I've done some digging and from what I can find out this mainboard requires a particular bios to work OK with Vista. Would it be possible to provide me with same? Many thanks.

    Quote from: Rod 70 on 18-November-07, 01:49:33
I think I will hold off on the BIOS for the moment. My board is definitely the K9NGM NVIDIA® GeForce 6100 and nForce 410 Chipset however when first turning the PC on I see MSI K9NGM2 A7252NE5 V1.03 01.09.07. The K9NGM2 has NVIDIA® GeForce 6150 and nForce 430 Chipset. Should I then be looking at the K9NGM2 BIOS and not the K9NGM ? Pointless asking Evesham as they are in Administration and take for ever to get any definitive answer from. Even then its a maybe or I think so type of answer. The PC is much more stable than it was so I could just leave it as is but I'd like to know anyway. Thanks
if you unsure what board you have exactly, look here how to ID board:

also do not update BIOS when everythink is working just fine.

  • Mainboard MSI 785GM-P45 compatibility test with mouse A4tech ?

So I replaced the mouse with an identical one, but still the problems remained.
I’ve already tried to reinstall the driver, OS and BIOS but those problems didn't go away.
My mainboard have a new BIOS update named "Improved PS/2 mouse compatiblity issue" but it still not solve my issue
I think my problems mainly come from the mainboad because the mouse still works ok on other computer
So, is there any tool for me to check and fix this compatibility issue ??
    thanks !!

I try all drivers, all usb port, then I said my problem to the distributor, they exchanged me a new model A4tech N-70FX ...STILL THAT PROBLEM ...AAAAAAAAA
Because 2 models work well in their computer so no 4th to exchange, and now, I need to bear with my mouse and wait for respond from MSI support team, A4tech support team and good guy here

ok. I've got a ATI RADEON 9700 in use.
And I've bought the system preinstalled.
The report which is printed out by AIDA32, which is a system information tool, sais that AGP is onboard, but deactivated. DXDIAG sais the same.
I've sent this information to the support team of EIDOS, which is a game manufacturer. They answered, that AGP is deactivated and this is a possible reason for my system crashes during games like TOMB Raider etc.
Does this information help you ?
    Thanks for your help anyway.
    Cheers Michael Wörner
