Major Problem w/ USB Sound Interface Driver

I want to start off saying that I have Parallels Desktop installed w/ a Windows 7 Guest OS.
I have the Audio 8 DJ driver installed on Windows 7 AND OSX Lion. However when I plug the Audio 8 DJ interface in, it allows me to choose whether it will be connected to Windows 7 OR Lion OSX. So I doubt there will be any conflict there.
HOWEVER!
There is..
A) When I plug it into the Mac, I get a terrible amount of distortion from the driver.
B) When I plug it into the Windows 7, it 'forces' the audio 8 DJ to go back to the OSX lion and crashes the Parallels 7 program.
So I tried to uninstall the windows 7 driver and the Parallels as well. But it doesn't solve my problem.
I noticed that even when I uninstall the OSX Lion Audio 8 DJ Driver, it still pops up in the Audio MIDI as a "CoreDriver." I am new to Macs so this kind of surprised me. I hope someone can sort this out for me, because I found this problem out in the middle of a gig!
Thanks.
PS: I tried the same interface on a seperate desktop computer. The output is completely fine.
Thanks again.

No soldering! USB 3.0 port should be backward compatible with USB 2.0 devices. I didn't answer your first message because I know nothing about external audio 'appliances'. But there have been numerous complaints about the USB 3.0 ports on 2012 MacBook Pro models. The July 18th Software Update apparently fixed the problems for some but not for others. Wait until later this week and install Mountain Lion to see if it fixes your problems. If not take your computer (and your audio gear) to your local Apple Store and let them know that you are having trouble with your USB 3.0 ports supporting USB 2.0 devices. See if they have a 'fix'.
That's the best that I can recommend right now. Apple may blame it on your audio equipment but let them know that you are aware of the many problems that have been reported concerning the USB 3.0 ports.
Good luck,
Clinton

  • Usb sound interface - AMD processor - win7 noise problem

I use m-audio mobilepre usb as the external sound interface. I got the noise(crackles) problem when I was using win XP and vista but HP USB filter patch solved the prblem.
Now I use win7 but usb filter doesn't work at the same problem. I checked all USB ports and one of them -sometimes- works properly. But it's not an exact solution and I don't want to re-use WinXp etc. There are many people crying about the same problem. In different forums I saw problem was related with IRQ, hubs etc. but I don't know how to configurate. Do you have any idea? Thanks...

I am one person who has been posting about and investigating this problem with various usb1.1 audio interfaces. I believe the mobilePre is usb 1.1 rather than usb2.0, but I may be wrong.
I have been in touch with m-audio about my Fast Track device and this issue and they say they have raised it as a bug with AMD who are responsible for the chipset in my machine as well as the processor. I can only assume that this means that they, m-audio, are seeing the same problem.
I can record and play cleanly if I insert an external usb2.0 hub, with or without external power and also disable the wi-fi on the machine.
There are free Microsoft applications that allow you to log and see the commands being sent via usb, and here they clearly show usb problems that only occur under Windows 7. I can post about these tests if they will help, but they do involve some nerdiness and hard work getting them to work. Alternatively, I am still trying to get anyone to respond after trying my simple test of setting up the usb device to play using asio drivers, open Windows 7 Control Panel audio device manager and switch between the recording and replay tab. This should not affect the asio usb audio at all. Does this alter the crackling?

  • Some huge major problem on this sound card X-Fi Fatal1ty with Gigaworks S75

I done a clean reformat on my computer last night, so i slot in my Fatalty sound card and fix in the internal I/O dri've into my CPU. After that i done a clean installation on the sound card driver program. When i have done so, i plug in my speaker " Creative Gigaworks S750 ". I connect the 4 connector "gray, orange, black and green" to their connector at the subwoofer, and connect the other 3 "orange, green, black" to the sound card, but left one more optional connector left which is gray, so i didnt connect the gray one. After that, i boot up my computer and run the "Creative Speaker Connection Wizard", however i only notices only 5 of my speakers works. The other 2 doesnt.......so i thought it might be a fault with my speakers, so i switch the rear to side speakers, but it still stay the same problem....i try all other speakers as well.....and i found out that my Gigaworks doesnt have any problem, but how come my gigaworks speakers couldnt work with Fatality? I mean how come only 5 speakers got sound while other 2 doesnt? Could it be, i set the settings wrong in the X-Fi Creative console? I need serious help....i heard of good previews on this sound card...so i do really hope there will be a solution to fix this for me...thanks alot.....any help will be deeply appreciated.. need replys from you guys as soon as possbile.
    Creative's Fan Regrads,
    Benjamin

