Mainstage 2.1.3 crashes during performance

Lately Mainstage 2.1.3 has stopped running during the middle of a performance.  I am suing an Apogee Duet 1 with an Apogee breakout box, an MAudio Axiom61 connected via usb and my Macbook Pro 2.4 GHz Intel Core I5 with 8 GB of ram.  Any ideas?

You can customize the toolbar and remove the CPU/MIDI/MEMORY meter to avoid this.
Does this also apply when running MS in full screen mode?
(BTW, I haven't upgraded to 10.7.4 yet. I probably shouldn't.)

  • Mainstage Crash  during live use after OS X 10.7.4 install.

I am a semi-pro musician and I have added Main-stage to my set-up, in line with my hardware synths, as I transition into the soft synth world in a live situation. Up until the latest OS X install, Main-stage has been stable, which is critical for live use, and my confidence moving forward is growing. However now, my Main-stage set-up hangs up and or crashes in performance mode after about 15-20 minutes. This is not acceptable, anyone here that is invested in Main-stage for live use, understands this. 30% of my show is dependent on this too,l but crashes cannot happen on stage.
I have read that the new OS X update 10.7.4 may be responsible, as this is the only thing that has recently changed. If so, what is the solution to resolve?, is it possible to back out a OS X update and if so, how?
This is my first post, which for me, means I am desperate for an answer quickly, thanks.

And there is your reply from Apple:
    MainStage 2.2.2: Release notes
    Products Affected
    MainStage 2.2
    Symptoms
MainStage 2.2.2 is a software update for MainStage 2.2. MainStage 2.2 is a feature upgrade for MainStage 1.0 and 2.0 customers available for purchase on the Mac App Store. MainStage 2.2 includes several new features and fixes.

    Stability and Usability
Resolves an issue in which MainStage might quit unexpectedly on OS X Lion v10.7.4.
Resolves an issue in which MainStage sometimes quit unexpectedly when loading certain concerts.
Resolves an issue in which MainStage quit unexpectedly when a second mapping was assigned to a screen control that already had a mapping assigned.
Fixes an issue in MainStage 2.2.1 in which assignments and mappings could be inadvertently deleted by removing a screen control in Layout Mode.
Resolves an issue related to the download and installation of basic and additional content.
The menu item for Release Notes now opens the correct URL.
    Compatibility
Compatibility with the VAX-77 keyboard is improved.
Resolves an issue in which patch lists were not updated to VAX and Axiom keyboards if the keyboard lost and then regained connection to the computer after launching MainStage
    General
Resolves an issue with MainStage 2.2 and 2.2.1 in which EXS instrument files were not available if they were in aliased folders.
Fixes an issue in MainStage 2.2 and 2.2.1 in which the I/O Plug-in did not route audio to outputs.
When mapping a Screen Control to a parameter already mapped to another Screen Control by using the plug-in GUI, MainStage now correctly maintains independent mappings for each Screen Control.
Resolves an issue in which using the Command key in conjunction with up and down arrows in Edit mode with Map Parameters enabled caused MainStage to assign the mappings to Next Patch and/or Previous Patch.
Fixes an issue in MainStage 2.2 and 2.2.1 in which mapping a Screen Control to jump to a patch or a set no longer worked.
Screen Controls mapped to more than one parameter now operate smoothly over their entire range with all range scale settings.

