Mainstage 3 basic content

Hi, I tried to install MS3, but installation freeze downloading the basic content. Can I manually download the content separately from another url?

Hi turtle power,
Welcome to the Support Communities!
First of all, confirm that you have Mtn. Lion 10.8.4 with a 64-bit processor on your computer, as Mainstage 3 requires this configuration.
Try uninstalling the software again and adjusting the energy settings for your computer to never sleep.

  • Mainstage basic content download does not complete

    Hi,
I bought Mainstage yesterday. I have tried 4 times to dowload the basic content (ie. opening the program). It gets about 3/4 of the way, and then tells me that it failed and to check my internet connection.
    Thanks.

Tried another time and sat in front of the computer the whole time. Worked - my only guess is that it was asking for my computer password to finish the install and then went to sleep after a while. Hope this helps others.

  • Mainstage 3 installation hangs at "Basic Content Download"

I purchased Mainstage 3 today from the App Store. I am attempting to install it on a MacBook Air (mid-2011 model). I have upgraded to current Mtn Lion OS. I have 30 GB of free disk space. The app has downloaded but it's trapped on the Basic Content Download dialog. It forever says "Installing..." but there is no activity in the progress bar. I have tried:
    1. Canceling install. Restarting. Trying install again.
    2. Canceling install. Throwing out Mainstage from Applications folder. Restarting. Trying install again.
    3. Canceling install. Signing out of App Store. Restarting. Signing back in to App Store. Trying install again.
    4. Canceling install. Signing out of App Store. Throwing out Mainstage from Applications folder. Restarting. Signing back in to App Store. Trying install again.
I'm officially out of ideas, short of taking it to the Genius Bar, which I don't want to have to do if I can help it.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks!

I went though this until I deleted the app and re download it from App Store.
The biggest problem here is that progress bar.  It honestly tells you nearly NOTHING.
Even IF your samples are downloading, you may not know it because the progress bar WILL HANG while it is actually working.
You need to give it an hour before you know it has failed, and that is on a 3Gb Internet connection.
When the samples have downloaded, the progress bar will go to about 75% and appear to hang again.  This is the point at which the big bundle of files has been completely downloaded.  Now your computer, Air in this case, has to decompress them all and move them where they need to go.  THIS CAN TAKE ANOTHER 20 MINUTES (depending on what else your Mac is doing and the state of your storage--EVEN ON SSD), and you need to watch for when it starts, because you have to authenticate yourself as an administrator for the OS to write to the /Library folder where much of what you downloaded is going.  If you fail to give an administrator password,  eventually the installer will tell you it failed, when you could have stopped the failure by authenticating.
Thank GOD this only has to be done once.  If you are a logic user, or Garage Band for that matter, you can also use those programs to download the critical content and then MainStage will start normally.

  • Every time i try to open logic pro 9 this box opens to download basic content that logic wants to update. i tried 3 times, and it does finish, but when i go to open logic again, box reappears. Can anyone tell me how to fix?

Can anyone help me? Every time i try to open logic pro 9 i get a box telling me logic wants to download a 2G basic content download, but even when it completes, on trying to open Logic it re-appearres and I cant get into Logic.Doesn't appear in downloads, very confusing!!

Try manually downloading and then installing the additional content using this link instead....

Note: For anyone else reading this.. This link is for the additional content for Logic Pro 9 and not for Logic Pro X.
Remember to quit Logic Pro 9 prior to installing any additional content files.
If you find you have problems downloading the files from this link you may need to also use JDownloader 2 beta to help you...
    http://jdownloader.org/download/offline
Despite the warning notice that it is a Beta product, it works very well... Just remember you have to install Java first, if you haven't done so already.

  • Having trouble downloading the basic content

havingh trouble with  downloading the basic content of main stage 3 at the end of the  download it keeps saying something about Internet connection i tryed two different Internet places. my house and the apple stores as well did the same thing.

It definitely wasn't a space issue for me. I have about 600 gigs of free space. I finally got everything installed, it just took many, many tries. The good thing is that whatever was downloaded appeared to stay downloaded. I didn't have to start from scratch every time.
But now I'm having other issues. After playing for a few minutes, I get distortion, even in clean settings, along with intermmitent popping and some of the accompanying CPU spikes I've seen referenced in other places on these forums.
I'm hoping the noise issues are related to my troublesome US-800 and that when Santa brings my MOTU Audio Express, all will be better.

