MAJORLY DISABLED IPOD!! PLEASE HELP!

My iPod touch 5th generation is locked out after many failed passcode attempts. it says "connect to iTunes". So I connected it to iTunes, but it's not doing anything. I have tried everything! I can't back up my iPod because a) it's not connected to the internet b) it says I hav to unlock my iPod to do that?! c) I haven't been able to back up my iPod to icloud for months and I don't know why! I can't restore the iPod because it says to do that I have to back it up!! and I do not want to lose all (or any) data!! I have lots of music, games, and important apps! I have very special pictures there on there, and I do NOT want them to be lost. take away all the other important apps I have, but I have got to have my pictures! please help me find a way to get them back! I have taken so many more pictures since the last time I was able to back up my iPod.Plus, my iPod is only a few month old. So here's my problem in short, i can't restore, and I back up, I want my pictures, and would love to have my apps, I can live without the music, but I need to get back on my iPod.

Place the iOS device in Recovery Mode and then connect to your computer and restore via iTunes. The iPod will be erased. That is how it works. It is a security feature
iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
If recovery mode does not work try DFU mode.

If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.

  • Disabled ipod please help

My ipod touch has been disabled because of forgotten passcode.  I have connected to the computer and tried to restore but after 15 minutes or so it comes back up on the ippod that it is disabled.  What can I do to restore this ipod?

If you have a backup, you might try to restore it to that. If that doesn't work, you might click restore on iTunes. This will erase all data and restore it to factory setting. Also, see the question I asked: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4536483      This may give you more info. I hope this can solve your problem!

I have the same problem with mine... but im trying to find a way to fix it without restoring it...
but one fix is to shut it down completely ... then press and hold BOTH the power button and the home button .. hold both of those 4 ten seconds .. then release the power button but still hold down the home button .. and then it'll show something that says "connect to itunes" once u get it connected to itunes , click the restore button ... BEWARE THIS WILL WIPE OUT EVERYTHING ON YOUR IPOD!!! IT WILL RESTORE IT BACK TO FACTORY SETTINGS , AS IF U JUST BOUGHT IT !!!!! then it should work fine again .. but u will lose all data on there besides the things you have synced with itunes already..
Thats y im iffy with doing this , im trying to find a fix where i wont have 2 restore it but i dont think there is 1 :'(
    good luck tho

Delete what? The ID's? They cannot be deleted - you just quit using it.
If you still have one old ID - that you have purchased content with - you are saying that the password no longer works with that ID? Did you try to reset the password for that ID?
Read this - instructions if the ID was disabled for entering the wrong password.

  • You have 2 ipods, please help

you have 2 ipods, please help
Hi, I have just bought another ipod, I have now a 60GB video ipod and a new 8GB ipod. Does it pose any problem when synchronising ? Can they have different names ? Thks

You can name your iPod whatever you like. If you are connecting a second iPod for your own use, just connect it to your computer and it will update from your existing library. Depending on the size of your library and the type of iPod you choose you can have it update the whole library, selected playlists or you can manage it manually.
When using a small capacity iPod like the Nano with a large library, you can choose the update option "automatically update selected playlists only" (called Sync Music - All songs and Playlists in iTunes 7). This would allow you to create a playlist specifically for your Nano and drag the tracks you want into it. If you tire of the list and want to change it, you just add or remove the songs you don't want. The ones you take out out remain in the library to be used by the other iPod. Make your playlist a Smart playlist and limit the size to just below the advertised capacity of your iPod Nano (around 3700MB for a 4GB or 1800MB for a 2GB). You can read more about playlists at these links:

  • My ipod touch is disabled. Please help me with my questions. It is my first apple device.

My ipod is disabled. When i turn it on it says to connect to itunes. I can get to where the screen displays a cord and an itunes logo, but itunes does not pop up, nor display my devices. This is probably because I have not synced my ipod with this computer, nor with any computer. How do I sync my ipod with itunes when it is disabled? How do I get itunes to pop up when my ipod is connected to the computer? Please dont give me a link, i really would like a step by step guide. I have itunes downloaded on this computer, but it does not pop up or display my devices. Do I need to create an itunes account? I have so many questions because this is my first apple device. If you were wondering, my ipod touch is disabled because I forgot my passcode. PLEASE help, I dont care if I have to reset my ipod, I just want to be able to use it!

