Mainboard upgrade, case problem

Hello,
I'm going to replace the mainboard in my PowerMac AGP with a Digital Audio board. Unfortunately, the board doesn't fit in my case. Does anyone know a place, where to get PowerMac cases (with or without power supply)? I already googled the net without success.

Hi-
Welcome to Discussions!
If you can't find a DA case, might consider putting it in an ATX case. Check out the Frankenmac articles:

You can get a DA case at the following:

G4AGP(450)Sawtooth, 2ghz PowerLogix, 2gbRAM, 300gbSATA+160gbATA, ATI Radeon 9800   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   Pioneer DVR-109, ExtHD 160gb x2, 23"Cinema Display, Ratoc USB2.0, Nikon Coolscan

    Do you get this window when you hold down the Command+Option keys and launch iPhoto?
    If not then you're not holding down both keys long enough.

    When I click on iPhoto icon I get a box that reads "The photo library needs to be upgraded to work with this version of iPhoto."  Whether I hit Quit or Upgrade the problem is not fixed.  Any suggestions?  Yes, I have tried Command Option iPhoto..no luck.  I think I may have hit Upgrade the first time.  I really need this to be fixed ASAP.  Thanks for your help.

    Assuming iPhoto 09 or later:
    Option 1
    Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
    If that fails:
    Option 2
    Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
    This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
    Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

    Logic Pro 8 upgrade MAJOR PROBLEM
    There was never a problem since you tried to upgrade from a pirated copy of Logic 9
    Why did you even think this could go well?
    I dont have any original packaging since i moved and i lost it.
    Did you check Lost and Found?
    I am in dire need as i run a studio.
    Yet, you let your brother load a pirated copy of Logic 9.
    I need help ASAP!
    You really don't need help.
    Why is it that when I see POSTS like these that the person registers the same day.

  • 9.0.2.6 Portal Repository Upgrade Patch problems.

    We got some problem with Portal when tryed to apply
    9.0.2.6 Upgrade. Could anybody give advice on this issue:
    Initial configuration:
    Solaris8, Portal 9.0.2.2.14, Oracle 9iAS R2 v.9.0.2.0, RDBMS 9.0.1.3. The infrastructure and midtier work on different SPARC-servers.
    Accordingly upgrade procedure we succesfully applied:
    a) Infrastructure: 9.0.1.4 Patchset for Oracle RDBMS server, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for OID, Oracle 9iAS SSO-server
    migration to 9.0.2.5, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for 9iAS Core.
    b) 9.0.1.4 Patchset for Oracle RDBMS server, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for OID, Oracle 9iAS SSO-server migration to 9.0.2.5, 9.0.2.2 Patchset for 9iAS Core, Portal 9.0.2.6
    patch.
    After this we needed to make just one last step:
    Portal 9.0.2.6 Repository Upgrade Patch (2981297) for
    changing Portal's repository schemes. It worked but
    like a result we got the next errors after patch upgrade
    was done:
    a) "The following invalid non-Portal objects exist in the Portal Schema: INDEX ABC (the name of portal object), PACKAGE BODY WWMON_REP_REPOSITORY, PACKAGE BODY WWMON_REP_REPOSIT_DTL, PLS-00103: Encountered the symbol "," when expecting one of the following: (-+case mod not null <an identifier>,...) The symbol "null" was substituted for "," to continue.)" See upgtmp/nonportal.log
    b) "ERROR: 1 invalid objects remain; ERROR: Failed while updating the new portlet IDS..."
    c) "ERROR: ORA-01407: cannot update ("PORTAL"."WWSBR_URL$"."URL") to NULL.
    d) Two package body of packages at PORTAL scheme became invalid: WWMON_REP_REPOSITORY, WWMON_REP_REPOSIT_DTL. About 20 package body of packages at PORTAL_DEMO became invalid (It seems like initial portlet ID's disappeared
    and except of pportlet_id there is nothing:
    Example:
    inital statement at body:
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    PORTAL.wwpro_api_invalidation.invalidate_cache(
    p_provider_id => p_provider_id,
    p_portletid => 1065753336,
    p_instance_id => p_reference_path,
    p_subscriber_id => PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_subscriber_id ,
    p_user => PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_user);
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    after upgrade repository patch:
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    PORTAL.wwpro_api_invalidation.invalidate_cache(
    p_provider_id => p_provider_id,
    p_portletid => ,
    p_instance_id => p_reference_path,
    p_subscriber_id => PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_subscriber_id ,
    p_user => PORTAL.wwctx_api.get_user);
    xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
    Like a result after 9.0.2.6 Portal Repository Upgrade Patch application we lost the possibility to edit user's
    profiles at Portal and other nesessary features. It seems
    like some portlet ID's just dissapeared from Portal scheme. Could anybody had the same problem with Portal Upgrade 9.0.2.6? Quite possible that we missed some important element at during upgrade but ,really, we didn't wait so unlucky result. Advice something, please...
    Regards. Igor.

