Maintenance Optimizer don't detect EHP3 files, only EHP4

Hello.
I'm running SAP EHP 1 for SAP NetWeaver 7.0 and trying to update the system to EHP3 stack01. The EHP4 will be done later.
The thing is, when creating a new MOpz in solution manager although it allows me to select SAP ENH PACK 3 and the stack, when it searches for files doesn't find any, just allows me to continue without any files to select.
If I choose the EHP4 it detects files to download.
Any suggestion on why this is happening?

If you take a look at the Technical FAQ for EHP (https://websmp103.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000931872009E), it clearly states that "Caution: If the system landscape is not maintained correctly, this may result in invalid stack
configuration files and severe installation problems."
So its highly recommended to do the proper configuration in Solution manager as per the practical guide: https://websmp208.sap-ag.de/~sapidb/011000358700000293582009E.PDF
Please make all the settings as per these 2 documents and you should be on your way. Its always better to use mopz for each of the systems in your landscape.

Maintenance Optimizer Step 2 - Select Files cannot view

From the Maintenance Optimizer step 2- Select files, we cant see both the option of "maintenance" or "enhancement package installation" as shown in the SAP guide. The only option is "Find Download Files" button. Anyone here experience this issue before ?

First of all, please make sure that:
- You are a registered ramp up customer.
- The S-user defined in AISUSER in solution manager has the
authorization to download ramp-up installation files.
Also make sure that you have installed all the notes listed in
1122966 for your Solution Manager release.
The option of installing Enhancement Packages in an ERP 6.0
system is only offered in the Solution Manager Maintenance
Optimizer if the systems assigned to the process are assigned to
the product version ERP 6.0 or ERP 2005 in the Solution Manager
system administration (transaction SMSY).   The product version
ECC 6.0 must not be used for the installation of Enhancement
Packages. The attached Note 1022072 describes step by step how to
change a product version assigned to a system.

Now go to SAP Download Manager ( On your local pc ) and download the files you just confirmed of course using the same S-User id you just added them to the basket with
Apply support packages via spam per normal process
Return to the SOLUTION_MANAGER window select the landscape you are working on
Hit Maintenance Optimizer List
Choose the maintenance transaction you are working on
You will see a list of the confirmed and downloaded sps you selected
Once you apply these to the system using SPAM you will change the status of implementation to Completed and Hit Save
This completes this activity
If you wish to do more work you will have to create a new transaction.
[Edit section] Add A New Instance to Maintenance Optimizer
Sign into Solution Manager
Ensure new instance has valid license installed and logical clients assigned
Select Landscape Components
Right Click Systems
     Select Create new system with assistant
Enter
SID / Description / Product Type / Installation Number ( Get this from SLICENSE in system you are setting up )
Next enter Sys # & MEssgae Server and hit continue
Next select Generate RFC Destinations & Assign Logical Components & Enter Client #
I always get a problem saving since SLD is not setup ignore and continue
Highlight the system you just added under Systems SAP Global Trade Services
Select Assignment to Logical Components
Now add additional software such as Net weaver ABAP & JAVA if your primary setup was of another type ( ex. GTS )
Highlight the system you wish to update under Systems and hit change
     Select Header Data
     Click Installed Product Versions
     In the product box add whatever you require for this system
     Select the version from the 2nd box and hit copy

If you cannot setup the trusted system here is a workaround:
Create User in Target for Trusted System RFC from SM1
     User:      <Username>
     Pass:   <Pass>
     Type: Communication
Use this when setting up the trusted connection, remove the trust and use this CPIC user info for the RFC.
Generate RFCs and ensure SMSY setup is done for SID in Solution manager
Now Create a New Solution For your instance:
Go to SOLUTION_MANAGER transaction
     Select NEW
     Give Descriptive name: ex. GTS Landscape
Under Solution Landscape
     Select Solution Landscape Maintenance
     Select System Groups and Logical Components Tab
          Open Solution Landscapes
               Select the one you just defined (GTS Landscape)
SOLTION_MANAGER
Select Change Management Support Package Stacks
Select Maintenance Optimizer
Select the Product Version
     GTS 7.1
Select the System Type SID
From here you will be prompted to go to service marketplace and add the items you wish to install. You can do this beforehand as well, be sure to use the same Suser you setup in AISUSER with your sap login
It will ask you to confirm the basket, once you do that you install them normally.
Download with sap download manager, ftp and apply

Maintenance Optimizer - ABAP queue check failed

Hi guys.
When running Maintenance Optimizer for a SAP ERP 6.0 EHP4 which has SAP HR 604 installed, the following message is displayed
ABAP queue check failed
Error The Installation/Upgrade Package for Add-on SAP_HR rel. 600 is not available.
The goal is update toEHP7 SP2.
Not sure why is stating SAP_HR rel. 600 package is not available when the system has 604 release.
During packages selection, Human Capital Management is checked and on the source system is listed SAP_HR 604 SP12
The Solution Manager version is 7.1 SPS8, CR Content is updated to 9.9.
Also have applied SAP Note 1277035 Recommendations, releted to EHP4 Missing, but still no luck
This seems to be similar when SUM perform an EHP Inclusion, and cannot find the packages on the EPS Directory, but this is happening on the Maintenance Optimizer.
Is this a problem with SAP Backbone, or should i do some manual corrections on the system or Solution Manager to make it aware SAP_HR is at al level 604 SP 12?

