Maintaining External Alias for BSP Pages in EBP lauchpad

Hello,
Below is the problem mentioned :
Our SRM production system is installed on a AIX server that has
svuni299.its.it as fully qualified domain name.
When we connect to the system using the url
http://svuni299.its.it:8052/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbpstart
everything works fine.
Instead, when we use the alias:
http://sapienssrm.fiat.com:8052/sap/bc/gui/sap/its/bbpstart
we have some problems with the logon to the CCM, because the system
asks the password again.
In the attachment problem.doc you can see how to reproduce the error.
We have seen that in both case, in the left menu of the SRM, all the
entry contains always a call to an absolute url like this:

instead of having a relative url like this:

My Questions:
Q1.Where can one maintain an external alias to access BSP pages from EBP launch pad.
Q2.Should relative URL be called or absolute URL?

Hi Rohan,
You can maintain external aliases using Tcode- sicf.
There on application toolbar you will find a push button <b>External Alias</b> click on that and then select your virtual host and press create new button and enter the required informations.

Hello All,
Has anybody encountered the below error dump while creating the external aliases for Business Server Pages and Document Management Service?
The error dump I have received is "ITAB_DUPLICATE_KEY"
"A Row with same key already exists"
The error has ocurred in the program "RSICFTREE".
I am getting this above described error while navigating to the "Target Element" tab.
Can anybody help pls?

Hi Tony,
Somehow I solved this issue. I dont remember what exactly I did, as it was sometime back in December. I think I used the Wizard initially to do the configurations in Solution Manager and again i tried to do the same manually as the earlier one threw some errors.
It seems the wizard proceeded half-way through and hence the entry was made in the database already and hence that error.

When i try to create an external Alias and to save i get the folowing message:
Service /sap/bc/solman/defaultUser Cannot be accesed!
Message no. SHTTP009
Diagnosis
You have not entered a handler, and the other services in URL also do not have a handler. This means the service cannot be accessed by HTTP request
Procedure
Check whether this is intentional, and if necesary, enter a handler

I've read the thread and i've done the steps from there. I've enterede in se80 and published WEBGUI and SYSTEM. but when i try to create the alias i still get the same error. "no handler defined". The connection to the sistem with webgui works. I think that i need to publish another service. I need to use the service under: sap/bc/solman/defaultuser.

How to create an External Alias for a Portal URL ?

Hi Gurus,
Can anybody tell me how to create an external alias for a portal link(URL). Actually, my problem is i want to send this Portal URL(link) thru' a SendMail step to the user so that when he clicks on it, it will take him to his UWL(Ofcourse after signing-in). As this URL length is > 80 char(101 char), i am not getting the full lenght URL in my Outlook mail. THough we are on ECC 6.0,Basis Rel 7.0, as per the OSS note 559234, we should have this length extended to 132 bytes. But, for some reason, its not happening. And,in the same OSS note, it was mentioned that we can use external aliases to achieve this(shortening the URL length).
Can anybody tell me how to achieve this, either thru' increasing the URL length or thru' ext. aliases.
Please reply asap.

External Alias for ODATA Service

yesterday I tried to add an external alias for an OData service (TC: SICF), but I always got an 500 error after calling the service:
500 SAP Internal Server Error
ERROR: URI-Verarbeitung - statischer Pfad in Konflikt mit URI (termination: RABAX_STATE)
Can someone help me solve this Problem?

as per sap help ICF Services - SAP Documentation,
The ICF standard function of external aliases is also available for SAP NetWeaver Gateway for the Standard Mode, that is, for ICF node /sap/opu/odata. Thus you can define an external alias for your service if you have registered class/IWFND/CL_SODATA_HTTP_HANDLER as handler in the Handler List for your service node.
so have you registered class/IWFND/CL_SODATA_HTTP_HANDLER ?

How to create an url for bsp page to access in IE?

hi friends,
I am new to BSP topic.
I have created 4 BSP pages. and 1 Main BSP page. Now in Main BSP page i attached all the 4 BSP pages links.
Now when i test the Main BSP page it will show all the 4 BSP page links. All are working fine.
But the end user has to access this through IE by typing Main BSP page full path. It's some what becoming critical to enter full path. It will be access in internally(intranet) only not outside.
For this i want create an URL like http://empess.
When the user type this URL http://empess in IE and press enters then my main BSP page has to open.
How to do this. any helps will appreciate...

As u said i created External Alias as /ITCESS to my BSP application.
And i select my BSP application name from the Target Element tab. Then i selected the alias name i right clicked on it, i selected TestExt. Alis option. It's working fine.
But now the problem is, i want this to display in IE direclty, when user type the /ITCESS in Internet Explorer addres bar.