    Use Device Firmware Mode...
    1.     Turn off your ipod To do this, hold the home and sleep buttons for 10 seconds, ignore slide to power off message.
    2.     Release the power button when you see the apple logo (keep holding the home button)
    3.     Keep holding until you see a message.
    Now restore from a backup!
    Alternatively you can wait!

  • Major Nano Problem - Please Help

I have a 1 GB iPod Nano that worked fine when I got it in May 2006. Now, however I have a major problem. I put my iPod on the computer to charge through USB and when it was finished I could not safely remove. Actually, the iPod was not recognized by my computer or iTunes at all and the screen keeps flashing the apple logo and will not turn off until the battery runs down.
Here is what I did to try and fix. Reset and restore. I also tried to put the iPod in disc mode. When I put in disc mode my computer recognizes the iPod and it is shown in iTunes but when I safely remove, the iPod remains in disc mode and I can't get out of disc mode unless I reset and then I am dealing with the flashing appe logo again.
    Could someone please help!
      Windows XP

I'm thinking that the nano is the cause of the problem and so i "think" tou showld send it back for the cost of it and buy a new 2 gig one.

  • Updated iTunes and now can't remove songs from my iPod - please help

I've updated iTunes to version 11.0.0.163 and have an iPod Nano 16gb 5th generation.
In iTunes, I'm no longer able to manually select songs to remove them from my iPod - I can't even see the list of music that's on my iPod. The only option it gives me is to sync, and I don't want to do that. Before I upgraded iTunes, it was easy to move music between my iPod and iTunes, now I can't - what's happened?
My iPod is full so I want to remove some music, not all of it. Any advice? Please help - I'm going round in circles!
    Thanks

Ctrl + B for show Top Menu
    View > Show Sidebar
itunes will now look more like itunes 10.
You can click on your device in the lefthand window as before
You may prefer to use the Music Sync page to select or deselect Playlists, Artists, Albums etc and click apply.
Delete your files is enabled by ticking the Manualy manage music option on the Device Summary page. You may have to scroll down to find it

  • Cant see songs on my ipod. please help.

Hello to all reading this, and thank you for lending me your time. first: please note that i did do all that i can (restoring, updating, formating, reseting, checking the discussions for s solution, asking friends, and so on) before handing my problem to the forum & my ipod is up-to-date with the latest version 1.4.1. Now, let me get straight to the point:
    1) A couple of weeks ago i updated my iTunes to the latest version (i think it was version 7 or 7.1, not completely sure). Everything was working fine, everything was going great but after a couple of days something that i have never seen before appeared, the most horrible message i have ever received from a software before popped infront of my eyes as my iTunes opened, "...your ipod appears to be corrupt...". At first i didnt take it seriously because i thought a little restoring and reconnecting will solve the problem but i was sooo wrong. I did all that i could have done, reconnect, restore, update, format, "chk" the "dsk" if you know what im saying. succesfully that problem was over when i succesfully fixed it after a series of different tries, everyday!
    2) By fixing the first problem i thought, "oh, now all i gotta do is just sync all my songs again and start doing what i do best, listen to my music, full time!". Again, i was wrong. So i left my ipod to sync all my songs then came back to it after a while with a joyful "ipod update complete" message infront of my face. And as i checked on my ipod on the sources list it was true, all my songs were on my ipod, then i also checked in the ipod itself via "My Computer" and found a series of some coded and some recognizable songs on it. When i disconnected my ipod though, the apple logo appeared and keeps on appearing as if i have reseted it and when i browse the ipod, i donnot see anything, it appears completely song free when iTunes says i am currently using 2.90 GB of my 3.77 GB with a list of all the songs on my ipod available and 45 MB of other, also windows says that 2.93 GB is used from my ipod. When i check the information on the "About" located in my ipod, it tells me that i have 0 songs, 87.3 MB capacity and 169 MB available.
    * please help me if you can, i will be very thankful because this problem has been driving me craaazy! i actually sit on the computer and try to fix it for a long time. oh, and my warranty = finished!
    .Tru.B.Baller.

The songs being "greyed out" indicate that your Nano is set to autosync with iTunes. If you wish to remain on autosync, then you will have to delete from iTunes first, then re-sync your Nano. If you wish to maintain the files in iTunes, then you will have to change your iPod preferences to manually manage.

