Major Rendering Problems! Help?!

Hey guys!
I'm working on completing a project and I'm having major issues with rendering. I've got three menus, all of which are animated by a 1920x1080 MPEG2 and supported by .WAV files for audio. Everytime I go to render the menu files, it does a myriad of unhelpful things:
- "not enough memory" - and it goes on to say something about quickly saving... but nothing else happens besides not finishing rendering
- it just completely stops rendering altogether on one frame (usually frame 811 of menu 1) - which is the most common problem
- "not enough thread resources".... which I found meant that the filepaths were too long so I fixed that
- "file exists" - which I promptly go to manually delete the cache files
I've tried everything... from re-exporting my motion videos to different outputs (.avi as well), to clearing cache, to restarting, to renaming my files, etc. etc.
I feel like I'm going crazy. Can anyone please help? Pretty please?
It would be greatly appreciated...

Unless you are working with 24p footage, your mpeg2 stream WILL be interlaced, even if you shot in progressive.
If you shot progressive (30p), then you don't have to deinterlace. When Encore transcodes, it will create an interlaced stream, but you won't see any interlace artifacts because each field will represent the same frame.
If you shot interlaced 60i, you can deinterlace before transcoding (such as when you exporting it from your editing app), and this will cause the same effect of the 30p footage, though with slightly less clarity of native 30p footage.
30p does not look quite as fluid as 60i, so if you want to maintain the same look as the source footage, you should not be deinterlacing. You will see interlacing artifacts in Encore, but on a TV it will look normal.
If for some reason the fields got reversed (such as going from HDV upper field first to SD lower field first) then you will get serious interlacing problems during playback. You should never reverse the fields, so if you are going from HDV TFF, to SD, you should keep the fields TFF (top field first). This is very important.

  • Major Receiver Problems-  HELP!

I got my first Nike Plus kit for my 2nd Generation Nano. I loved it the two runs that it worked then it would not recognize the receiver. I ordered a new kit and still had the same problem so I ordered a brand new Nano. It worked for a couple of runs and then would not recognize the receiver again. I ordered a 3rd kit which worked fine for about 40 miles and today it will not recognize the receiver again. I really, really want this technology to work because I love it but I am really getting frustrated since I am on my 2nd Nano and 3rd kit. I am not rough with gear. Could I just be the most unlucky person in the world that keeps buying defective equipment? Any advice would be very helpful.

I have has really major problems this week as well. I use a 3rd gen nano and for 10 runs my sport kit worked really well. I did a 5k race on Sunday and the ipod could not find my sensor. I played around with it and got it work after about 10 attempts (after my race, of course). I thought I was all set when I went on my run today. It was working fine, then I looked down at my ipod and it said I had only run .3 miles when I gone over one mile. I started a new workout and it did the same thing twenty minutes later. Then it could not find the sensor. I am really excited about this product and want it to work. The support hotline was closed after my run. I hope they send me a new one and that works well.

  • Major graphics problem - help!

Over the past month or so I have begun to notice an intermittent issue with my graphics where multiple vertical lines of different and changing colors appear to "rain" all over my desktop. I've tried different user accounts, display settings to no avail.
Another user had this problem about a year ago and posted a picture nearly identical to my own problem: http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=4133857#4133857
In this thread the user traces his problem to the graphics hardware, which he was trying to replace, but doesn't say whether or not that resolved his issue.
I ran an extensive hardware diagnostic at the local Apple store which found no problems with the graphics card. The guy there offered to replace the card for $350.
So now I have a conundrum. I'm planning to replace this system in the near future - but what do I do with this powermac? It has 5.5 GB RAM and has performed nearly flawlessly for over four years. Can I sell it in good conscience? What more can I do to resolve this problem?

