Make a new region template

Hi all,
I am using Two Level Tabs Page Template in my application, and have used all the region templates (from 01 to 08) in my page. I still need a space for 1 more region template. Can i make a new region template of my own??If so how can it be done?

Region #'s 1 thru 8 are not really the equivalent of region templates. Those are placeholders for different display areas on the various pages.
Each one displays in a specific area of the page depending on the theme and page template that you're using. These region numbers are used for things like sidebars, tabs, main report or form regions, etc...
You are also able to include many report or form regions (or other regions) in a single display region.
In my 5 or so years of using Apex I have never had the need to try to create a new display region. And I don't think there's a way you can actually do it.
Why don't you let us know what you want to accomplish and you're sure to get some suggestions.

So, create your template from scratch or edit an existing Mail template and re-save it with a new name.
Your own saved or edited/re-saved templates are stored in the Custom list at the bottom of the Stationery types.
The default templates remain with original names in the original folders.
Then to use your template in a New Message, select it from Show Stationery, Custom.
To make it easier to select Stationery templates, first open Mail, New Message, View, Customize Toolbar, and then drag the Show Stationery button to the New Message toolbar. (It will not ever appear in the default Mail toolbar, only the New Message toolbar, and can only be added to the New Message toolbar.)

Hide / Show region template - how to make it stay visible after NEXT& PREV?

I am using the Hide / Show region template (by the way great idea to create this template ;)
By default the region is hidden. If i want to see the region content (it is a report) I click on that icon and it becomes visible. For my report I use the pagination "ROW Ranges X to Y of Z (with pagination)".
The issue is that if I click NEXT of Previous, the region is closing (hidding).. and in order to see the next / previous page of my report I have to re-open it..
Is there any known workaround for this?

I would start at Re: Toggle all hide show regions on a page open/closed
It references the using javascript to manipulate your hide/show regions. It should get you started in the right direction. It is about the most straight-forward example I have seen for what you are trying to do 
You could trigger the javascript after your page is rendered by calling it from the page footer and reference the values of page items to determine if you are supposed to hide the region(s). 
Create a page item called P88_HIDESHOW_REGION1 and set it's value to Y or N depending on whether the #REQUEST# has a string in it that is part of report pagination. If you hover over a "next page" button in a report, check out the resulting URL that pops up in your browser.....it looks like ..../f?p=900:210:8352027355600111016:pg_R_241403738845262873:NO&pg_min_row=31&pg_max_rows=30&pg_rows_fetched=30
 
You could do an instr(:REQUEST,'pg_R_') > 0 then set P88_HIDESHOW_REGION1 = 'Y' else P88_HIDESHOW_REGION1 = 'N'. Your javascript called at the footer of the page could set the display of the region to on or off depending on the result of P88_HIDESHOW_REGION1

Marquee select then copy always makes new region?

Hello.
It seems that when I select a portion of a region using the Marquee tool, then copy (command+c), the highlighted portion of the region becomes a new region. I do not want this to happen.
Is there a key combination that allows one to select a portion of an audio region (like a note) and copy and paste the note somewhere else, without creating a new region in the original region?

I believe that you can use the Marquee tool, do a copy (CMD+C) and then hit UNDO. The regions you copied will remain in the copy buffer even though the UNDO "healed" all of the cuts in the regions. You can then move the SPL to a new location and do a paste (CMD+V). Try it -- it should work. If not, let me know, k?

How to make ADF PanelPage as Template

So when i drag PanelPage component, it already have my company logo as a header, application name as title. etc ..
How can i do that ?

Harry - just because you are new doesn't mean that you can keep posting the same message over and over. There are 4 entries for your question already - and as Frank replies in one of them there is no templating built in in 10.1.3 - you can use copy/paste of your component.
Some people use Regions to do templating - though this is not supported and won't migrate to 11 (you can search google for template and adf region - and you'll find the solution).

How to move sections of audio and make a new song

A guy recorded two and a half hours of our band during rehearsal with the intent of providing a showcase for the band. In all, there are 15 songs. Using markers I have divided up the material into songs. Now, what I want to do is to cut out the regions in a particular maker and move them onto a new song - one for each marker. That is, I will end up with 15 individual songs as opposed to one long, long, long (hard to navigate) piece of music.
I thought that all I would have to do is to choose the regions for each song (which I have), copy them and paste them into the new song template for each song. I did this for two songs, but after spending forever copying each of them I realized that although only the regions I have chosen are to be found in the song, the actual audio files are the complete two and a half hour file.
What am I missing here? I want to copy a section from each of the complete tracks and move it to the individual song without rest of the file.

