Is there a way to input the stock level for a particular article in a specific Plant manually?

Hi Dave,
You can upload stock for a plant manually using MB1C transaction.
It is generally used to upload the initial stock during cut over.

    Hi Gitesh,
    The scenario you are looking for is very much possible through MRP process. For that the very first prerequisite is that you need to have MRP for that plant active. Then you need to define a MRP controller using which you will run MRP through MD01/MD03. Which all the material for which you want to maintain the specific stock level, extend the MRP views for those material for that plant.
    You need to maintain the following in MRP1 view:
    1) MRP type: manual re-order point planing i.e. VB
    2) Reorder point: for example lets say 10
    3) MRP controller
    4) Lot size: HB i.e. replenish to maximum level.
    5) Maximum stock level: 100....(put the value of the maximum stock you want to maintain.)
    This way system will propose the PR everytime you run MRP of amount to make up the stock upto 100 and not above that. Also you may block external PR for that particular material using BADI/ABAP help so that no one else raise PR for that particular material. This way we may control the stock for particular material.

    Hi Friends,
    I have created a site 1200. I maintained the same as DC in WB01 and created article and in Logistics:DC view and maintained stock level like reorder point, max stock , etc.
    If I have to extend the same article to another DC and I want to maintain stock levels for site (DC) separately, how to do this ?
    How to create the same site 1200 as Store for maintaining Logistic:Store view. I tried to create in WB01 and it says site already exists. In the list of store, 1200 is not appearing.
    Can the stock levels be different or same for DC and Store for a site?

    Hi Ram,
    Two types of sites are used in SAP Retail:
    a)Distribution Centers that store and prepare merchandise for
    other sites or customers-Profile 0100 Category -B
    b)Stores which present merchandise and sell it to consumers
    Profile -0110/0120 Category -A
    Only One Reference Site will be created each for Distribution
    Center and Store. In Reference Site  no stocks will be
    maintained .
    Stocks will be maintained individually for DC and Stores. 
    For e.g  Create Ref DC 1000 and use it in WB01 for your New
    DC 1001 so that all common data wil be copied . Same applies to Stores. Ref Store 2000 and use it for New Store 2001.

  • Whether it is possible to make auto goods issue below safety stock level

    Hi SAP Gurus,
    I am implementing MRP for generating stock transfer Planned orders from a Main Mother Plant to different Plants. We have defined a Safety stock level for materials at main Plant level.
    There is a auto program available for generating auto goods issue against Purchase orders.
    System picks up Qty as long as unrestricted stock exists for the material during auto goods issue.
    System dont pick up any Qty below safety stock level (manual goods issue works below safety stock level).
    We are defining safety stock to meet sudden requirements and have time for new procurement.
    But it should allow us to do auto goods issue below safety stock level.
    Whether this is possible and what need to be done ?

    Hi Velmurugan,
    I don't think auto GR is a problem from safety stock. Auto Gr can be done by two ways.
    1. Control key and assigning the control key in operation(Preferably in last operation)
    2. In production scheduling profile you can do it. You have to assign the production scheduling profile in material master work scheduling view.

  • Maintaining Stocks at WM Level

    Dear All,
    I have a request from the business whether we could maintain stock at WM level without account assignment. That is stocks are GRN in IM Level with account assignment and when it comes to WM level the stocks should not be based on Account Assignment.
    From the system behavioural pattern i believe this is not possible, the reason they are insisting on this is due to the following factors.
    1. Our industry is Apparel and with regard to Raw Materials like fabric our present practical scenario is such that we GRN stocks in IM based on Sales Order / Line item. So for eg:
    PO/LI    - Material A - 200yds - SO/LI1 ( SU 1, SU 2)
    PO/LI2  - Material A - 100yds - SO/LI2 ( SU3)
    So when the GRN is done the stocks are allocated for the respective Sales Order / Line items. Physically we have three SU (100 each) satisfying the two Sales Order/ line items. So when the user wants to issue for a production order he has the flexibility to select either of the three SUs to satisfy SO/LI1 or SO/LI2 (without the WM system in place)
    With WM in place the storage units would be allocated for the respective sales order / Line items as shown above SO/LI1 (SU1 & SU2) & SO/LI2 (SU3). Now the user does not have the flexibility to issue SU3 for SO/LI1.
    ( The reason the business follows this practice is due to the fact that the product (Fabric) has quite a lot of characteristics such as Width, Shrinkage, Shade so only after the inspection process do they know which SU satisfies which SO/LI.
    How do we overcome an issue like this, since at the point of GRN ( MM & WM) we cannot gurantee the correct SUs are getting allocated for the correct SO/LI. As a temporary measure i am doing an MB1B (413) process to switch SUs between SO/LI. Is there any other way i could mitigate this issue, 
    2. The second issue is during stock counts
       Since with WM in place all the SUs will be specific to Sales Order / Line items but when the stores do a stock count they do
       based on material / SU alone and are not aware how much yardage is available for SO/LI at Storage Unit Level. Thus the   
       continous inventory process breaks the stock at SU ( SO/LI Level). Do i have to create a seperate ZPROGRAM to facilitate the
       stock count process or is there any way i could do a continous count for material & SU without taking into account the SO/LI.