    Igor,
    Since you've encountered undocumented errors, your repository upgrade has failed. You'll want to leave the repository as is for troublshooting, if at all possible, and log a TAR with support if you haven't already. They'll ask you to upload your upgrade log file and your upgrade tmp directory.

  • UPGRADE ELIGIBILTY PROBLEMS or GLITCHES?

    *WARNING - THIS IS A LONG POST SO GET READY TO READ*
    Last night i had checked my upgrade eligiblity on the AT&T website and for some reason it had changed from me being eligible just a few days ago and even the day before to saying i should call into customer care, about 15 mins later it said i was not eligible at all. I decided to call customer care right away, i spoke to a rep who told me that i was not eligible because i had renewed my contract in Sept/2007. this was true since i had renewed to a new 2 year contract last year after acivating my Iphone 4GB.
    well after hearing that from the 1st rep i did a little research and found out that all previous Iphone customers who had purchased an Iphone before July 11, 2008 will be able to upgrade automatically to the Iphone 3G for the $199 or $299 price. i decided to call back. i spoke to another rep and explained to her i purchased an Iphone last September and that i should be eligible for the lower upgrade pricing which she affirmed was true. I also asked why the ATT's website says otherwise and she explained that it was reflecting the fact that i was not eligible to upgrade to a new phone(non- Iphone 3G) but i was still eligible to upgrade to the the Iphone 3G.
    This morning after all that chaos i went through last night something just wasnt sitting well with me and so i decided to make sure i was eliglible at the ATT store i would be purchasing my Iphone 3g tomorrow. When i arrived at the store and asked the rep at the store if im eligible, she checked (which took about 10 min's) and came back with the manager and he told me i was NOT eligible for another 14 months. I then explained to him that i had previously purchased an Iphone from this very store. He then asked me if i had the Iphone with me. I told him i sold it last month after hearing the new one was going to come out. He said that that, because i sold it and using a different phone is the reason why its showing up on his computer that im NOT eligible. he said because i sold it and switched phones his computer is showing a different IMEI # (cell phone serial #). And because i sold my Iphone 2G i was technically NOT an existing customer and there is pretty much nothing that he or anyone else could do about it.
    After leaving the store in disbelief i decided to call ATT customer care again and they said AGAIN that i was eligible and that the ATT store's computer was wrong, i also told her that i sold my phone which she then laughingly replied that i shouldnt have told her that or the ATT store that because they probably would not have known. i asked if she could speak to the manager anyway which she did but ended up just agreeing with the store manager. So i embarrasingly left the store for a 2nd time but by the time walked over to my car i was so ****** and felt this was just unfair because i was an Iphone customer and it shouldn't matter wether i sold it or not. Since the original Iphone was unsubsidized, the fact that i sold it should have no bearing on if im eligible for the new Iphone 3G, the video said you're eligible if you were a "previous" Iphone customer who purcashed before July 11th not an existing iphone user. (plus i never dropped my data plan last month after selling the thing!).
    ANYWAYS!, i called up customer care again and spoke to ANOTHER rep (4th time) and she also agreed that i was eligble the same way that every other rep did when i called into AT&T customer care. i explained to her my whole situation again and also told her clearly how although i sold my original Iphone that i am still considered a "previous purchaser" of the product therefore i should be eligible. and she agreed. she then put me on hold a couple of times and called the store i went to and spoke to someone there who said I WAS ELIGIBLE! she told me i should have no problems tomorrow. i asked her to wait on the line just be sure the manager was in step with what she said. i handed the manager the phone and she spoke with him for awhile and then she had him on hold for a long time. So he asked i wait util he gets a concrete answer. Meanwhile i was browsing around the store where i noticed they had a touchscreen kiosk where you can view your account info. It had a link where i could check my upgrade eligiblity and guess what it says? IM F*#!'n eligible!!!! and i could print it out on a receipt. i then bought it to the manager's attention and he says that they are experiencing some glitches and to just wait for an answer until he hears something from the Customer Service Rep i spoke to over the phone but i should be eligible since that's even what there kiosk printout says. i then left halfway satisfied. after driving off for about 5 mins the store manager calls me and says he received an e-mail stating that I WAS INDEED ELIGIBLE!!! WOW! has anyone else experienced anything like this? sorry for the novel but i just wanted other people to have something to help them in case they went through something similar. let me know