  • Premiere Pro / Media Encoder crash during encoding

Afternoon guys, wonder if anyone has any tips on how to solve my issue. It's a new pc that I'm working on, my first project on it, everything working great in terms of the edit, but crashing whilst encoding both through Premiere Pro and Media Encoder with an error message (below). I'm not great with this stuff so please let me know if I need to provide more info and I'll provide much information as I can.
    I'm a creative cloud user.
-Premiere Pro cs 6 (6.0.3) - I have tried to re-install the software, and ran all the updates yesterday after the install. Problem still persists.
    -Encoder cs6 (6.0.3.1)
-Windows 7 Professional service pack 1, 64bit. Whilst I was online re-installing Premiere Pro windows did some updates (I generally keep my editing pc's offline).
-DSLR footage (.mov) for video, up to 3 sources of video (nested for multicam shoot) and running one source of audio (mp3 file). Two of the timelines I'm trying to encode are about 45 minutes long.. I have succesfully encoded other clips (a 5 minute, and a 35 minute previously. Miraculously this morning I encoded a 1h12m clip using the mpeg2-dvd preset with only adjustment of quality bumped from 4 to 5). So this was encoded after all the updates, however since then everything else is not working.
-Initially encoder was either freezing, or giving me an error message. Since re-installing all the software yesterday it now does not freeze, but I get the error message: "Adobe Media Encoder CS6.0 has stopped working... A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available." I get the same message when encoding with both AME and Premiere Pro.  I click "close" from here and nothing else happens.
-Trying to export to mpeg2-dvd, I have tried the PAL widescreen preset, as well as trying to adjust the settings, doesn't seem to make a difference, the error message pops up different points during encoding.
-The only plugin I have used is magic bullet looks for some grading. It also fails to encode with no plugins used.
    -PC     - Intel i7-3770 @ 3.40ghz,
              - 32GB ram
              - Operating system and Adobe Suite on c: (SSD 240gb)
              - Project source footage (video, audio, etc) f: (2tb)
              - Encoding files to e: (SSD 240gb)
              - my case is an Antec 902, with no additional fans. It does sound like it's working harder during encoding, not sure if a heat issue could be causing the software to error?
-I am using the mercury playback engine with a Gefore gtx 680 (2gb).
I have not been able to find any definitive answeres with regard to the crashes. I did also have encoder hanging whilst reading the xmp file. I have tried encoding video only (audio disabled) and whilst it doesn't hang during reading of xmp file, it still stops working with the above error message.
I also run an older PC with i920, 24gig, gtx570 and it never crashes but performs much slower. It is also running windows 7, same setup but different hardware. Not sure if the hardware on my new pc could be causing the issues, if you you guys have any troubleshooting tips it would be much appreciated. At this point i have tried starting a new project, new timelines, nothing seems to work, so I have transferred the data to my old pc for encoding (as I need to deliver the discs to a client), but I need to get this new setup working properly.
    Cheers,
    Stevan

    Hi Axel,
Thanks for your suggestions, I just tried cleaning out the media cache and also rendered out a wav file of the audio and placed it in the timeline and deleted the mp3 version.. Tried once again to encode an mpeg2-dvd file.
1st attempt encoding through Media Encoder, pal widescreen with variable bit rate set to 6, 7 and 8 = everything froze, had to restart via button.
2nd attempt encoding through Media Encoder = this time tried video only same settings just no audio = same error (Adobe Media Encoder cs6.0 has stopped working...)
3rd attempt encoding through Premiere Pro, same settings with audio = same error message.
4th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, pal wide preset as standard with no change = same error message.
5th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, h264 preset for vimeo, 720p = same error message.
6th attempt encoding through Media Encoder, AVI (Uncompressed) 720 x 480 preset. 1m40s in the dreaded blue screen appeared. "A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer. A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval. " Bla bla bla.
In all instances the encoding is absolutely flying, but always ends up crashing.

Unfortunately, I've posted this two different places. However, here's how the problem was solved:
I'm not an IT shark, but after reading several posts in the forum, I finally solved the problem with kind help from chiefsinga's post with link to Linc Davis suggestion.
Check it out here: Mail wont start (scroll down on that post)
OR... you could follow those steps:
First of all, in my case it wasn't Yosemite that caused the problems. Instead, it was a corrupt database, so don't blame Tim Cook this time :-)  In the following, I assume that you made a backup before installing Yosemite.
Here's what to do (at least in my case and translated from my Danish Mac version)
Fire up Finder and choose Go to folder... in the top menu.
Copy or enter this path in the dialog box: ~/Library and hit Go.
Now, locate the Mail subfolder and move it from the Library folder to the Desktop (don't move the Mail app).
Time for a test. If you're able to launch Mail now, it will prompt you to set up an email account. Don't do that, instead hit Cancel.
From Time Machine (or other backup), restore the Mail subfolder in Library from the most recent backup you have that predates the issue.
After firing it up, Mail will now let you copy mails, mailboxes, folders etc... to your new Yosemity Mail app.
You're smiling again (hopefully...), because right in front of you, Mail is launching as it's supposed to do
Hopefully, this will be a help...

