Maintaining a component without MRP view in a BOM

Good Day everyone!
Can i set the system so that it gives me an error or warning message that the component i am maintaining in a BOM does not have an MRP views yet?

in standard SAP its not possible. may be plant specific material status can help up to ceratin extent to check material with category L in BOM is doesnt have relevant status release for engineering.
you need to check this.
or
you need to develop this function your self.

Hi,
Is it not possible to rum MRP without MRP views extended for the materials.
For running MRP system requires some key parameters like :
Procurement Type
Lot Size
Rounding Profiles
Reorder level / point
MRP Type
MRP Group
..........etc
As all these fields are available in MRP views only it is not possible to run MRP without extending MRP views for the Materials.

Hi All,
What are the mandatory minimum, views to be maintained in material master, to create MRP views?
Eg- Suppose we create only basic view and tha ncan we create MRP view without Accounting, Purchasing etc...

u can create material with basic 1 and 2 date but it is of no use
u have to create accounting view if ur material is valuated
u have to maintain following views generally
Basic Data 1
Basic Data 2
Classification
Sales: Sales Org. Data 1
Sales: Sales Org. Data 2
Sales: General/Plant Data
Foreign Trade: Export Data
Sales Text
Purchasing
MRP 1
MRP 2
MRP 3
MRP 4
General Plant Data / Storage 1
General Plant Data / Storage 2
Accounting 1
for the raw material u can omiit sales view
for finish use all above views

Material Master MRP View not be created till Basiv View is created

Hello All,
I need an information where i would like to know if an MRP view in a Material master can be restricted without the creation of the Basic View. Basically an MRP view is getting created even though the Basic View of material master is not there and it needs to be stopped.

Dear Syed ,
If you want to prevent end users update other material master views , you can apply the concept of SAP note 545380 - FAQ: Authorizations material master , with this you will not more problem with this kind of problem.

MTO without MRP

Hi,
We are following MTO scenario in discrete manufacturing without MRP. I am creating the Production orders with
reference to Sales Order for HALBs initially, then system gives message that Sales order is not for HALB material.
I accept that message and proceeding to create Production Order.After creating the Production Orders for all HALBs is it correct to create production order for FERT with reference to Sales Order in which target quantity is displaying
What is the exact procedure to do this MTO scenario without having MRP.

The answer by JH is correct .
with strategy 82 -Assembly procesing with production order.
When you create a sales order for a material which has been assigned a strategy group 82 in MRP3 View for assembly processing, an assembly order i.e procuction order is created automatically .
i.e Creation of sales order triggers the creation of production order automatically..

MRP views in MM02

I need to create a Screen Variant and apply to a Z transaction which only allows users access to change MRP Information u2013 MRP1, MRP2, MRP3 and MRP4 tabs. in the Material Master.
I do not want to give everyone access to MM02 u2013 Change Material Master as this allows them to change all master data within the Material.
I only want them to be able to change MRP1, MRP2, MRP3 and MRP4 tabs.
How to make the screen variant for this. I haven't worked on screen variants..Just need details on that. Please help.

Hi,
No need of creating any Trasnaction/Screen Variant
Go to OMT3B - Copy New Screen Seq from 21 and under "Data screens" delete all except MRP.
Now Go to OMT3E - Here under "User screen reference", assign a Key to all user whom you want to give change option for MRP views. Now In Screen Seq Control Screen, maintain an entry with SRef; Trans as MM02, SRef: User as that Key, SRef: mat Type as *, SRef: Industry as * and assign the new Screen Seq.
Now Check in MM02.

MRP view maintenance

Hi All,
I have developed a programme to uplaod MRP views for huge number of materials across Plants.
There are few material for which one strange thing is observed
1. Material A plant 1-MSTA -D not mantained, but the same is there in MM01
2..MaterialA plant 2-MSTA-D maintained and its maintained in MM01.
Is MRP maintained on the basis of Plant or Storage location or both...because my programme is looking at material plant combination level and uploading the MRP as per maintenance status maintained in table MSTA.
But in above case, it gave an error probably because for one storage location MRP was maintained and for other not...
Can you all throw some light on this....

One thing i missed...there are few plants for which above things are appearing for all the materials...
i.e MRP view maintained in MM03 but for the same materials MSTA doesnt have D status for those plants..

I have a similar question, have done a search and I see this sort of thing has come up a few times but with no definitive answer.... this thread seems close but don't really understand the solution (I'm not an ABAPER)
I have a material master creation workflow under construction, it uses BUS1001006 and method createviews.
The issues is that I want to restrict creation of certain views to certain agents, I have a fork in my workflow and its meant to split up the various views for various agents.
The problem is that if an agent in one of the forks completes their views the workflow tries to get them to completes teh other views which they do not have authoisation to do... anyway the end result is that the workflow thinks all teh views have been created and the workflow items dissappear from the others inboxes.
How do I setup my workflow such that each agent in each fork only has to complete the views they have authorisation to maintain and leaves work items in the inboxes of other agents for them to complete?

