Major Performance Loss when the charger is plugged in

I have a Toshiba Satellite L50D-ASTNX, and have been noticing severe performance loss when I have my charging cable plugged in, whether it is losing frame rate in a video game, or receiving extreme stutters and cpu underruns when producing music on FL Studio 11. When I'm not plugged in my performance is great on high performance mode, but the second I plug in my charger I receive an instant and noticeable drop in performance and IT IS FRUSTRATING to say the least. This has nothing to do with my battery settings, nor does it have anything to do with my advance power settings because I have checked all of that. If anyone has a solution to this please let me know because I'm tired of getting only an hour of use on my laptop before I have to plug the charger bac in and leave it alone since it struggles to perform when charging.

Hey cacobo,
I found an article that can help with troubleshooting an iPhone's receiver or speakers.
iPhone: Can't hear through the receiver or speakers
http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1630
Verify that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack, including headsets, headphones, or adapters.
Make sure the Ring/Silent switch is not switched to silent.
While on the Home screen, adjust the volume buttons. If you see the icon below, indicating that headphones are attached, there may be debris or an object lodged in the headset jack:
Check the headset jack. If there is an object lodged in the headset jack that is not easily removed, have the iPhone serviced to remove object.
For Original iPhone: If there is light debris, such as lint, in the headset jack, try connecting a pair of headphones to the headset jack and then remove the headphones. Repeat this several times to remove the debris.
If you have installed a protective film on the display, either ensure that the receiver is not covered or remove the film completely.
Check the receiver mesh (which is on the top front of the device, above the display). If it appears blocked, use a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush to carefully and gently brush away any debris.
If you have paired with a Bluetooth headset that is nearby, either use the headset or turn Bluetooth off (chooseSettings > General > Bluetooth).
Restart the iPhone.
If restarting the iPhone doesn't resolve the issue, try restoring the device.
If the issue persists, go to the Service Answer Center - iPhone for information on service.
Hope that helps,
David

  • Macbook air (11 inch) shows very low battery  percentage when the charger is plugged in

My macbook air cannot be used when the charger is plugged in.  The battery percentage will go all the way down to 0% very soon and the computer will shut down then. For example, it shows 1:40 left in the battery when I did not plug in the charger, but once I plug the charger in , it will show 0:43 left instantly. What might be the problem and how to resolve it?
PS: the macbook air can be charged when I shut it down. And it is no problem when the battery is not empty and the charger is not plugged in.

Thank you very much. Here is the information:
      Full Charge Capacity (mAh):          4128
      Cycle Count:          346
      Condition:          Normal
    Any other suggestions?

  • My computer won't turn on.    When the charger is plugged in it flickers between yellow and green

I was using my MacBook pro felt it charging and asleep for 4 hours.  I came back and it won't turn on.  When the battery is plugged in it flickers between yellow and green.

First thing to try would be resetting the System Management Controller. If that doesn't fix it you are probably looking at a hardware issue. Carry the computer in to an Apple store or service provider, or call Apple to set up service.
    Best of luck.

  • Why does my MacBook Pro battery discharge even when the charger is plugged in?

I've been having a myriad of problems with my MacBook Pro's battery. The main problem is that when in use, the battery steadily discharges often at a very quick rate even when I have the charger plugged in, the only way I can get it to recharge is to close the lid or turn the computer off, however, it has recently started to take a very long time to recharge (I left it for 12 hours and it charged from 0% to 60%). I also noticed that while off, the charger light occassionaly goes green and then back to orange every few minutes. When I manage to get the battery up to 100% charge, it usually stays at 'Charged' for around 5 or 10 minutes and then it just comes up with 'Calculating...' as it slowly discharges, it also occassionaly claims that it is recharging and that it will take around 6 to 8 hours but it only charges about 1% of the battery and switches to 'Not charging'. Also, sometimes the charger light wont come on when it is plugged in and the Mac refuses to acknowledge it is plugged in for some time.
I took it to the Apple Store a few months ago and one of the Geniuses reset the System Management controller and did a quick hardware test which seemed to fix it but the problems returned soon after, I cannot enter the hardware test screen and subsequent attempts to reset the SMC have done nothing, he also tested the charger and tried it with another charger but it did not help.  Hope you guys can help me as I am completely stumped by this and its beginning to annoy me as my Mac is becoming almost unusable.

