  • Difference between Oracle 8i SQL Standard and the 9i Lite version

    Hi,
I was wondering if anybody could inform me of the differences that occur between the full Oracle 8i version and the current Oracle 9i Lite version in respect of the SQL they both use.
Would the the way temporary tables are created and managed on the lite version be the same as that on the full version?
Would the SQL syntax also be the same between the two?
Any feedback on this would be great.
    Thanks
    Stephen

    > 1)Can anyone tell me difference between oracle8i
sql engine and 9i sql engine.
    They are different versions.
If you have been expecting a list of differences and enhancements and new product features... forget it. It will take several pages to list. Rather refer to the 9i product feature sheet.
    > 2)Does oracle 9i uses the index defaultly if any
primary key is there in table
Huh? Oracle will use an index if it determines that it costs less to use that index to get to the data, than not using an index.

  • Major differences between Oracle 10g Release 1 and Oracle 10g Release 2?

What are the major changes and differences between Oracle 10.1 and 10.2?
    Thanks

Why not look through the 10.2 New Features doc?
In my experience, the "major changes" are almost always environment-specific. "Transliteration for Japanese Kana Conversion", for example, is likely to be a huge deal for a few organizations (i.e. big enough to justify a migration all by itself). Other organizations and applications, on the other hand, won't care in the least.

  • Should I expect a major difference between 2nd gen Airport Extreme and latest version of Express or Extreme?

Assume that I am within 2-3 feet proximity of the the base station - is there really a difference in performance?  Also, if I am primarly using the wifi connection, is there any significant difference in the performance of the latest version of the Express vs Extreme?
    Thanks!

A second generation AirPort Extreme is a single band unit, either 2.4 or 5 GHz. Both the new Extreme and Express create both wireless networks simultaneously.
There were antenna improvements made about the time of the fourth generation Extreme. Given your proximity to the base stations you are unlikely to observe any differences due to that alone, but the ability to use both 2.4 and 5 GHz networks is a major advantage.

  • Is there major differences between ms 5.0 vs 7.0 version?

    Hi all,
Is there major differences between microsoft bpc 5.0 version with 7.0 version.
Can anyone pls let me know the technical aspects like and the functional aspects of differences too?
    Thanks
    Pooja

From a technical point of view, the version 7.0 support SQL Server 2008.
From a performance point of view, you will have better result with BPC 7.0 + SQL Server 2008 than BPC 5.1 + SQL Server 2005.

    Hello,
I am interested to know about the major difference between 9.02 and 9.03 from a portal perspective. What portal features in 9.03 are not in 9.02 and vice versa? Also, are they backward and forward compatible? Or simply backward compatible.
    Thanks
    Tarek

    Hi,
AS 9.0.3 is only a core version. There is no Portal included. It is only a J2EE version.
For 9.0.2 there is an upgrade available to Portal 9.0.2.6 which is quite the same version like in AS 10g (9.0.4).

  • Major Differences between Project Server and Project Proffessional

    Hi,
We are planning to use MS Project with SharePoint. In the initial research i came to know that we will need MS Project Professional to syn task lists on SharePoint. We are looking at a solution where all the Project Leaders (Across the world) can update
their project statuses online using SharePoint (right now this is being done manually).
I then came to know that we can access MS Project on SharePoint using MS Project Server. I am now not able to decide on which one to choose. So I want to know the major differences between MS Project server
and MS Project professional. Which one would full fill my requirements. I cannot limit my requirements to only updates. but also would want to add some extra features like Site Mail box and Project Issues log, so that my Project Management is more effective
    and is better.
    Please answer at earliest
    Regards

    Srikar --
Microsoft Project Server 2013 is an enterprise project management (EPM) application in which all data is stored in a SQL Server database.  This EPM software application allows organizations to manage dozens, hundreds, or thousands of projects and
to manage dozens, hundreds, or thousands of resources as well.  To use Project Server 2013, your PMs would each need a copy of Microsoft Project Professional 2013 and would use this software to plan their projects and to save and publish the projects
to Project Server.  Your team members and executives would use their Internet Explorer to access the web-based user interface to Project Server 2013 called Project Web App, or PWA for short.
In PWA, your team members can use either The Timesheet page or the Tasks page to report progress on their task assignments.  In PWA, your PMs would be able to see the updates from their team members and be able to approve those updates.  Once
approved, the task updates are applied to the appropriate project so that the PM does NOT have to retype the updates.  For executives, PWA offers the Project Center page which shows the portfolio of published projects in Project Server, where they can
see the current status of each project.
Beyond this, Project Server also includes a Business Intelligence Center where your Project Server administrator can create very customized reports for various audiences.  In brief, there is a LOT of power in Project Server 2013.  If you think
you might want to use it, you have two options:  (1) Buy the software, install it yourself, set it up yourself, and maintain it yourself, or (2) contract with Microsoft to use Project Online, which is a hosted version of Project Server 2013 that is maintained
    by Microsoft in the cloud.
You can learn even more about Project Server 2013 at the following link:
    http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/project/project-portfolio-management-for-the-enterprise-project-server-FX103802061.aspx

  • What are the major differences between a Access Switch and Aggregation Switch w.r.t Carrier Ethernet domain?

In a Carrier Ethernet domain,Could someone please help me understand what's the basic difference between Access Switch and Aggregation Switch both in terms of s/w and h/w functionalities. MEF deals OAM,CFM, EVC provisioning only at the access edge switches. Do we need to repeat all these at the aggregation level? or  is it just used for routing purpose? Do we have a separate Fault Management at the aggregation level?