    Hi Eric Beyer-
When you can take a screenshot of the problem it is generally the graphics card.
If you take a screen shot while the problem is happening, and then look at it when the picture is normal, and you see the problem that would be it.
Have you opened it and looked for dust build-up?
    Luck-

  • IPod Glue Major Glue Problem, HELP

    Hey guys!
Recently after I bought my iPod Nano 6th gen, I got a case for it, got all my songs on it, awesome! But there's more. See I'm a perinoid guy, and all the cases left the back metal clip naked, and dropping the iPod on that section could cause some shock wave damage to the iPod, and sratch the back up pretty bad.
So stupid me went and grabbed a few pieces of small rubber and glued the on to the back with elmers all purpose glue stick. It's a living nightmare. The whole thing is sticky, the clip, the case, the iPod. I let it sit for 3 days and its got that oily feeling to it because of the glue anywhere you touch it.
Does anyone know how to properly clean this up, WITHOUT, harming the iPod? Please give any sugestioins!

  • MAJOR EXPORT PROBLEMS! PLEASE HELP!

Hello. I hope everyone had a nice holiday. I'll try to be brief. I'm having a horrible problem with exporting my films.  I work on a PC. To me, that shouldn't matter, but here's what's been happening.  I shoot my films at 23.976 frames on the 5DMII and the 7D.  My film got into a film festival. They asked for a 720p mp4 file. OK, no problem. I went under H.264, I exported an HD File, with 23.976 frame rate and I checked both boxes for Max Render and I set a 2-pass. I exported and when I played the vid back through Windows Media Player, it felt fine.
BUT, at the festival this past weekend, I was horrified to discover that my film, and no other films, was having a major sound problem. The audio was about half a second ahead of the footage, so they kind of looked like they were speaking correctly, but their dialogue would finish right before their mouths would. Super embarrassing. All I noted when I saw the tech booth was that they were using a mac laptop hooked to the projector, so I assume maybe it was quicktime they were running? Also, I believe they put all of the vids together as one file so it would run together as one block, but still, I believe most of the other films were shot at 23.976 frames as well, so that shouldn't matter.
I went home, thinking maybe I just wasn't being diligent enough and I needed to really look at the sound. Maybe it was off. But I keep all of the temp tracks, the sound from the dslr, on track 1 and then just mute it. I unmuted and played both tracks, and there's no difference. No echo, no weird delays, they're both perfectly synched up.
I've been having this problem for a long time but this was the first time that I REALLY could see the problem, probably because it was on such a big screen. Just my opinion, but I've found that most festivals are running MAC software and it seems like the vids I export seem to have an audio problem being played through mac programs. Another instance, briefly. I did a screening for a feature I edited. I exported an HD mp4 and put it on a friends MAC. The sound was off when we pre-screened it. I have a PC Toshiba laptop, I ran the vid through windows media player, and it felt much better, so we screened using my laptop and it went fine. But what does that mean?
Has anyone else had this problem? It's not just festivals too. I have a subscription with Vimeo, but every short film that I put up there has some kind of an audio drift problem. It's always minor so some people see it and some people don't, but I'm certain the vids are fine on my timeline. Do I need to export using something else? A different setting? As a quicktime vid? That last question seems kooky since any tutorial I've seen is usually wanting h.264, so I just don't know.
Please let me know if there's anything I can try or if you just have an opinion. Thanks very much.

    Hi,
I have an .Net application running in LIVE. It was running Well in all Browsers(Chrome,Firefox,Safari), It also works good in Internet Explorer from version 6 to 10
Recently IE has Released 11th Version. when we open our APP in IE11 we have some major problems,
    1) our application gets rendering problem
    2) also the app is loading very slow.
All the above two issues are not completely happening in IE11,we have different Versions in IE11 (11.0.9600.17107, 11.0.9600.16521, 11.0.9600.16521IS, 11.0.9600.16659)
. out of these our app is completely working fine in "11.0.9600.16659". and the remaining
all other versions are getting different rendering errors.
We try to solve it by performing various additions to our app but no Use, we Placed MetaTag "<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=EmulateIE10">" and also we added APP_Browsers/ie.browser file which is downloaded
from NUGET Packages that which supports .net Framework 4. even though we are unable to find the issue what is going on here. even we also modified our code but no use. Can you Please Provide Help on This.

