Maintenance strategies in Spanish

We are preparing to roll out SAP plant maintenance in a plant in Chile and are verifying the routine and preventative process works properly when using the Spanish language pack.
When creating a maintenance plan with IP01 while logged in with Spanish, we down arrow on the strategy field and get 'No values exist'.
Where do we configure maintenance strategies for use with Spanish?
David Macindoe

The strategies will only come up if the description has been maintained in the log on language. Please use transaction IP11 to maintain the description for existing strategy in Spanish language and they should now be available for usage.
You could also do the same while logged on in one of the languages. From IP11 menu choose Utilities > Choose language and ten select all the languages for which you would like to maintain the description. Now select the strategy and choose Goto > Translation .Now maintain the description in the appropriate languages.

  • How do I transport PM Maintenance Strategies

I created a number or maintenance plan strategies in IP11.  How do I transport those to other clients.  I was not prompted to create a transport when I created them and if I go into IP12 and select them , the menu options "Table View --> Transport" and "Edit --> Transport --> Include in/Delete from Request" are greyed out.  Are they transportable or do I have to create them in each client/environment.  Thanks.

    Hello,
maintenance startergy is non transportable.you need to create it VIA LSMW Recording method  easilty in each client separtely if it is in mass number(Create it Manualy using TC IP11 if  less amount of number stratergy is there)

  • IP11 - Maintain Maintenance Strategies, Adding a field to a package row

    Hello everybody!
As an ABAP programmer i wanted to ask you about the IP11 transaction.
Is there a way that i can add fields(columns) to a package's row?
(I mean to add more fields then the standard fields selected from the t351p table).
    Thank you,

    Hi
I don't understand the exact need you want
you want to add Scrolling facility to your Entire Applet or only for the Textarea Class?
    In first case
Create the ScrollPane and add it to the applet contentPane. and put entire components to a Panel and just add it to scroll pane.

  • TPM, Predictive Maintenance and calibration of test equipments.

    hi experts,
can anyone explain me TPM, Predictive Maintenance and calibration of test equipments. Please clear my these concepts with domain knowledge.
    Thanks

TPM: Is Total productive maintenance. It is a standard tool used in different industries. TPM has many parts like preventive maintenance, preditive maintenance , 5S etc. The basic purpose of TPM is to increase the production and decrease the breakdown using 5S, preventive and predictive maintenaace and many other ty6pes of maintenence strategies like Root cause analysis, six sigma. so TPM is a broad term under which all the maintenance strategies, six sigma, 5S etc lies. To get knowledge about TPM here in SDN is not possible. Please follow this lik.
Predictive maintenance: it is the third step after the breakdown maintenace and preventive maintenance.
    The flow is as follows:
    Breakdown maintenance--Preventive maintenance--
    predictive maintenace.
TPM is used to move from breakdown maintenace to preventive maintenance and then tyo predictive maintenance.
Predictive maintenance is to predict the effect of any internal or external factor on machine or equipment and to take precautionary measure before that effect cause any effect on the machine. So to avoid the breakdown maintenance which result in close of plant and zero production , predictive maintenance is the best tool. But it is very hard to implemnt in practical maintenance scnerios.
Calibration of test equipments:  There are certain equipments in industries which need to be clibrated after a fixed time like 6 months , 2 years etc. Such type of equipment are temperature transmitters, sensors, pressure transmitter and sensor, Flow, level, moisture etc. Claibration is to set the instrument against a standard range which we get from master calibration instrument. these are called test equipments. In SAP PM  and QM we have to map that [process of calibration.
Take a example:  i have a temperature transmitter which i am using in milk industry for measuring the temperature of the milk. so When the temperature of milk is 50 degree celusis, the instrument must give me the output reading of 50 degree celseis. But after some time say 6 months the range and span and calibration of instrument get changed. So we need to calibrate it again to get the accurate reading. So we calibrate the indtrument with a standard transmitter.

  • Running Hours Base Maintenance Plan

    Hi,
I have a scenario in which I need to create maintenance plan on running hours base. e.g. There is a generator which should be scheduled to plan according to 2000 running hours, 4K run hrs, 8K run hrs, 16K run hrs, ......
Now the tasks which are used in 2K plan will be repeated in 4K plan. and so on. How can I configure it in PM.
Kindly help, I shall be grateful to all.
    Best Regards,
    Ibne Khalil

First you will create a measruing point/counter for calculting the running hours. Now create a task list with maintenance strategies 2k, 4k, 8 k etc. now define the operations in the task list. In the maintebnance package define whcih operations you want to define for whcih operation. Suppose for 2k running hors you need only operation number 10, so select the maintenance package 2k only for operation 10. For 4k running hours you want operation 10 and 20 , then in maintenance package , for operation 10 select select 2k, and 4k and for operation number 20 selecct package 4k. SO operation 10 will come for 2k maintenance and also for 4 k maintenace and operation number 20 will only come for 4k running hours. Hope it will solve your problem.

