Major computer problem someone help

so a couple of days ago i encountered a virus on my computer... which always sucks
so i decided after exploring other options to do a complete system restore... lost everything i had but i was pretty sure i was going to at least get my computer acting normal. everything worked out great until the computer went to hibernate mode.... it simply would not turn back on... so i shut it down and tried to turn it on again.... the computer itself appears turned on... but it appears to not be able to recognize anything plugged in to it. keyboard, monitor etc. it just does not work.. i tried to open the disk drive to insert a recovery disk and it wont even open.. i dont exactly have alot of money.. but i do need a computer for my school work, taxes, and other random items... does anyone have any idea whats wrong with my computer and if so how to fix it... if anyone could help me out it would mean soo much to me

Ok... Here is a link to your motherboard information. Follow the instructions on clearing CMOS and in addition to the instructions, remove the CMOS battery after you move the jumper and press the case power button and hold for a few seconds.
Once you have that done replace the jumper to default position.
Reinstall the CMOS battery and plug the power cable back in.
Now try a restart of your system. Hopefully you will now have video again.
If video has returned --> tap the F10 key during startup to access the BIOS.
Set BIOS to default settings.
Now perform the recovery process again and follow the instruction to the letter,
When you start up your system again in Windows do not let Windows update itself.
Go to the support webpage for your PC. Look for updates and hotfixes in the download section applicable to Win XP and install them.
Please post your results

    my i5 screen is broken, i cant get through my passcode to back up my pictures to my computer, can someone help?

    Is it that you cant see the screen or you cant use the touchpanel??
    If you have synced with itunes since you set that passcode you should be able to do an itunes backup which will save the photos even without entering the passcode.

    Windows: How to Authorize or Deauthorize iTunes | PCWorld.
    In iTunes you use the Authorize This Computer or De-authorize This Computer option under the Store menu in iTunes' menubar. For Windows use the ALT-S keys to access it. Or turn on Windows 7 and 8 iTunes menus: iTunes- Turning on iTunes menus in Windows 8 and 7.
    More On De-authorizing Computers (contributed by user John Galt)
    You can de-authorize individual computers, but only by using those computers. The only other option is to "de-authorize all" from your iTunes account.
      1. Open iTunes on a computer
      2. From the Store menu, select "View my Account..."
      3. Sign in with your Apple ID and password.
      4. Under "Computer Authorizations" select "De-authorize All".
      5. Authorize each computer you still have, as you may require.
    You may only do this once per year.
    After you "de-authorize all" your authorized computers, re-authorize each one as required.
    If you have de-authorized all computers and need to do it again, but your year has not elapsed, then contact: Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us.

  • Major iTunes problems- please help

    Okay people, here's a good one for you. On my desktop I have the latest iTunes version, software, and all that jazz. When I hook up my 60GB iPod or my 40GB iPod iTunes locks up and refuses to sync my iPod. I have had this problem for quite a while now. Anyone have any suggestions? Now I have another problem. Since I cannot use my desktop I backed up my 11GB library to 3 DVDs so I can transfer my library to my Sony Vaio laptop. On that laptop I uninstalled iTunes from the C drive and installed the latest 7.3 iTunes on the D drive so I would have enough space. I finished restoring the first disc and then put in the second. A message popped up saying there was not enough room on the C drive for all of the music. What in the ****? I installed on the D drive! So then I looked at the shortcut icon's properties it said it was located on the C drive. I then did the 'explore' thing and it said iTunes was on the D drive. So according to the laptop iTunes is in two different places. Does anybody know what the **** is going on and can you please help me?

    Alright, so on my laptop I got my library to work on the D drive, but guess what. My 40GB iPod won't be recognized by the computer or iTunes but i don't really care about that iPod. My 60GB iPod is recognized somewhat but iTunes says something like "the iPod cannot be read... blah blah blah... you should restore your iPod." I am to the point of refusing to restore my iPod because I did that a few weeks ago for my desktop computer and I had to wait a full 36 hours for another non-Apple program to recover the data on my iPod because iTunes wouldn't sink it. No wonder I don't want to restore my iPod. Please someone help me!

