Major Audio Problems on Satellite X205-S7483 after Win7 Ultimate Upgrade

Last night I finished my upgrade to Windows 7, Ran the Official "Toshiba Software Installer for WIndows 7" and was initially pleased to see that nearly all my original Laptop funcaionality, from my Card Reader, to my Fingerprint scanner worked without an issue.
This joy though was soon crushed the momment I went on youtube, and experianced my computers "New" audio fidelity.
My Laptop came with built in Harman Kardon 4.1 speakers, and I have always been complimented by friends at how rich my sound quality was compared to other laptops they had seen.
Now it seems that the currently most updated Realtek Audio Drivers for WIndows 7 (And for that matter Vista and XP aswell, I've tried everything) do not seem to be able to do more than just basic stero sound.
Both my surround speakers and my Subwoofer seem to be completly ignored, and my computer now has a tinny sound to it that is rather offputting when compaired to it's previous preformance.
Can SOMEONE please give me a solution to this, because it's rather maddening to constantly be reminded of the capability I've lost when ever I so much as try and watch a movie, let alone play a video game...

Same trouble has been giving me headaches for some time and i came across interesting thing on two forums, can't remember which one.
Two guys have been able to fix the problem just by installing new drivers from Realtek and then they copied old vista installed files (if i saw good the ones in c:\program files\realtek dir) over the new installed files.
Old audio Vista drivers were original from the beginning 'couse they had same problem with new drivers even on Vista.
That said, I would really appreciate if someone who reads this thread would post link to packed dir i mentioned earlier with original audio files.

Hello all i'm having a problem with my satellite x205-s7483 I've had it about 2 yrs now and lately the seen locks up and I can't move the pointer with the mouse and all the keys are unresponsive. I have to hold the power button till the laptop shuts off then boot it up again. It then works fine but when I leav it alone for a few hours it locks up again. Any ideas whats wrong? Is the memory failing? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Let's try to learn more.
Note the computer-clock time when lock-up occurs.
Open Event Viewer (eventvwr.msc) and expand Windows Logs.
Inspect the Application and System logs for a (preferably Error) event at that exact time.
Don't try to copy anything manually. Double-click the entry and click the Copy button to put the details on your clipboard.
Paste that without editing into your reply - except include only the part above the line Event Xml:.

10.4.9 - Major audio problems with digital audio

I have a Digital XMPCR radio with Edirol MA-20D Digital speakers
I now have major audio problems, the audio is garbled and doesn't sound as strong. Kinda like a FM radio in a car that is loosing signal when you are traveling.
I use this XMPCR for a couple of hours a day and had no problems this morning prior to installing the update.
I have a XMPCR that was modified for Toslink/Digital connection. I connect the XMPCR to my Mac Pro 2.66 with toslink cables and connect my Edirol MA-20D digital speakers with toslink cables. I use Amoeba's "LineIn" for audio pass through.
I thought it might me the FTDIUSBSerialDriver so I reinstalled it, did not fix the problem.
I also have a real bad "buzzing" sound going on in the background. When I quit JXM (the application for changing channels on the XMPCR), the "buzzing" goes away but I have a rapid ticking sound coming out of the speakers until I quit LineIn.
Anyone else have any problems with their digital audio input/outputs?

I dont use the digital XMPCR radio, but I use Digital Performer to record audio and MIDI and I use exclusively the Built-In Audio input and Output and everything is working fine after the 10.4.9 Upgrade.

3.1 update, major audio problems!

so i updated to 3.1 today and just noticed some major audio problems:
1. when I answer a phone call I can't hear anything through the ear piece, but the caller can hear me. i can only hear them when I put them on speaker. same thing with voicemail.
2. the ringer works when I get a call, but text, voicemail and email chimes/tones aren't audible at all.
3. the built in speaker no longer works when playing iTunes music, YouTube, or games. i can only hear audio when plugging in headphones.
all my settings are the same as before the update, but despite adjusting the volume controls/rocker none of the audio settings are working properly. i also reset/restarted the phone (home + sleep buttons) a few times, but no use. what the he'll is going on?

I've got the same thing- from the speakers, no ring tone, games don't have speaker audio, no email or text audio-- except with the earphones. iTunes music plays thru the speakers but not games or afore-mentioned items. l've never had a problem before. also reset and restored- still the same.

Well, it has been a long road on the Win 10 upgrade. At first I got the same error message as above, but after deleting the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 in Win 10 using Control Panel Programs and Features and rebooting, I got into the continual BSOD upon reboot. Here are the steps I took to at least get stable on Windows 10. First, I rolled back to Windows 8.1 using the advanced feature in the BSOD recovery options. Once back in Win 8.1, I deleted the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 using Add/Remove Programs in Control Panel. Then I downloaded the Win 10 update and re-installed it. Once that completed, I updated the Intel Graphics driver under the display adapters (on my G780 it is an Intel HD Graphics 4000, and the driver can be found at https://downloadcenter.intel.com/). Currently I am running version 10.18.10.4252 for my machine. Then, under the Device Manager, I updated the Conexant SmartAudio HD driver under the Sound, video, and game controllers. That driver is currently at 8.66.4.50 and was automatically downloaded from the web when I requested to update driver. I also changed several others settings such as Notify to schedule restart after updates are installed instead of automatic (under Settings --> Update & Security --> Advanced Options) and Do you want Windows to download driver software and realistic icons for your devices? --> No, let me choose what to do, never install driver software from Windows Update. After that, I shut down the machine, waited a moment and booted back up. I have no idea why this helped or if it is overkill, but I am stable and running without a fear of rebooting now. Hope this helps if someone else is having this same issue.