  • IMovie'08 (7.1) Crashes during Import from Camera

Well, it is hard to say simpler then the subject line of this posting... iMovie'08 (7.1) Crashes during Import from Camera (PANASONIC PV-GS500). I use 24GHz MacBook Pro with 4Gig of RAM. Importing to OWC 500Gig RAID drive, as well as to the internal 200Gig 7200 RPM drive. So it certainly looks like not because of hardware. I tried to remove DIVX and Pearl plugins from QT folder in Library as it was suggested in previous postings to no success. It seems like I am not the only one with this problem here. If iMovie cannot import from camera then what is it good for? By the way, the previous version of iMovie works fine importing etc. Did I just wasted $79.00? Anybody knows the solution? I hope somebody can help.

    FOUND FIX
I found this fix in another thread post. iMovie 7 appears to be bugged, but you can import movies if you download iMovie6 HD. It's apparently free from apple for iLife 08 users.
Here's the link so you can download it.
    http://supportdownload.apple.com/download.info.apple.com/AppleSupport_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/Mac_OSX/downloads/061-3532.20070807.nq3ER/iMovieHD6.dmg
Hours spent trying all sorts and iMovie HD ... just seems to work. Someone suggested that I use an external HD to improve performance. Just make sure you don't use Fat32 because it bombs when the file size gets to 2GB lol. It's a limitation of the Fat32 format. Since you can't access NTFS directly, you're a bit stuffed if you want to use the external HD with you Mac and PC. Either format it for your mac or your pc.

  • System crash during database extension

    Hello!
Unfortunatly we experienced a system crash during database extension.  The new datafile (DISKD0013) was only partly (1,4GB of 9GB) created, when the server went down.
These are the error messages we get when trying to start the database:

Is there a manual way to correct this problem by removing the "corrupted" DISKD0013?
    Regards,
    Fredrik

    Hi Fredrik,
    you can either:
    a) remove all necessary parameters from the paramfile using the relevant dbmcli commands (param_directdel)
    b) perform a parameterfile recovery using dbmcli (param_restore)
You're okay as long as nothing was written on the new volume.
When using a) you need to make sure you delete all necessary parameter entries belonging to the datavolume (size, type etc.).
When you're restoring to an old parameterfile, you need to make sure the parameterfile's only difference is the datavolume extension as the last change, otherwise you'd possibly reset more than you'd like. To check the parameterhistory, you can for example take a look at the <DBSID>.pah file in the /sapdb/data/config directory.
If you're unsure what to do, i.e. if it's a productive system and you're an SAP customer: open an OSS message.
    Regards,
    Roland

Restore iPad to Factory Default; do not restore from backup. It may be the cause of the problem.

  • ITunes Match crashes during 3rd step when uploading songs to the iCloud

    Hello There,
I have just one issue with iTunes Match which causes me to be slightly skeptical, although it is such an amazing way to listen to music ect.
I have about 15000 songs and most of them were added on the iCloud, however only around 200 still needed to be added manually on the iCloud. The issue appears right after the second step where the songs starts uploading. All of a sudden iTunes just crashes and asks me to close the program.
Just to add I am using a dell desktop PC with windows 7, and everything is up to date including latest updates of the iTunes.
What can I do to sort this issue out, so the rest of my music can be added to the iCloud without having iTunes to crash during uploads?

    hi,
    See this link.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4914
I have read elsewhere that some people have used match with XP successfully but they were having more and more problems with each upgrade of iTunes.
Have you tried removing the tracks that are still waiting to be matched or uploaded. There may a track that is causing the problem. Once you have removed outstanding track update imatch. If this works, gradually add the tracks back a few at a time.

