Maintain JCO destination button is disabled

I am getting the following error when trying to log in to MSS:
"com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeE xception: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'SAP_R3_SelfServiceGenerics_MetaData' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD."
When going to Content Administration->WebDynpro Content->Maintain JCO destinations, the button "Maintain JCO destinations" is disabled.  I am logged in as an adminsitrator.
Can someone help?
Tiberiu

I tried from Visual Administrator->SLD Data Supplier to trigger SLD data supply. I get the following error: "Failed to send HTTP data:401. Unauthorized".
I also checked the SLD logs and I found this:
"#14 08/28/2008 08:11:37.910 [SAPEngine_Application_Thread[impl:3]_35] WARNING com.sap.lcr.cimsrv.ChangePasswordServlet: Password change required for WBEM client. Please ensure that service client users don't have initial passwords. Alternatively, logon to the SLD user interface with the corresponding user and assign a new password. After the password has been changed, client settings must be updated accordingly. "
Is it possible the SLDSUSER password expired somehow?

    Hi BenChen,
You need to create JCO Destination in the SAP Portal >> Content Administration >> Web dynpro >> Maintain Jco Destinations.
If "Create" button not active, then you need to check SLD running or not and SLD data supplier.

  • Maintaining JCO destinations

    HI experts,
We are using a standard sdn example for flight booking . We have downloaded zip file from sdn. We did all the steps to build the project in the netweaver studio help. After deployment we are not able to maintain JCO destinations. The error is " Unable to obtain JCO destinations and it a system landscape exception". We tried to create our own JCO destinations but the same.

    Hi,
        Login to http://host:port/index.html
Go to Webdynpro -> Content Administrator. Click on 'Maintain JCo Destinations'.
The JCo connections you have created should be in green colour. If so, try to test the two connections (meta and model data) first. If both are successful, then ping them and check. If it works, then check from the project if you are using the right JCo connectors. If everything is fine, then it should work.

  • Maintaining JCO Destination

    Hi Experts,
After Installing EP and connecting through our BW System, i got stuck in maintaining JCO destination through Content Administration.
Initially on the screen of maintaining JCO Destination, the Status is RED for all the Data sources, now when i click on create. it shows an Error Message which is
500 Internal Server Error - Failed to process request. Please contact your system administrator.
       java.lang.NullPointerException
I searched a lot on the Forums and on service marketplace, and based on the search result i did some changes like,
    1) Upgrading all the SP's from SP09 to SP10
    2) changing the J2EE Admin HTTP Provider properties
             a) ServletInputStreamTimeout
             b) ServletsLongDataTransferTimeout
             c)  ServletsLongDataTransferCallbackSize
    3) I also changed the Explorer from Internet Explorer to Mozilla.
The Environment is Windows 2000 Server with Oracle10.
    NW7.0 SR2 SP10
Still not able to hit the right stone. Please help me in this regards.

    Hey Deepu,
Thanks for the quick reply. What to maintain in the Host file ?
Only IP and Host name is there.
One more thing it worked once yesterday, but after filling all the required information and clicking on Finish it displayd the same error.
The Windows is also 2003 Server and not 2000. Sorry for the mistake.

  • JCO Destinations Not Maintainable from Web Dynpro Content Administrator

I have Netweaver Preview 04s installed.  Both SLD and app server are running on the same local machine.
    1) I have tested connection to SLD from WD Content Admin OK Message.
    2) I have created the two destinations using WD Content admin with
sucess message that it was created in SLD, but the destinations do not
appear under maintain JCO Destinations of WD Content Admin after creation.
    3) The JCO Destinations are not found in SLD when the wd app is deployed.
    4) The JCO Destinations are found under the deployed components within WD
Content admin but listed as Status Not defined.  The create link is enabled but
trying to re-create the items leads to error that they are already defined in SLD.
    5) I have added SLD admin privileges to the Administrator user.
    6) The Test, Ping etc are disabled greyed-out on the two destinations. Only create
is enabled but this leads to the error message that it has already been defined
        in SLD.
    7) I have clicked on start assigned SLD and checked status is running.
I don't know how the WD Content Admin can detect the destinations have already been created and yet the destinations do not appear under the Maintain JCO destinations column, nor is it possible to test etc.   I should note that Netweaver Admin indicates that SLD is not accessible.  As I indicated, I did check that connection worked from WD Content Admin.