I believe it is the spare connector you left unplugged. Do you have the cable that came with the speakers? Should have a 3-mini jack connections on one side, and 4-mini jack connections on the other? Creative uses a 4-pole mini jack to add the side speakers to the rear and center/sub jacks on the soundcard. The 3 to 4 ended cable should allow you to connect properly

  • Major Problem with Multiple External Hard Drives! Watch Out!

I've almost completely given up on Aperture and gone back to Iphoto due to a major glitch in Aperture that actually cost me loss of some wedding photos (approximately 20)! Watch out for this, it is damaging.
I have 3 external hard drives, and of course when you mount disk images and cards you gain them in finder on the left hand panel. It seems the order of the mount is crucial to Aperture locating things and consequently if the mount order changes Aperture can no longer locate the files, and worse if you import to hard drive it doesn't import to anywhere!
The situation I have is that the other day I was importing wedding images and was up to the last card (fortunately we had 2 photographers so the loss isn't as detremental) and the power went off. Happens a lot where we are.
So upon power comeing back on the external hard drives remounting, I have figured out they mounted in a different order to what they were previously.
So upon going back to Aperture I went back to importing to the same external hard drive location. It had no warning of a problem and seemed to import without a problem. However once it had finished, on clicking on the thumbnails the images wouldn't load. I imported again and the same problem happened, however I didn't realise and had deleted the files. When I realised I tried to locate the files using spotlight. They are no where to be found!
Also because of the re-order of my hard drives aperture can't locate previously imported (referenced) files. I can find these ones on the hard drive, so I haven't lost them, but it will take unmounting and mounting several times in different orders to try and get them back because I do not remember which way they were mounted!
This is terrible! Aperture is a mess. This sort of thing shouldn't happen. Besides it's still too slow and it has slowed my production time substantially. The only thing it has over Iphoto is it doesn't degrade the JPEG each adjustment. However in Iphoto this is negligable, it can't be noticed, and I am not going to sacrifice time, lost photos for a minute level of extra quality.
Aperture get your act together. I wasted my money back when I purchased the full price 1.0 version.
Has anyone else experienced this problem?

    Hardly high and not mighty.
    But, to your points.
It sounds like you do have a UPS, not a surge protector, though it probably provides this in addition.
The fact that your external drives dropped during import is the same as removing a drive without unmountingf it, yes? Who knows what state the inode/allocation tables look like and no surprise that any clusters part updated were dropped. They'll rebuild from the cast complete mirror, but in-flight changes would not necessarily have been written to both sets of tables.
I cannot understand why (for you) Aperture appears to need the drives mounting in the same order. Disk Utility may show something, but I suspect you tried this.
However, and this I do challenge, the fact that you blamed Aperture and stated categorically it behaves a certain way when it does so only under some odd or errored hardware condition is not the thoughful optinion of an experienced Mac user. I wish you no offence but despite what you observed and your experience, I do wish to correct your sweeping statement.
The other comment I would challenge is that "I'm writing for people to watch out for and to trial ..." I would agree with that statement if that was any part of the context of the original post. No, your original post was far more negative and accusatory.
Your other new comments are clearly based on issues causing you angst. I have felt most of them, but at the end, it is software. Perfect? No, but I haven't had a crash since 1.5.1. Far from perfect? Yes, and many features missing that may be added in v2, v3, v.... . Best for my purposes despite its faults? Yes, by far. It is the fastest and most productive way for me to get to end-of-job.
Now my question for you since: what in your view is a superior alternative? Many on this forum are professional/serious amateur photographers who want some software company to succeed. Perhaps the reason we contribute to the Aperture forum is because we've found it the best horse to ride and therefore want to see it improve.