    Some people are always going to have problems with any update. This one is no worse than most. I suggest you copy your boot volume to an external drive, boot from it, and install the update. Test. If you have problems, all you have to do is reboot.

  • Lenovo P780 Kitkat 4.4.2 upgrade: Post problems and changes

    1. New security system ( neither can be uninstalled nor disabled) actually speaking it is annoying to me. Now a days it is asking for Money Rs.53 for 30 days.
    2. Very bad UI ( had to install NOVA Launcher to change it )
    Does anyone know how to uninstall Lenovo Security. Please help me i dont want it anymore.

    SecureIT is a completely free app.
    The problem you are describing(virus database upgrade fee) is usually related with improper SU binary installation (rooted device loosing root access>CWM/TWRP re-rooting).That's why I asked about root access.In that case the solution was to uninstall and reinstall the app (ROOT needed).
    The funny thing is that if you want to remove it you have to root the phone.
    Rooting instructions HERE.
    Important:If you remove SecureIT you won't be able to install future OTA updates.Suggest ''freezing'' it (ROOT needed).

  • Graphite case problem

    I have a clamshell graphite that has a problem with the rubber trim around the front of the unit.
    It has started to come away from the plastic case.
    Can it be re-attached without much trouble.
    It is only a cosmetic issue, but if I want to upgrade to a newer one,
    it will affect the selling price.
    Any ideas? I tried a clear glue but it eventuall came undone.

  • 3.1 upgrade apxldimg problem, db not on same server

    I am having a problem upgrading to 3.1. I apologize that there are several other threads on this issue, but none seem to address this specific situation.
    Our database (10.2.0.2) is on a different server than our iAS instance. The apxldimg.sql script uses a directory object, which can only reference files on the database server, so it cannot work. Could someone tell me what to do in this case? Seems like I will have to copy the images manually to the Apache/Apache/images directory on the app server, but what needs to be done on the database side to "register" the images?
    Thanks,
    Bill

    Bill,
    The script apxldimg.sql is only relevant if you're using the XDB HTTP Server and embedded PL/SQL gateway. You are not using this, you're using iAS. So Dimitri is correct - you want to follow the instructions for configuration Oracle HTTP Server, which would involve copying the images directory to the filesystem of Oracle HTTP Server.
    By the way, I realize the installation instructions have gotten a little confusing. There are too many choices and paths to follow. We're working on making this much easier to understand.

