Maintain changes in Thumbnail in Bridge

I had some issues with Bridge a few days ago. The typical view of thumbnails I was used to, where underneath my thumbnail was some info (date/time/name/size) was missing, it was just the thumbnails. I reset my workspace and got back to the view I was used to. But now I have a different issue. When I open an image in Camera Raw, process it, then close it, the changes don't appear in the thumbnails in Bridge. This is new. I've used Adobe Bridge along with Camera Raw and Photoshop for a decade, all the way back to PS3, and this is the first time I've seen this. Anyone know what's going on, how I can correct it? Thanks, Dave

If you use embedded thumbnails they will not show raw edits.  Have to use one of HQ thumbs.

  • Camera raw images change colour in adobe bridge

I have photoshop CS4 and import my camera raw images into Adobe Bridge.  When I view the thumbnails in bridge my raw images look vibrant and exactly like they appear on the camera but when I go to open them in camera raw edit they change colour and look washed out before I've made any changes.  Can anyone help me figure out how to correct this?

My camera is set to shoot sRGB JPGs and is set to all zeros for the brightness/contrast/saturation parameters.
What is your camera set to as far as these basic toning settings, as well as any automatic things like DLighting or highlight compression and perhaps any custom curves or whatever that is called for Nikons?
First paragraph - so is mine.
Second paragraph - all other settings are neutral/zeroed/turned off, as per my post to which you responded. That is, no additional tone curves - Active D-Lighting turned OFF (why anyone would let the camera decide what to do do with highlights and shadows is beyond my level of trust) , Jpg compression is Optimal (least possible) et cetera.
Think I now have an explanation for the different displays in ACR (and Bridge) that I have been experiencing. Took a new duplicate Jpg/Raw shot with the in-camera Picture Control set to Neutral. Now, when both the Jpg and .NEF Raw are viewed in ACR, with the ACR Camera profile set to Camera Neutral, they appear, ASAICT, identical. Saved Camera Neutral as the default ACR Camera profile. Now back in Bridge, the images also appear pretty much identical.
I think what was happening previously was that I had failed to save Camera Standard in ACR as the default Camera profile, and it was defaulting to Adobe Standard, and hence it was rendering Raw thumbnails for Bridge to that Camera profile - hence the difference in appearance between the Jpg and Raw in Bridge. Unless I have got it completely wrong,  I think my problem is now solved.

  • InDesign thumbnails in Bridge CS4

I've noticed that some InDesign CS2 and CS4 files do not show thumbnails in Bridge CS4. I tried the Build and Export Cache function in the Tools menu and nothing changed. Any suggestions?
Also, I would be interested in a Bridge extension for harvesting thumbnails for old PageMaker 6.5 and 7 files.

Here is a link that has the same problem.  No real jump in your face solultion, but hopefully it will help guide you.

  • Help! can't see CR2 thumbnails In Bridge

    what can I try?
I cannot see the thumbnails in Bridge but can go into CS4 and open them up no problem
I shoot Canon 5d Mark II
    I downloaded Camera Raw 5.3
works fine for my regular 5D but no on the new Mark II
    any suggestions?
    thanks!

Hi - Joan's husband here (I built the computer hardware for her, but don't
really know Photoshop that well). I did a search for "camera raw" files and
found a second instance located in the adobe/common files folder (not in
program file subfolders as the proper plugin is located per instructions).
It was the 5.0 version, and I could not do anything with it, eg delete it as
it "was in use by a program", even though I had no prgrams open. I was able
to rename it to "old camera raw 5-0", and I copied the new camera raw 5.4
version into that folder. I rebooted and now had 3 camera raw plugins
appearing in CS4/hlep/about/plugins drop down list.
I then went back into the common file folder and was able to delete the old
camera raw file. I now have two camera raw files appearing in the
help/aboutplugins dropdwon, but they are both the same 5.4 version. Now I am
able to see a selection to generate a high quality thumbnail for the cs2
files in Bridge when I right-clicked on those, and this generated the
thumbnails for all of those file types. All is well now (I hope !!), thanks
    for your input and advice.
I did purge the cache, but that didn't change anything as far as I could
tell. Also, the 5.4 update doesn't show the Canon 5D Mark II on the list of
updated cameras for this revision, so I don't think it is a necessary update
for this specific camera, but probably good to stay current.
If this was an "end-run" around a proper fix then I would like to know the
    proper way to resolve this.

  • How to show rating dots and file name underneath thumbnail in Bridge CS4 preview workspace?

How to show rating dots and file name underneath thumbnail in Bridge CS4 preview workspace?