Component controller is the base of a wda component. its can be considered as the base class. all the other views can be considered as the sub classes of component controller. so without the base class there is no existence for sub class rt?
like we can use all the methods and attributes of a component controller(main class) across all the view(sub class) and the viceversa is not possible.
hence we cannot create a wda without component controller.

MRP View and Plant parameter

In our one plant, we are not running the MPR , it is use to mfg. of control pannel, but we dont required the MPR run this, but the material will be made thorugh production order, then Finsih material will come in stock so for this is it necessary to maintian all the MRP view or do the plant parameter settings or we can skip all MRP view in Material master.

Maintain a MRP1 view and work scheduling View for the production material with out this you can't able to create a production order , In MRP1 view maintain MRP type as ND- No MRP
No need to do any Config related to MRP.

MRP VIEW For Plant Maintenance

My Client require Minimum Stock of Spare Parts in Maintenance Store and when ever the minimum reserve quantity hit an automatic PR will generate and the purchase deptt. can Procure. so what will be the MRP View for Plant Maintenance in this scenerio and what will be the configration.

Hi,
Material Master will be maintained by MM people. For Spare parts, material type would be ERSA. Maintain the MRP type for Reorder Point Planning in MRP1 view of Material Master & Reorder Point Qty in MRP1 view.
While running MRP, spare parts also will be planned.

check the field reference key based on PLANT...This is possible both are maintained for different plants...
If Material type , industry sector and plant are same, then not possible...

Suppose if you make the once material with material type A with plant 1000 and other material with same material type with plant 2000, then its possible to control dependent on the plant settings....
You the required Field reference key for the field selection group and make the Hide/Display/re/optional settings...
check it at:
SPRO > Logistics general >> MM >> Field selection >> Field selection to field selction group...here check the group...and click on the Arrow button to go to furthur settings >> here chek for field reference key for your plant >> and make the settings....

MRP Views Settings

To run Forecast based MRp for a Finished product i need the Following Settings
1) MRP views settings for Finished product and their BOM raw materials
2) where have to enter the Forecast values
3)How to Run MRP- basic settings
what are pre step before run MRP.

Hi Shivani,
I think you are talking about consumption based planning.
Following are the Pre Requisites before running MRP
u2022Define MRP types
Path: SPRO u2013 IMG u2013 MM u2013 Consumption based planning u2013 Master data u2013 MRP Types
This will determine the MRP procedures, forecast usage and select automatic calculation of either safety stock / re-order point
u2022Define MRP areas
Path: SPRO u2013 IMG u2013 MM u2013 Consumption based planning u2013 Master data u2013 MRP Areas u2013 Define MRP areas
We define this for combination of plant, SLoc and Vendor.
Note: MRP area and plant must be the same.
u2022Maintain MRP relevant data at Plant/SLoc level using TCode MM01
- MRP 1, MRP 2 and MRP 3 are for plant level data:
   You need to maintain here the MRP type, forecast model and the period indicator.
   In MRP1, you can maintain the Re-Order point and Lot Size
   In MRP2, you can maintain Safety stock and planned delivery time parameters.
- MRP 4 is for SLoc level data.
u2022 Create MRP profiles (using Tcode MMD1)
Using this, you can maintain general parameters for materials. The MRP parameters defined here will be independent of the
material master.
u2022 Set material status for cross site / plant in material master.
Material status for Cross site will be assigned in the u2018Basic datau201D view whereas Material status for u201CPlantu201D will be assigned in
MRP 1 view.
After having all these pre-requisites maintained, you can run the MRP as Single Item or Multi Level. Check TCode MD01 / MD02 / MD03 / MD04

Inforecord without accounting view

We are trying to create inforecord for material which has no accounting view.System gives error that no valuation type maintained.Is it not possible to create inforecord without accounting view.Split valuation is active .

If you have split valuation active for the materila then you need to extend the material with the valuation type
1 go to Tr.code: MM01 and extend the material for that valuation ype and maintain the accounting data
2 then you will able to create Info record for that material

Material without accounting view.

Hi gurus,
    are there any ways to transfer PR containing materials without accouting view from R/3 to SRM ? because we found it is impossible in standard system.
   otherwise, are there any solutions to avoid that for new created material , the accountant has not maintained the accouning view before the PR to be transferred for bidding in SRM?
   How you guys doing in your senario? thank you in advance.

Hi Wang,
Yeah its true that the transfer of PR fails containing materials without accounting view maintained even though you have Account assignment.
But the free text P.Rs with accounting view maintained (cost center, WBS, Asset etc) will get transferred to SRM.
I think its the standard behaviour. Recommend you to raise this issue with SAP.