    Hi,

  • Rendering problem in output of Pages 5.1

Has anyone else seen a print rendering problem when trying to print a table in Pages 5.1?
All my text in tables is jagged and lower-resolution than other text:
(Printed from Pages 5.1 (1769) on a HP Color LaserJet CP2025 from a retina MacBook Pro original model running Mavericks 10.9.1.)
To see the problem, you must look at the full size image. Right-click to open it in a new tab.
The type is set to Helvetica 12 pt black.
The borders are set to 0.5 pt black. The top two lines have a border on all sides.
The top line's border is nearly invisible; on the full size image you should see a faint blueish line.
The middle line's box box is supposed to be&#8232; a full box, but it is missing two sides. But at least this hairline renders properly.
The pdf of the same file looks fine on screen, even at high magnification. The problem only shows up in print.
The same problem exists in Numbers (where I first experienced it):
    https://discussions.apple.com/message/24695801#24695801

I see you followed Jerry's advice to post over here, and haven't got any responces, so I'll at least try to get a little more information into the discussion.
Since the document prints to pdf correctly, but not to the actual printer, it seems likely that it is a print driver issue. In the Numbers discussion on the issue, the original person with the issue was using a HP printer with a postscript driver. Since the HP support site was not very clear about whether a driver for that printer on Mavericks even existed, and the recommendation for a generic driver was for a PCL driver, not postscript, I suspect that they were not using a recommended configuration. It would probably be helpful to know the details about your printer and print driver.
Do you have access to more than one printer to test this on?
The new versions of Numbers and Pages are doing something strange in terms of how they copy tables to the system clipboard; the pdf version is no longer available, only bitmap images. Print to pdf, however seems to still get the pdf data. I don't think this should have anything to do with the data getting to the print driver, but it does seem consistent with your results.

  • Follow up to recent posts regarding rendering problems

I've read all posts to Berrett below but can't seem to get my "Flip Video" camcorder (uses MPEG-4AVI) video into FCE without the rendering problem. I've tried to convert in two ways. Using MPEG Streamclip I transferred my video to my desktop using the "export to DV" command. It appears on desktop with a .DV suffix I then imported into browser. After editing in the viewer and trying to insert edit in canvas I get the message " "..clip does not match sequence settings..." I then click yes to change sequence settings and the clip moves to timeline. The video plays but the audio has to be rendered.
Next, I tried converting using the export to quicktime command in Streamclip with sound uncompressed and setting to DV-NTSC. When I insert into FCE and insert edit I get the sound but the picture has to be rendered. What am I doing wrong?
I've been working on this all day and am getting very depressed. Please help. Thanks.

Thanks but I think I tried that without success. I must have a setting somewhere wrong. My audio is fine but I still have to render my video. Using Streamclip to convert to quicktime here are the setting I used in the Movie Exporter dialog box.
    Compression: Apple Motion JPEG A
    Sound: uncompressed
    frame size 720x480 (DV-NTSC)
In FCE my easy setup is
    Format: NTSC
    Use: DV-NTSC

