Maintaining backed up pictures in previously labeled albums
I need to know how to back up my pictures so that when i use the back up dvd(s) to restore my i photo library, it will be organized into the albums I have already created to store them in I photo. It should tell you how to back up albums such that when you restore the backed up photos to a new hard drive or computer, the pictures will be organized into numbered and/or labeled albums just as they are stored in i photo. EG:" 60. Christmas Pictures 2006".
I recently had to restore my pictures from dvd backup and they were there, but not organized as I had them in i photo!. Has someone solved this one?

Welcome to the Apple Discussions. To do what you want burn the albums using the Share->Burn menu option. The disks can then be mounted in iPhoto and the albums will display as shown here. Just drag the album from the disk version into the Source pane as shown.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. A few days ago my TV show and movie displays went whacky-the shows are no longer in alpha order, there are multiple listings of the same show, the pictures are random-including album covers. I downloaded latest version & no change. Any ideas??

I think mine are all still in alphabetical order, but :
* movies I deleted from my library and told "hide this purchase in the cloud" are showing up again. If I try to play them, I get the "cannot find the file in its proper location, would you like to locate it" error message.
* for movies that have "iTunes Extras," the extras show up as a separate item, with another copy of the movie artwork. Most of these I believe I had DELETED the "iTunes Extras" anyway.
* Items are showing up multiple times.
* A few MUSIC ALBUMS are listed in my Movies section.
* Some movies (I believe ones that I deleted off my HD but are still in the cloud) are showing random album covers instead of their proper artwork.
* Just rented a movie, and it didn't show up anywhere in my library. It downloaded properly and completely, was in a suitably labeled folder in my iTunes/Media/Movies section, but didn't show up in any section of the library (or via a library search). Had to manually find it and tell it to open the file using iTunes.
Running the latest version, even checked for updates. No other changes made lately since the last round of apple software updates. This was wonky before the latest small update to iTunes - now it's even wonkier. And it is very, VERY effing annoying. -
I have broken my screen and cannot access my iphone. I have an icloud account which I have used to back up my phone previously but nothing is showing on the website in contacts etc. As I can enter my pin I cannot connect it to a laptop. Is there anyway of backinh up my data, pictures etc?
No there isn't. If you check iCloud, you are not showing any backups at all? Did you have the phone set to sync contacts in iCloud, or were you just backing up to iCloud? If you were just backing up, then you should be able to access the backup, but if you were not syncing, then you probably cannot see the contacts in iCloud. You would have to wait until you restore from the backup to see them. You will probably have to go onto the iCloud website to erase and remove the device from Find My iPhone if you want to clear it off.

If you didn't make a back-up of your music/movie purchases to restore from (as you are advised to do) then I'm sorry to say that the policy on lost purchases is that you have to pay to download them again:
"Products may only be downloaded once; after being downloaded, they cannot be replaced if lost for any reason. Previously deleted album keeps returning
A previously deleted album keeps returning to Music On This iPhone. Each song has a dotted circle in front of it. I have deleted the album from my player, and from the iTunes Media directory. No matter what I do after every sync, the album is back. Please help me remove this album once and for all.

Is there any way to play from the previous label in a timeline?
ie: if i have 10 labels in the timeline and have 2 buttons to move forwards and backwards through them, then the "backwards" button would need to play from the previous label each time it is pressed. Play reverse is no good as the animation i have will play in reverse.Ok, nevermind that last question.
I have the code in and almost working.
I am now having a slight inconsistency issue.
When I click forward, sometimes the symbols play from the start, sometimes they play from the middle and sometimes they are stopped at the end of their animation.
When I click back, they sometimes play from the start, sometimes they don't play.

I keep pictures in Albums, specifically by year and then other topic albums. As a result some pictures are in several albums. Sometimes they are assigned in error. I used to be able to click on a picture and see not only the tags but the albums associated with the picture. How can I see which albums are assigned to a picture?
Are you referring to the yellow text box that pops up like this?
If it is those are called tooltips or anchor titles. Cyclosaurus has posted script to block them: removing rollover html detail box: Apple Support Communities.

How do I download previously purchased albums from iTunes when the album has either disappeared from my computer or the tunes are not playable? The albums show as purchased on the iTunes store, but not available to download to my authorized device. I also have albums that appear in my library, but are not able to be added to my iPod from my computer
When you download something from the iCloud, it is a brand new licensed copy. Your iCloud account just contains a notation that you have this app. It isn't storing an actual copy of the app from your Mac.

Recently, when I create a new album (untitled), it immediately fills it immediately fills with picture either from the album above it or, if I have a Faces collection open, with the pictures from that collection. Why and how do I fix it?
When a new album is created it will fill with whatever is in the right hand window, If you're in the Events or Photos mode it will contain all photos in the library. Yes, strange behavior.

I'm attempting to sync several albums from itunes to iphoto. When select to sync all albums it copies over the previous recorded album. I tried to sync the Albums individually and the same thing happens. Any ideas on how to sync my albums?

If you can't restore from your backup you could try 3rd party software such as iPhone Backup Extractor to see if you could extract your notes from the backup.
