VC is supposed to allow employees with limited technical skills created web based applications which can then be used in the portal. You do need some technical knowledge but it is more easier than developing code.

Instead of using Adobe SVG Viewer we need to use Adobe flex so where can i find

Hi Jasmine,
You can use VC only if you have SVG viewer installed, that is one of the prerequisite. SVG Viewer is used for design. When you deploy your model you have an option to view it either in HTML (Web Dynpro) or Flex (Adobe Flex).

SAP NetWeaver Visual Composer Storyboard Error

Hi all,
currently i new in Business Intelligence area..
when i try to create new model in Visual Composer. i just popup this error message
"Login Error
com.sap.ds.core.project.Project.deleteResour(Ljava/lang/String;)V"
after that when i try to delete the previous created new model, and it popup this error message.
"Failed to delete MyModels/12.mdl. Model is locked by Administrator."
wonder anyone could help me out?

When someone else opens this model, or accidentally you have opened this in any of your window this could be locked.
You can check with your administrator who is using this

When someone else opens this model, or accidentally you have opened this in any of your window this could be locked.

Bank detials Maintained in Vendor master data with out Sort code / Bank Key

We have a Requirement of creating Japanese bank details in Vendor Master Record. But No Bank key / sort code is available.
Even for Russian Bank accounts we donu2019t have any bank key / sort code available from client.
System does not allow to create vendor bank details with out providing Sort code/ Bank key details.
Is there is any way of creating bank details in Vendor master data with out giving Bank key details.

Hi,
I assume you fill in Sort Code in bank number field.
In my company, our bank number is set not to duplicate bank key.
So bank key is simply a reference. And our bank number field is not mandatory.
If you follow these settings, you can create an abitrary bank key for your vendor bank account.

I have a question. Even though its a naive question please bear with me.
what are the master data in SAP SD.
These are the one's i know.
1) Customer Master Data
2) Material Master Data
But what i want to know is does the following ones come under master data?
1) Price master data
2) Transporters master data(we are using transportation management)
3) Route master data
4) Customer material info records
5) Credit master data(iam using credit management)
What will be the master data for Transportation management(module), CIN(country India version), credit management & rebate processing

 Just to add some more valuable information.
Organisational master data : Every company is structured in a certain way. In order to work with the SAP System your company structure has to be represented in the system. This is done with the help of various organizational structures.
Condition master data : In sales and distribution, products are sold or sent to business partners or services are performed for them. Data about the products and services as well as about the business partners is the basis for sales processing. Sales processing with the SAP R/3 System requires that the master data has been stored in the system.
Material master data : In addition to sales and distribution, other departments of the company such as accounting or materials management access the master data. The material master data is stored in a specific structure in order to allow access from these different views.
Document master data : The processing of business transactions in sales and distribution is based on the master data. In the SAP R/3 System, business transaction are stored in the form of documents. These sales and distribution documents are structured according to certain criteria so that all necessary information in the document is stored in a systematic way.
Customer Master Data : or for that matter various business partners, we maintain data for them also called as the customer master data or vendor master data like that.

Best practices of integration with SAP Netweaver

Hi All,
I'm totally new to SAP Netweaver but I have a task to integrate our system with SAP ECC (R/3). We are using SAP Netweaver 6.4. The goal of integration is to provide for user list of available modules (Sales and Distribution, Human Resource, Payroll, etc) and when user selected for example Payroll we need to display list of available BAPIs. In general weare able to create Enterprise Web Service for some BAPI and consume it. But the problem is that everytime when administrator changed BAPI process (for example added new field to Business Object) we need to regenerate wsdl and change our client application. Does Netweaver provide some Web Service which can retrieve list of applications, list of BAPI processes and can retrieve meta data of some BAPI? Something like Partner Web Service interface?
We are looking for best practices of integration with SAP Netweaver. We are trying to develop something like adapter which will be able to pull data into SAP ECC system is there any generic way to develop this adapter?