Thank you! That was it. The option to change it is not available in preferences (though I believe it was in early CS versions). It's hidden in a dropdown menu associated with an icon at the top. It sure wasn't easy to find, and I probably would not have done so without your lead. Thanks again!

  • Tiff Thumbnails in Bridge Overexposed

I'm currently using Bridge 2.1.1.9. Once I convert the RAW file into TIFF format the thumbnail preview looks overexposed. It doesn't look like anyone has resolved this issue so I wanted to bring it to the top again. My Raw files look close enough to the photoshop file in the thumbnail preview. Although I was also wondering if there is anyway to color manage so that Bridge's preview is identical to what the image looks like in PS?
I've tried purging, changing the thumbnails preview preferences and selecting software rendering on but there was no change in the preview.
I've been trying to resolve this for some time but no luck. The other photogapher I work with is having the same issue. We are working off of our company network if that helps...although it doesn't sound like there is a problem.
    Thanks for any input.

I have selected the fastest thumbnails without success. I can just save the
image as a TIF and see the changes.
Choosing the prefer Embedded thumbnails is what it says, it shows the thumbnail that is embedded when you have created it. first with the camera, after that saving as a new file (e.g. tiff) creates a new embedded thumbnail that shows the changes if you saved the file that had changes to it.
As long as the thumb is surrounded by a thick black border it has not cached as preview with or without ACR settings.
If you have the Path bar in Bridge active (see if under the menu window there is a checkmark in front of 'path bar' you will see at the right side the little checker board icons most left of the row. The left checkerboard icon is for 'embedded thumbs only the right icon gives you the option HQ on demand and Always HQ.
If speed is really such an issue you could choose HQ on demand but to be honest, if you wait a little longer with the setting Always HQ and let Bridge do its caching first you gain more speed in the following process of searching and selecting files, because they already are HQ and don't need to build previews or reflect settings after you have changed those

  • How do I change the thumbnail for a video file?

Can I change the thumbnail for a video file (ex. .mov) in Bridge CS4?

Can I change the thumbnail for a video file (ex. .mov) in Bridge CS4?
Not to my knowledge. It seems it takes a snapshot from about the 10th second of the movie and creates a thumbnail for it. On a Mac the finder thumbnail shows the first frame of a movie, both don't seem to be able in getting customized.
It will be down to a good naming convention I'm afraid. Not having CS4 installed anymore but on Bridge CS6 .mov files play on an reasonable sized scale in good quality in the preview window, maybe that will help you?

  • Displaying thumbnails in Bridge CS2

Hello, I've organized the photos from my Canon Digital Rebel XT in Adobe Bridge CS2 (Version 1.0.4.6) for years without a problem.  I shoot in RAW and those files are approx. 7 MB in size.  I recently received a Canon T3i and the files sizes are approx. 3 times as large and I'm having trouble getting Bridge to display a thumbnail.  I can't imagine it's a file size issue since I routinely have .psd files that are 70 MB and larger that I have no trouble having Bridge display a thumbnail.  The photos from both cameras are CR2.  Is there a settings in Bridge I should adjust?
Any other ideas why I can't get the photos from the new camera to display as thumbnails in Bridge?
    Thanks for your help :-)

The fact that they have the same extension is irrelevant.  The files are fundamentally different.
The Canon T3i was supported for the first time in ACR 6.4 and later, which only run with CS5.
There is and there will be no version of ACR that will work with Bridge CS2 to open files from the T3i.
Your only option would be to use the free Adobe DNG Converter to convert your raw CS2 files to raw DNGs that you can then open in CS2.
If you have an Intel Machine, you want version 6.6 of the Adobe DNG Converter.  If your machine is older than the Intel Macs, e.g. any kind of Power Mac, then you need version 6.4 of the free Adobe DNG Converter, as later versions will not run on non-Intel machines.

  • Is there a way to change the thumbnails for movies/videos?

This may be more of a Leopard question, but I'm wondering if there's a way to change the thumbnail that OSX and Front Row display of movie files. I think this feature is awesome but would love to have more control over it so I can pick a frame from the video that relevant to me. Imagine Front Row's menu for movies with a bunch of thumbnails that are title screens or your favorite scenes from your movie collection (rather than a random thumbnail that may or may not even be identifiable to that movie).
I've already included this request to Apple in a suggestion I sent along including a few other Front Row requests/suggestions I had including movie/video playlists, album art support over streaming/shared libraries, and music that doesn't stop playing when you return to the main menu.