  • Since numbers 3.1 rendering problem in output

Since I upgraded to Numbers 3.1 all printed output is no more crispy, it looks like a rendering problem. My Number documents consist of normal text elements and tables, sometimes some charts. Scaling on printout is not activated. On the Mac display the problem does not exist, everything seems to be fine, also in large zoom factors. But printing the document produces some kind of unrendered, pixely output, comparable to a screenshot, by far not that crisp as in Numbers 3.0.1. Other applications such as Pages, Word, Excel are not affected, printouts are fine.
    What I did so far:
    - uninstall and reinstall numbers
    - changing, reinstalling the printer driver (HP Color LaserJet 2025 Series), I use the Postscript driver
    - converting the Number documents to Numbers '09 and opening them again
    - playing and testing with numerous zoom factors
    - changing fonts in the Numbers document
    ... all without any success.
    What helped me was:
    - Installing Numbers 3.0.1 again using TimeMachine, installed it parallel to Numbers 3.1
    - In Numbers 3.1 exporting the Numbers document to Numbers '09
    - Opening that document in Numbers 3.0.1
    - Printing the document in Numbers 3.0.1 --> Output ist fine and perfect.
It seems to be a rendering problem, only in Numbers 3.0.1. The problem appears in all existing and new Numbers documents on Numbers 3.1.
    Here is my infrastructure:
MacBook Air Mid 2013, OS X Mavericks 10.9.1
    Numbers 3.1 (1769)
HP Color LaserJet CP2025dn using PostScript
    Many thanks for your help!
    speckch

Perhaps you can see the problem in this version. This is a PRINTING problem. You cannot see it on screen in the pdf.
This is a single Numbers document, printed directly from Numbers (3.1). The font is identical in both lines. The box color is identical (black) and the width of the line is identical (0.5 pt). It was printed on an HP Color LaserJet CP2025.
The upper text is jagged. It may look fine on your screen, but it's not.
This is very obvious if you look at the larger image that is linked to the image above. (Remember, a computer screen is only 72 dpi and this image is optimized for that. Printed text is much higher resolution. So, to get an accurate view on your screen of how jagged the text is when printed, you need to look at it magnified. Right-click on the image above to open the image in a new tab, and you should get the full size.)
Also, the because the upper image is lower resolution (jaggies), the narrow line cannot print accurately. Thus, it appears blueish. When you look at the full-size image, you can see how jagged the line is and the mix of dots (red and blue, predominantly) that was output by the printer. In contrast, the lower text box is smooth and black.
I don't know where the problem lies, but I have not experienced anything like this on any other program I currently use. It's a postscript printer, and I suspect that something's gone wrong in the postscript output associated with tables and the printer is printing the screen view, not the higher resolution printer data. But that's just a guess. And as far as I know, it's not something anyone other than Apple can fix.
And, of course, since you can't see this problem on screen in the pdf, no matter how much you "zoom" in, you won't know if your files will print badly until you test it. Or, worse, your client does.
    Bummer.

  • Severe Rendering problems

I work on a g5 at my school, primarily editing a school television show that I work on. I am working on a slideshow/video for a band/orchestra banquet on Final Cut Pro 5, and the computer has decided to not let me render anything anymore. I don't think freeing up more space will do much good, because I have already done that and it has not seemed to help much. Final Cut will not let me render any quicktime movies or just general clips, but I know the problem is not space because Final Cut is also not rendering the certain video transitions, such as ripple, that need rendering. Help! Any ideas? The sooner, the better, because this band/orchestra thing is coming up fast and I'd rather not have to spend a huge amount of time trying to transfer all of my footage and pictures to another computer. Thanks!

  • Major system problems, hanging up at startup.

I'm developing some major sytem problems with my G4 Mac. It all seemed to start with a jumping cursor and then a dying mouse. I could not get the Mac to startup with several trys. It wouldn't even start up off of my external drive. I would get the first four icons in the upper right hand corner of the screen and the it would hang. I tried all of the usual fixes- permissions, disk utiliy, Disk Warrior, zapping pram. I finally started unplugging external items and getting back to original Mac- switching the firewire port in the back of my Lacie external drive helped for awhile, but now I'm getting the jumping cursor again and fearing I'll get a hangup again. Any ideas on how I can solve this problem? If not, can you point me somewhere for instructions on how to reinstall the system software? I have already installed a clean system on my external drive. Once I reinstall all of my apps there, and get it running properly, can I move all of that to my internal HD somehow? My original system disks for this computer is Jaguar 10.2 if that helps.
    Thanks for your help,
    Dick Skover