Hi Yura !!
As far as I know, this is not possible yet. Using SAP Netweaver XI/PI, although it adds value to the webservice scenario exposing BAPI functionality, it also needs to maintain a refreshed version of the BAPI definition in its repository. Depeding the complexity of the change in the BAPI structure, maybe PI may allow you to continue working without changes.
Maybe a good practice is not to make too much changes to a production BAPI, instead make a review in development environment, and once it is stable, use it in production. Other good practice is to keep older versions of BAPIs and add the changed ones as new versions to have back-compatibility

eg..
on BW BSP page i am displaying the date on which the database is uploaded from SAP R/3 database. the field is displayed as "Validate for", instead i want to write in business words that "the data is uploaded on......date".

In MDM we maintain only master data
The goal of MDM to make master data unique and accurate.
BI is used to analyze data from diverse source to support decision making. In BI transaction data are placed in a table named Fact table .This fact table or transaction data are connected to master data /dimension table using some foreign key. Example of different transactions data are :- Quantity sold, sales revenue .In BI /BW we can analyze transaction data i.e. we can calculate total quantity sold for a particular region .
There may be different sales representative for different region. And every sales representative have different and unique ID.
To calculate total quantity sold we have to do the following things
We have to select sales representative Id of the specified region.
Based on sales representative Id (which is master data) for a particular region and the summarized quantity sold by them we can get the total quantity sold for a particular region.
So this master data sales representative Id should be correct and unique based on which we will analyze transaction data otherwise the result would be wrong.
These sales representative ID is maintained in MDM.
Basic scenarios of MDM are
1)     Consolidation
2)     Harmonization
3)     Central master data management
MDM assures following things
u2022     Accuracy - Does my data adhere to defined formats and standards?
u2022     Validity - Does my data contain incorrect information?
u2022     Completeness - Does my data contain all the necessary information?
u2022     Consistency - Does my data contain contradicting or duplicate information?
SAP Master Data Management (SAP MDM) is a component of SAPu2019s Net Weaver product group and is used as a platform to consolidate, cleanse and synchronize a single version of the truth for master data within a heterogeneous application landscape.

Problem connectivity of Web Dympro with SAP Netweaver

Hi guys,
I've a problem connectivity of Web Dympro with SAP Netweaver
I installed Sap NW in a machine on the local network with IP 192.168.x.y, and I can connect to it without problems; I can use the portal and implement jobs in Visual Composer.
After installing Sap Developer Studio, I connected it successfully to the NW through the menu "Preferences->SAP j2EE engine" selecting the option "SAP J2EE is installed on remote hosts" and inserting IP address of the machine with NW (192.168.x.y) and port 3900.
Using these parameters the logon works, in fact I can see the tab "J2EE engine".
The problem is that when I try to make the deploy, Web Dynpro asks me the SDM password (that I'm sure I've inserted correctly) but it returns the following error to me:

I want to add that I use Win XP Prof, and I set the same credentials (user "Administrator" and the correct password) I used on the machine where SAP NW is installed.

There were 2 cases I explained, and the second was the one in case your SDM was blocked. Did you try the first one?
Anyways, here is something more that you can try to get it working. In case the SDM password is valid, did you log into the portal as the Administrator? If yes, then you must have been asked to change the password. If you did change the password there, login to the remoteGUI using the Master password (abcd1234) and change the password there also to the same password you use for Administrator on the Portal. Now try again.
In case the above doesnt work, start the configtool.bat from \usr\sap\J2E\JC01\j2ee\configtool and go to secure store. Here define the J2E passwords again (the same new password you gave for the Administrator in the portal), save and restart the server. I think it would work then

P.S - the main thing is that the error you got was Authentication failure using the Administrator username. Thats why you have to make sure that the password for the SDM is the same as what you gave for the Administrator login in the portal. So after you login into the remoteGUI, CHANGE the password to what you have for the Administrator(just like the one in the portal).

1) We can still use the old ABAP environment to publish your Web Queries, but only the 3.x ones !
 If you want to switch to BI 7 Queries (or other BI 7 Web components) then you will have to use the SAP Netweaver Portal (call it SAP Portal, SAP Enterprise Portal, SAP Netweaver Portal, BI portal... it still is EP 7.0)
The SAP Netweaver Portal is the runtime environment for all BI 7 Web elements.
2) Yes, you can use Visual Composer (available with the SAP Netweaver Portal....)

There are three ways you can load Master Data in BPC
1) Copy and paste.
Download master data in flat file .Copy the master data and paste in members of dimension after that process the dimension.
2) Using SISS Pakage - load Flat File into BPC-Cube
3) Using SQL Command.