    Based on my understanding . You are receiving goods with "E" stock ( special stock indicator). This E indicator comes with sales order number and line item will be stored( ex: E '151'000020) in the IM and WM stock. (you can see this in LS26/MMBE once you receive).So you canot issue this item for another line item of the same order. Coming to the questions you raised
    1. "whether we could maintain stock at WM level without account assignment?".
    What ever comes from IM will be the same in WM. So you can not change the stock indicator value only in WM while issuing goods to a specific on hand orders with "E" indicator. I hope you should do a process change either in SD/IM area than in WM. Because  you said that "product (Fabric) has quite a lot of characteristics such as Width, Shrinkage, Shade only after the inspection process do they know which SU satisfies".
    and So when you are creating a sale order of that kind you should have either not having the specific purchase( E stock ) or should have a BATCH with characteristics. OR you should transfer the stock to quality for quality inspection and then make available for issue. Either way you need to see this issue beyond WM level because this is a process of (SD/IM/FI) cross function.
    2. "is there any way i could do a continous count for material & SU without taking into account the SO/LI.?".
    I hope NOT.
    I could not understand yardage problem while counting.i don't know if any physical material handling problem in warehouse will intern effect of your continuous counting.

  • Maintaining reorder level at subcontractor location

    I want to maintain reorder level stock and safety stock level at subcontractor location for the components that are provide to him so that i can provide stock to him as soon as the stock gets below reorder level.

    Re-order level at Sub Contracting level can be done the folloiwng set up :
    1.Activate MRP Area  -SPRO-MRP-Master Data-Define MRP Area
    2.Convert Planning File Entery for MRP Area
    3.Select Option -3-sub Contracting  while creation of MRP area .
    4.Maintain Re-order Level at Material master MRP1 view  and MRP Type VB-For manual level /V1 -Automatica Re-oorder level .If it automatic then, maintain Forecasting View with relevent paraemtrs because to calcualte MAD,BAsic values and Re-Order Point through Individaul Forecast or Colletive Forecast -MP38

    MMBE will not give stock level min and max  that is maintained in material master MRP view. I think you need to make a z report for th same or may be through query.

    We have maintained Maximum Stock level in MRP1 in Material Master. Is there any facility which can restrict the Purchaser, not to raise any PO more than maximum stock level qty which is maintained in Material Master ??? how to do ?
    Is there any user exit or warning mesge settings?

    If you want do such check then you have to do that in a userexit.
    I am personally the opinion that a purchaser does not extend the PO quantity just for fun. Maybe he gets a better price if he procures a little more. It is probably a lack of training and knowledge about each others work, that a buyer does not understand what the maximum stock level is , and the planner may not understand the particular issues a buyer deals with daily.
    Bring those two together an let they explain each other the reason for the maximum stock level and the reason why the  order quantities are changed.  Maybe they will finally change the maximum stock level, maybe the buyer will not change the quantities anmore without discussing it first with the planner......

  • Maximum Lot Size & Maximum Stock Level

    If you mainatain Max lot size system will check for this qty & it will not allow to generate PR or planned order more than this qty in MRP run & Max stock level is the stock for replinshment where lot size if replinishing.

  • Use of max stock level w/o lot size HB

    hello champs..
    need  a help on below functionality
    Can I have the functionlity of max stock level without using "lot size - HB" in material master.
    my requirement..tht system should not create any procurement proposal if stock reachs at max level..
    but with this i am using min lot size also..and this functionality got vanish if I use "lot size=HB" ..system dont see min or max lot size..it just create the proc proposal for the qty upto max stock level..
    my requirement
    for a material max stock level -100
    min lot size - 50  , max lot size 80
    and if my stock is 30 ,and my reuirement is for 80..system should not cross the max stock level and should create the prc proposal for 70 only..
    pl share your thoughts on this..I'll appriciate wih necessary reward points..