  • Major problems with USB ports all of a sudden

    Hi everybody,
I've a late 2008 Unibody MacBook Pro which seems to have developed a nasty problem over the last week. It started when I inserted my USB mobile broadband dongle which I have used time and time again with no problem. I put it in the USB drive and (this is tricky to describe) but a line kind of scrolls down the screen and I get a message telling me I must shut down the machine in several different languages (using power button as nothing else works). I thought the dongle thing had gone wrong but it works fine on my girlfriends brand new 13" MacBook.
Now when I do the transfer of my work stuff from an external HDD to my MBP it recognises the drive but transfers the 15GB of data at 1MB per minute! There isn't anything wrong with the External HDD (it works fine on aforementioned MacBook and all other Mac based machines - transfers the data in 10 minutes).
I've 1 month of warranty left, what's happening?

  • Facing problem with USB controllerr & Bluetooth driver

    Hi,
I have the problem with HP pavilion 15-r060tu...
I'm missing Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller and Ethernet Controller...
i have switch os from by default ubantu to Windows 7 32 bit and
i got all drivers support but I cannot find usb controller them anywhere so
facing some problems with bluetooth drivers also.
    plz help. thank you

No configuration or modification of system files is required. If the USB Bluetooth dongle is Mac compatible, just plug it in and open the Bluetooth system preferences pane.
Not all USB Bluetooth dongles are fully Mac compatible.

  • Problems with USB Audio Interface

My Behringer mixing board came with a USB Interface so I can out put the audio from the board into my laptop via USB. The trick is though Logic recognizes it and I can record say microphone audio from the board on Logic, I cannot hear the tracks that already on Logic. For instance, say I want to record a vocal track onto something I have created on Logic. Logic will let me record the microphone vocal but it won't allow me to hear the track, rendering it useless. It is a very simple USB interface and I have been thinking of upgrading but I am wondering if it something I am doing wrong on Logic. Any thoughts?
    Ken

when you select , lets say the USB device in your audio preferences, it will be used as the input and output device. You can use the USB interface's audio outs plugged into your mixer, and use speakers or the headphone jack. When you create an aggregate device, using the USB device and your built in audio, and choose it in your audio preferences, this allows you to use the inputs and outputs of both the USB interface and your built in audio from your mac. So now you can record from one device while listening back on another. meaning you can record the audio from the USB device and listen back using your Mac speakers or from headphones plugged into your mac.
if you get a better audio interface, one with mic inputs, you will still need to connect it to speakers or plug in headphones to it to hear audio. If you have the budget, a dedicated firewire audio interface will usually give better results, in audio quality, than a behringer mixer and a usb interface.

  • MULTIPLE USB SOUND BLASTER in ONE SYS

I?m having the EXACT SAME problem. I thought it was something isolated, but apparently it isn't.
Sound just "pops" and "shutdowns" at an irregular interval of time, which is extremely annoying. I've noticed that it depends highly on the usage I'm giving the PC at the moment. When it's jsut sitting there plkaying music, it rarely happens. But if I'm browsing the web, with sites heavy on images or working on several tabs at the same time, it turns into a 0 second thing, making music almost unbareable... installing ANYTHING at the same time kills anything, 2-3 second pops and fades.
Before you even suggest it, I have a rather high end PC, phenom II 4 cored PC with 4GBs of RAM and a Caviar Black Hard dri've, so it's NOT that the PC can't handle the load. Its jsut browsing with music in the background... with half decent drivers, a 5 year old Celeron PC should be able to handle that...
I've read those troubleshooting guides over and over, and it's amazing how they suggest to shutdown/disable numerous things tha twill kill performmance in other areas, so we can have a functional audio solution. The only suggestion that makes a lot of sense is IRQ sharing with components, such as video cards/SATA dri'ves. I haven't checked/tried that, because unfortunately I'm not quite sure how/where to change the IRQ values... any help there?