  • How can i fix my mac book pro. My safari crashes all the time, my screen will turn black for no reason, My iPhoto crashes during upload from my iPhone, I can't highlight anything and I can't drag anything.

Someone PLEASE help me! I cant figure out what is going on with my computer.  I don't install anything weird, but my brother does.  He's very good at computer tech stuff and is in I.T, but I cant help but blame him for all the problems my Mac is having.  Nothing works like it should.  My safari will randomally crash, my screen will randomally turn back, my iphoto will crash during uploading from my iPhone, I cant highlight anything, I can't drag anything.  When I want to click on something, I have to click over and over again just for it to even register.  I know everything is up to date and recently reset my PRAM.  I'm running Lion and have a lot of room on my hardrive.  I have an external harddrive and I'm wondering if I should just move all of my important files over to it and completly wipe out my computer's hardrive and start from scratch.

Some folks can't leave well enough alone, and insist on downloading all sorts of additional "stuff" that ends up making their Mac unstable.
Standard Mac OS X on properly-operating Hardware does not crash, unless you start installing too many add-ons.
You can run "just the basics" by holding down the Shift key at Startup. This does one pass of Disk Repair, then loads a minimal set of extensions, and comes up in Safe Mode. If it works OK that way, but crashes in "regular", it's the add-ons.
There ia another layer of add-on junk that can be added to Safari. If the only remaining problem is Safari crashing, those add-ons can be disabled as well.

I have continuously over the last 6 months struggled with syncing my iphone and ipod with itunes  The app continually crashes during the picture import.  AND by the way it takes 10-15 minutes before it even attempts to import photos.  The screen says importing photoes but doesnt try to optimize or anything for 10 minutes.  I have a 3gs with 16Gb so its not a cheap phone.  I have 10Gb free.  I have 6600 photoes.  This is very frustrating and undermines my confidence in your products.  My ipod is an ipod 4 with 16Gb also.  It does the exact same thing to it.  The last time, I had to import photoes a few at the time and with it taking 10-15 minutes each time for 6600 photos it is a long frustrating process.  But it will import every photo a few at a time.  The error message is just that itunes has stopped working.  no hint as to why. AND of course, my phone is out of use for the entire time.  You guys must not want to believe ur phones are a necessary tool...or maybe you dont want the consumer to believe it is.  I have tried to find solutions on your website as well as through other 3rd party communities.  Ultimately they were of no use.  I stumbled onto my solution by accident since Im a bit of a computer geek...a semi-geek.

I have this issue too, I went into my Windows event viewer. (should have looked at this a year ago when this started)
    it said this
Faulting application name: iTunes.exe, version: 11.0.2.26, time stamp: 0x51253247

basically whenever I try to sync my ipod touch 4G 64GB it crashes iTunes when it begins the pictures. if im lucky ill get 4-5 on there before it stops responding. its not my system or anything im running win7x64 8GB DDR3 ram (Corsair XMS3) AMD FX Eight core processor.
It is silly that iTunes cannot add pictures to apple devices. it shatters whatever incline I may have to buy apple products. knda like the Airport Extreem router my dad bought the new firmware, caused my router to not function... why release firmware that breaks a product. -_- <-- off topic but still

  • ITunes crashed during transfer purchases now says This computer has previously been synced with an iPhone or another iOS device

The problem that have started when I was going to sync my iPhone 4 with current iTunes running on 64bit Windows 7.
I started iTunes and plugged in my iPhone.
All looked good and the iPhone came up as the device as it should have.
Next I wanted to transfer purchases prior to syncing so I started the Transfer Purchases process.
iTunes stopped working during the Transfer Purchases process
Now when I plug in my iPhone iTunes takes me to the “setup your iPhone” screen and displays “This computer has previously been synced with an iPhone or another iOS device” and only allows me to restore and old backup or setup as new.
Obviously some files were not closed properly when iTunes crashed during the transfer purchases process, how can I cleanup iTunes so that it will allow me to backup and sync my phone.
I am a software developer and am sure that a fix is not in the menu options   What I am saying is that I can easily remove or edit corrupt files to get it working.
    Thanks, Mike