  • Minimum stock level

    Hi all,
            My scenario comes like this ...i have two service center"A" and "B"where i ll maintain some minimum stock level of spare parts.
           each service center will get service arder individually for spare parts.service center's issue spare parts against order from minimum stock level.  so i maintained make to stock scenario where order is full filled with minimum stock level.so planning has to cover minimum stock level.so i mapped in safety stock.
          But the safety stock level varies with some period.so i need an upload program of safety stock in period oriented manner.
          then fullfillment of service order also based on priority wise  .becas spar parts for that sevice center are obtained from some other plant ...which should maintain a plan which determaine priority to give spare parts to "A" and "B" in percentage of priority
    so i require  1.how to go for upload of safety stock with periodically?
                      2.How the priority can be given for allocation to verious service center.?\

    For upload the safety stock you can use BDC or LSMW.
    for periodic upload try through background program with the help of ABAPer.

  • No Purchase Order OR MIGO beyond Maximum Stock Level

    Hi Experts,
    We want one facility in SAP where no body will be able to make PO or Post Migo if plant stock of any material is beyond maximum stock level. I suppose there is no standard feature in SAP which can restrict user to make PO or Post MIGO. Is there any user exit or badi, which can help us in achiving this. or any other solution.

    Since you have maintained MRP view for the material , this indicate MRP process is active in your company.You plan requirement generation of this item through MRP  ( Automatic procurement) so that unless your stock level doesnt fall below safety stock, New Requirement will not be generated, so schedule lines for supplier will not be generated.If there are no schedule lines / delivery schedule Store person cannot make Good Receipt.This will solve your problem.

    HI Gurus ,
    I was just wondering if I I could get any assistance from you for following ,
    I have the following scenario that i have a question for.
    Safety stock is set at 140 units
    Actual stock is at 150 units
    An order was placed for 20 units. As the stock would fall below 140, the
    order is not able to be picked (10 would u2013 but not the last 10)
    MD03 is run and a purchase requisition is flagged for 600 units. The
    requisition is confirmed to a PO.
    Why then, can i not deliver the order that will take the stock below the
    safety stock level? Even though there is an order taking the stock above
    the safety stock level?

    In the std sap system, the safety stock is provided so as to maintain a level of the stock in the wareshouse.....As we know the reoder point is calculated and is set as per the calulation in which safety stock also plays a big rule...
    Please check whether the reorder point defined  in the system is proper, does the litlle decrease in the safety stock affects the reorder point.....the procurement is only triggered when the stock falls below the reorder point....
    I think you shd check the reorder point first.......

    What is DC?
    If you use MRP type VB in material master MRP view and maintain reorder level as 100 EA, then whenever stock fall below 100 EA in that Plant a PR will be generated.
    If you have sourcelist and info record with fixed vendor then source assigned PR will be generated then that PR can be made as automatic PO in ME59.
    If you have scheduling agreement and sourcelist with MRP relevency indicator 2, then instead of PR, schedule line will be created during MRP run if the stock is below 100EA

    Hi Experts,
    As per the requirement from client, we need to configure the setting of replenishment upto max. stock level during SNP heuristics run.
    I am using below settings in R/3 for achieving the expected results.
    (R/3 ) MRP1 u2013
    Lot size                       HB               Replenish to maximum stock level
    Maximum stock level       20,000
    (APO) Targ.Stk Lvl Methd   5 u2013 in APO u2013 product master -   lot size tab.
    Still, after heuristics run, the requisitions are getting created equals to forecast value. It should get generated as max. stock level maintained.
    Could anyone share their experience regarding this? Am I missing some additional setting?

    Dear Jayprakash ,
    If the requirement is that  you have to replenish upto a certain stock level then instead of maintaining the  Max Stock level you can simply maintain
    SB : Safety stock from product master
    and in the  Safety stock field maintain the quantity as desired ( in this case 20000 ) . This probably will solve the problem  in your case . You may not require  to maintain Max stock level .
    Target stock level in heuristics also works fine with the following settings
    make sure you maintain
    Target stock level method as =5
    In Maximum Stock level  = maintain the quantity desired  ( 20000 in your case say )
    do not maintain  any safety stock method keep it blank .
    then location heuristics generates PR according to the  the maximum stock level.
    If still it is not working plz let me know what other settings you are maintaining probably we will find a way out .