    Hello,
Since you downgrade your laptop to xp, drivers are not installed properly, if you check on our website and choosed xp for the operating system, driver are limited, I suggest to return computer to its original factory condition, might wanna consider ordering the recovery disc if you did not create one

Your sound driver is IDT high definition audio and not a Conexant, Using the driver for Conexant would not work
If problem is still there, pls inform me

    Hi,
You are using now 6.10.6159.0 D (SP43935.exe) version? Right?
So uninstall Your audio drivers and try to install previous version 6.10.6087.60 C from here.

  • Problem with SB1240 USB sound card

I'm pulling hair here! I've just bought a SB240. Windows (XP Pro, SP3) detected it and I can select it fine for listening. But when I open Sound and Audio Device Properties and select Sound Recording/Volume, I see the Capture panel with the three inputs, but all the controls are greyed out and immovable. I also use the application "Total Recorder" by High Criteria, in which I can select the SB240 device but the only input line it sees is SPDIF Interface.
    I'm stumped. Can anyone help?
    John?

&Re: Problem with SB240 USB sound card
Thank you. I did a complete uninstall, including the device itself (from Device Manager) as well as all drivers and any SB related software. As recommended by Creative, I had previously installed the driver software from the supplied CD and that seems to have been the problem.
I let Windows re-detect the SB, but? got a "problem ... device may not work correctly.." during the detection, so I was not hopeful (this had not happened the first time I installed the device).
Nevertheless it now does work fully and is properly configured in "Total Recorder" too.
So I would suggest not using the supplied drivers and software - at least not in WinXP. But it's not very confidence inspiring.

  • After installing Mountain Lion doesn't external hard drives mount or stay mounted. Anybody else with this major problem?

After installing Mountain Lion doesn't external hard drives mount or stay mounted.
I have tried resetting my Mac's PRAM but the problem still remains.
Even USB memory sticks are unmounted efter a few seconds.
Anybody else with this major problem?

I have the same problem, although mine has not been solved by ESET update, finder settings, PRAM & SMC resets or anything else.
Don't get it, my external hard drive still works on both my housemates computers - one macbook pro (with snow leopard) and one dell, just not on mine with mountain lion.
    Any ideas for me guys?

  • Performance problems in games with Sound Blaster USB Sound Dev

    Hello!
I recently bought a new USB sound device named "Creative Sound Blaster Surround 5. USB Sound Device"?or maybe also "Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit External" as this is the name that Windows is displaying.
Before, i was using a C-Media PCI Audio Device.
    Other system info:
    Windows Vista SP
ATI Radeon 9200 LE (i know it's old, but i was able to play the games before)
    2GB RAM
Now, my performance in games decreased significantly.
I only play Team Fortress 2, but i also tried an old GoldSrc engine?based game which was also slower.
The game now isn't playing fluently like before: my fps dropped and every few seconds, the graphics stop as there is a big network lag. It is now impossible to really play the game.
    i already tried
    - reinstalling steam and tf2
    - using another usb port
    - reinstalling the sound drivers
    - all (both sound and graphics) settings to low
The Steam support thinks that the data transfer rate for USB isn't high enough for what is needed and recommends that i should buy an internal sound card.
But i hope there is a different solution to this problem and someone here can help.
    Thanks!

No PCI interface, but USB = Slow. No hardware-acceleration (Mayber your CMedia had !real!, not pseudo?DS hardware support) so its normal that the soundblaster usb is slower in every term. But maybe sounds better...
The USB versions are only for Notebooks and other speciall situations where a PCI soundcard with X-FI or Audigy chip cannot be used...

