Maint plan generating call before cycle.

Hi
I created single strategy plan for a fleet equipment
the cycle maintained is 250 mi (At 250 miles i need a notification)
The last counter reading is 200 mi only.
But when i run IP30 by giving the maint plan only it creating a notification.
If i execute IP30 again also it is generating notification.
Why it is creating notification before 250 mile is reached ?

Annual Estimate should be maintained in case of even Measurement document is not created, but based on experience, if Maintenance Call object needs to be generated.
Also Annual Estimate is optional field, you can leave blank. While creating Maintenance Plan by assigning that Measuring Point, it will you Information message as Annual Estimate has not been maintained. You can skip that message & go with scheduling based on Measurement Document.
As you maintain 10000 in Annual Estimare, notification has been created immediately. Calculation would be 10000 for 365 days. So for example cycle value is 500, then 20 call objects would be created once in 18.25 days.
Annual estimate should be realistic. Also for your requirement, it is not required.

it is not possible to change call object in a maintenance plan. Even u create a new maintenance plan with same category u cant assign notification as call object. U hv to create Maintenance Plan category which has call object notification, then u can proceed.

Scheduling for certain Equipment only from a maint. plan

Hello,
I have maintained many Equipment as separate line item in a Main. Plan. While scheduling, I donèt see option to select certain Equipment only.
I would like to maintain one or few main. plan, one each for a set of equipment. And then call a few from that one set of equipment. E.g. Total Equipment 120,000. 10 types each 120,000. Thus 10 maint. plans. Call Type I/Maint. Plan 1 and Schedule 1-10,000 on Jun 1. Call Type 2/Main Plan 2 and Schedule 10,001-20,000 on Jul 1 and so on.
Any suggestion please!

There is no way to do equipment wise scheduling in IP30. you have to create separate maintenance plans equipment wise and try using sort field in additional so that you can schedule maintenance plan bit easily.

System Condition is not picked from TL while generating calls from Plan

Hi,
I've marked System condition field at work order header as required.
However, the system doesn't pick up that field from Task List when generating call from maint plan.. that would still be not populated therefore preventing e.g. from bulk release..
Do you know why is that? looks like a system bug or so..

I have to revive that topic..
defining system condition as decribed before seems to be working only for work order being called from maintenance plan
on the other hand, for notification generated from plan and then transformed to work orders defining system condition at task list details at item level does not work..
also ,defining system condition at TL header doesn't help (like in order example)..
at the same time, defining system condition at operation level are getting transferred to order with no problem..
do you have an idea?

Strategy plan: deletion of shortest cycle & determination of call horizon

Dear colleagues,
I'm facing a weird situation on a strategy plan:
Initially I had following packages assigned in the task list: 1, 3 & 12 months. There have also been calls for the 1 month package.
In the meanwhile I have deleted the 1 month package from the task list and only 3 and 12 months is active.
When I take a look in IP10 at the next plan and call dates, I recognize that the call horizon for the call date is still calculated from the 1 months package.
I think this is not correct - or did I simply miss to do a restart in IP10 after deletion of the 1 month package in the task list?

Hi Santosh,
I've tried to use the refresh button in IP10. After saving IP10 the situation is not getting better - the difference between plan and call date is still calculated based on the lowest cycle (1 month), which was deleted from the task list in the meanwhile.
I've tried to run IP30 after the scheduling update in IP10 - but no change in situation.
Did I miss anything or understand something wrong?
Nevertheless, for the users it's be more easy to just push a button in IP10, then using the restart function with selecting a the right package as offset.

Completion requirement tick in maint plan

requirement: when maint.pan is scheduled by ip10 then if in maint.plan header the completetion requirement tick is made.then irrespecive of that tick ip10 should generate orders but if earlier order is delayed by "x" days then next order should shift accordingly by "x" days
pls guide how to map the scenario

You have to remove completion required check box as it prevents the generation of work order until unless last work order have status TECO.I will suggest to use the FIXED call option in IP10 to delay the call as per your requirement if you dont want
to remove the check box for completion required.

ya it is for palnt maintenance and for "preventive maintenance" planning and scheduling jobs.
u mean cover the equipments in equal number og maint-plans, cover all such plans in / under one maint-item.
now we have in way that one maint plan has more than one maint-item, and we are getting many work orders may be equal to number of maint-items, but our maint engineers want that all those being done at same time, so why not we make one work-order - but it should maintain equipment history.
i notice you are proposing opposit to what we have now.
In your proposed way will the equipment hisotry will be maintained for each equipment, that PM was called on --, planned for -- and completed on -- has been done.