Unable to capture the Idle time for BSP page

Hi Experts,
I want to capture the Idle time of my BSP page. If that is 5 mins then i have to display the pop up displaying the remaining time.
Please let me know how to capture the IDLE TIME. not the time after the page is loaded.
Any suggestion will be helpful.

hi,
After capturing the idle time iam giving the warning popup to user before 5mins of expiry.Now my requirement is if the user clicks on OK button of popup the page should get refresh. i.e.Idle time should of system should break and we have to get one more hour for expiry.

External Alias for SAP Retail Store

I am trying to follow Note 918018 - SRS/ICF: Configuration (external alias)
With this step "In the dialog box that is displayed, choose "Define Service-Specific Settings". The system complains and says "select a logon class". This is error message ICF_SYSTEM_LOGIN400. The screen then goes into disable mode and I cannot do anything.
Anyone no what might be wrong?

Did you specify the ABAP class CL_ICF_WOSM_LOGIN in the ICF alias service you created?
In "Logon Layout and Procedure", select "User-Specific" and enter CL_ICF_WOSM_LOGIN as the class.
In transaction SICF, go to your alias service, click on the 'Error Pages' tab, and the 'Logon Errors' sub-tab and then the Configuration button

Debugging BSP Pages

We are upgrading from ECC 5.0 to 6.0.
The test environment is upgraded and after upgrade i am unable to do HTTP debugging for BSP pages.
is there any configuration settings that i have to change ?

For ECC:
Before settings the break-point, you need to Active External break-point for HTTP. YOu can find this option in
SE80, in
Utilites--> External break-point-->Activate/Deactive for HTTP users
then it will ask you the user name, mention your user name. This will activate your HTTP break-point.
Then "Set External break-point (CtrlShiftF12).
This will solve your problem...

Sapscript for displaying page no

Hai Eveyone,
Now Im currently working in sapscript, I have one doubt on that.In my program i displayed data's in each of the page for every vendor . I need the page no Based on Vendor wise. It means for example if the vendor number changed the page no also starts from the first. How to do this ?.

Hi,
Maintain a variable for the page number.
Let it be page_no = 1 initially.
then you can use,
/: AT NEW vendor_no.
page_no = 1. "setting the page number from 1 when the vendor number changes.
/: ENDAT.
When its the same vendor you can increment the page_no and print it.

Deleted BSP Page

I accedentially deleted a BSP Page with a lot of work ivolved with it. I have never transported it. Is there any way to get it back?

and this function module: O2_GET_WAPA_SOURCEN
It seems to be deleted only version 00000 of an object, but not the next ones.
The above works only for non-local objects.
If you need I wrote a code crawler for BSP pages...

Java Script to move up a BSP Page

Hi all,
I've a problem with a BSP page.
The BSP application is an Frame of an URL, where there's a page with height="4000".
So who manage the URL have decided to create for BSP pages an Frame height of 4000 pixel.
But after insert the information on SAP, I call a BSP page of confirmation with the height of 8 lines.
I've insert a href to select the top of frame.
But I need that it's been called by a script, so I can manage a possible table of error messages.
Is there a java script instruction to upload the page on the top of frame?

I call the page from Event Hendler "On Input Process" and it's working correctly.
But the application is inside a Web Site, where I can't controll it. I can't controll the scroll bar of Web Site.
I've used this code

Error while opening BSP:page included for Technical Reasons: VIsta & Win7

when trying to open the Appriasal document in user worklist BSP page opens as an R/3 screen saying "this page is included for Techinical reason" and then stops. it is nop
This issue is faced in Windows Vista and Windows7 not in lower versions of Windows OS.
Any suggestions will be really helpful and will be rewarded

Hi Dayakar ,
Check in nwa if you see any traces related to the issue . Check how other BSP's behave in your portal and try viewing the contents directly from backend . You mentioned that the issue is coming in win7 , vista - so it could be that the portal is not compatible . Check out the compatibility in PAM .

BSP page only works for me

I have a very weird problem with a BSP-page I created.
The situation is the following:
- I can run my BSP page the way it should (it uploads a file of name e.g. TEST.CSV to the application server, and first checks if the files selected is really TEST.CSV.
1 - When somebody else tries to acces my bsp page, and logs in with their own SAP login, they get the error, saying that the filename is not TEST.CSV
2 - When I login with my SAP login (working in situation 1) on their PC, it gives the same error, saying that the filename is not TEST.CSV
3 - When somebody uses my PC (from working situation 1) and logs in with their own SAP login, it still gives the same error
so: only when I login with my own SAP login on my own PC, the PC does what it should do.
What can be the problem?
the other users should normally have more authorizations than I have, so I guess that's not the problem...

Ok guys, I have found what is the problem: Internet Explorer.
Everything works perfect on Firefox, but in Internet Explorer, it always goes to the "wrong_file.htm" page like you can see in the code below. Some of the elements used must me firefox-only, although this really surprises me.
Any user can run the BSP perfectly on any pc, using firefox. Using IE, it doesn't work.