    Dick,
    Some observations and notes.
Have you tried using a different mouse, or changing
the port it is plugged into?
Yes, I tried and am using a inexpensive Logitech optical mouse. The one that came with the computer seemed to get very eratic and then not work at all. I did try plugging into different ports and that didn't make a difference.
How did you upgrade from Jaguar 10.2.x to
    Panther 10.3.9?
I upgraded the simplest way, I guess. I had read about more complex ways to do it at the time Panther came out, but also heard you could do a simple upgrade. I don't remember the exact steps I used. Boy, this is way more complex than my original Mac in 1984.
What size is your Hard Drive, and how much space is
available? I should say I have quite a few applications.
My HD is 75 Gig with 17 Gig available.
Is your installed RAM original or added?
Yes, it came installed when I purchased it: 1.5 Gig
In one post you wrote "My original system disks
for this computer is Jaguar 10.2..."
I heard something back when Panther came out that the fact I started with 10.2, didn't allow me to do certain things like archive and backup.
But in another, you wrote "Yes, my original
Panther disk and then updated everything via
    Internet."
    Please clarify.
When I decided to install a clean system on my external HD I just used my Panther 10.3 disk- I didn't go all the way back to 10.2
"Yes, Disk Warrior found some problems, I don't
    know exactly what they were."
Were the errors corrected? Have you rerun Disk
Warrior, to see if they are indeed repaired?
Actually I ran DW today again on the internal HD and it came up with a couple of problems that it said it repaired. Should I keep running it until it doesn't indicate any problems?
A couple other things you can check.
Open System Preferences > Accounts > Your Account >
    Startup Items.
Is there any item in there that you are not familiar
with, or did not put there yourself?
Yes I did try that- I had a repair person come in to help me. He did point that out and we deleted items that didn't need to be there. What he suggested did help for a week, but the problem came back. I called him again, but he said the only thing left to do was re-install.
From the Utilities folder, start Activity
    Monitor.
    Select Active Processes.
Watch for whatever process is hogging %CPU.
Yes he ran activity monitor also- there didn't seem to be programs hogging the processor although we deleted those that look familiar.
I also have a question about the title screems that pop up on start up. In the past I used to have several things being checked as it went through the process, now I get welcome to Macintosh and that's it. I seem to remember indications that Macaroni was running, but no longer see any of that. I do have Macjanitor also and thought that one of those automatically runs at startup?
I will run pseudo daily, weekly and monthly tasks now. Is this something that Macjanitor does, or should I run the maintenance scripts periodicaly?

  • Rendering problems in AE CC.

    Hello,
    Problem description:
I'm having rendering problems in AE CC. During the render process of the video material, which occurs in random parts of the file, the computer just keep restarting itself. There is no blue screen or any error log in windows event viewer. I’ve tried rendering my project multiple times with different settings (changing multiprocess settings, RAM allocation or moving temp/source files to another disk) but I’m still coming up with this problem.
I have installed and run any kind of benchmark software and put PC under heavy stress-test for couple of hours to make sure there isn’t any hardware- or temperature-related problem. I also have a second Dell Precision T3610 workstation with the same specs, and exactly the same problem occurs. Another thing is, that on different computer with some random specs, I’ve tried to render the same project and there is no problem at all – so my project seems to be fine.

So, any comp with that footage crashes AE, but comps without are fine?
Try transcoding that footage with the Adobe Media Encoder into a production codec (for example, QuickTime with the Photo-JPEG codec or, for truly lossless, QuickTime with the PNG codec).
See if that project will work. That'll help us figure out if it's reading the CR2 files that is causing the problem or the EXR writing that's the issue.
If it turns out the CR2 files are causing the issue (because AE works with the intermediate files or the Adobe Media Encoder won't even work with them), file a bug report and let Adobe know that you're willing to include a sample video file so they can test with it.