Hello,
That type of error you describe is mostly always related to an issue in the SMSY/LMDB definition.
It is likely that the issue is a wrong product instance was assigned to the system.
In LMDB it is easy to check , even without verification checks (which sometimes may be the root cause, a bad verification check happens sometimes). If you go to the product system, then open the node technical systems -> AS ABAP -> Software, and go to the product instance tab (in SP10, product instance - details), when you select a given product instance , you see whether the software components that are part of it are installed or not (there is a frame in the lower part of the screen that shows the software components with flag 'installed' ticked or not). Chances are, one or more of the instances have few or no software components installed.
Mind you, you must keep at least one SAP ERP 6.0 product instance assigned, this would be the exception to the rule, but if you have an EHP4 for SAP ERP 6.0 system, it should be only one.

Maintenance Optimizer - Selection of Main Instances

Hello. I have configured a Landscape Component in transaction SMSY. There is a tab called "Selection of Main Instances".
It seems that tab drives what I see when I run the maintenance optimizer. The checkboxes selected there determine what components that I see when creating a new maintenance transaction.
Is there a way to populate those check boxes from the satellite system. It seems like there is a gap here. Manually configuring that can lead to errors - the exact thing Sol Man is supposed to prevent.
Note the "software components tab" is automatically populated from the satellite, but it does not affect the maintenance optimizer.

Make sure that following things are OK :
- Solution Manager should be patched to the latest release
- The ERP 6.0 system must have the product version SAP ERP 6.0. Make sure that it is not accidentally maintained as SAP ECC 6.0.

It is possible to delete the maintenance optimizer transaction using the steps below:
SE38
-> Run report "CRM_ORDER_DELETE"
-> Enter the maintenance transaction number(ID) of the transaction in "Business Transaction Number" and "SLMO" for "Business Transaction Type"
-> Execute
If the client role is set to 'Production', you would need to temporarily set it to 'Customizing' in order to delete the MOPZ transaction via the report above.
In general, it is possible to follow the note 1329247 and use the archiving object CRM_SERORD with transaction type SLMO to
archive maintenance optimizer transactions. Please note that only maintenance optimizer transactions with status "Completed" or "Withdrawn" can be archived. The transactions can be displayed using transaction code "/tmwflow/maintenance".
It is possible to archive EWA services via the report RDARCH_ARCHIVE_DATA_SOLMAN as described in note 546685.

Error in maintenance optimizer generating Stack File XML

Hi all,
In step 3 "Download Files" of maintenance optimizer transaction to implement the EHP5 of ERP, In the tab "Log" I see the following error.
*Collecting XML adjustment input data done with error or warning.
Message no.AGS_MOPZ_PLAN_MSG144*
The stack XML file is very very important to the ehpi installer, then I need to know which implications have the error below...
I create 3 Maintenance Optimizer transactions, and in all of them, the error appears.

Please check if the SPAM level of the Solution Manager is the latest.
If this does not help, please check the details about the error message in transaction SLG1 (this transaction is the full application log). There should be extra text / error message explaining the situation, you only have to look for the error around the time when you got the 'Collecting XML adjustment input data done with error or warning' message.

Error in Maintenance Optimizer in step "Select files for component "

i would like to download patches for my system. I have defined a solution and now i will start the Maintenance Optimizer procedure to download, but when i press a button "Select Files..." an error "the page cannot be displayed" occurred.
Does anybody know what should i check in my configuration? Where can I find more details for error?

Here is the whole solution for you.
Hope you have implemented the note 990534 properly.
This is what I have done to resolve the same issue -
Apply patch ST-ICO 8 and 9
generate BC set SOLMAN40_MOPZ_TTYP_SLMO_000
generate BC set SOLMAN40_CHARM_PROXYFACT_001
If the error still persist, you will need to work on the below notes. (997780)
Goto SPRO - IMG>SAP SOL MGR>SCENARIO SPECIFIC>CHANGE REQ MGMNT>EXTNDED CONFIG>CHANGE TXN>CONSISTENCY CHECK IN CHANGE REQ MGMNT (define basic settings SOCM_CHECK_002)
Deselect the 'Integr' field (integration with change management is required) for the checks listed below. The system issues a message stating that changes are not allowed and that the entries are SAP property. This is only a warning message. Choose ENTER to ignore the message and save your changes.
Checks:
           IB_SYST_CHK
           S_USER_CHECK
           REQUEST_IN_PROCESS
           SOLUTION_ASSIGNMENT
           PRODUCT_ASSIGNMENT
           S_USER_CHECK
           EMPTY_CONTAINER
           SYSTEM_STATUS_OK
If you are getting the error "no active ibase" after this, try to implement 1030498.

