Mainstage - how to "hold" a note - which CC is used?

Hi all,
I'd like to be able to hold a note(s) indefinitely using a momentary switch on my midi footcontroller. I tried using CC 64 but that only sustains and drops off as you know. I'd like a complete hold (same velocity, volume, etc) which CC is used for Hold if any? Or is it dependent on the software instrument?

Thanks for responding...yeah, just to give you a bit more background I'm using a MIDI guitar going into an Axon pitch to MIDI converter, Axon->RME UC, then the MIDI messages (note, etc) come in to MS via USB from the UC.
I then use a software instrument (synth, etc) and I want to be able to hold a note(s) when playing in order to then play over using another instrument. My plan is to use my Gordius MIDI footcontroller to send a "hold" CC via a momentary switch into MS to trigger the hold then let up when done but I don't know what the CC is to do that or if that functionality even exists (but can't see why it wouldn't).
There may be another way I'm not thinking about.

Many thanks JEM24 for your help. Ive just spent the best part of six hundred pounds on a new Sony Rx100m2 compact camera, so I have no interest in the Ipods camera at all really. I doubt Ill be watching many videos on it as Im very lucky in that I have a good Android tablet. Its more as a stock music player that Ill be buying the Ipod for, if indeed I do end up buying one. I dont like the idea of paying the exorbitant amount added for more memory space that Apple along with most other companies charge. In fact I read an article on this very subject just yesterday in the tech section of Flipboard. It stated in the article that in the case of the Iphone the actual cost of each additional gigabyte of storage to Apple et al is something in the order of 60p.. This is certainly not reflected in the price us the customer has to pay at the till.. Its for this reason primarily that Apple in particular, because their products do not allow adding expandable memory of your own in the form of cheap to buy cards, that nobody in their right mind buys the 64gig etc Iphones..I am aware that we are discussing my potential purchase of an Ipod Touch here but you see my point. How do I find out which instruments are used by software instrument loops?

This isn't so much a problem, it's just something that's been bugging me - how do I find out which instruments are used by the software instrument loops?
Usually clicking on a track will bring up the instrument name in the track info pane, but if I do this after importing a software instrument loop into my song it doesn't show anything. Any ideas?
PS I have used the search function so I apologise in advance if there's an obvious answer.

How can I create a material which can be used to create a sales order and can be used to create inventory using VAO1 and MB1C T-Codes respectively.
What are the configurations that I need to take care of, while creating it?
I need to create a material which can be used in the whole sales cycle(sales order,goods issue,billing and etc).

Thanks for your fast replies.. I have created a new material and was able to create inventory thru MB1C. But I was not able to generate a goods delivery(VL01N) and billing document(VF01) for the sales order.
Error: No schedule lines due for delivery up to the selected date
Message no. VL248
Diagnosis
There are no schedule lines due for the given order item up to the date chosen.
System Response
The system does not create a delivery item for this order item.
Procedure
Check whether the order item to be delivered contains confirmed schedule lines.
If this is the case, set the selection date further into the future if you still want to create a delivery for this item.

HT204053 how can i find out which id i used to purchase an app?

i can't update iphoto, imovie and garageband cause it says "sign in to the account you used to purchase it" but those were pre-installed when i bought my iMac and i don't have a second id. what can i do or how can i find out which is the right account for these apps?

How do I find out which app is using an item of hardware?

(This question may or may not require knowledge of Protools audio program to answer.)
When I try to load Protools 6.4 on my Mac, I get an error message (number 1133) saying that the DAE (Digital Audio Engine, I assume) is already being used by another app. The Avid (owner of Protools) website is of no help since it merely says to close the conflicting program, and believe it or not, some glitch prevents me from logging into their forum. So I'm hoping the Mac forum can help.
I learn from the only manual I have (Switching to the Mac: Snow Leopard edition by David Pogue: Yes, I know, I need to buy a Tiger manual)that the problem could be something loaded in the Login Items list in System Preferences > Accounts but I have gotten rid of all those. Or maybe something in Library > Startup Items or System > Library > Extensions. But there were only three items in the former (Digidesign Loader, NetGEARWLANClient Utility, and PACESupport), all of which I have moved to the trash. There are a gigantic number of items in the latter directory, and I moved only NegTEARWLANClient Utility to the trash since it least it has the same name as one of the others, though ostensibly ought not to matter.
But I still get the 'Digidesign hardware is in use by another application' error.
My manual by Pogue suggests a Safe Boot achieved by holding down the Shift key to prevent loading of the extensions, but apparently that had yet been implemented in Tiger since it doesn't work.
Having written the above, it just occurred to me to leave the Digidesign hardware unplugged till after I boot the Mac. However, before trying that, I'll post what I have so far (for fear of losing it if there's a power outage).