  • Photoshop CS2 Upgrade Installation Problems w/ Vista Problems

    I recently purchased a new laptop w/ Windows Vista which I'm trying to install my copy of Photoshop CS2 onto. My Photoshop license is an upgrade license ... originally upgraded from Photoshop v4.0.
    When installing an upgrade copy of PS CS2, it requires proof of your previous version in order to verify you're a legitimate upgrader. This works fine if you're upgrading from a version of Photoshop after 5.x ...you simply insert your CD and the installation continues. The installation process is less straight-forward for users like myself ... installing from an upgraded version prior to 5. I'm required to call Adobe ... and conduct a phone verification procedure where I give them a code displayed on the screen during installation and they give me a response code to type into the installation form.
    I deauthorized my old laptop ... start the installation routine on my new laptop ... call Adobe w/ my verification code ... enter the response code (which is accepted) and complete the installation without any problems. My problem occurs when I go to run the software. The startup screen indicates that the software is still in "Tryout Mode", and the first window I'm presented with is the "Adobe Activation" window requesting my serial number. If I try to enter my CS2 serial number it is rejected with the message:
    "You must enter a valid serial number before activating online or viewing activation options. Please check your serial number and re-enter it, or click the Purchase button to buy a copy of this product"
    The thing is ... this IS a valid serial number. I've confirmed this with Adobe. (It's probably an upgrade serial number, which is why the software is rejecting it). I called Adobe and they're now telling me that I must enter a paid-support agreement in order to receive help installing my software. They claim their software is working correctly, and it must be a problem with my computer.
    Has anybody experienced a problem like this? I refuse to pay more for something that worked fine on XP just to use it on Vista due to bugs in their installation and activation routine.

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}

    Have the bugs of using with Vista been fixed, or still not working? thanks,
    I know this is an old problem, but surely there is an answer to fix the problem by now...
    What problems?  I used Photoshop CS2 with Vista with no problems (I still have it installed on a Vista system if you'd like me to check anything in particular).  CS3 and CS4 worked well as well.  Haven't tried CS5 on Vista as I have moved up to Windows 7, but I suspect it works just fine.

  • [SOLVED]After yesterday's upgrade screen problem

    So, yesterday i have upgraded to the newest kernel and udev. Now, the problem is that (i have XFCE) when laptop goes into "switch off screen" mode (in xfce4-power-manager) i cannot recall the screen back to normal (it remains black). I have to suspend it and wake it up in order the screen is visible/normal again (haven't tried to just kill X).

    hi,
    I have the same problem(intel Corporation Mobile 915GM). And I found the following can solve the half of the problem
    Section "Device"
        Identifier    "Device0"
        Driver        "vesa" # <---replacing intel by vesa
    EndSection
    But after "kill X", the screen of the framebuffer becomes quite horrible as showed in the pic.

  • K7N2 deltas mainboards have a problem with usb devices ??

    Ok here is my problem..
    I had installed WinXP Pro with SP1..
    I got a 20 GB USB2.0 disk.i connected it on the both front or rear usb ports.
    When i tried to transfer files to my usb disk or to my PC, in the middle of the copying, i got "Write Delay Failed" error and lost my usb connection..
    I had to plug it out and in again..
    Now, i have an DSL modem..Last night, i was disconnected from internet and my modem's lights gone..I plug it again, no lights..restarted my PC, also completely shutdown Windows XP..Again no lights..
    Then, formatted PC and installed windows 2000 Pr and SP4, until now, my modem worked fine..But USB 2.0 ports are still no use for my usb disk...
    In bios , it's enabled as USB 1.1+2.0..
    I think this K7N2 deltas have a problem with usb 2.0 devices and Win XP Pro..
    Some guys talking about, removing 9th wire earth, but couldn't understand which wire from where ? From mainboard or from usd device's cable ?
    Those cables are fabricated, i think it's impossible ?
    My processor is Athlon 2500+, ram Twinmos 512 DDR 400
    Thanks for reply

    I'm also having this problem. It's happening with my USB flash disk. I was almost buying another one when I tried it with Windows Vista on the same machine and it worked ok, then I tried Arch Linux (with kernel 2.6.30.5) on another machine and got the same error. After that I tried Ubuntu and it worked ok. Seems that Arch's kernel doesn't like my USB flash disk.

