  • External number range for measuring point

    Hi experts,
How to assign external number range for measuring point ?
    Regards
    Shashi

I have just checked and the measurement point number is linked directly with tthe object for eaxample equipment and when I tried this I got the same result the system defaults the number based ont he internal number range.
This being the case what is the business requirement that you need to use external numbering as this may help and someone may be able to assist either with an answer to the problem or an alternative solution.
    SAP documentation as follows:
Create Number Ranges for Measuring Points
In this step you define number ranges for measuring points.
    Notes
As the numbers for measuring points are assigned internally, you should work with the standard settings. If you want to make changes, you should always use number range 01.

  • Measuring Point Description Change-MassChange

I have several (hundreds of ) Measuring points which i need to change .The fields to be changed include the Measuring position    and measuring descriptions. Since its a time consuming process to change individual record, can some one suggest any mass change transaction in PM with which i can achieve this changes without much time as in case of individual changes.
Please suggest some direct method in order to avoid any BDC or LSMW.
    Thanks
    Murad Shaikh

    HI  Murad
As such there is no standard T code for carrying out mass changes for measuring points except list editing (IK08) through which you can do it by selecting one by one. Since the fields you wants to change are free text type & will vary from one measuring points to other its not logical also. Better to do it through LSMW using recording IK02 its very easy & will take 10min to create one LSMW.

Is it Possible to assign Extenal number to Measuring Point?
    Regards,
    Mohan

    Hi,
I dont think there is a way for your requirement. Anyhow the following Enhancements are available for Measuring points/Document. You could check,
    Exit name
    Short text
    IMRC0001
MeasPoint/MeasDoc: Exit before update (after COMMIT WORK)
    IMRC0002
MeasPoint: Menu exit for customer-specific function
    IMRC0003
MeasDoc: Menu exit for customer-specific function
    IMRC0004
Measure.doc.:Exit according to stndrd checks for new mes.doc
    IMRC0005
    Measure point: Exit in AUTHORITY_CHECK_IMPT

  • Removing of the Measuring  point and superior equipment

    Hi,
Can any one tell me the steps to followed for removing and setting og deletion flag for measuring point and superior equipment.
I ran thr Tcode IK05 and deactivated it is it sufficient to do so.please help me.
    Regards,
    Yashwanth

    hi
why you want to deactivate the measuring point ,if you have created a maintenance plan you can deactivate the maintenance plan so that system will not generate the maintenance call object.
or it is better you deactivate the equipment itself if you have done that you cannot able to enter further measurement documents for measuring point

  • Doubt in measuring point

    Dear all,
I know that external number range is not possible for measuring point. But in the system while creating measuring point, internal number range is assigned though it's not been saved.
    Can anyone help me?
    Regards
    Karthik

Ya I have defined but I am not having doubt in the number range definition. Suppose if I ll create one measuring point with the number 1750(say) and I wont save it and came back. Then again I ll enter and the number should be 1750 but it ll show as 1751 (i.e.,) increasing the number range for measuring point. Can you tell me why this happens?
    Regards

  • Measuring points check in IE01 / IE02

    Dear all,
When user create or change an Equipment (IE01 / IE02) , the user  should input field in Measuring points/counters.
Is there any Exits or BADIs for this transaction.
    Thanks,
    Ikrar

    Hi,
Read the documentation of customer exit component EXIT_SAPMIEQ0_001.
In program SAPMIEQ0 (Equipment change), on click on save button:
    1) In you customer exit, read data from measuring points program, i.e. check LIMR0TOP include of function group IMR0 to identify the internal table / structures that contain the data for measuring points in program SAPLIMR0 screen 4110. This way you would come to know if the user has entered data for measuring points. If not, error out.
you can use the syntax using field symbols to read data from other program:
Sample code  (not related to measuring point program.
    DATA : var1 TYPE char25 VALUE '(SAPLIMSP)ISSM[]'.
    DATA : var2 TYPE char25 VALUE '(SAPLIMSP)SCRGNTAB[]'.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS: <fs_issm> TYPE ANY TABLE,
                   <fs_grtab> TYPE ANY TABLE.
    ASSIGN (var1) TO <fs_issm>.
    ASSIGN (var2) TO <fs_grtab>.
    Best Regards,
    Shyam

  • Functional module to Copy measurement points from one equipment to another

    HI,
Please give some body function module to Copy measurement points from one equipment to another which is not assign to functional location.

To Copy Measuring Points from one equipment to another , Go to transaction IE10 and copy all the relevant data that need to be copied Check the measuring point check box, it would copy the characteristic for measuring point to the newly created equipment and would create a system generated number for the measuring point. Both the measuring points would have the same characteristics and if they are attached to each other in a hierarchy then the measurement document readings could also be transferred from one measuring point to another.. You could use the following Function Module "EQUIPMENT_COPY" to copy the measuring point from one equipment to another if equipment has already been created.

  • Fetch Measurement Point

    Hi Experts,
I need to read measurement points asssigned to an order( it's functional location).
We tried RFC MEASUREM_DOCUM_READ_TO_ORDER but it returns measurement documents
    (readings).
In Our requirenment, the order is newly created and no measurement documents exists.
we need to give all the measurement points (only) that exists against the order( it's functional location)..
Could you please help in this.
    Please suggest any table/RFC.

  • Measuring Points extraction

    Hi all,
I’m trying to use the <b>PM_MEASUREMENT</b> DataSource. It works pretty well with Measuring Points linked to Functional location. However, I have some <b>Measuring Points</b> that are linked to <b>Equipments</b> and those <b>Equipments</b> have no connection to Functional <b>Location</b>. For <b>these Measuring</b> Points no data is being extracted at all.
Is there any restriction with the DataSource PM_MEASUREMENT that makes it only to extract data for Measuring Points linked to Functional Location?
If not, does any of you have any idea about what is going on here?
    Thank you very much,
    Claudiomar

    Thanks for your replies.
Saurabh: High volumes of serialized products are produced that are serviceable under warranty.
We are creating Serial Numbers for each model of the Product. We can attach Master Warranty and capture Warranty period for each Serial Number. But for creating Measuring Point / Counters, I have to generate an "Equipment Number" (via the Equipment View) for each Serial Number. If it is possible to do the same without creating Eqpt Num it will help.
Pete: I checked that link you had shown. But in T Code IQ01, I find Serial Number is not figuring in the list "Measuring Point Object (Obj.Categ. in Gen.Status Management)" and there is no IMG set up for this.
    Request clarifications pls.
    Thanks.