  • Full iTunes, empty iPod [Please help!!]

I used to have a windows XP but recently got Windows Vista.
All my songs were on the XP so I transferred them to Vista, downloaded iTunes and I now have all my songs in the iTunes library on Vista.
When I connected my ipod, it said updating so I left it for about 2 hours. When I came back and unplugged my iPod all my songs had gone! Now, whenever I plug my iPod in it says, 'Attempting to copy to the disc 'Ipod' failed. The disk could not be read from or written to.'
If you know anything about how to sort this out please
    please help!!!
    Thanks

  • :s confused with my iPod, PLEASE HELP!?!

Okay, well this is how it goes; My brother is good with electronics, and fixed this iPod for his friend. His friend didn't want the iPod mini anymore, so my brother gave it to me. The problem is the battery needs to be charged to turn on, but it's showing up the low battery sign, but it's not showing that it's charging. I have no idea if it's charging or not, yet it's plugged into my computer, so I'm kind of confused and mad, and it's not showing up on my computer or iTunes.I can't take it back because I don't even know when he got it. Please help me out here!
    Thanks,
    Ujenna.

First of all, try another port on your computer. Some ports are not connected direct to the motherboard and do not recognize the iPod as well as those that are. Reset the iPod each time you connect it to another port.
Then try with the iPod in forced disk mode.
    Putting iPod into disk mode.
    Still no joy, see these.
iTunes 7 doesn't recognize the iPod.
Your Windows PC doesn't recognize iPod.

  • Ipad disable question please help

I am having an annoying problem. I am from Vietnam but currently staying in Australia.  My girlfriend bought an iPad 4 in Vietnam from a mobile phone retail store (not sure if it is official retail or not) and she had never used any smartphone or even a computer before. People at the store helped her set up and even gave her an account to download free apps from iTunes. And now her iPad is disable because her brother attempted wrong pass code too many times. Now the only thing appear on the screen of the Ipad is disable and please connect to iTunes. She brought the device back to where she bought it and the guy there plug it in their computer and tell her the only way to fix this is to restore everything but she need to type in the icloud password otherwise the iPad could never be used again. She does not have any memory about the account that she used when she unbox the device. But she is sure that the device come to her with full seal. I was not there therefore i don't know anything other than the things above. I remember that i read some stuff earlier on the internet saying that once ur device is disable. You can actually plug it in the itunes and key in the passcode and unlock it. Is it possible to do so ? Please help. Pardon for my writing as it is realy suck.

No, once it's disabled, it needs to be restored.
As for the unknown iCloud password, your girlfriend needs to call Apple, prove she's the original owner, and they be able to remove the account. It will still need to be restored in iTunes, but this way it won't require the iCloud password after it's restored.

  • HP iPod versus Apple iPod (please help my HP iPod is in ipod heaven :( )

I have a 20G HP+iPod that i bought from cosco that i use with my apple computer. Everything has been working fine until one day when i turned it on and a "sad ipod" flashed up on the screen. When i turned it back on it worked as normal so i thought nothing of it. A little later while listening the ipod froze up so i resetted it. After reseting it a folder with an exclamation mark came up. A little later though it started working again and it worked for a couple of days. I was listening to my ipod in the car for a long time until the batteries ran out and when i plugged it back in the folder with the exclamation mark came up. So i went the apple.com/support and it said i have to restore it. Now this HP iPod would not restore. everytime i restored it it would say an error has occured. Finally i get the thing to restore and i plug it in to put in all my songs again. Unfortunatly my iPod freezes in the middle of uploading the songs so i gave up. Today i tried restoring it again. And updating it again. it froze again. I give up now so i am returning my iPod to cosco tommorow...
Now here is my question. Is an HP iPod different than an Apple one. Because after returning my HP iPod to cosco i am thinking about going to buy a new Apple iPod but i am afraid that it might not be any different than the HP one. (and yes i am defienatly planning on buying the insurance for it). Please help! (good thing about cosco u get a full refund for anything)

The HP has the same hardware as the apple one. The warranties and service offered by each company is where the differences lie.
Since your iPod broke so early with those icons, it was probably a lemon and the HD was having issues.
Since you have a mac though, get an apple iPod because HP doesn't support any connection issues between an HP iPod and a mac.