  • Can`t install idt / no sound / missing driver component (THE USUAL **bleep**IN IDT PROBLEMS)

    Hey,
first of all i want to excuse my vulgar language (aswell as my orthography), but honestly?
since around one week i got serious problems with my sound drivers, i have tried many things to resolve these issues already and am now close to despair browsing these forums thinking whether or not i should just throw this laptop out and never go back to hp.
    how it all started:
So i will try to start over. Since last week my audio fails and i encountered various problems while reinstalling the drivers, reinstalling the BIOS, reseting my laptop to factory settings and practically trying everything.
It all started with me being unable to adjust the volume and beats audio not responding. i shortly before tried updating to windows 8.1 though i doubt this update had anything to do with the issues (after rerolling to factory settings later that week the problem reaccured). the sound just vanquishes shortly after a restart. restart problems began to appear
    Symptoms:
    -generall:
    Failing Sound
         - Windows displays sound in the sound regulating system but there just isn`t anything to hear
Failing reboots (yes and this one is freaking me out, my laptop sometimes goes into blackscreens when trying to restart. if shutting down and booting this problem is unexistant. but yet i am very rarely able to restart the computer with the corresponding function. sometimes it works without problems though. )
    -IDT:
since a day i get the massage that the detected hardware isn`t supported by the software package. i never got this massage before during tons of idt installations. since estimatedly the same point in time beats audio is unexistant and i run on windows default audio drivers.
    -Default drivers:
sound very quiet and aswell vanquishing completly after some time
what i tried up to now:
i tried downloading drivers directly from here and i tried repairing them with the HP recovery manager, i tried reinstalling pretty much every driver, in my IT-incompetence just making sure there isn`t some problem with how other drivers cooperate with the idt audio codec. espacially the fingerprint driver was giving me headaches since this totally irrelevant **bleep** wasn't working since quite some time and somewhere on the net i saw a support thread about faulty validity drivers being the cause for other problems. i also, as suggested, tried random power resets inbetween the hundret restarts i have run, to no success. i rerolled to factory settings and still the sound would be no more, shortly after rebooting.  sometimes deleting random (not realy that random, more like it have been many and i can't say wich shutdown was successfull anymore)  prozesses helped, and i suddenly had cound again, sometimes deleting some programs like the fingerprintscanner driver or others, helped and restored the sound for a longer period, but in the end, it faded once more.
a short brakethrough was the chipset driver reinstallation, providing me with sound for estimatedly 2 hours.
but right now, i don`t know what to do anymore since i have no idt driver whatsoever on my pc at the moment and i can`t instal one. also i am to ennoyed to perform another reroll.
to the support administration (If something like that is existant):
SERIOUSLY i found TONS of people describing nearly the same problems and i was always enlightened by the helpfull Hp employees redirecting every last one of them to a driver link that neither changed anything.
Please don`t misunderstand me, i know you guys might want to help, and this defenitly isn't ment to criticise any one who tries to help in these forums. But not even one of the corrresponding threads recieved a solution? PLS HP JUST TRY to **bleep**ing answer what the hell is goes on with your Audio devices.
i will post this as it is right now since i have no time to recheck if everything is said. maybe later. gotta go. hope someone can help.
    cheers.

Okay while i still got no answer in this forum my problem becomes harder and harder to track down for me.
i just installed a BIOS update (it was recomended by the hp assistant) wich ran smoothly untill i first got a litle concerned when seing a -maybe just misleading- text panel. It was just after the BIOS update was completed, and i have been informed not to turn of my computer during some minutes in wich the screen may stay blank and various LD lights might blink. It initiated, just like i thought it would. The screen went 2 times from enlightened black to black while keyboard LEDs flashed. So far so good.
But than this blue panel shows up saying "Flashing Boot Block", nothing flashes for a while in wich a progression is shown in percentages underneath this very panel.
Now to get back to the Topic: WHY is my Soundcard or Driver again DEINSTALLED after this BIOS update??????
I had it before! it still stopped working -the sound stopped- some times but it was there!! and it might well work the next time i open my laptop to watch a video listen to music or play a game! So why is it gone after this BIOS update? i will ofcourse check if i may now install the drivers for my Product but i am not confident that it will succeed.. lets hope so...
I just try to understand what is going on and therefor a short explaining answer to some of the questions i hinted to within my posts would be very appreciated.
Best regards, a believing support forum user..