    John,
If you have more than one user Id's to login in to the Portal, then try to login with Super Admin role and then check the JCo connections there.
Search for the JCo connections you have created and test them.
Also have you given J2EE host name and SAP logon information correctly or not, do check them once.
    regards

Can anyone please help me in this.
    Thanks and regards,
    Mayuresh.

    Hi Mayuresh,
In nwa go to Configuration Management->Infrastructure->SLD Data Supplier Connection->Destinations.
    Create a Destination.
Ping the destination to check if it is successful.
After that you can create a JCO Connection.

  • Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'WD_FLIGHTLIST_RFC_METADATA_DEST' i

    Dear all,
When i was running a Wec dynpro Application created with The abap Function Modul BAPI_FLIGHT_GETLIST, a error          "com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'WD_FLIGHTLIST_RFC_METADATA_DEST' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD. "
happened. Can someone tell me how to sole this error? Thanks .
    Rgds,
    Sweet.

    Hi,
when you are creating Adaptive RFC Model .
in the 2nd step it will ask for 2 things
1.Define the logical system name for model instances
2.Define the logical system name for RFC Metadata.
what ever the names you give here you have to create JCO destinations for that.
    Logon to portal.
    navigate to content Administartion---->webdynpro
there you have a button "Maintain JCO Destinations".
    click on that
In the table you will find WD_FLIGHTLIST_RFC_METADATA_DEST
with status with an icon in red color.
That is indicating that you are JCO destination is not created.
click on create button and follow the below link from page no 25-27

  • JCO destination created but NOT showing up in SLD.

We have a portal with a centralized SLD which is tested successfully.
We created a JCO destination on the portal successfully.
    However,
    1) we cannot test the new jco , all buttons are disabled except the "create" button;
    2) if we click above "create" button, we end up with "Jco already exist, cannot create";
    3) we go to the centralized SLD, see no jco destination there for this portal.
    Very strange. Please help. Thanks!

  • JCo Destinations are not visible

    Hi Friends,
I created JCo destinationation in WebDynpro Console by clicking the button "JCO Create Destination", getting message created successfully.
If I click the button "Maintain JCO Destinations", not able to see the destination. If I create new one again with the same name it is not allowing me.
    Please help in this.
    Regards,
    Lakshmi Prasad.

    Hi Lakshmi,
I think there is problem with your SLD.
Please check your SLD is running and also check the SLD Data Suplier fetching data successful or not in the Visual Administrator.
    Thanks

  • Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST'

    Hi Experts,
I am using NWDS 7.1 ehp1 version and  i developed a sample application here to retreive the data from r/3.
when i try to execute the application it's giving the following error..
com.sap.tc.webdynpro.services.exceptions.WDRuntimeException: Failed to resolve JCO destination name 'WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST' in the SLD. No such JCO destination is defined in the SLD.
can anybody help me to solve this issue..
    thanks,
    viswa

    Hi,
    First test your destination.
    'WD_RFC_METADATA_DEST'
Login as an Administrator, then click on "Check SLD", Check if if in your System Landscape Directory Both the ABAP technical system and a Web AS JAVA. are created or not????
If not create the two systems.
If they are already created then,
click on "Maintain JCo Destinations" and there you can see all the applications and their corrosponding metadatas. If JCo is already created then status comes in green color or else status comes in red color.
Check if these JCos are created or not....
If they are not created then create the JCo destinations.
If they are already created then Ping them....
But as per your error, it seems like you haven't maintained JCo destinations.