It appears that "saving" doesn't impact the quality, but wraps the file up in the .mov format (size and quality appear to stay the same). It worked ("saving" instead of using the save as a reference movie seems to fix the starting playback from the poster-frame issue). However, now a new issue has come up... I like to save the files to DVD as the original .avi so they will play on our Philips DVD players. However, being wrapped up in .mov means I have to have two versions of the file, and if my HDD ever dies or fills up I'll have to always correct the poster frame, and save another copy from the .avi original. Kind of frustrating... I wish Front Row/Quick Time would let you easily change the thumbnail and not have to change the format, etc.
Thanks everyone for your help. Hopefully some of this feedback has helped others with similar questions.

  • Preview thumbnails in Bridge CS4

After several years of being able to preview thumbnails in Bridge CS4, I can no longer do so.

Reset prefernces.   Hold down ctrl key, option on mac, and you should get a reset window.

  • RAW images from D300 appear as thumbnails in Bridge

I have CS3 and ACR 4.5 and Windows XP, for the past month all RAW files from D300 have loaded perfectly and opened fine. Yesterday, I loaded files and they appear only as thumbnails in Bridge. I am not able to rotate, or apply any adjustments to these thumbnails. If I double-click them, they open as RAW files in ACR, and I can proceed and work on them as I normally would.
Another strange thing: all of the other files I have loaded from my D300 now react the same way, even though they were perfectly fine before. Images from D2x are fine.
Should I try to uninstall/reinstall Bridge? Any other suggestions? There have been similar threads here, but not this specifically.
    thanks
    alan

I just experienced the same phenomenon. It actually started in the middle of a session working in the Bridge. Other then the thumbnail appearing there were a couple of other strange symptoms I noticed when this happened to me.
    1. If first happened to some files, then got worse as I went back and forth between folders. However, it never effected all the raw files. Some stayed as normal.
    2. It effected .ORF files and .DNG files equally.
    3. For both files effected and those not effected it created a corresponding .XMP file in the folders
    4. If used the DNG converter to convert the ORF files to DNG the resulting DNG files appeared as normal thumbnails.
In any event the reset suggested by Curt did work, and restored everything back to normal.

  • No Thumbnails in Bridge CS5

I have no thumbnail previews Bridge CS5, just empty boxes.

    I have installed cs5 extended.
bridge will not create thumbnails for my RAW images from the canon t2
    1/550
the newest RAW plugin update is dated April 21, the RAW plugin which installs with CS5 is dated April 3 I believe??
I downloaded the April 21 RAW update and replaced the RAW file formats that came with CS5, with the latest as directed on the Adobe Website.
Now bridge will not create thumbnails for any RAW files from the Canon 40D on up
Photoshop will open all RAW files fine including all supported as of April 21, including all RAW formats supported with the RAW file format updates from April 21,
and the RAW converter works fine, and saves the T2i CR images in DNG format as well.
However nothing works in Bridge, and and cannot import using bridge and convert to DNG simultaneously.
Is there a fix for bridge and this problem?
    Thanks

  • .NRW files not displaying thumbnails in Bridge

.NRW RAW files from Nikon P7800 do not display thumbnails or metadata in Bridge. PsCC, Bridge and CR 8.3 are all showing as up to date on CC Desktop App. Files display correctly in Lr 5.3. Any suggestions ?

    I have:
    PhotoshopCC>Edit>Preferences>CameraRaw>8.3.0.141
    BridgeCC>Edit>CameraRawPreferences>8.2.0.94
The computer found  6 files  named Camera Raw.8bi.  They are in pairs , two in the CS5 folder and two in the CS6 folder, two in the CC folder. One of each pair has >Program Files(x86)> The other one has  >Program Files>.
When I go to C:\ Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\ only one (Camera Raw.8bi) file shows. This was created on 18 March 2013 and modified on 3 December 2013.
If I go to C:\Program Files(x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Plug-Ins\CC\File Formats\ another (Camera Raw.8bi) file appears, created and modified same date and time as the first one.
Is this making any sense ? Thanks for your help.
It appears Bridge is using CR 8.2, the question is why and how do I persuade it to preference CR 8.3
By the way, I failed to mention it previously CR is converting and editing the NRW files normally, I just can't see their thumbnails in Bridge.

  • How to maintain change history for a custom field

    Hi All,
I have added a new custom field in standard table FKKVKP by appending a new structure to FKKVKP. Now this custom field will appear in transaction CAA2. My requirement is I have to maintain change history for my custom field. In transaction SCDO I have seen that there is an object MKK_VKONT that maintains change history for FKKVKP entries. But I am not aware how to adjust this field so that SAP generates change history for my custom field as well.
    Thanks in advance,

I have never used these tables but I have working experience with change docs.
The Z field which you have added should be in the above structures, then you should be able to see that field in the changes.
Of course change document should be set to that field-data element.
