Maintanence optimizer--terminating at step 1

Hi,
We have our maintanence optimizer in place & were initially able to download sp's.
However, now; after selecting the system,it does not proceed to Step 2.
Also, there is no error. It just displays "Procedure XXXXX saved"
SAP-OSS & SAPOSS RFC's are working fine.
Please help, since we urgently need to download the sp's.
Thanks a lot,
Saba.

Dear Saba,
Could you please implement note no. 1008717 to your system and
check, if problem could be solved?
Should note already be implemented, please read the descriptions from
note 997780 concerning actually missing configuration!
If problem still persists, let me know.

Amit

  • Configuring maintanence optimizer

    Hi everyone
Can someone help me by providing the documents for configuring maintanence optimizer in the solution manger ( i.e., how to configure the SAP-OSS rfc connection and downloading the support packages )
    It is urgent.
    Thank you.
    kirankumar.

Check note 990534 and the attachemts to this not. THis will help you to configure MOPZ
    Follow-up SAP note 990534
--> Goto Transaction – SCPR20. In transaction SCPR20, activate the SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000 BC Set in your Solution Manager clients. Perform the activation in expert mode with the option "Overwrite Everything". You can select expert mode after you have chosen "Activate".
--> Create a new transport request (transaction SE09) in the source client of your Solution Manager system. Unpack file SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000.zip, which is attached to this note. Copy the contents of the SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000.txt file into the transport request. Use transaction SCC1 to import the transport request into your Solution Manager client.

  • Solution Manager (SP 10) Maintanence Optimizer

    Hi,
While configuring the Maintenance Optimizer, using the Activity "Activate Integration with Change Request Management" In the 1st activity list "Activate Change Request and Set - up Client by mistake i entered the wrong client id, and now it just doesnt let me change it.
Is there anyway that I can change it?
Also when I click on Maintanence Optimzer button, in Support Package and Stack Inbox I get the following error " Local logical system is not defined ". What does it mean? Is it because of the wrong client ID that i mentioned about above?
Any help on this will be much appriciated.
    Thanks,
    Vikram

    Transcation SPRO
IMG Activity -> Sap Solution Manager -> Initial Configuration ->
Solution Manager - > General Configuration -> Maintain Logical Systems
    Define Logical System
Add a unique ID and some name, then assign this logical system to the client you are using for Optimizer in the "Assign client to System.
I would suggest that you also do all the initial IMG activity step by step.

  • Help about Solution Manager Maintanence Optimizer

    Hi All,
I have a small confusion how to follow the configuration of Maintenance Optimizer in Solution manager.
Yesterday i installed the solution manager and assigned the ECC server to that solution manager using SMSY transaction.
Now i have to configure maintenance optimizer; what are the doubts i have:
    1) I choose 001 client to configure; now i have to create any user with all roles or else can i use sap* ?
    2) what are the roles i have to assign that new user?
    3) Now what step i have to follow; it mean goto transaction SPRO and follow or any other configuration is required?
    Please give me some suggestions...
    Thanks & Regards,
    Vivek N.

    > 1) I choose 001 client to configure; now i have to create any user with all roles or else can i use sap* ?
just create user with profile SAP_ALL and sap_new
    > 2) what are the roles i have to assign that new user?
    give all authirisation sap_all
    > 3) Now what step i have to follow; it mean goto transaction SPRO and follow or any other configuration is required?
check http://service.sap.com/solman-mopz  and SAP Note: 1024932

  • Terminating Activity step with error

    Hi,
I have an Activity step which task executes a method of a class. This method returns result code (and I do binding to WF) and if it is not 0 I would like to terminate this step (workitem) in error status. How is the best and easiest way to do this?
    Thank you in advance,
    Anna

    Thank you.
But I am not able to set any handling in case of error of this step - if this fails it must be possible to see in worfklow log as error. If I set an exception in method and later not catch it in workfow, would I see it as erroneus?

  • Main optimizer error - There is already a transaction for the system

    Hi Guru's,
I am trying to download support packs from maintenance optimizer in solution manager system. When i select the logical system it gives the error
'There is already a transaction for the system of this product version'
After this error, it does not proceed further.
There is many maintanence transactions in Maintanence optimizer. Now how to remove all these.
Any ideas or solutions most welcome.
    Moses

As Christian has already written, the only problem is that there is already an open Maintenance Transaction for that specific system. Maintenance Optimizer checks that you do not open two different Maintenance Transactions for a system at the same time.
You only have to withdraw the old Maintenance Transaction to be able to proceed with the new one. Open the old Maintenance Transaction and click "Withdraw" on the bottom of the page. If it is grayed out, you need to go one step backwards, there you can withdraw it.
    Best regards,

  • Dependency List for ESS SP11 using Maintanance optimizer ?

