Maintain language-dependent MIME objects

Hi all,
I have created a web dynpro view where an IFRAME is embedded which displays a PDF document. The PDF is uploaded as a language-dependent MIME object (so it also appears in the 'MIMEs' folder in SE80). Everything works fine.
But how to translate resp. uploading different language versions of the PDF? In the log. document properties I have set 'Translation-Relevant=Set'. In my understanding it should be possible to use one single PDF name in development, upload different language versions and depending on the logon language the right PDF language version should be displayed. But I cannot find anything in SE80 or SE63. Who can help?

If it's a document why don't you use the document object instead? You can find it in CV04n set of transactions.

Language dependent system objects

We have implemented EP60 SP12 and have 16 languages to cater for. We have created 16 different system objects, one per language. There are only two differences in these objects.
One is the name (System name)
The second is ISA B2B Relative Path. This is set to /b2b/init.do?portal=YES&shop=UK_SHOP. UK_SHOP changes in each system object. Is it possible to use a parameter in place of hardcoding the shop name. This would allow us to then only have one system object. All the language dependant entries are delta's from a base object, but it would ne neater if we could only have one entry.

Language - Dependent Text in web template

Hi All,
I am using BI7.0 can anybody please tell me how to maintain 'LANGUAGE DEPENDENT TEXT'.
I have gone through various documents that provides the way to maintain it using the report, i did the same (although maintaining text through report is obsolete in BI7.0) but achieved nothing. Maintained the text but when i logon using French my web item does not show up the maintained text in french.
Can any one please tell me how to achieve the same. It will be a great help for me.

LANGUAGE dependent TEXT data load to Infoobject

Hi,
We had Z infoobject with LANGUAGE dependent TEXT data.
We had a Z table in ECC in which the Text data of the Z info object is maintained.
Table Structure:
ZObjects : Lanuage:1-Text : Lanuage:2-Text
Now i created a data on the Z table and extracted data to PSA and sample data is like below
KEY,English Text,German Text134,potato,Kartoffel
145,chocolate,Schokolade
150,biscuit,Keks
Please update me how can i load this data as LANGUAGE dependent TEXT data of the Infoobject.

My understanding of the problem is you have text in english ( second field) and german ( 3rd field) while first field being the key.
If m understanding is correct please read further.
1. Your target InfoObject text table will have a structure like below
Key Langu Text
2. Create one transformation Rule Group which will have mapping.
Key ( DataSource) to Key ( InfoObject Text Table)
                                   Langu ( "EN" as constant value)
second filed   to   Short/Medium/Long text in (Text Table)
3. Create another Rule Group which will have the mapping for German.
Key ( DataSource) to Key ( InfoObject Text Table)
                                    Langu ( "DE" as constant value)
Third field   to Short/Medium/Long text in (Text Table)
Below how to document will give you an idea of Rule Group.

LANGUAGE DEPENDANT TEXT

WHAT IS THE USE OF MARKING TEXTS AS LANGUAGE DEPENDANT UNDER THE MASTER/DATA TEXTS TAB WHILE CREATING CHARACTERISTIC INFOOBJECTS? AND HOW DOES IT AFFECT THE TRANSFORMATION?

This option is there to help load different language text for same master data. Say there is one material and this has it's description maintained in 3 languages. And based on users login language we want the language to be selected in report as description for this master.
So, in this case language dependent text can be used.
Now say the data to load from source is coming with master value and the description and the language key (EN for English, DE for German, RU for Russia and so on and so forth).
Scenario for 3.5
=============
To load the Text for this material you can use this data. Add 0Langu, Master Object and 0Txtsh (is you are using short text or accordingly Business Object for long and medium text) in communication structure.
In transfer rule map master object with master data field, 0Txtsh with description data field and 0langu with language key data.
If only one data key say EN is there and so language key is not part of incoming data then you can just set that language key, EN in our example, as constant value.
Scenario for 7.0
=============
For this also the mapping will be same. Only that the mapping will have to be done in Transformation.

How to display the 'language code' for language dependent 'Short text' ?

Can somebody help me with the following issue?
I have an attribute 'Material category description' and I chose short text exists and made it language dependent. I had loaded the master data successfully.
Now I want to know how to check the 'language code' for this material category description. When I display the data, will the language code display by defalult?
I had checked the text table using SE11
It displays the following fields over there.
/BIC/TS1_MCT_DS   [ /BIC/TS1(InfoObject name) ]
LANGU
TXTSH

I went to RSD1 -> info-object -> Master Data/text tab. It shows my language selections there (Short text selected, language time dependent etc.) with everything grayed out.
In SE16, I could display the data in the following format.
/BIC/ST_PRID                TXTSH                 TXTMD
P01                                   umbrella                 rainyday
P02                                  tent                         waterproof
etc.
I want to see the 'language code' as one of the columns in this table.
Can you help me do that?

How to disable the Language dependent option for 0PROJECT and 0WBS_ELEMT

Hi Friends,
            Some Info Objects are re installed in latest version that's why DBW and QBW is not sinked. that's why giving transports errors.
           In DBW both Info Objects(0PROJECT and 0WBS_ELEMT) having the option text language dependent is checked. I go for disable that option it is not accepting to disable.
          when i am going to delete the data from both the info objects it's not deleting the data from both the objects. it is giving message some master data is not deleting.
       Please give me solution for this how to disable text language dependent option for both the objects.

Hi Rajesh,
          i did that changes in RSD1 but not accepting that change.
It is showing the error message for The Text Table /BI0/TPROJECT must be converted incompatibly with an activation of characteristic 0PROJECT (changes to the key in the table). Table /BI0/TPROJECT contains data. Parts of this data were lost in the conversion.
Please give me help for solving this issue.