  • MacBook pro will not charge even when the charger is plugged in and working

So this is a strange one.
I have been using my MacBook pro for a lot of film editing and motion graphics. Recently, I noticed that my battery kept going down, even when charging. I thought nothing on it and kept using it. After around 4 hours, the battery went from 90% to 23% WHILE plugged in. This got me nervous. When I plug in the MagSafe charger, the light comes on and I get the "charging" symbol in my toolbar. The light turns orange and then, after a few minutes, the power starts to go down instead of up.
I have had this laptop since Christmas 2012 and this has never happened before. The laptop does charge, but only when I am running no application, when the screen is shut or when the laptop is powered off. Bear in mind that right now, I am on Firefox, that is the only application open, yet the charge is still going down. I assumed it was because I was using Premiere CS6, After Effects CS6 and Cinema4D, but now even when they are not open, the batter will not charge when I am using the laptop.
What is going on? Is in the charger? Any help would be greatly appreciated and I am starting to stress!
    Thank you everyone for reading,
    -Rory Campbell
UPDATE: I am currently only running Firefox and Finder. Now the laptop is charging as usual. However the second I open up Premiere, After Effects etc, it goes down. I have no idea what is going on!

Try resetting the PRAM and SMC. If you don't know how to, don't worry. They're very easy to reset. Just google how to do it. If that doesn't work, the only thing I would suggest is to take both the laptop and the charger to your local genius bar to have them examined. If it's less than a year old, apple should replace whatever is wrong with it as long as it was a factory defect.

  • My IpodTouch won't turn on! Even when the charger is plugged in.

I suspect it's a battery issue. Anyway, I was listening to music, browsing the internet when it suddenly powered down. I guess the battery life went out. So I plugged the charger in. The screen suddenly turns white. I play around with it, to see if it will change back, but it doesn't. Then the Ipod completely turns off. Now I can't turn it on at all.
I didn't drop it or anything. So I hope the warranty covers this. I SHOULD have the limited one year warranty because I bought this is January of 2010. Also, I did just restore it yesterday...so that might be a factor.
Help someone? And even if you can't help me to somehow fix it, does anyone know if I can get it repaired under the warranty?
    Thanks.

  • HP G72-259WM No pwer light and no chargiang when the charger is plugged in.

The charger has an output voltage of 11 -12 VDC.  When plugged in to charger port, no power /charging LED is lit.
The charger does not charge the battery.  Is there any intelligence in the power port or wiring between the port and the Motherboard,  Please advise.  Thanks in advance
    Doc

    Hi DocPaul,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have read your thread on your HP G72-259WM Notebook and AC adapter issues.
Here are the specs for your AC adapter.
    65 W External Diameter:  7.4MM
    Output Voltage(s):  18.5 V Internal Diameter:  5.0MM
    90W
    DC Voltage:19V
    Rated DC Current:4.74A
    AC Input Rating:100-240V ~ 1.5A 50/60 Hz
    Manuals located here
If the AC adapter you are using is not listed in either of these specs it is not a Adapter for HP and that could be why it is not working.
If they are the correct adapter make sure you have it directly connect to a wall outlet. Surge protectors and power strips might cause an issue.Disconnect all connected devices and cables such as Personal Media Drives, USB drives, printers, and faxes. Remove media from internal drives, and remove any recently added internal hardware.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Why does my Macbook Pro screen go black when the charger is plugged in while using bootcamp?

While on bootcamp, my computer runs perfectly fine unless I have the charger plugged in. Once I plug it in the screen goes black and starts to charge. I know the computer is still on because I can hear audio from videos if one is playing while I plug in the charger. Once I unplug it the screen comes back on. This makes it so I am unable to work on my computer with the charger plugged in. This is a new problem and did not start once I installed windows 7, it used to work fine. Any suggestions?

Thank you for your suggestion! It helped me with this issue as well. My problem was that I was that Windows had started but wasn't logged in yet--the brightness keys didn't work on the windows login screen. I had to log in to Windows, then plug in the power, then turn the brightness up.
    Thanks again for the suggestion!