In both cases .... the JDK was installed at /usr/j2se.
iPlanet 6.0 SP4 was already using JDK 1.3.1_02 before ( /usr/j2se ).

If I modify the start-jvm file so that NSES_JDK points to an older version of the JDK ( /usr/Solaris_JDK_1.2.2_07 ) ... or a newer one ( /usr/j2sdk1.4.0_02 ) ... then the admserv instance starts up.
Having said that, in an effort to try to replicate the problem, I tried the same JDK upgrade on another Solaris8 SPARC installation, also with iPlanet 6.0 SP4. That one worked fine with any problems. The admserv instance started fine after the upgrade.
The only different thing that I did was:
1) I first told iPlanet6 to point to a different JDK location ( JDK 1.3.1_03 in /usr/j2sdk1_3_1_03 ) before the upgrade ....
2) restarted the admserv instance ...
3) install JDK 1.3.1_07 ( /usr/j2se )
4) told iplanet6 to point to the JDK 1.3.1_07 ( /usr/j2se )
5) restart the admserv instance
Why would it not work with one installation and not the other ?

This maybe the final clue. I did a truss via:

Problems with opening iBA books after the recent upgrade.

How many folks have had problems opening .iba books after the recent upgrade??
I did ! I completed and delivered a free book which was No: 9 in series - all the others opened OK in iBA after the upgrade except this last one.
I read the forum, none of the offered solutions worked for me.
I contacted support and was eventually asked to upload to there server the original .iba file which I did a few days back.
Today I had a reply to advise they had found and corrected the probem and gave me server access info to download a revised file.
The problem turned out to be the "Intro Media" I had dropped an image and not a video, which I have done before without probelms.
Apple support have removed it and the book file opens OK.
I dont know if this will help others who had problems opening files in iBA after the update.
It does seem as though the delivery of content acceptance critera is getting tighter or maybe its my own fault for doding the requirements!

Its seems like the application load may have not completed properly or there were some issues.
Backup all the data on your device then follow the below articles.

Major audio problems...

Okay...(breathing into a brown paper bag) It started with some imported sequences that produced a heavy, harsh audio pops when scrubbing though, and then mostly no audio when playing down--mostly. Note, this was by no means the irksome "poppy, static-sounding" audio quirks we've gotten to know well in Premiere Pro CC. These sequences were imported into a fully functional system: CC, 7.2, OSX10.8.5, 3.33 GHz 6-Core Intel Xeon, 32 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 ECC, AJA KONA 3. All 23.976 Pro Res 422 LT converted from RED EPIC.
I found that when matching-back to the clip, original clip audio was fine...no pops, no playback problems. AND, when overwriting the clip onto itself (onto these imported, selects sequences) things played fine. Sooooo, to get through the day, I matched back all the clips and blew over their former selves. Things were playing fine then, I could cut and integrate these clips into existing sequences. All good, we might say. Still with me? That was Thursday. Friday morning, I found that MOST sequences, including b-roll selects built 6 months ago, were now producing these heavy, doomsday pop when scrubbing and then essentially not playing any audio. Meters were flat. Nevertheless, waveforms completely present and visible on the timeline. Next, I noticed that the audio line on certain channels of certain clips was missing (see screenshot) and when double clicking said timeline clip to load it into the clip window, we'd actually see a missing slider and the DB level would read "nan." (see screenshot of that and next to it, the same clip from a match-frame for proof of both channels)
We've tried: New projects,repeated pref-trashing passes, un-installing the AJA drivers and PP completely, re-installing from the Cloud...and nothing. Next, we rolled back to 7.1. Started a new project and imported a test sequence from the original. Same story. It seems inconsistent, random, maddening. Scary that a full software reinstall and roll-back didn't fix this. That is to say, we're running a version of Premiere from a little ways back, using sequences from a little ways back, with no hardware changes to our system...
Please advise.

After running some smaller projects have not seen this issue since february. The word on the street that is that it was due to a PE issue. Actually PE 3.0, I think. However, reading through some other threads, this is not an PLuraleyes issue exclusively.
I am back at the editing helm now after shooting a documentary project with lots of clips. We did a bit of early syncing with PE six weeks ago. In the meanwhile we shot some more stuff and I am back editing.
I switched the project to my macbook from my iMac and while I was waiting for the tedium of reconfirming & redrawing of waveforms, the audio started to disappear and now nearly all the clips on the timeline and in the bins have "nan"(not a number) value attached.
I wasted time again on tech support & now I remember I went through the same rigmarole in feb. Took an age to import project into AE. Rexported into Prem. Waste of time. The timeline is corrupt. Same as last time. So now my project is broken. Even if I fixed the hundreds of clips(manually reset all nan values), who is to say the progressive bug doesn't just come back.