Material Requirement- Maint Plans

Dear All,
I have created many plans for the whole year and it has many tasklists with many components assigned. Now as per call dates order will be generated and then only material availability check will happen. May be during many call dates few material may not be available (because of larger lead times)and thats why plan can not be executed on exact dates. Now how to ensure today(know beforehand) itself that what are my future call objects(orders) requirements in terms of materials(spares).

When a order is committed with components for reservation or PR creation only, MRP run will takes place. If you prefer the commitment should takes place before 3 weeks, then u have to maintain the call horizon for the maintenance plan, to call the object 3 weeks before.
If u have maintain the MRP fields in the Material master only the MRP run will takes place for the materials which are committed in the order...
I hope this is only solution, we have in PM.

How to generate a single cycle of a waveform?

I need to generate a single cycle of a waveform. Is this possible?
The help document for function "niFgen_ConfigureOperationMode()" says, "NI signal generators support only Continuous operation mode." I guess this statement is pretty clear but it sure shoots a hole in my plans. We just bought this arb assuming it can do this. Is is really not possible to generate just one cycle of a waveform?
My arb is a PXI-5412.

This is possible with your device.
You can do an Arbitrary Sequence of the waveform you want, then take an external pulse and use triggering to send that sequence however often you desire.
Look for the "Arbitrary Waveform Mode" topic in the NI Signal Generators Help under Start > National Instruments > NI-FGEN > Documentation for more information on this mode.

Method call before visual web jsf page loads

Hi All.....
I have written a method in a java class that accesses the mysql backend db to check if a process is still running. If the process is still running, a JOptionPane is produced informing the user of this and offers an <ok> option(to check the process status again) and a <cancel> option(to redirect the user to the homepage). If the process is completed, I want the page to just load as normal. I want this method to be called before the visual web jsf page loads. I have the method call in the super_init() method of the page and everything seemed to be working fine, the problem I have run into is that if I set the value in the db to show the process is running, the JOptionPane is produced(like it should be), and then if I set the value to show the process has completed and choose <ok> from the pane, the page loads.....this is what I want. Now, after the page loads, if I set the value in the db to show the process is running again, the JOptionPane is produced again right after I apply the changes to the db edit!!!!. I don't know why this is happening. Should I be calling the method from somewhere other the super_init()????? I have tried the method call in the prerender(), preprocess(), and destroy() methods all with the same results.
Anyone have any ideas on what the problem could be??

The Java part of a JSP/Servlet based webapplication runs physically at the server machine.
Only the HTML/CSS/JS part which is generated by the webapplication and sent to the client physically runs at the client machine.
JOptionPane is a Java Swing component which thus runs at the server machine. So you as client would only see it when both the server and the client runs at physically the same machine. Which is often only the case in development environment and doesn´t occur in real life! There is normally means of two physically different machines connected through the network/internet.
To solve your actual problem, look for Ajax poll techniques. To display an alert or confirm dialogue in the client side, you use Javascript for this.

How to design maint plans

Hi friends ,
I have one equipment for which different maint tasks i have to perform
Sr no      Check point description                    frequency
1     Replace Hyd pp RL filter                              4 weeks
2     Replace GB oil for X axis mechanism     3 months
3      Chk flywheel motor current                      15 days
4      Clean heat exchanger if outlet water temp is more than 70 degrees
5     Lubricate flywheel brg after every        200 running hours
Is it possible with one maint plan or i have to apply diff plans
Can i include all tasks in same task list

A maintainance plan has maitainance items.
Attach this equipment to each maitainance items & attach task list pertaining to each equipment.
But when you want to schedule them differently I think you need different maintainance plans with different cycle duration.

Reschduling the maint plan

Dear Friends
I would like to have some idea. Basically our maint plans are running back ground for order generation in automatic. But sometimes it is getting stopped by unknown reason.example last week call is stopped.
Now the users are reactivating
the by IP30. But after the job release the system producing two orders 1. past order is falling on today ent (job executed date) date 2. future order date. Here the stopped schdule order should not create on today date. The future order is acceptable .
How to control the stopped schdule falling on today date?

this field is mandatory because the same text will be copied to maintenance order description once generated through maintenance plan

The sort field is used to 'sort' plans according to different criteria that you need to configure.
For e.g. If a company has 200 Maintenance plans and you want to know all the plans valid for a certain division of the company. You can have these plans sorted as per company division.
You will need to configure the sort fields in IMG. If company name is COMP, then sort fields may be
COMPDIV1, COMPDIV2 etc (just an example).
For scheduling maintenance plans indvidually IP10 may be used. However in real scenarios. the transaction IP30 is used to do a scheduling of all the maintenance plans together.
