MAKE A DISTRIBUTION LIST FROM MY CONTACTS

HOW DO I MAKE A DISTRIBUTION LIST FROM MY CONTACTS?

Do you want to have a group email distribution list? If so, then create a New Group and give it a useful name. Select and drag into the group all those contacts you want. When you wish to send out a group email simply set the To: field to the group name you assigned to that group.

No Mac can run any version of iOS, that is for iDevices only.
Macs run OS X. What version of that do you have?

  • When sending an email I used to be able to add a distribution list from my contacts, I now have to add each email address individually, does anyone know how I can add the whole list?

When sending an email I used to be able to click on a distribution list in my contacts and it would add all the email addresses, I now have to add each email address individually and this takes a lot of time.  Could someone tell me how I can add a distibution list/group to my emails?

    Barney,
    I have four groups.
I just typed the name of one of those groups in the To field on the iPhone's email, and received:
    Invalid Address
"<group name>" does not appear to be a valid email address.  Do you want to send it anyway?
I clicked continue and it remains in my outbox.
    Help is appreciated.
    Thanks,

  • Is there a way to create a email distribution list from my contacts?

I am converting from PC to apple.  I have many contacts and want to learn how to create distribution lists.  If anyone knows, please help.

That feature does not exist currently in the Comtacts app on the iPad. There are third party apps that let you do it - Group Email with Attachements (?) is one such app - I think!
I read where one user actually created a distribution list in the notes app bytry ping the email addresses and leaving a space in between each address and then copied the list from the Notes app and pasted it into the To: field in an email as a workaround. I tried it and it will work - you have to play around with it a little. I can't remember if you leave a space in between the email addresses or separate them with a comma, but I did get it to work.
Of course now I have this bizarre looking distribution list that pops up when I'm typing an email that I will never use and can't get rid of, but curiosity got the best of me on that one.

  • Is there an easy way of creating a distribution list from an email with multiple addresses? Those addresses are not in your contacts already, and don't need to be.

I want to be able to take all the email addresses someone else has used to distribute an email and create the same distribution list for myself for future use.  I don't want to add all those people to anywhere in my contacts list.  I just want them to be in my "new distribution list", like "soccer families", etc.  I tried to copy and paste, but didn't get anywhere. Maybe I was close, or maybe it isn't possible.  Thoughts?

I don't want them in contacts because they are simply a related group (like my sons current soccer team).  People I may never need to email again after a sports season.  I don't want to have to have these people in my contacts permanently.
You don't. When the season is over, delete them.
But, the text clipping should work.
The next IOS should have a feature "create mailing list from distribution list".  A fast and simple way to retain a distribution list from an email you received.  People get copied all the time using distribution lists they may want to reuse easily, like school, sports or work groups.  Oh well.
How is that any different from adding them to Contacts? Here's the feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback/
There is a set of Mail Scripts that has a function to Add Addresses from an email to any group. But, it doesn't work with Mountain Lion.

  • How do I create a Group email list from my contacts??

I can't figure out how to create a Group email list from my contacts on my iPhone??

I thought that was how I did it before ( a year ago ) but the group is created in my Email software but the group won't synch to my phone?! However it will synch randomly - i.e. singular new emails synch from my phone to my computer, but I am not noticing the computer transferring data to my phone...same with calendar...hmmm, maybe that's the problem - issue synching anything entered into my computer first...anyone hear of this? It seems that this started about a month ago, I had to restore my phone and it would not restore with the most recent backup, so I had to go back a couple of back ups... since it has been glitchy! HELP!

  • Move a distribution list from the forest root to a sub domain.

    Hello,
I am looking for the best way to migrate a distribution list I have in the AD forest root to a subdomain.  Is there a way to do this without rebuilding it from scratch?  We have Windows 2012 R2 domain controllers with a Windows 2008 R2 functional
    level.
    Thanks!

    Hi Shawn,
We can try using intraforest migration with ADMT. With the lateste updated ADMT v3.2, it supports Windows Server 2012 and 2012 R2, and we can download it from Microsoft Connect.

  • How to make a distribution list that includes all email addresses for each contact?

Is it possible to create a distribution list that allows you to select all possible email addresses for each contact within a group? I am running into the problem that I can only select one email address for each contact, but need multiple. How can this email list be generated using the Contacts app and Mail?

You can't with the way it currently works.
I've never tried, but you might try multiple groups, each with a different email selected.
I think I created an Applescript that would grab every address of every selected person and address an email. It is probably buried in the bowels of these forums.

  • Distribution List from outlook won't synch to 3GS I phone

I've created a distribution list in my Outlook contacts so I can email a group of people from my iphone but it won't synch over to the phone contacts. Any suggestions

If you didn't get all the apps from 3GS, chances are it's because you haven't transfered purchases recently from the 3GS. Connect the 3GS to your computer and in iTunes go to File >Transfer Purchases to get any apps and music on the iphone into your itunes library.
It's hard to tell from your post whether your computer is syncing at all witht he 4S. If it is, you should get all the apps next time you sync. If it's not, the first thing to check is your version of iTunes. Make sure you are using 10.5 or later or it won't be compatible with the 4S.
As far as wiping your 3GS, just go to Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content And Settings. This will set it up like a new iphone.

  • Distribution list from IPAD's email app?

How can I do a distribution list using IPAD2's email app?

Hi, there are a few group emailing apps which let you send email from their own app, but MailShot Pro is the ONLY one which works from Mail, as you asked.
MailShot Pro works by creating special contacts for each of your groups, so you can use them all over your device just like they were regular contacts, from Photos, Maps, and even from Mail.
Because it works inside Mail, you can also use it to forward email to groups, with all attachments intact. it's the first app on the store to let you do this. It is also the first app on the store to work with Siri on iPhone4S for sending email to groups using your voice alone.