How can I force a language on a "language dependent" InfoObject

Hello Gurus
I'm trying to run a report with a "language dependent" InfoObject .
We need to show the description in a different language than the user language.
The user enter the system with language = EN and the description should be with language key = HE.
Any Ideas?

Use the BI translation for the objects to solve this issue.

Make sure that the the target language is also already installed in the system before performing this activity.

Hi Experts, I have small issue with Mime object in webdynpro component?

Issue: i have imported mime object with some changes on existing mime object, But this is not reflecting it was displaying old one only,New changes are not reflecting.
Requirement : We are creating buttons with some CSS style and that image type .PNG and that image we are importing into web dynpro component as a Mime object , This same image we are creating for defferenet languages(EX : image name : Searcch_EN.png , Search_DE.png), this images we are binding the button image source property . and we are calling this image through the code.
Now problem : I want change one image Ex : Sumbit_EN.png . i need to change this button i image like " SUBMIT_EN.png". So i have created this image as per requirement and i have imported into mime object. But it was not reflecting.
Please Help me on this...

Hi Venu,
You need to clear the cache of mime object to see the changes done.
Please follow the below steps
Right click on mim object or your image
Choose option "Expiration Time client cache" from menu
Check the individual expiry date check box and un-check the Expiry active as below
Note: you can do it for individual imange or for all mimes in a component

From the below tab check mark the option " Language dependent texts" in your IO.
Master data texts are language dependent (flag)
If this indicator is set, then the texts of the text table are language dependent and the text table has the language as a key field. This is also the default setting.
If the indicator is not set then the text table does not have a language field and the texts are not language dependent.

Hello Murray,
Your steps sound correct. I would add that you generally need the following:
1. publish the IAC, SYSTEM, and WEBGUI Internet Services (also from SE80)
2. make sure the Integrated ITS is working. Meaning you should activate the ITS in the profile parameter, this can be seen in transaction SITSPMON. Some services in transaction SICF also need to be activated, like the default_host/sap/public/bc/its
From your error message though it looks like the URL you have used is either incorrect or you have used the External Alias feature in SICF? The URL for the ITS is usually http://host:port/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/service. Second, the error is about a language resource file (.htrc), you have not specified if you created one or not. To create one in the language you are logged in with just go to SE80, open your Internet Service and double click on the "Topic xx". Don't forget to publish after creating and saving it.

Tool area and language dependent links on KM content

we are facing the problem that we are using Imprint and TAC in the tool are of the EP6 SP19.
we link those items to KM documents.
Because we want to display the language dependent KM documents we used
the root URL for those sections.
In the KM we created below this root URL the folders for the languages de,en, es, fr and so on. Within this folder we stored the KM Document which is also specified in the tool area iView as the start page.
We are now facing the problem that users with a browser language that is not maintained in the KM folder structure will not be able to see the Imprint or TAC unless the specify a language in the Personalize area.
To you have any solution how we can avoid creating all language folders in the KM structure.
Is it somehow possible to define a default like in the URL iView.

First you need to arrange the KM content in different folders based on the language. Let say if are displaying help file.
Then in KM you need have folder Help following by sub folder for each language. Under these folders you will need to maintain the translated documents.
Now develop a custom abstract portal component ... implement the method doOnNodeReady()...
under this method, get the logged in user and his language.
request.getUser().getLocale();
will provide you that. Now dynamically build an url for the KM document to be displayed.
e.g.
String url = "/irj/go/docs/documents/help/"+request.getUser.getLocale()+"help.html";
Once you have the url, then you need to forward the request to this url using the below code:
request.forward(url);

Language depend attributes in E-Commerce ISA catalog

Hello,
I want to add the field Product Group 3 (PRC_GROUP3) from CRMM_PR_SALESG to the catalog.
Adding this field to list of characteristics is easy. However like the most of the SAP fields this field contains a number. In the SAP GUI transaction COMMPR01 this number and a text in the login message is shown. (086 steel / hard metal)
If I simple at the field to the list of characteristics only the number is shown in the isa application.
How can I add the language depended text?

For the Product catalog
1) In the Trex Admin check Http connection and rfc connections are connected .
2) Check in SM59 gate way connections are maintained for your rfc
3) You have to maintain the Trex Name server in the Visual Admin for this look the SAP note 980678
and the URL is http://webserver:port/b2b/b2b/init.do?scenerio=ISA
and if you want to order the products from out side product catalog you need to do customization in the XCM application under UI component ."enable.nonCatalogProducts"; has to set true

Mimes Object doesn't exixts warning message in bi report on Portal.

Hi All,
We have integrated bi 7.0 reports on portal 7.01 . reports are working fine first time with out any warning .
But when we try to change the drop down value for display as field (Table, Graphic, Table and Graphic) or when we click any buutton New Analysis, Open , Save As etc we are getting following error.
MIME object "/irj/portalapps/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.mimes/web.ui.acs/resources/js/sapbi_ac_tray_comp.js" does not exist
MIME object "/irj/portalapps/com.sap.ip.bi.web.portal.mimes/web.ui.acs/resources/js/sapbi_ac_tray_comp.js" does not exist
Please help us to resolve this issue.

In runtime, Is there any option to create a file at runtime and after that add that file to MIME objects??

Yes, this is possible.
The Image source can be a context attribute.
You would need to populate the attribute appropriately.
When you say create a file, do you mean file download ?
See the UI element to download a file.
If you wish to generate a graphic, you can call the IGS (internet graphic server)
to build a jpg.
See the samples in the WD component WDR_TEST_UI_ELEMENTS