  • After I updated to IOS8 my iPod 5 charger stopped working, it randomly shuts off when I have the charger plugged in and also when the charger is plugged in, it doesn't charge. The same charger worked on my iPod when I had iOS7. Please help!

ipod 5 charger isn't working after updating to ios8

    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Try another cable. iOS 8 seem to make the iPod more sensitive to marginal cables.
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Is there a way to make the clock show when the phone is plugged into the charger, rather than have the screen go blank?

    Hey guys,
I just finally got my first smart phone (I know), an iPhone 4S. I was wondering if there was a way to make it so when the phone is plugged in, the screen stays on but is dimly lit or something, just so I can see the clock without having to press the button? However, I'd want this to be automatic, as I want the screen to go blank when the phone isn't plugged in. I don't want to have to change the setting each time I plug in the phone. I kind of obsessively look at my phones' clocks when I am doing other things and can't be bothered to reach over and press the button.
I couldn't find an option in Settings, so I came here. If there's no way to do it naturally in iOS 5, is there an app someone can recommend?
    Appreciate it in advance!

Just I tried it on my phone and looks like you can't.

  • What happends when there is an "x" showing in the battery and is not charging when the charger is connected?

on the top right hand corner where the date and time and sound and wifi and battery symbols are, i have my battery symbole set up to show me how much battery life i have by how full the battery icon is, but how instead there is a little "x" icon int the battery symbol and i can only use my mac when the charger is connected, but it still says it isnt charging........***

I have the same problem.. X icon.. Battery indicator LEDs are not showing anything.. we might think battery is bad.. but while booting with AC adapter.. if I remove the plug.. it boots and work with battery fine.. but if I reconnect the AC adapter it goes to sleep mode or maybe just LCD shuts off.. I'm sure of it.. im suing mid 2009 version and I'm gettin a 3 1/2 hrs backup until yesterday.. I was replacing corsair RAM 8 GB one and for the battery connecter.. I use flat screw driver to lift it.. saw a tiny spark then.. thinking thats the cause of all this.. physically everything is fine.. except I need AC adapter to start the laptop.. I wonder if we'll get the exact reason of this anytime..
By the way tried everything.. SMC, NRAM.. those things etc.. nothing solves.. just learnt living with it..

  • TS4036 Error Message:  This iPad hs not been backed up for 3 weeks. Backups happen when the iPad is plugged in, locked and connected to Wi-Fi.

How do I clear up this Issue?  Error Message:  This iPad hs not been backed up for 3 weeks. Backups happen when the iPad is plugged in, locked and connected to Wi-Fi.
I plugged it in and it is charging now.  It will not allow me to unlock it and when I push the 'ok' button for the error message, it still appears....will not go away.
Do I just allow it to charge and it will automatically backup itself?  If not, what do I do?

Hold the power and home buttons at the same time until you see the Apple logo, then release.  This will restart the phone and give you access again.
To troubleshoot your iCloud backup, try deleting your last backup by turning off iCloud Backup in Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup, then tap Manage Storage, swipe across your backup and tap Delete, then go back and turn iCloud Backup back on again.  If it still won't back up, you may have an app that is preventing the backup from succeeding.  To locate which one, go to Settings>iCloud>Storage & Backup>Manage Storage, tap the name of your device under Backups, under Backup Options tap Show All Apps, then turn them all to Off (including camera roll) and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, then the camera roll and/or one of your apps is preventing the backup and you'll have to located by process of elimination. Turn the camera roll On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds, turn some of your apps to On and try backing up again.  If it succeeds again, turn some more apps to On then try again; repeat this process until it fails.  Eventually you'll be able to locate the problem app and exclude it from your backup.

  • How can i fix my iphone 3g if and only it displays the apple logo when it is connected to its charger but it displays nothing when the charger is removed?

how can i fix my iphone 3g if and only it displays the apple logo when it is connected to its charger but it displays nothing when the charger is removed?

Plug it into a wall outlet and leave it plugged in for approximately 20 minutes.
Then try a reset by pressing and holding the home and power buttons for 15-20 seconds.
Does the device power on at this point?  If not, the battery or logic board is gone.
Take it to Apple for evaluation.
It may be worth replacing the battery, but I personally wouldn't spend the $149US for an Out of Warranty replacement on a 3+yr old device.