  • Major Nano Problem - Please Help

    I have a 1 GB iPod Nano that worked fine when I got it in May 2006. Now, however I have a major problem. I put my iPod on the computer to charge through USB and when it was finished I could not safely remove. Actually, the iPod was not recognized by my computer or iTunes at all and the screen keeps flashing the apple logo and will not turn off until the battery runs down.
    Here is what I did to try and fix. Reset and restore. I also tried to put the iPod in disc mode. When I put in disc mode my computer recognizes the iPod and it is shown in iTunes but when I safely remove, the iPod remains in disc mode and I can't get out of disc mode unless I reset and then I am dealing with the flashing appe logo again.
    Could someone please help!
      Windows XP

    I'm thinking that the nano is the cause of the problem and so i "think" tou showld send it back for the cost of it and buy a new 2 gig one.

  • Zen touch problem - someone help pleas

    can someone please help me with this problem, no faq can help me.
    everytime i plug my zen touch into my pc, it is never detected by creative mediasource organiser. i don't think the wire is the problem as my zen turns on automatically when i plug it in.
    any help would be much appreciated. thanks.

    I had the same problem which went away after removing (using Add/Remove progarms) all Creative and Nomad software (which I had just upgraded with the autumn software upgrades (i.e. Driver .30.03, CZ and Nomad JB 2.00.9, CMS CD Burner 3.0.8 and CMS 3.30.2)) and then re-installing from the installation CD. I'm guessing it's an XP hardware conflict as the player works fine with the company laptop (including Creative upgrades but running XP Pro). If this isn't a known )or publicised) XP problem I'll try the upgrades one at a time to try to isolate the offender.

  • Major iPod Problems, Need Help Solving

    One day I was casually syncing my iPod video with my computer to get a few new songs uploaded onto it.
    Suddenly, the iPod freezes up, shuts itself off, restarts, and magically it has forgotten everything and pretends it is a brand new iPod.
    No problem, I think, believing it will just need to load the songs again and everything will be fine.
    However, this is not the case.
    The iPod would then continue to load all the songs, shut down after loading them, restart and again pretend it is brand new and lad all the songs again.
    This continues to happen again and again.
    I try to update my iPod, figuring it may just be a version error or somesuch nonsense. The updater refuses to work and actually causes my iPod to crash, saying it has a diskwrite error.
    It refuses to "System Restore" on my computer, so I run the "System Restore" on another window computer that I own. And it runs just fine, making the iPod load songs once more.
    And I think, problem solved!
    However, again, this is not the case.
    I load it once, everything goes fine.
    The nxt day, after buying more songs, I try to upload and after the upload, the iPod shut off, restarts, and pretends to be new once more.
    I go through the "System Restore" process again, but afterwards, the iPod all out refuses to upload my music fully, shutting off about halfway through the process each time.
    And now whenever it is plugged into my computer, windows says it is unreadable and must be reformatted, so I run the updater and it says that there is an "iPod manager internal error" which could basically be another language considering my only basic knowledge of computers.
    Is there any way to repair my iPod at home? Or must it be sent in to Apple?

    GREAT NEWS!
    Last night, through some very thorough digging in the
    "Search Discussions", I found the answer and now my
    iPod is running perfect once more!
    Thank you very much for your help b noir. Without
    you, and many others on this board who had their
    problems solved by equally helpful people, I would
    still be digging through Apple's support section to
    no avail.
    PS. I found the answer in http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?message

  • Ipod problem, someone help me out

    When I update my ipod it gets to about the 150th song or so and then it freezes up and makes some "skipping" noises. I've let it work through this issue before but the songs that it froze on didn't go on my ipod correctly and therefore would cause the ipod to freeze when I tried to play them after the update was finished. Best Buy has told me there is nothing wrong with it but I don't believe them. Someone please help me out.

    You could try removing the check mark from roughly the first 20 songs in iTunes.
    Then, connect your iPod, and when you see your Summary page, select the option to restore. (Note that this will erase everything from your iPod, but will also resolve most iPod software issues). After the restore completes, you'll get the iPod Setup Assistant, which is basically where you type in a name for your iPod. When you get to this screen, uncheck all of the automatic update options, and then click OK.
    On the iPod summary page, you can remove the checkmarks from Manually manage music and Enable disk use. Then, select the option that says Only sync checked items. Then click Apply, and iTunes should start syncing only the songs that are checked.
    If this resolves the issue then there is most like a problem with the songs in iTunes. I would restore them from a backup if you have one. You could also try burning these songs to a CD and then importing them back into iTunes.
    If this does not resolve the issue, you're probably right in suspecting an issue with the iPod. If Best Buy won't help, you can have your iPod serviced through Apple if it's still covered under your warranty or AppleCare protection plan. You can go here to set that up:
    http://depot.info.apple.com/ipod/
    If you'd prefer to go through Best Buy, at least now you can go back there and explain the troubleshooting you've gone through to isolate it to an issue with the iPod.