  • SAP-PM nd Meridium

    Hi All,
plz give some inputs on SAP-PM nd Meridium integration ....
for wht purpose meridium is used for and its advantages ....
    regrds
    pushpa

    Hi
There are many ways you can integrate SAP with any RCM tool including Meridium.
RCM is a strategy which has been used by defense since 1950s and it is becoming one of the maintenance strategies which is becoming popular in other industries too.
There are many different approaches to RCM including some streamlined versions of it. You can find lots of information on it in google. To my knowledge the only commercial standards in the market are SAE 1011 and 1012. Besides these, you can find hundreds of military documents which are open for public.
The main driver here is the Notification and failure information you capture. The information captured will be sent to the RCM tool. RCM tool will run different analysis including Weibull analysis and determine what should be the best approach to keep the assets performing better. The decision can be:
    1) Run to failure
    2) Maintenance Plan(s)
    3) CBM
Now, although there are several interfaces ready to plug in between SAP and Meridium, what I recommend is a staged approach. Maybe 1) Link the notifications, 2) Improve the required data in Notifications which are needed in RCM tool 3) Determine the new strategies from within RCM and manually upload them in SAP, 4) The new strategies can be sent from RCM tool into SAP by creating a "Master Data Request" notification with the textual content, 5) Improve the RCM to SAP link by crating the header level task lists and maintenance plans, 6) Improve the transfers of spare parts used in SAP PM and 7) Improve the contents of Task Lists with maintenance plan contents also.
Several companies do not go all the way down to a full integration. RCM requires consistent and detailed master data, disciplined approach to capture details of failures (and classical RCM wants users to capture functional failures, failure modes).
What I suggest is start reading SAE standards and read the bible of RCM (RCM II by Moubray).
Don't forget, every client may have different approaches depending on their asset portfolio. Some may find it expensive and resource sucking. Some may find it mandatory for certain assets.
Applying RCM is not just a simple interfacing issue. It requires several details to be captured in SAP.
RCM becomes more and more successful when the maintenance teams get more and more experience as well as when they capture more and more failure information.
Sorry... I needed to type very fast. I hope I haven't done many mistakes.

    Hi,
From my experience in SAP PM Master Data conversion I would suggest you do these
    1. Pre-requisite to loading Master and Transactional Data (Work Orders , Notifications)
        A. Check/ensure Maintenance Strategies have been loaded
        B.  Check with FI/CO team that WBS and Cost Centers have been loaded
    2. Do your Master Data conversion/uploading, it can be the following sequence
        A. PM Work Centers
        B. Functional Locations
        C. Equipment
        D Task List
        E. Maintenance Plans/Items
        F. Bill of Materials
        G. PRTs
        H. Class and Characteristics
        I. Allocate Class and Characteristics, PRTs, Measuring Points
    3. Do your Transactional Data conversion/uploading
        A. Notifications
        B. Work Orders

  • RCM knowledge

Did any one of you work on RCM? If so, could you explain in brief how this is implemented in SD module
I came across a job position which says RCM knowledge is required.

    Thanks for your updates.
As no one replied to my query for long time, I did my own research on RCM.
I am posting the notes. It may be useful to someone looking for an opportunity with RCM requirement.
RCM stands for "Reliability Centered Maintenance". It is a formal method to determine the maintenance requirements of an asset in its operating context. It is a proven methodology for developing effective maintenance strategies.
RCM stresses a proactive approach to maintenance. This method attempts to match the best maintenance practice to mitigate a potential failure relative to the importance of preventing that failure. RCM stresses the value of maintaining or preserving of a function as opposed to maintaining an asset.
RCM was first used in airline industry but since then it was used by other industries to
    - Improve operational reliability
    - Optimize equipment performance
    - Make better design and life cycle decisions
    - Control risk
RCM is used with SAP - EAM (Enterprise Asset Management)
SAP EAM focuses on the efficient execution of:
    - Maintenance Planning & Scheduling
    - Maintenance Work
    - Spare Parts Management
    - Maintenance History and Reporting

  • LSMW Transaction IA06 - Change general task list

    Hi,
I'm using BDC for transaction IA06.  But now I've encountered a problem in the maintenace package.
For each GROUP(PLNNR) and COUNTER (PLNAL), there are different number of maintenance package: screen field: RIHSTRAT-MARK01, RIHSTRAT-MARK02, RIHSTRAT-MARK03, etc.
In my source data, the input value is in number which corresponds to the text in each RIHSTRAT-MARK  For example, the maintenance package for group PRPMP counter 1 has 1, 2, 3, 4, 8, 12, 16, 26, 52.  From my source data, the package is 12, then I will have to check the 6th box.
The problem is, there are different number of packages for each group and counter, and the sequence of package text is dfferent too.
I'm wondering if there is a table that stores the number of package and it's corresponding text for each group and counter?
I've searched the forum, but there seems no discussion about this issue.  I'd appreciate any feedbacks from you.  Thanks in advance.
    Lily

    Lily Wu:
Were you able to find a solution to loading the data maintenance package: screen field: RIHSTRAT-MARK01, RIHSTRAT-MARK02, RIHSTRAT-MARK03, etc.  ??   Transaction IA06 (Change General Task List: Maintenance Package Overview), Program SAPLCPDI, Screen 3600.   I have searched forum too and do not see discussion on this topic also.
I have a similar situation needing to load Maintenance Package indicator data via IA05 thru LSMW.  I have an LSMW using the Standard Batch/Direct Input.  It is using Object 490 (Gen. task list) Method 0000 and the program Name is IBIP.  I am able to import 2 files.  1 for the Task List Header to Structure IBIPTLST.  The 2nd file to the Task List Components IBIPTMAT.  This process works, but the requirement is to also load the data to update ("check") the  screen field: RIHSTRAT-MARK01, RIHSTRAT-MARK02, RIHSTRAT-MARK03, etc. with the proper 'X's for each component.
I have found suggestions to use the IBIPMPAC (Maintenance Packages) structure to load.  But this structue is looking for a 2 character field (i.e. KTEXTZYK01, KTEXTZYK02, etc.  of type KTEXTZYK).  This looks like the data that would be used for Maintenance Strategies Cycle Lengths found in IP11.
Any assistance in loading the Maintenance Package indicators is helpful.  Thank you in advance.

  • Strategic Maintenance in Plant Maintenance

    Hi All,
I want to change Single cycle pln to Strategy maintenance plan.
Could you please tell what all are the benefits of Strategic maintenance(Time Based).
Will it save some time for Planners?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Sanjay Tiwari

    No
It is only one tasklist with 1 to 30 operations.
If you go for 3 single cycle plans you will have to break this into 3 different Tasklists.
    Oprn 1 to 10
    Oprn 1 to 20
    Oprn 1 to 30
But in a strategy plan you will have only one Tasklist with Oprn 1 to 30 and manage all cases.
This is achieved by mentioning the Strategy you are creating thru IP11, in the Tasklist Header page,
    AND
Marking the frequesncy of each operation in the  'MntPkgs' pushbutton in the operations page of the Tasklist.
(This 'MntPkgs' push button in the oprations page will be available only after you mention the Strategy in the T/L Header page)
After this you have to create a Plan through IP42.
It is not difficult to understand.
You should try this first in Sandbox or Test servers to understand fully.

  • How To Retrieve the Maintenance Package in PM Module for the Maint. Strateg

    Hi All,
I am trying to retrieve the 'Maintenance cycle' for a Package in the Maintenace package of the Maintenance strategy.
I tried table T351P, but except 'Maintenance Cycle' i can see all other fields.
In IP11 and in IP03 transactions i can see the Maintenace cycle field in the grid where maintenance packages are listed.
But could not find a way to retrieve the maintenance cycle.
Appreciate if you guys could help me out in getting the Maintenance Cylce.
    Cheers,
    Jaffer Ali.S

    Tortsen,
I tried the solution suggested by you. Here's what i did :
I executed the  ARCHIV_GET_CONNECTIONS with input field  OBJECTTYPE values as BUS2104.It gives me some entries in the output connections table. From the results , i picked up the ARCHIV_ID and ARC_DOC_ID fields as suggested by you.
I went to execute SCMS_AO_TABLE_GET  with above two values as import parameters and COMP_ID = "data".But it does not give me any output. It says "HTTP error: 404 Not Found". Any idea why is it so?
Then i went to try SCMS_DOC_URL_READ .I find here that there are two mandatory parameters viz . STOR_CAT , DOC_ID.I tried giving the ARCHIV_ID  value above as value for  STOR_CAT . But it does not recognize it.Then i went to the table SDOKSTCA to look for any valid values for STOR_CAT , but i am not sure which one applies to my scenario. How do i find this?
    i'll appreciate any help.

  • Are these requisition release strategies common?

    All,
I’m designing new requisition release strategies for indirect requisitions at a chemical industry client.  I’d like to know how often you have seen the following sorts of design before:
Existing design: Item-based release with workflow, with three dollar levels.  At the lowest levels, two strategies for each cost center approver (the one used is based on whether the desired vendor is foreign or domestic).  Characteristics assign several cost centers to each approver.  Strategies and codes are named for users, so we change configuration whenever someone changes jobs.  The codes are linked to positions, which are attached to user IDs.  Result: about 80 release codes and 140 strategies, taking a lot of time to maintain.
Current redesign: Overall release, using 6 strategies and 6 codes based on dollar level and foreign vs. domestic.  A user exit selects the approver for each code from a custom table that stores the user IDs for each cost center, with a custom maintenance transaction for the table.
Now the client wants both individual approval by cost center owner and items with different cost centers on a single requisition combined with approval of the overall purchase.  I’m considering item-based approval of requisitions, with the user exit and custom table, and adding overall approval of indirect POs with the overall approvers.
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi,
No-Requisition release strategies are not common, one need to design release strategies based on business requirement. Release strategies looks simple after designing but its design needs creating thought to it.
In your case, you can go for designing redesigning release strategies for Overall release with using 6 strategies and 6 release codes. Considering you have configured release strategies with all release values for PO document type ,PO value and Purchasing group. Now design a custom table and go for followings:
    Client---Pur Group--Rel Code1-- Rel Code2-- Rel Code3-- Rel Code4-- Rel Code5-- Rel Code6
The search help is required to pull in purchasing group details from T024 table and SAP user ID from Table USR01
Concept: Create Purchasing Group (OME4) as Department & assign the Department name to Cost center (KS01).
    For more refer a discussion:
PR release: place holder for Cost center and Material grp
NOTE: User training required crate requisition for one department only where only one cost center involved- No requisition creation allowed for multiple cost center.
You can also go for other concept designing of your Requisition release strategies

  • Logic in determining package sequence in maintenance planning

    Hi,
I have created a performance based strategy, with the package containing 2 cycles and 2 levels of hierarchy.
    cycle 1        500H
    cycle 2      1000H
So, the package sequence is showing
    500H     1000H      1500H     2000H    2500H etc
    1           2              1            2           1         etc
When I tested with measuring documents, I noticed that the package due always following the sequence of the cycle 1,2,1,2,1,2, regardless of the the measurement reading. The example I tested with the measuring document is as follows:-
SAP assigned package due in IP10
    1st measdoc = 600H                1
    2nd measdoc = 1500H              2
    3rd measdoc = 2500H              1
    4th measdoc = 2520H              2
I thought, based on the packages defined in the strategy, I should be getting the package due as 1,1, 2,1, which is based on the difference between last reading and current reading.
Can someone shed some light on how SAP determine the Package due ?
    Thanks !
    Lip Huey

    Hi Lip,
My start counter for the plan is 0
I schedule the plan in IP10
Now IN IP10 if i see the scheduling list it will show me the following list
Next planned counter reading, total counter reading, and completed counter reading.
So  when you schedule the plan system will calculate what will be the next planned reading for which maintenance will be due that is the column next planned counter reading. in  this case it will be 500
Now i enter a measuring doc for 600.
If i schedule again if you see the above columns it will show next planned reading as 500 but total counter reading as 600.
If you save this system will generate order and if you TECO the order and  schedule again ain IP10 and see the columns
It will show as completed counter reading as 600, next planned counter reading as 1100 and total counter reading as 600.
Next planned counter reading is calculated  as completed counter reading + 500 which is the next package 2 (If you have maintained shift factor late completion as 100%) If the shift factor is not maintained then sys will add 500 to previous planned reading to give next planned reading as 1000.
Please check all parameters in the tab page scheduling parameters in your plan
And for strategies check column hierarchy this will have an effect on what operations from task list are copied to order.
    Regards
    Pankaj

  • PR Release Strategies and Authorisations

    Hi Guru's
My client is trying to set up their item-level Purchase Requisition Release Strategy to include Cost Centre (of which there are about 800), but they would also like to minimise the number of release strategies to cut down on maintenance of authorisation roles.
If we were to create a release strategy for each cost centre (or group of cost centres), that would result in an insane number of release strategies. So, if cost centre were removed as a criteria in the release procedure, is there any way of controlling the release authorisation based on the cost centre?
So, if a requisition line is created for a certain amount, it will have release strategy, say S1 and release code R1. Two approvers are authorised to release this combination. Is it at all possible to restrict the ability to release this line item to just one of them? Either by config or using a coding solution.
I hope that made some sense.
    Thanks