  • Logic Pro 9.1.7 shuts down when installing the basic content

I downloaded Logic Pro 9.1.7. from the Mac App Store 3 days ago and it still doesn't work. It is always downloading the basic content (2GB), but when it is finished downloading and starts installing, Logic Pro shuts down without any warning or anything and when I try to open it, it starts downloading the basic content again. What can I do, to install the basic content?

Well, I don't have the plugins so I don't have the issue, but it sounds to me like you should contact the alliance... seems like the plugins are the problem, not the DAW.

  • 'Basic Content Download' Problems

Hi, I've got a fairly average broadband internet connection and the 'basic content download' page that loads before you open your first session has been taking hours.  The progress bar on the bottom doesn't even appear, let alone move.  Should I keep waiting or is there a fix?

No.. not OS X.. but Logic itself.
A new version was released that has a fix for 'stalling' downloads.. That version is v10.0.1. You may have actually downloaded 10.0.0 and didn't get the newer 10.0.1 version depending on when you started the process as 10.0.1 was released very recently. You can check by going to the Logic Pro X Menu bar and selecting Logic Pro X/About Logic Pro X. The version number is located just below the large Logic Pro X Title in the  'silver' window that opens..
If it says 10.0.0 then quit Logic and go to the App Store application and select Updates and download the updated 10.0.1 version..
If you have 10.0.1 then, make sure you have turned off any firewalls such as Little Snitch for example.
Other than that... it's hard to say what your issue might be.. in which case, contact Apple directly for more personal help..

  • Garageband 10.0.2 There is Insufficient disc space to install the basic content

After I updated garageband to Mavericks It wont let me open it because of "Insufficient disc space." Really, I have 8 Gigabytes available on my macbook air and I know garageband wont take 8 gigabytes to install basic content. Please help.

    That's good.
In the long run you'll have to find a solution to relocate media files to a small, portable external drive. Your mac will be slow and unresponsive, when the disk space gets low. You'll notice it when recording or playing your songs.

  • There is insufficient disk space to install the basic content

I downloaded latest GB after installation, when trying to start GB i get the error message "There is insufficient disk space to install the basic content"

you'll need to make room on your drive by deleting some files

  • Cannot Download Logic Pro 9 Basic Content

    Hey there!
I reformatted my Mac for a clean install and then installed Logic Pro 9 which I had already purchased. After the installation when I launched the program it started dowloading the "Basic Content" which is around 2GB. My interent connection was fine but it said "Logic could not complete the download" or something to that effect. What on earth is wrong?? :?

    Timmy,
    That sounds like either....
You have a corrupted image... so try downloading again
    or..
Something else you have installed on your Mac is interfering with the installation process in some manner. Do you have any 'so called' Anti Virus software running for example.. or an uninstall tracker maybe? If so disable or uninstall such things and try installing again..
    Finally...
Remember to make sure that Logic Pro is NOT running when you install extra content...

My basic content download wont complete for my logic pro?

Same thing is also happening is Logic Pro X... but I have not seen or found links to the new Logic Pro X additional and basic content downloads.
ART OF NOISE helped with Logic 9 by offering up the following :
However, to resolve this... use these external links and download and then install all the essential and additional content instead.

  • HT204263 como cancelar la descarga de "Logic Pro & MainStage Essential Content

Can you please let me know how to stop  downloading "Logic Pro MainStage Essential Content"

You must download the Essential Content otherwise Logic Pro X/Mainstage will not function correctly..
The extra Additional content, however, is optional.

  • Logic Pro X - Basic Content download not complete

Asks for password after about a quater of the 2 GB is downloaded.  Then next time I start Logic Pro X it starts to download basic content again. Is there a link I can download these new files from? I could never get it to work in the old version either...
    Thanks'

I'm still stuck and it's getting annoying.
I've manualy installed the core audio package (2GB) and after that it started just fine. However, after rebooting it aks if I would like to resume 'essential sounds...' package. Not the core but essential?! Anyway, I said resume, assuming it's some extra instruments wich I might not have in my legacy library, but it's been toasting my HD for over an hour now and I have no clue what it is actually doing.
The activity monitor shows 'com.apple.musicapps.MAContentInstallation' running at 110% CPU. and my HD is morse coding me all kinds of messages...
Is this package an extra package that I should continue to, uhm, download/install?? Or is this a glitchy thing that makes me wanna go back to Logic9 again?
Any help or info would be very appreciated, thanks!