  • I have a mainboard X48C freeze problem

    Hi I'm new to the forum, sorry to jump on the band wagon but I have the same problem which has only just started, since I bought a Q9550 (previously had a E660) and instead of starting a new post (can if you want) thought I would ask for some help here.
    I have the following system:
    Windows 7 x64 Enterprise
    Q9550 CPU
    1x ATI HD4870 1Gb GPU
    MSI X48c mobo (2x 120 case fans)
    2x (4Gb total) Corsair CM3X2G1333C9 DDR3 RAM
    Noctua CPU heatsink
    2x WD2500KS SATA HDD (RAID 0)
    1x 1Tb SATA WD Green
    1x SATA CD/DVD burner
    OCZ 600w (OCZGSX600) PSU
    Tsunami Dream case (2x 120mm fans)
    USB ports in roof of case (standard fitting)
    With the E6600 all was good in the land. Slightly OC from 2.4GHz to 2.8Ghz but nothing to set the world on fire. System was very stable. Introduce the Q9550, cleared all CMOS Windows is ok(ish) but when gaming I have random PC freezes, black screen for a few secs then it comes back to life. Occationally the PC will reboot it's self too. All drivers are up to date, latest BIOS, just reinstalled Windows 7 x64 and the problem is still occurring (in fact I had a 7e error whilst installing Windows...) Graphics card has been tested on a friends rig and no problems there.
    Even setting the CPU and RAM volts manually hasn't resolved the problem. In fact it appears the RAM needs more volts than it is guaranteed to run at; they state 1.5 but this BSOD during windows install, 1.63 and I was able to reinstall Windows fine but after a few mins of gaming the PC froze again. I havent waited for a full blown auto-reboot again. I have set the CPU to 1.3v. Memtests have not produced any errors. I monitor with RealTemps and nothing is getting too hot.
    Furthermore I seem to now often get the problem of the PC not booting at all. Power on, fans start and continuously spin fast, I know when it will boot as the GPU fan slows down. PSU underpowered maybe..? I dunno
    I am interested in the fact that advice was given to remove the Switch Cards... I was under the impression they had to be installed? What benefit will this bring? I have also thought my PSU might not be up to the job but I have had conflicting responses there.
    After having a scan around the forum here it appears I may need to lower my RAM settings?
    Taken from datasheet:
     Tested and packaged in pairs
     Packaged together immediately following system
    test
    SPD settings of: 7-7-7-20 at 1066MHz
     Guaranteed at:
    Timings of 9-9-9-24 values at 1333MHz
    Would you advise to lower to 1066? Will try when I get home (was so hoping to get the most out of them!)
    Regards,
    Spanky

    Thanks for the reply and peeling my post off Mike, sorry I didn't start my own initially.
    Well @ 1333Mhz I was using the rated timings 9-9-9-24 (as per Corsair) but it wasn't very stable as I said.
    I have since changed the FSB/RAM ratio to get 1066Mhz and it seemed much happier. (@1.5v) It would be nice to run the RAM at it's rated setting but my OC skills aren't that extensive. I imagine it would need alot of tweeking? Or could I have just relaxed the timings a bit?
    Would removing the Switch Cards make any difference?
    Thanks in advance.

  • Upgrade install problem Photoshop CS5 from CS2, MacOS 10.6.8

    Hello,
    My wife was using Adobe Photoshop CS2 for a long time.  We purchased a Photoshop CS5 upgrade in 2010 through Amazon, but she never installed it after reading about problems other people had with the upgrade.  It was still in its shrink wrap seal until last night.
    Then she recently went to upgrade her Mac laptop to 10.9 Mavericks from 10.6 Snow Leopard, and discovered that Photoshop CS2 will no longer work since CS2 was a PowerPC application.  No problem - we thought we'd just finally install that CS5 upgrade first.  The Amazon web page where we bought the product stated that this was a valid upgrade path, so we thought we would not have a problem.  However, when we went to do the install, we received an "Inconsistency in the installer database" error.
    Going to the support live chat, we were told by Yaseer that we could no longer upgrade from CS2 to CS5 because the CS2 "server" was shut down, and we should go to the forums for help with this instead.
    Now what?  We own a legal copy of PS CS2, and bought a legal upgrade copy of PS CS5 with the understanding that this was a legal upgrade path, purchased from a reputable dealer (Amazon), but now it doesn't work.  There must be something that can be done here.
    I'm not using my wife's Adobe id which she used to register her product, but I can provide that id as well as the serial numbers for CS2 and the CS5 upgrade.

    run the cleaner, http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cscleanertool.html
    restart your computer
    then try to install cs5.
    if you're prompted for a cs2 serial number and your cs2 number fails, use the one linked from this page:  http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
