Mainstage and occasionally Logic hang upon opening

Hey all,
I'm running a 2009 unibody MacBook pro 17inch, 2.93 dual core, 8gigs of ram, 2 7200 hd's (original hd with the OS, apps and Logic Studio stuff on it the Hd that replaced my Optical drive holds iTunes, documents, video stuff, etc).
I run two mics through a M-Audio USB Fasttrack Pro (along with the audio out to the PA) and two keyboards through the other USB ports. My concert is pretty loaded, about 12 songs, some with as many as 3 or 4 different patches depending on keyboard and vocal changes.
When the concert is running, whether in band practice or live, it's great. No problems.
Every now and then (and it seems to be happening more often lately) when I open the program it just HANGS. It bounces and bounces and does nothing. So I force quit and try Logic. Same thing.
Restart the machine.
Same thing.
Sometimes it just starts working, sometimes I open it directly from the project and it works fine.
It makes me nervous though, obviously.
So here is my current thought process.
1) The CPU seems fine.
2) There is no bootcamp problem (as I've seen in other threads).
3) Usually the only app open is quicksilver. I'll start closing that.
4) I'll start turning off my wireless?
5) The machine is always in highest power settings but I'll make sure that the HD's never go to sleep in that setting.
6) I'm going to verify and repair permissions on both HD's tonight.
What else am I missing?
Do I need to do a clean wipe and install? Will that even help?
Anything anyone has to offer would be really useful here.

Two other things I thought about:
1) Would it make a difference if I were to switch over to a Firewire version of the Fasttrack Pro that M-Audio does?
2) I changed Mainstage from automatically opening the last concert to "none" so I can then manually have it open the concert. But I don't know if that really will make a difference.

Final Cut Pro X hangs upon opening due to large project. Way to access previous project Version?

I'm running FCPX on what I assume is close to the bare minimum... low end 2011 Mac Mini, upgraded to 8GB RAM. I was working on a project, not too long, but a lot of clips, and for one near the end I decided to "zoom out" to a sort of tile collage of a couple hundred clips (each 1080p24). Whoops. FCPX hung pretty much all night, and after a Force Quit, the app now hangs upon starting up again.
I tried Apple's suggestion for hiding events and projects that aren't being used at the moment, to try and lighten the load, but I guess the current project with that one short clip of those hundreds of simultaneous clips is, on it's own, still too much. FCPX still hangs upon opening, once the project shows up in the project tray. The rotating beach ball mocks me.
I noticed a backup file in the Project folder, but there's only one file and it's not dated old enough to not have the troublesome clip. I can't access Versions because I can't do anything upon opening FCPX except Force Quit. Is there another way I can access a previous Version in order to not resort to starting the whole project over from scratch?

There is only one backup file - I think it gets over-written every fifteen minutes so unless you have some other backup, you'll have to resort to inginuity.
Try moving the Media to a temporary folder - that way the Project will open with disconnected clips. You can then re-link them a few at a time - leaving out the ones which you believe are causing the problem.
Then duplicate the project and in the new project, concentrate on the complex clip - ditch all the rest and work on getting that clip back up. Then you could export that clip as one movie file and import it back into the project.
Always keep regular duplicate projects - they are your backup - or, do as I do, and clone your working external HD to another of the same size and speed.

Safari, Mail and Software Update crash upon open after S/U 2006-004

After installing the latest Security Update, Mail, Safari, and Software all crash upon open. nother strange this is that when I do a FIND on Safari, it seems to be in the Root "/" directory. The only way that we can get onto the inter is by using IE. I have also tried to create another user to see if that helps, but Safari just shows up as a "?" in the dock. When I goto applications, and open it there, it still crashes under the new user. Itunes will successfully go to the Music Store.

I reloaded the Mac OS on the mac that was having the problem.

Encore and Premiere CS3 hanging while opening - EMERGENCY

I try opening Premiere or Encore on my Mac they just hang while opening ANY project file that is dated before today. I can make a new project, save it and open it...but any project made before today freezes both programs. They start loading the project and then it just hangs, with the colored wheel staying on screen until Force Quit is used. I have months of work done on this project and am literally 2-3 days away from completion, and backup projects won`t load either. I need some serious help on getting this resolved before I lose my mind and seriously contemplate quitting film altogether.
I have 3 gigs of ram, 2 x 2.66 Ghz dual core Intel xeon and CS3

One thing to try... create a new project and then import the old project into the new project

Have had issues with Bridge becoming increasingly and painfully slow in loading/previewing its thumbnails on all machines in the studio.
We have purged cache as per suggestions from the opening error messages but this has only made matters worse to the extent that now it wont load its previews at all.
Ive reinstalled Bridge three times now. Even after reinstalling Bridge still retains last folder browsed information and will attempt to navigate to that folder regardless what you are trying to select.