I need to somehow get a dependency list for ESS sp11 patch. I was told that this can be done on the Solman 4 system using Maintanance optimizer. I can see how to impliment the service pack but not how to generate a list of dependencies that I can present to the customer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Edited by: VASQUEZ J. David on Feb 12, 2008 8:28 PM

    Hi VASQUEZ,
You can see the dependencies ESS in the service market place only, you can see the import conditions for that particular package.Solman's maintanence optimizer is used to approve the download of that stack. Here you can not see the dependencies using solman.I think if you want to install patches for java they are cumilative, you can directly go from your current patch level to the recent one present in the market place.
    Reward points if helpfull.
    Regards,
    Vamshi.

Hello I am on a macbook pro (retina IOS 9) i have installed xcodes and command line tools but codeblocks does not compile, terminal gives this message /Users/MacPc/Desktop/Untitled1: Permission denied      any one has a solution?? please...

Back up all data before proceeding.
This procedure will unlock all your user files (not system files) and reset their ownership, permissions, and access controls to the default. If you've intentionally set special values for those attributes on any of your files, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it, but you do need to follow the instructions below.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Triple-click anywhere in the following line on this page to select it:
    sudo find ~ $TMPDIR.. -exec chflags -h nouchg,nouappnd,noschg,nosappnd {} + -exec chown -h $UID {} + -exec chmod +rw {} + -exec chmod -h -N {} + -type d -exec chmod -h +x {} + 2>&-
Copy the selected text to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C.
Launch the built-in Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window by pressing command-V. I've tested these instructions only with the Safari web browser. If you use another browser, you may have to press the return key after pasting.
You'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it. Type carefully and then press return. You may get a one-time warning to be careful. If you don’t have a login password, you’ll need to set one before you can run the command. If you see a message that your username "is not in the sudoers file," then you're not logged in as an administrator.
The command may take several minutes to run, depending on how many files you have. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign ($) to appear, then quit Terminal.
    Step 2 (optional)
Take this step only if you have trouble with Step 1, if you prefer not to take it, or if it doesn't solve the problem.
Start up in Recovery mode. When the OS X Utilities screen appears, select
              Utilities ▹ Terminal
from the menu bar. A Terminal window will open. In that window, type this:
    res
Press the tab key. The partial command you typed will automatically be completed to this:
    resetpassword
Press return. A Reset Password window will open. You’re not going to reset a password.
Select your startup volume ("Macintosh HD," unless you gave it a different name) if not already selected.
Select your username from the menu labeled Select the user account if not already selected.
Under Reset Home Directory Permissions and ACLs, click the Reset button.
    Select
               ▹ Restart
    from the menu bar.

When launching ZENWSBrowser or C1 Remote Control on a terminal server Step 1

I could write a small wrapper that killed Java.exe when Desktop4.exe was

I don't know if that would help you.
If you want me to do that, drop me at note at my email craig_d_wilson at

  • Crazy installer issues

At first I thought this was a problem with a particular application's installer, but now I see it is endemic. I am using
    iMac 27" (Mid-2010) 2.93GHz, 16 GB RAM, OS X 10.9.2
Whenever I try to run an installer-dependent application I get as far as entering my computer password. Then I see "Preparing [application name]" and then POOF, the installer is gone. This happens even using apps that I have previously installed successfully. I have repaired permissions, rebooted in Safe Mode using an Admin test account and tried every other trick I can think of.
Here's the Installer Log for one of the applications I tried to install:

Some of your user files (not system files) have incorrect permissions or are locked. This procedure will unlock all your user files, reset their ownership, and remove their access-control lists. If you've set special values for those attributes, they will be reverted. In that case, either stop here, or be prepared to recreate the settings if necessary. Do so only after verifying that those settings didn't cause the problem. If none of this is meaningful to you, you don't need to worry about it.
    Back up all data.
    Step 1
If you have more than one user, and the one in question is not an administrator, then go to Step 2.
Enter the following command in the Terminal window in the same way as before (triple-click, copy, and paste):
    { sudo chflags -R nouchg,nouappnd ~ $TMPDIR..; sudo chown -R $UID:staff ~ $_; sudo chmod -R u+rwX ~ $_; chmod -R -N ~ $_; } 2>&-
This time you'll be prompted for your login password, which won't be displayed when you type it.

  • Cant find the file for approval

    Hi Guys,
I have selected service application tool package for download.it requires approval which is to be done in MOPZ.
When i login to our solman i cant find the file for approval in MOPZ.
    steps that i follow
    1. Tcode DSWP.
    2 go to change mdmt
    3 select Maintanence optimize.
I cant find the file to approve.
Do i need to create  a new maintaince tcode...?
    Please help

    Hello,
Please make sure that the S user password is not in initial state. Please also make sure that you can login with no issues in the SAP Service Marketplace , and that the 'authorization test' for SAP-OSS  works OK.
I am not sure about when you report the error message as: "Logon information is not write." . What do you mean?
Also, you say that you go to DSWP and the file is not there to approve. The correct way to approve files from Maintenance Optimizer when downloading manually, is to create the Maintenance Optimizer document, then choose the manual selection option, then select the files from within Maintenance Optimizer, and then proceed with the download from Maintenance Optimizer.
    Best regards,
    Miguel Ariñ