A question, did you just uncheck them or highlight them & click the little minus icon? Do they still show in the list? I'm not sure, but I don't think it takes effect until you restart.
Should anyone else come across this - the message is typical of not having the proper version of Pro Tools installed for the OS version being used.
In this case, the minimum Pro Tools version supported on OS 10.4.10 is 6.9.2 (or 6.8.1 with certain Digi hardware devices).

Photos-App: How do I find out which photos are used in a Shared Photo Stream?

Hi folks,
I just ecountered a “problem“ using a Shared Photo Stream.
FYI: I have circa 1.200 images stored in Photos-App. About 360 of them are used in a Shared Photo Stream.
Now I'd like to delete all the fotos NOT used in said Stream.
Since the images in said Stream are not in the same order as they were originally taken, there are also many images between the ones used.
So now I am confronted with the time-consuming task of comparing and deleting the photos, switching between Stream and Album/webview all the time.
And do it all by hand. Naaaaaaaah! ):
Any ideas on how to speed up this whole process?
(I already wrote Apple to maybe add a label or icon to the photos used in a Stream (when in any other view) so it gets easier to identify the right ones.)

Incorrect. Photos added to the Camera Roll are automatically uploaded to Photo Stream. Photos deleted from the Camera Roll are not automatically deleted from Photo Stream.

First create a chart.
Now right click on chart > format picture > web
copy the code.
now you may delete it.
insert a picture which you want.
right click > format picture > web
paste the code.

How to read PDF files which are made using LiveCycle in VS

I make some pdf templates using LiveCycle.
I want to get the value correspond to the field name of PDF files.
For example, I create the text field which is named "Employee ID".

I have Oracle 8.1.6 installed in ORACLE_HOME and Developer 6i
runtime installed in DEV_HOME. I could not install both in one
home either. I had the same connectivity problems as you, and I
found out that my tnsnames.ora file was not set in both the
homes.
You might have to edit the files and name the database alias
yourself. I tried creating alias as PRD in both the homes using
the Net 8 utility; one turned out as PRD.world and the other
turned out as PRD.AUM.COM.MY!

How to automatically name files which are saved using " Write to spreadsheet" individually?

I'm making a program which will save image data (i.e pixel intensity) and the save the data to a text file. Works great but I need it to automatically name each textfile as I will be taking n number of image date in a certain amount of time and don't want to waste time writing each file name.
Any tips would be hugely appreciated,

Hi Shack,
you need to create your filename programmatically. As they are just strings you should use string functions to do so!
Then use "Append Path" to create a full filepath wired to your file function…

Host-name - how do I find out which one to use ?

Within a project I need to setup an MAC-OS-X server - since I am neither a network pro nor very familiar with MAC I am stuck with a quite simple question:
In one of the first windows of the installation process (Mac OS-X 10.4.3) Server) I am asked to provide host-name, computername and rendezvous name.
The computername is clear - but especially the hostname I don't know what to enter (the example given: www.domain.tld) does confuse me) but also what rules do apply for the rendezvous name ?. The server is not directly connected to the internet, it will be a dept. server within a university .
I feel quite stupid asking for this but I can't afford wasting more time with this little thing. Thanks it advance for the help and patience with me.

Unless your network is setup as an intranet, with a dns server resolving hostnames, you shouldn't need to worry about the hostname setting. As for rendezvous, it's usually in my experience, is the same as the computer name.

How do I tell iCal which email address to use in Address Book?

iCal's help files on how to set an email alarm for iCal are clear as mud to me. If I click on alarm in Info of an event, select email as type of alarm, then a popup says must add card with name and own email in Address Book. Fine, click on Open Address Book. Well, then what? I already have more than one card in there with an email address for me. Even if I select one, nothing happens. So how do I make the connection? How can I tell iCal which card to use? I see nothing in Address Book menus or help files.

Been dealing with a similar issue for about 3 years now, so I know your pain. Apple will not solve this problem because they're a stickler for standards, no matter what the rest of the world really needs. Since I'm a developer at heart, I decided to tackle the problem on my own and built a software product called Zamain for Mac to support sending Apple iCal invitations from multiple Apple Mail email accounts.