Outlook and Skype not responding upon opening.

I have a 2013 MBPr 13". Several applications including Skype and Outlook open in a window and are unresponsive immediately.
I have verified disk and permissions.

There is nothing related to DxDiag in the attached file. It's just some strange x.rtf file.
Please, run the DirectX diagnostics tool.
Go to Windows Start and in the Run box type dxdiag.exe and press the OK button. This will start the DirectX diagnostics program. Run this diagnostics and save the results to a file. Please, attach this file to your post.

Calendar and Reminders app crash upon opening iPhone 4s, iOS 7

My wife's iPhone 4s is acting up.
Recently it won't open either Reminders or Calendar.
Calendar makes the screen white and Reminders black.
Both apps freeze the phone for a bit, making it necessary to pound the Home key a few times to get a response.
Anyone else have this problem?

Double tap Home button, delete all the apps in multitask-list by swiping UP the apps preview.
Then do a reset.
Reset: Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Note: You will not lose any data

Safari and web mail crash upon opening....ahhh!!! help please

Every time I click on safari or mail the window opens and closes immediately. I did an update on Thursday and this just started today. Help!!???

Try doing a hard reboot
1. hold the power and home buttons down
2. you will see the "swipe to turn off" screen come up... KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTONS
3. The screen will go black (turn off)... KEEP HOLDING THE BUTTONS
4. A white Apple logo will appear on the screen, now you can release the buttons. Let the iDevice boot... should only take a couple minutes.

Desktop and Screensaver preferences crashes upon opening it...

hi,
recently for no reason whenever i try to go to desktop and screensaver option in the system preferences it crashes automatically and means i have to force quit it. Its very odd. Is there a way to stop it doing this?

If it crashes, there should not be a force quit required. What do you see in the crash logs?
In any event, try trashing a preference file (com.apple.systempreferences.plist) and restarting.

Indesign and Illustrator CS6 crash upon opening. Photoshop is fine.

Hi,
Everytime I launch CS6 indesign and illustrator i keep getting the classic "indesign quit unexpectedly..." message. I have already run the Adobe Application Manager and updated everything and uninstalled, reinstalled both items again and yes I have restarted.
Falling drastically behind on work and looking for solutions fast! Any ideas anyone? Very gratefully received!

and onthe off-chance that ID got far enough to leave something behind, find the InDesign Recovery folder (a hidden folder, I think, since Snow Leopard or Lion) and empty it if there's anything there.

Photoshop CS3 hangs on open - NO DVD inserted!

I just installed 10.5.2 and NOW PS hangs at open. The other apps had a problem but dragging out the plist for them corrected them. I tried opening PS with another and with that user it crashed and gave a box to notify Adobe.
I also ran the CS3 update and it would not install. I tried the version que update and that did not seem to help.
Both softwares are driving me nuts.

Firefox Hangs every opening, but loads from internet to "home".

After downloading Windows Live Essentials 2011 Firefox (and Windows Explorer) hangs on opening every time though it is my primary start page. I can open it by internet access (i.e. windows update) back to "home". Are there problems with live essentials?

Try running Firefox in [[Safe Mode]]. If it functions properly in that configuration, then one of your add-ons is the culprit.
Also, if you have some kind of security software installed which scans links like AVG Safe Search, AVG Link Scanner, McAfee Secure Search, McAfee Site Advisor, or some other kind of anti-phishing tool, try disabling it.

Logic 8 should have no problems in SL.
Use Software update to check if you've got the latest update for it (SU will only offer an update if it's not already installed).
Failing that, I'd start by uninstalling Logic and re-install from the DVD in case something got corrupted during the update.

Instruments changed and settings reset upon opening a project

Need some help!
I opened a project earlier today to discover that some of the instruments have changed and most of the mixer settings have reset. There's no reason as to why this happened that I can think of, and it's not an old project, I'd only started it last night and had worked on it this morning. I'm not sure what has happened but is there anyway I can get it back to the way it was? There's no way I can adjust it all back to the way it was manually as I'd designed a lot of synth.
I'm going to have a guess that my M-Audio Oxygen 61 has something to do with it as occasionally it changes some of the faders on it's own and I have to keep switching it off and on again when it stops responding. I've got the latest drivers installed from the m-audio site.
I'm running Logic Studio 9 on a Macbook core 2 duo 2.4Ghz, 4Gb mem, 10.5.8

iPhoto hangs immediately upon opening. The only way to stop the activity wheel is to force stop iPhoto. OS is 10.6.8 and iPhoto is 9.1.5 - think I am current.
