Mainstage crashes with certain memory upgrade that work with other programs

I updated my memory from 2G to 4 but selected a cheaper brand that had good feedback. It works fine with all the programs but Mainstage seems to need a certain quality memory as the program crashed all the time after several minutes or so of playing, but oddly, the program completely disappeared from my screen when it crashed with the rest of the computer (a Macbook Pro 2.2) working fine. When I put the old memory back (2Gig) in it only crashed when the memory was full as it fills up continually, bit by bit, while you are playing. Anyway, I thought I would mention this in case someone has the same problem with a more 'value' memory. I am RMAing it and getting a better brand. This originally did this in Leopard but downgrading to Tiger I found the same problem. I am also using a Firewire rack, sound card. RME Fireface 800 that makes the instruments sound phenominal, I might say though may be consider overkill.

I've used a number of budget Ram sticks in my day, and have never heard of Ram that is working properly but can't handle a load that another stick of the same type and capacity could handle. I do know that you're supposed to put 'matched pairs' into those MBP's in order to get the highest performance. If anyone reading this has more insight on the particular question, (ie. can certain brands of Ram not perform the same as other brands, excluding sticks that are faulty or damaged), I'd love to hear.
I'm glad you're up and running, and I hope it wasn't the Ram since the Mainstage update seems to have alleviated the problem for you. Rember is the same test as Memtest, but with Memtest you boot up from the console, so it can check every sector of the Ram. Rember runs while you're running OSX so parts of the Ram can't be tested since it's being used by the OS.

Eraser doesn't work with my tablet, but it works in other programs

I have a Wacom tablet that I use with photoshop. I always have the button on the side set to eraser, so that I can easily switch tools by pressing on it. Recently this function has stopped working in Photoshop Elements.
-I have already checked my tablet settings and the button is still set to 'erase'
-In other programs, like sticky notes, the eraser still works like it used to do.
-Both programs should have the latest updates
I've tried reinstalling Photoshop Elements. This solved the problem for a short while, but when I tried to use it again yesterday, the problem had returned. I didn't use Photoshop Elements in between the day I reinstalled it and yesterday, so I'm not sure when the problem came back. I'd like to know what the problem is (I'm fairly certain that it is related to Photoshop, since other programs don't have this problem) and of course how to fix it. I hope someone can help me.

Are we now requiered to buy CS6 to get camera raw 8.4 or is there an upgrade that works with CS5?

I use CS5 and don't want CS6. I do however need to upgrade camera raw and would like to get 8.4 or newer. Is there a way to get it without having to buy a whole new program? If not I guess I'll have to stop using CS6 and Lightroom 5 for my work and use another program.

As a Cloud member, you can still store your files locally just as you do now. That's my preferred workflow too.
Cloud membership does come with 20GB of Cloud storage space on remote servers but using it is optional. You're not obliged to.
I have been with Adobe and using both Photoshop and lightroom since beginning, but I guess all good things must come to an end at sometime.
Using the free DNG converter, you can continue with your current software and your current camera. You just have to convert the camera's Raw files to DNGs first.

Need to upgrade - an iMac that works with PP CC 2014 *and* Pro Tools 11.2?

i'm looking back and forth between the two programs' system requirements and i'm stalled out.
Pro Tools 11.1.2 - 11.2 has these two options for iMac:

fusion drives aren't supported by Pro Tools so i'm sticking with the ATA.
will this work with PP CC 2014? i need the upgrade because of a project i'm doing in PP but my normal 9-5 job is in PT so i'll need both to run immediately. thanks!

The better graphics option ie 780M for that Imac with the I7. I would also suggest a TB drive instead of Firewire which is higher latency and lower bandwidth for drives.

I just upgraded to os 10.9.5. When I try to open iPhoto, I am told that the version I have(9.3), is not compatible with the os. But it came with it when I upgraded. What do I have to do to get an iPhoto that works with 10.9.5? TIA

I have old mac software 10.3.9 and the only firefox that works with it is 2.0.0.20. i cannot afford a new laptop or software. which upgrade will work with my G4 powerbook built in 2004

Firefox 2.0.0.20 is the last version of Firefox that works on OS X 10.3.9

That shows you that iPhoto is working correctly and whatever issue you are having is based in your original library.
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. This will create a new library based on data in the albumdata.xml file. Not everything will be brought over - no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your albums and keywords back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

To change the iCloud ID on your devices you have to go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account, provide the password for the old ID when prompted (if using iOS 7), then sign back in with your current ID.
If you don't know the password for your old ID, or if it isn't accepted, you will have to temporarily recreate it in order to delete the existing account. To do this, go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll. When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Assuming iPhoto 09 or later:
Option 1
Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Choose to Repair Database. If that doesn't help, then try again, this time using Rebuild Database.
If that fails:
Option 2
Download iPhoto Library Manager and use its rebuild function. (In early versions of Library Manager it's the File -> Rebuild command. In later versions it's under the Library menu.)
This will create an entirely new library. It will then copy (or try to) your photos and all the associated metadata and versions to this new Library, and arrange it as close as it can to what you had in the damaged Library. It does this based on information it finds in the iPhoto sharing mechanism - but that means that things not shared won't be there, so no slideshows, books or calendars, for instance - but it should get all your events, albums and keywords, faces and places back.
Because this process creates an entirely new library and leaves your old one untouched, it is non-destructive, and if you're not happy with the results you can simply return to your old one.

Any OS version of 10.8.4 or later has all features that are not OS depended. The plugins are one example. You probably haven't updated all versions of Logic Pro X to the latest one.

Is your Apple Intel-based, poppelmacbook? If not, you should consider treating yourself to a new Mac. Last December I gave up my old because it just could not update...anything because it was not Intel-based. Updating everything on this OS to 10.9 has been confusing for me, but I just could not work with that old Mac because the updates were too smart? for my 10.6. It is upstairs now...for visiting family: games, garage band, etc.--things I never did use. Apple refurbished and purchase the extended warranty. Apple loyalist since late 1980's.

Did you ever find a resolution to this issue? I have a similar issue after upgrading from 7 to 10.5. I have loaded all provided certificates to the tomcat-trust store, restarted Tomcat Services and still get the same error

I didn't do anything to the LaCie when I got it.
Then that's likely the issue.
Select the drive on the Desktop and go File -> Get Info. You can find out the format in that window:
