Maintenance updates for OS X 10.7?

My MacBook is not up-gradable past OS X 10.7 so I am wondering if there will be any maintenance updates for Lightroom 5 CC from here on out. For instance, any bug fixes (not that I know of any) or any new camera support?
On a related note, is it known when Photoshop CC will drop support for 10.7?

There will be no upgrades to Lightroom 5. Not ever. That's how Adobe does things.
Photoshop CC, as far as I know, will continue to run on your operating system indefinitely; if a newer version of Photoshop CC requires a newer operating system, it will not install on your computer, but the older version of Photoshop CC will remain installed and running (as long as you pay the subscription fee)

  • Where are the regular maintenance updates?

Most expensive/professional software I own licences for
receives maintenance updates and bug fix patches on a regular
basis. Even with shareware and freeware, the patches and updates
just keep coming. Flash Professional should certainly be no
different, there's more than enough bugs to warrant some fixing.
But what did we get? Nothing! Some measly updates for the Flash
player, that's all. Clearly Adobe/Macromedia cannot be trusted in
this department, they just move on to the next project and leave
    users to wrestle with bugs.
A few examples off the top of my head:
    - The new smoothing algorithm introduced in Flash 8 is
kaputt. It blurs bitmaps even when they're shown in 1:1 scale,
anti-aliasing intentionally aliased stuff. Clearly there's some
rounding error or something messing with the scale of things. For
example, I used Flash 7 to make document and application icons in
128x128. They fit exactly to the pixel grid and when I exported
them from Flash 7 they were sharp as can be. When I export the same
icons to PNG from Flash 8 at 128x128, using the same source files,
the edges are suddenly blurred. With some trial and error I
discovered that I had to export them in 129x129 in order to make
them look as they did from Flash 7, then crop the picture in
    Fireworks to 128x128.
    - "Convert Lines to Fills" is a mess. It generates a
completely warped rendition of the selected lines if they overlap.
You have to walk Flash through the process by selecting a few lines
well away from eachother, move them away from the rest, convert to
fills, then repeat this process until you finally get a WYSIWYG
rendition of the lines you wanted to convert.
    - Various UI graphics bugs. For example if you drag-select
across a number of layers and frames in the timeline and insert or
delete, leftovers from the black selection rectangle are still
visible in the timeline. You have to minimize/maximize the window
    to make it redraw correctly.
    - If I enter W/H/X/Y coordinates for an object, say "10.0",
    it's because I want exactly 10.0. I don't want Flash to arbitrarily
change it sometimes to 10.1 or 9.9. Sometimes you have to enter it
    twice to make it stick.
    - Flash 'forgets' parts of audio files in the library. I
import a lot of WAV files to the library, and sometimes a few saves
down the line I discover there are mysterious silent gaps in the
audio. I have to re-import the files again to fill these gaps.
    - FlashPaper (it installed correctly on very few computers,
you had to fix it in a DOS prompt, or FlashPaper would just hang
when you try to print). I've also had complaints that my FlashPaper
rendered PDF:s won't open in Mac OS X.
These are just a handful of examples I can think of at the
moment, I know I've stumbled upon dozens more and I'm sure there's
a collective pool of thousands. What I want to know is why
Adobe/Macromedia feels it's OK to not bother with maintenance
updates and fixes for a product of this price and magnitude? It's a
despicable business practice I would expect from shady vaporware
    peddlers.

It's only your perspective that "nobody seems to care" that
couldn't be anymore incorrect - I see it
first hand how dedicated and caring the developers of flash
    are.
I wont get into a platform war either - but i clearly
remember the MS promotion MS was using
claiming the new "Innovative" features of IE7 - specifically
    showcases their new tabbed browsing
feature and popup stopper - FF had that long before them -
    hardly innovative.
Vista looks and acts very much like Mac OS - at least on the
surface. It's so blaringly obvious to
me that they must have been studying OSX when they were
    deisigning Vista.
Anyway - i dont really care about OS - and your points are
totally valid - I'm a PC user only
because flash always runs better on PC then MAC.
I just think your claims that nobody cares and complacency
within Adobe are ill-founded - I am very
much closer to the people that you are talking about and see
their dedication first hand for years -
unless you are as close or closer, it's hard for me to agree.
But if you feel this way from a users POV - then perhaps
something is wrong on a marketing level or
some other area. Flash 8 was developed by Macromedia - the
next version of flash will be developed
by Adobe - let's hold of on judging them until they come out
with the next version - until then,
complaints of non caring and complacency simply hold no
    weight.

  • The latest update  for isight

can anybody tell me if the latest update for isight,is 1.0.3 1 I have just purchased a new eyesight camera yesterday would this update be already included in the updated isight camera.
tried to download this update, but not successful can anybody show some light on this subject please
    Denis

    Hello, Denis,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
    Yes, 1.0.3 is current.
Because you use Tiger (Mac OS X 10.4.x), you can verify that this is the latest version for your system by plugging in your iSight and then using the
b Blue Apple > Software Update...
menu command. Software Update will inform you if you need ANY updates from Apple.
Moreover, you will not need to worry about future updates if you set your System Preferences... to periodically perform the automatic check for software updates.
If your iSight ever needs updating, Software Update will let you update with just a mouse click.
If you do not perform regular Mac OS X Maintenance, I suggest you do permissions repair
    b before AND after
the update. See Gulliver's Mac OS X 10.3/10.4: System maintenance FAQ for why.
I have also referenced this response in your other post of the question at isight, Sep 26, 2005.