  • Toshiba P305 major hardware problems PLease help

    I have a satellite p305. The headphone jack stopped working and the touchpad and click buttons stopped working. I tried updating drivers but nothing changed. The other problem was whenever you had to programs open that produce sound (windows media player and a you tube video or similar) The audio came out staticky. This is not when trying to listen to both players at the same time, one is paused. But if you have both of them open one will be staticky. I tore the computer down to see if there was anything visually wrong with it at the headphone jack or where the click butons and touch pad plug in but found nothing. I put the motherboard back in and put it all back together and plugged it in and pressed the power button. The buttons light up and i think either the hard drive or fan spun but nothing else happened after that. Im thinking bad MOBO but i need some advise because this is a computer that i am working on for someone else and really dont want the whole you broke my computer game to be played.

    This is one problem within the DirectX 9.0b:
    Please take a good look at this update for Microsoft DirectX v9.0b:
    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=8dfd1b6d-e177-4a0e-91d0-b4310675b02b&DisplayLang=en
    Possible Issue Description:
    - TV-Tuner card cannot keep TV-Tuner settings in memory;
    - TV-Tuner card cannot be initialized in system after installing DirectX v9.0b;
    - TV-Tuner card cannot capture any picture;
    Official Microsoft Information:
    DirectX 9.0b was released on 7/23/03 to address the MIDI security issue identified in bulletin MS03-030. A small number of non-security fixes were also included in the release. One of these fixes caused several TV Tuner capture card/driver combinations using video formats other than NTSC (NTSC-J, PAL, SECAM) to no longer initialize correctly on Windows 2000, Windows XP, and Windows Server 2003. Symptoms include loss of capture functionality and potential inability to set/retain device capture settings. This hotfix, documented further in Knowledge Base article 825116, has been issued to correct the flaw.
    I believe that your SB card is sharing IRQs with your Firewire hardwares thus causing errors.

  • Major Rendering Problems! Help?!

    Hey guys!
    I'm working on completing a project and I'm having major issues with rendering. I've got three menus, all of which are animated by a 1920x1080 MPEG2 and supported by .WAV files for audio. Everytime I go to render the menu files, it does a myriad of unhelpful things:
    - "not enough memory" - and it goes on to say something about quickly saving... but nothing else happens besides not finishing rendering
    - it just completely stops rendering altogether on one frame (usually frame 811 of menu 1) - which is the most common problem
    - "not enough thread resources".... which I found meant that the filepaths were too long so I fixed that
    - "file exists" - which I promptly go to manually delete the cache files
    I've tried everything... from re-exporting my motion videos to different outputs (.avi as well), to clearing cache, to restarting, to renaming my files, etc. etc.
    I feel like I'm going crazy. Can anyone please help? Pretty please?
    It would be greatly appreciated...

    Unless you are working with 24p footage, your mpeg2 stream WILL be interlaced, even if you shot in progressive.
    If you shot progressive (30p), then you don't have to deinterlace. When Encore transcodes, it will create an interlaced stream, but you won't see any interlace artifacts because each field will represent the same frame.
    If you shot interlaced 60i, you can deinterlace before transcoding (such as when you exporting it from your editing app), and this will cause the same effect of the 30p footage, though with slightly less clarity of native 30p footage.
    30p does not look quite as fluid as 60i, so if you want to maintain the same look as the source footage, you should not be deinterlacing. You will see interlacing artifacts in Encore, but on a TV it will look normal.
    If for some reason the fields got reversed (such as going from HDV upper field first to SD lower field first) then you will get serious interlacing problems during playback. You should never reverse the fields, so if you are going from HDV TFF, to SD, you should keep the fields TFF (top field first). This is very important.