VERY DEPRESSING to see this is still an issue. I was ready to move to another NLE then.
As mentioned by another post. THIS IS A MAJOR ISSUE as when it happens in a project there seems to be no way out and, as in my case, I have wasted many more hours and days problem solving rather than creatively editing.

Audio problems on Satellite L755-S5277

Since I bought this laptop two weeks ago, I've noticed intermittent buzzing sounds when playing back video. The sound emitted can best be described as a "digitized" sound that lasts for about a half-second and no other audio can be heard over the top of it. I've not noticed this when playing back pure audio MP3s, but I can reproduce this when playing back YouTube videos in Firefox or playing back MP4s and Divx videos (with AC3 audio) using VLC or Windows Media Player.
I've updated the audio and video drivers, as well as the Synaptics pointing device driver (thinking that there might be a conflict). I noticed that others have had this same issue and made posts to this forum.
Are there any solutions that have been found, or is the device defective and should be returned?

Only a few weeks ago I noticed my laptop is advertised with Digital audio. I looked through the Windows sound options, it told me it was in the front jack. After a lil' googleing I discovered mini-Toslink (3.5mm optical).
I bought a cable, plugged it in, doesn't work.
Made sure drivers were installed, everything seems to be fine there.
Tested the cable in my friends computer, cable works.
So now I don't know where to go from here?
To me it seems as though the jack or plug inside is broken, because when I plug a normal headphone plug into the port it pops a message stating something just got plugged in, it however does not do this with the optical cable.
Has anyone got there HD Audio working on any similar Toshiba? Or does anyone have any ideas as to why It may not be working?

If you are using the right cable then you should try to update the Realtek sound driver.
The newest one can be downloaded from the Realtek page directly.
You should also go to device manager and should update the Intel high definition audio it should be placed in sound, video, and game controllers
Additionally update the Microsoft UAA Bus driver for high definition audio.
Let windows search for the updates automatically. Should work
Then reboot the unit and check the digital output again

Major audio problems with Creative Zen Micro 6Gb... need h

I have had this device for about a year and a half. about a month or 2 ago, there has been problems with the headphone jack. If the base of the headphone cord (all 20 of them i tested) moved, the audio will either go mono-tone, or play a signle layer of the audio file, or no audio at all. although when applying pressure to it, it will play well. I do NOT want to not go hands free just to enjoy my music, so please help me out!

Although a failed power switch is not unknown, I only recall seeing two or three other cases of this. It's not common.
If WMP isn't working with the device having v2 firmware something is wrong. Unfortunately this can be difficult to fix, but take a look here in the Zen FAQ at Nomadness.net.
MediaSource won't detect the player if there's some issue e.g. WMP0 not detecting it. You can of course also try installing Zen Micro Media Explorer (Creative Zen Micro Media Explorer Web Update to be specific) which has MTP support.
Are you are presumably under guarantee, and as you bought from an Internet store, it's best to return it direct to Creative. Contact Creative Support to arrange this.

Iphone 5c has battery problems and shuts down even after charging, just upgraded to 8.2, no help, what is my next option?

No audio on incoming or outgoing calls after operating system upgrade

I have iphone 4.....Everything was working fine with it until today when I upgraded to iOS 5. My condition seems to be described here in several other posts where the phone app appears to be working fine but I can't hear anyone and no one can hear me once connected. I called tech support who advised to do a full reset....which I did many times with no luck. Each time...the problem continued. I got one call out of the phone after the upgrade.
I tried the head phone jack solution which appeared commonly throughout but also did not have any luck.
Out of pure frustration.....I decided to drop my phone about a meter on its back side. I figured it couldn't hurt.
Tried again...and everything is working fine now.
I have no explanation. I did 10+ resets and it was not fixing the problem.....dropped it once and I'm back in business and everything is working normally again.

Any good news for my Disabled phone brothers?
Will iOS 5.1 resolve this freeeking bug issue?
What developers say? Apple had noticed the issue or just ignoring and tryng to be dumb as always?

I download all the driver that i found on the site of toshiba and it's still not working.

I think you didnt install or update the Toshiba tools I agree with MasterG.
It has nothing to do with the device drivers (e. g. WLAN card) because you need Value Added Package and Flash Cards Support Utility. Both tools are necessary for using FN key combinations.

Satellite U200-181 - Sound is not playing after Vista Ultimate upgrade

I have restore Win XP from Recovery Disk and upgrade to Windows Vista Ultimate. After reinstalling sound drivers (which installed correctly) i have no sound in my system. All volumes maximal and not mute. It seems like program sound off (by sound jogdial pressing). But all volumes at right level and not mute.

I have an idea which might help you:
Go to www.realtek.com download the drivers there, uninstall the drivers from the Toshiba website and install the drivers which youve downloaded from the realtek website.
Regardless if its working or not, give a short reply. Would appreciate it. :)