Stack File for JSPM when using Maintenance Optimizer

Hello,
As you know JSPM looks for a stack file when applying a support pack stack. When using maintanance optimizer I see no way to get a stack file. I end up having to do the work twice: once to get the files in maintenance optimizer, and again I have to go to marketplace swdc to choose the files and create the list of downloads again only to save a stack file.
Am I missing something? Is this double work really necessary?

It seems that you are doing double work.
If you use the download type as "SLM" then you have a chance to transfer the XML to SLM. Else if you choose the download type as "Download Manager" then the XML should be created in the EPS/in folder of the Solution Manager system.
You also need to check whether you have applied all the applicable notes for the Solution Manager stack from the note 1122966 and that the BC sets for MOPZ are activated correctly.
Finally check the permissions on the EPS/in folder of Solution Manager to check whether there is a issue with authorizations.
A SLG1 log ( filtered by the username who creates the MOPZ transaction and time at which the transaction was created ) will reveal the errors in the process.

Only 1 Instance show up on Maintenance Optimizer Transaction

Dear all,
I got another issue relate to Maintenance Optimizer transaction under dswc, I have 2 satellite systems under 1 logical component.
On the first step of MO transaction , I select Product Version SAP ECC 6.0, there is only 1 system appear, in fact in my logical component there are 2 systems ( in SP Stack screen both systems appear normally)
Anyone know the cause, or there is any further set to be done ? Thanks...

In MOpz, you are selecting the product version ECC 6.0
check once if both those remote systems are difined as ECC 6.0 in SMSY or any other product version ? Second system might be defined of type ERP
and, are you able to see all the systems as 'green' in SMSY -> Solution landscape -> select that particular solution and see if the systems assigned are green or not. Also, by selecting the particular system in the same screen, once check include/exclude button and check consistency then.
and, Are you able to see EWA service sessions for both of those systems in that particular solution view ?

and if the problem is related to the product version, then you should change the product version to the type of ERP instead of ECC 6, I forgot the exact note number for this, but you can try the below one for this

What is best practice for using Maintenance Optimizer to download SPS + EhP

SAP indicates in note 1095233 and many other documents that the best practice is to implement an EhP along with an SP Stack in the same queue. Furthermore, the only way to download the components of an EhP is via Maintenance Optimizer. However, in step 2 (Calculate download files automatically) you must choose either Maintenance (SPS) or Enhancement Package Installation (EhP); there is no way to tell Maintenance Optimizer that you want to download both SPS and EhP.
In developing the process for my team I circumvented the problem by saying to select Maintenance first to get the SPS into the Download Basket and follow that with selecting Enhancement Package Installation to get the EhP into the Download Basket. The plan would be to include all the downloads in the SPAM/SAINT queue with the expectation that SPAM/SAINT will be able to determine what must be included.
I'm wondering now whether that is a legitimate way to approach this and I am hoping others will share their process.

Actually, I don't believe you will get the entire SP Stack for ERP 6, you only get those pieces of the stack that are required for the Technical Usages you select for the EhP. I'm basing that on my observation that you get a different subset of the files making up the stack depending upon your TU selection. Also, note 1095233 specifically states:
If now the corrections included in the enhancement package 3 correspond to ERP 6.0 SP level 11, SAP recommends to update also the parts of your system to SP level 11 which you do not want to update to enhancement package 3 to achieve a consistent correction level in all parts of your application: SAP recommends to update all software components to the correction status corresponding to SAP ERP 6.0 Support Package Stack 11 with the installation of SAP enhancement package 3 for SAP ERP 6.0.

Yes, it is right if MAINTENANCE OPTIMIZER need for confirm files in the Download Basket only.
But if you want automatically create message to Solman Support Desk for maintenance procedure with information about SAP components, systems, versions etc. and other functions (determination current installed support stack in the system and files needed for update this system etc.) of MAINTENANCE OPTIMIZER assigned to defined system of system landscape you must define system in the SMSY.

We have a strong security policies and we have not a possibility to use saprouter for connection to SAP. We installed and customized Solution Manager 4.0 and we want only approve our basket on SAP Market Place. Is it possible or not?

Problem with Maintenance Optimizer...

I had a problem which I didn´t reached a solution...
When I create a new maintenance optimizer transaction and choose, on first step "Plan Maintenance", a type of Product Version I don´t have all systems which I configure on this Product Version on SMSY (System Landscape Directory).
For instance: I configure in SMSY the Product version (group) SAP ECC 6.0 which contains three systems DEV ; QAS ; PRD.
When I open/create a new maintenance optimizer transaction and choose the SAP ECC 6.0 I only see one system, the DEV system, within his, and I want to see all three systems which I configure in SMSY!
Help me please...! TKS

I´m newest in SAP and still I have difficulties on search sometimes some things...
