Maintenance Plan number range

What is meaning of MM NC NO OC while defining maintenance plan number range ? What is their significance ? I want to define number range of maintenace plan for Plant maintenance module, do I need to define  MM NC NO OC also?
Regards,

hi
it is the different maintenance plan category with different ,maintenance call object ,hence you can define each maintenance plan category with number range according to your requirement

  • Maitenance Plan - Number range not defined

I am trying to create a maintenance plan from a brand new system. When going to IP31 I get the error, number range not defined. So I went to SPRO and transported the number ranges. It still would not create a maintenace plan and got the same error. Am I supposed to assign the categories to the Maitenance plans number ranges? If so, how do I do this?
    Your help is appreciated.

    Hi,
There are two relevant number ranges - One for maintenance plan and the other for maintenance item. Customizing as follows:
      -Plant Maintenance and Customer Service
-Maintenance Plans, Work Centers, Task Lists and PRTs
      -Maintenance Plans
            > >Define Number Ranges for Maintenance Plans
            > >Define Number Ranges for Maintenance Items
Alternatively use transaction IP20 and IP21.
In the case of maintenance plan number range you must assign each category to a particular number range. Use the icon 'change groups' to do this.

  • Best Practice for Change Maintenance Order Number Range

    Hello
We have decided that our Maintenance Orders will always start with the year of the open date. Example 201112345155
Every year we will need to change the number ranges
What is the best practice to change the order number range? What is the best approach here?
I have also another question. Why the "Current Number" is not incremental?
    Thanks for the help

    Hi,
The current number can be explained by use of buffering of the numbers. Buffering is defined via transaction SNRO, the  AUFTRAG object is relevant for orders. When buffering is active, a set of unused numbers are assigned to each application server.
In your example -  The fiirst 20 numbers were taken from the available number range and assigned to the buffer (possible 10 numbers to each of two servers). As orders are created a number is assigned from the buffer. Once the buffer values are used a further set of numbers are taken from the number range and the current number is increased (by buffer value).

  • Maintenance Order Number Ranges.

    Hi Gurus,
I am working on the configuration of the Maintenance Orders for my client. I am trying to create 5 different number ranges for the five different order types to be used for five different processes. I have created the number range groups but strangely enough the groups are not visible in the list. Can you please suggest what should I do and where am I going wrong? I am creating the groups ( which are visible when I try to create new ones) from menu bar--> groups and insert.
    Thanks in advance.
    Anoop

    Hi Anoop,
As per the referred case, what the system does is that the number range interval created while creating the new number range group gets assigned to an already existing number range group because there are several number range groups already defined, having no number range interval assigned to them so whenever a new number range interval is added, the number range interval gets linked with the already existing groups despite assigning the number range interval to the newly created group. The system does not even create the new number range group. For this you can change the text of existing groups or else assign each group with an interval and then start creating new groups with the desired number ranges other wise it would not create the group but the number range interval would definitely be created.

  • No. range not found for  maintenance plan

    Hi Team,
I have maintained no. range for maintenance plan in SPRO. However I am getting this error while creating maintenace plan.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Check the number range customizing again via IP20. Use the groups option to ensure your number range interval is assigned to the maintenance plan category. Also check that maintenance item number range is maintained correctly via IP21.

  • Issue on Number Range for MRP Purchase Requisition

    Hi Gurus,
Please help me on the issue explained below.
We are already using SAP ECC 6.0 and SRM 5.0 and now we are implementing Plant Maintenance Module. As a result of this implementation ,we have created number of PR document types and assigned to unique number ranges in ECC. One of these document types has been maintained for MRP group for a material type in order to identify the MRP purchase requisitions created on the shortage of the materials for these material types.
This functionality is working fine. MRP run for the materials is picking the appropriate PR document but number range of the document is not the same what was assigned to the linked document type. Some other number series is getting picked by system .
There is setting under SPRO Consumption Based PlanningNumber RangesPurchase Requisitions
Here, number range assignment is against plant. This is the same number range which is being taken by system on running MRP. But the desired number range is the one which has been linked to PR document type.
If I change the number range above then number range for MRP PR in present system will get affected..
Can you please advise me on above so that PR generated on MRP run should have appropriate number range?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Niti

    Hi,
As per my understanding, what you have mentioned above is exactly the way SAP is designed. Its SAP Standard behaviour.
But if you check your PR document type - no:range & the CBP no:range both will be same only since both refers to the same object.
Please check the PR document type that you have assigned in the CBP & its no:ranges.
    Thanks & Regards,

Check this path: spro>MM>Consumption based planning>number ranges>define NR for planning run, execute and maintain the interval of planned orders.
Then apply this internval in OPPQ, under number range button.

  • Number Ranges in Q.M

    Dear Gurus,
We have two plants in our company code and we are implementing QM for both the plants.I have regarding number ranges--> Inspection Number Ranges for Inspection Characteristics,Number Ranges for Inspection Methods,Number Ranges for Inspection Plans,Number ranges for inspection lot..etc
My query is -->Are these number ranges maintained at client or plant level.I think its client, but no sure. How can define number for different plants for the all above mentioned .
    Regards Ram

    Ram,
As per SAP standard Inspection lot number range we can not maintain plant wise.
Please follow following path to get idea:
SPRO --> Quality Management --> Quality Inspection --> Inspection lot creation --> Maintain Number ranges.
Here you would see this number range are stored in inspection lot origin, they apply to the entire client. So it would be applicable to client wise not plant wise.
So if you maintain number range for "01" like From 010000000000 to 019999999999, then this number range would be applicable to all plant of client for 01 origin.
If you still want to assign number range plant wise then you can maintain custom table for number range inspection type and plant wise, but to define number range externally plant wise is not advisable.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks!!!

  • Multiple number range for planned order

    Hi,
I want maintain different number range for MRP related planned order and manual creation planned orders. I have checked OPPQ and OMI2 transaction but i could not get any clue to create different number range for same plant. Let me know is how we can create.
    Regards / US

    Hi Uma,
number range is dependent on plant alone and I don't think there is an user exit or badi to change number range at planned order creation.
I guess the alternative is an enhancement or using some other field to determine what planned orders are manual.
    regards,
    Edgar