The error message you're seeing is likely the other way around -- i.e. something like "This iPhone has previously been synced with a different computer".   There's no problem syncing multiple iOS devices to the same computer.
However, the reverse is not true for the iPhone --  you cannot connect an iPhone to another computer without it being erased, even if you manually manage music and video.  So, it sounds like you've been syncing your iPhone to a different computer?
Also, 5.1 (not 5.0.1) is the latest iOS.

  • CS5 apps crash during launch in XP

    Hi,
I just bought and installed CS5 Design Premium and can't get it to work, including Photoshop.  Most of the apps crash.  They crash during launch (splash screen) and therefore never get going.  Each app seems to display different error messages.  One common denominator seems to be something relating to scripting (not sure what that implies - plug-ins?).  The only CS5 apps that don't crash are Bridge and Media Encoder.
Upgrading to 12.01 didn't help.  I tried rebooting, uninstalling and re-installing.  I ran a system scan with Windows Defender and no malicious software was detected.  I run a very clean system so no unusual programs running in the background and what little I do run in the background, I exited from.  I hadn't run a previous version of Photoshop (or any other program in CS5) so there were no Photoshop plug-ins to uninstall.
I do have Lightroom 3 installed (huge image database), which I have not yet uninstalled (far from trivial IMHO).  Lightroom does have three plug-ins (all disabled) which are the Canon and Nikon Tether Plug-ins and a Flickr plug-in.  I don't know how to uninstall these or whether it would affect CS5.
As an example, when I launch Photoshop, I get the following error:
    AppName: photoshop.exe     AppVer: 12.0.1.0     ModName: scriptingsupport.8li ModVer: 10.0.0.0     Offset: 000d183a
InDesign fails as it says "updating Panels" and I get:
AppName: indesign.exe     AppVer: 7.0.0.355     ModName: support for javascript.rpln
    ModVer: 7.0.0.355     Offset: 00036183
    System Specs:
    3.4GHz P4, 4GB PC6400, 1.5TB SATA, Nvidia GeForce 6600 PCIe, Asus P5WD2-e Motherboard, XP Pro SP2
    I run Flash 10.1.53.64 and Quicktime 7.6.6, Java 6.0.2
When I launch Illustrator, it used to crash hard but now it stops while loading (Initializing Plug-ins, PDFFormat.aip) and displays a custom error dialog saying "Error loading plugins.  AISaveForWeb.aip DxfDwg.aip PGNFileFormat.aip.  Eventually it launches, apparently functional (haven't tested it).
    Any help appreciated, thanks!

Corporate users are often very conservative, as many needs must be met before a new system can be rolled-out.  The reasons for being so conservative are rooted in good business, and in many cases are quite justifiable.
I have a friend who works IT at a railroad company, and he regularly has to support Windows 2000 machines amongst the majority of their systems, which are XP.  He tells me what he and a whole team of people struggle with every day.  I've been there.  I administered systems for entire Engineering departments myself.  One of the things I ALWAYS made time for, however, was breaking in new systems and getting to know them.  As a result, our people always had near state-of-the-art systems to work with.  It was even a selling point when our managers interviewed someone sharp who they were trying to get to accept an offer:  Our work environment was second to none.
In recent times we are starting to see why staying with an ancient operating system instead of "biting the bullet" and moving up to modern technology is proving to be more and more expensive.
Brushing aside Vista - for a while - might have been justifiable, but...
Hours and hours to make something work on XP?  New roll-outs of XP systems?  In 2010?  Are you kidding?
All that time being wasted to get old things working could and should be spent on embracing the new, and figuring out how to make it sing on key.  People have now gone before you and can authoritatively state that Windows 7 can be made to work.  A darned sight better than its predecessors in many ways!
    Time is money.