  • CoPilot USA Map Maintenance Update Problem

i'm having a problem with CoPilot USA map maintenance updates. I check for updates and get a notice of a map maintenance update. I download the update and stop then restart CoPilot. CoPilot gives an indication that the map update has been processed. I turn off CoPilot. But when I restart CoPilot again and check for updates, it tells me there is a map maintenance update.
Anybody else run across this problem? More importantly, anybody find a fix?
    Thanks,

This is not an Apple product. This user to user site is intended to help with Apple products only. For third-party products you should contact the developer's tech support. If there is a problem relating specifically to OS X, then you can address that in another specific post.

  • I was getting support for my Office 2008 for Mac, and the support tech said my OS was very slow. I have latest update for Snow10.6.7. Question how can I speed up my Macbook?

I was getting support for my Office 2008 for Mac, and the support tech said my OS was very slow. I have latest update for Snow10.6.7. Question; How can I speed up my Macbook?

    Hi
In the first instance, I'd use Onyx and run through its sequence of maintenance and tune up tools:
    Verify, Maintenance, Cleaning.
I'd also reset the SMC and PRAM (Google them)
If that doesn't help then I'd look at System Preferences.. > Accounts > Login Items tab (not Login Options).  Check what processes get started at login and decide which ones you don't want.
After that I'd use Applications/Utilities/Activity Monitor to see if any processes are using a lot of computer power or if anything else nasty might be happening.
If none of this helped then my final step would be to reinstall OS X.

  • Problem with a maintenance dialog for a table

    Hi,
I created a table (ztable) with transaction code SE11 and a transaction (ztransaction) with SE93 to manage this table (ztable).
When I use the transaction "ztransaction", I have a message like this :
"The maintenance dialog for ZTABLE is incomplete or not defined".
What can I do ? How can I complete or define the maintenance dialog ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards.
    C.

First after creating a table you should creat a Table maintenance generator.
Utilities -> Table Maintenance Generator .
    After creating Maintenance goto
    Environment -> Transaction
This will succesfully create a transaction for your table
You should give parameters while creating the transaction.
    UPDATE = 'X'
    VIEWNAME = your table name

  • Need Help on WRFMGROUP - Manage Maintenance Groups for articles

    Hi,
Has anybody used WRFMGROUP-Manage Maintenance Groups for articles for seasonal procuremen article creation.
I need this to update some article master fields ( like Listing procedure) while creating the article in the background.( WRFAPC11)
    Kindly help.
    Jajati

    Hi Jajati,
you can use the Maitenance Group to define the fields you have to maintain. Therefore, create a maintenance group in transaction WRFMGROUP. Add the needed Field Groups to the maintenance group - the field group contains the article master fields you can fill when using this maintenance group.
As far as I know, you can use the maintenance group in transaction WRFMATBODY after releasing the article in transaction WRFAPC11. I'm not sure, if you can use the maintenance group in the releasing process. In transaction WRFMATBODY, you can the fill in all the fields assigned to the field group.
    Hope it helps.

  • Can anyone help with a good system maintenance tool for ML

Does any one have any suggestions for a good dependable all-in-one system maintenance tool for ML and is it straight forward and easy to use?
    Thanks in advance .....

You really have no need for one. That said:
Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For disk repairs use Disk Utility.  For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. Drive Genius provides additional tools not found in Disk Warrior.  Versions 1.5.1 and later are Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.)
If you are using a pre-Leopard version of OS X, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger.  (These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard, Lion, or Mountain Lion and should not be installed.)
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems. For more about malware see Macintosh Virus Guide.
I would also recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX 2.4.3, or Cocktail 5.1.1 that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. (There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion or later.)
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
      1. Carbon Copy Cloner.
      2. Data Backup
      3. Deja Vu
      4. SuperDuper!
      5. SyncTwoFolders
      6. Synk Pro
      7. Synk Standard
      8. Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
Always have a current backup before performing any system updates or upgrades.
Additional suggestions will be found in

Referenced software can be found at CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
Be sure you have an adequate amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run concurrently. Be sure you leave a minimum of 10% of the hard drive's capacity or 20 GBs, whichever is greater, as free space.

  • Software Update for Nokia N97 Mini

    Hello,
I'm curious when will there be a new software update for Nokia N97 mini.

Would be cool to update it, don't you agree? Almost a year now....

    adrianhughes wrote:
    Hi Abhishek23,
As the N97mini is an older model, its software development and maintenance cycle has ended a number of years ago. There will be no more firmware updates for this device, and every other Symbian device produced in the last few years.....as Symbian is now in maintenance mode and the focus is on the Asha line and the Windows Phone platform of which Lumia is part of.
Nokia should have brought the same improvements to N97 mini which were included in the 41.x.xxx and 42.x.xxx software versions for the C6-00. After all, apart from the camera the C6-00 is the same device as the N97 mini, so it should have been fairly trivial. They are not major changes by no means, but useful.
Unfortunately there is at least one major bug left even in the latest C6-00 firmware: http://www.developer.nokia.com/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=153
It also affects N97 mini with 30.0.004, but it appears Nokia is not going to fix it on either device.

As an example if a new country passed law saying that camera phones had to produce audible tone when photo taken, it could be necessary to amend existing software for that region to remove option to "mute camera sound" if you still wanted to sell device there. Your E72 is a S60 3rd FP2 device which is very unlikely to receive further support now.