  • Major sharing problem..help

    Ok im having an issue sharing libraries from my PowerMac G5 to a MacBook Pro and vise versa. I have checked settings but I am not sure what is wrong. I can see a shared library on the G5 but I get this error.
    The shared library " " is not accessible for an unknown reason (-3259)
    Check that any firewall software running on either the shared computer or this computer has been set to allow communication on port 3689.
    I have checked in my firewall settings tab in system prefs to make sure itunes sharing is set to on for both machines. I am sure its just a setting on one or both of these machines that is not set correctly. Please help. Im goin nutz here
    I also use the Aiport Base Station (new one) if thats any help.

    Not sure if this will help you, but I had a similar issue and wanted to post my solution somewhere on these forums for others to reference.
    My PC with iTunes has the my entire music library and I was trying to share it to my Mac Mini wirelessly, and couldn't get it to connect. The Mac could see the PC listed under the Shared section, but I would always get the error you received.
    Here's what I did: I went to the Disk Utility (under /Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility
    I then clicked on my hard drive, and under First Aid, selected 'Verify Disk Permissions'. I noticed that a couple of files with the word iTunes in the name were not correct - I ran the 'Repair Disk Permissions', opened iTunes, and sharing worked immediately.
    I hope someone else can benefit from this....

  • X505-Q898 - Major Boot Problems! Help!

    (Preface: I am posting here first because I used to have an X505-Q880 - long story - and it took over 2 months to get it replaced by calling tech support, they are of NO HELP WHATSOEVER)
    I have had my X505-Q898 since November. A few weeks ago, I installed the updated Toshiba Service Stations, as per the directive of my laptop (you know what I mean). I rebooted, all was well. A few days later, I turned my machine off since I was going on a business trip for a few days.  Upon returning, I had to boot up numerous times. Some of the reasons:
    - boot up, get nothing but a black screen;
    - boot up, make it to Toshiba screen, but stops there (no Windows startup);
    - boot up, makes it past Toshiba screen, stops at Windows startup screen
    No rhyme or reason, it varied from boot-up to boot-up.  I thought maybe it had something to do with the Service Station or something else Toshiba-related, so I modified my msconfig to disable most Toshiba programs from running on startup.  When I did this, I rebooted, and everything has been peachy-keen ever since.
    Tonight, I'm on Facebook, and I wanted to watch a video a friend posted from Youtube. I click on it. About 20 seconds in, the computer froze up, but the song kept playing for about 30 more seconds. Then nothing. I did a hard reboot, and "here we go again":
    - booted 2 times, no Toshiba screen;
    - booted with a series of beeps, then nothing;
    - booted twice, got to Toshiba screen then nothing;
    - finally booted to Windows.
    So I go back on FB, click a separate youtube link, and it happens again, crash.
    - booted 2 times, no Toshiba screen;
    - booted once more, and here I am typing this.
    Anyone know what is going on?
    I abhor calling tech support because they are scripted and lack the necessary comprehension to be considered "support."  Giving me a ticket number doesn't solve problems.
    Thanks in advance!
    Jason

    While I don't have this particular laptop, I am a hardware tech in a big IT department, so let's have a go.
    Just to clarify;
    Booting is intermittant and intermittant when it locks up, right?
    So there have been times that it locks up during what is called the post process? (This is before windows starts to load.) That is bothersome from a troubleshooting stand point. Here are a few things to try, if you are up to it;
    1. Disconnect the AC adapter, remove the battery and hold the power button for 10-15 seconds, then put the battery back in and connect the AC adapter. Turn it on, what happens?
    2. Open the cover over the memory. Hopefully you have 2 SODIMMS(memory stick in case you wondered). Remove them both. Put one back in on one slot and power it up. Did it work? Try that same SODIMM and put in it the other slot and power it up. What happens? What I am trying to have you do it to see if it is a memory or a memory slot issue. I had this on a desktop where one of the 2 slots on the mother board was bad. If I put ram in it, it would randomly lock up and freeze or not boot.
    3. This one is a bit harder. Completely open the computer, all the covers and the case itself. Verify all the screws that hold things in or down are tight. If for example the heat sync on top of the processor was loose or not making good contact, it could heat up very quickly to the point of lock up.
    Good luck. I am up in the air on getting a X505 series unit after reading some of these issues and the responce from "Support", so I will be interest to see how your problem gets resolved.
    Jeff