Ok, so you did what I wouldve done and now I am stumped. I am a hands on type of engineer and very new to this whole wide world of computer recording after spending years in the 2 inch format. Sorry I could not be more of a help but whenever I have clipped audo files and then I export as an audio file, it always shows as what I exported, not as the original file. Interesting. So sorry

Print Quote the report is in PDF but need to be new RTF template

We have 11.5.10 apps, the Quote screen is an OAF screen.
When clicking Print Quote the report is in PDF, They want to include a new RTF template for printing instead of PDF.
The new RTF template is created. But what I do not know is how the quote screen will take the new template. I can use XMLP to upload the RTF template but that may not be sufficient to make it appear in the Quote screen.
I am looking at the profile ASO:Default Layout Template. Am I headed the right way?

Creation of new layout templates

Hello,
in the portal there are some layout templates available for pages. They are used for the innerpage of default frameworkpage ,too. I like to change the width of first column of the narrowWide 2 columns layout. Found in online Help that you have to use the developer studio or change the *.jsp file directly to get a customized layout (template). I don`t like to change the available jsp files. Best idea would be to have a new jsp file in place on which a new template is based. I found the narrowWide.jsp in the file system where you can change easily the width of colums. But how can I get a new jsp File? Is this only possible by using the developer studio or is there another way to do that?

I like to go closer to your solution.
Ok, my steps would be:
1. Searching the folder where the narrowWide.jsp and the related portalapp.xml is found (usr\sap\...).
2. Make a copy of the narrowWide.jsp, rename it to narrow35Wide65.jsp and save it in the same folder where the narrowWide were found.
3. Edit the new *.jsp file and change the width of narrow column to 35% and wide column to 65% (result should be increasing the narrow column width)
4. Rename the extension of current portalapp.xml in the same folder to portalapp.xml.bak and make a copy of the file in same folder giving the original file name.
5. Editing the portalapp.xml and paste a new component entry based to the narrowWide component entry. Here I have to change the component name and the jsp file name only like in this example, right?

I want to make a new site in dreamweaver and host it on business cstalyst

I want to make a NEW site in Dreamweaver CC and host it on the Business Catalyst platform.But it seems the only way to use dreamweaver in business Catalyst is to import a BC template into Dreamweaver then upload it to BC. I want to create an original site and use the BC platform, is that possible? This seems like it should be simple and automatic, even encouraged. But as of now the only way to create an original site is to use Adobe Muse. Which is weird, seems like Adobe missed this one somewhere...

I don't think you understand: I want to open Dreamweaver and build a brand new site, then when I am done I want to host the dreamweaver site on the Business Catalyst platform. I dont want to use anything in BC to build the site, I just want to use the hosting platform. I do not want to import a BC site into dreamweaver or anything like that. I just want to use BC the same way I would use godaddy, or uhost or any other hosting provider. Based on your response you said that "of course its possible to build a BC site in Dreamweaver" I dont want to build a BC site, I want to build a Dreamweaver site and host it on the BC platform. Like I said before it doesnt seem like this is possible. As of now we can only build a new site in MUSE and integrate it into BC without using a BC template. Can you understand what I am saying. I DONT WANT TO USE A BC TEMPLATE, I WANT NOTHING TO DO WITH BC WHILE I AM BUILDING THE SITE WITH DREAMWEAVER, JUST LIKE MUSE DOES.

Classic Report with Hide and Show Region Template does not show report

I created a "No Template" region on a page with a Classic Report. When I change it to a "Hide and Show" region template, the report does not show up when I click to Show the region...is there an additional step i'm missing to make the report show up. Its a very simple query.

Please provide details how to use the JQuery modal region template in theme 24.
I want to create a modal page but I am no expert in jquery or script.

InDesign CS5- where is create new from template?

Hi,
I was looking for creating something new from one of the default templates of CS5, like I've done in the past with CS3 and CS4. However I find that there doesn't seem to be an option to create new from template.
Am I completely missing where it is? Have they called it something else? Have they removed the default ones completely from InDesign?

I should perhaps amend that to don't waste time with a template for multiple labels on a sheet. If you see something that works for you as far as basic layout, make a one-up lable from it (cupy the elements from a single label into a new file sized for only one label). Get a sheet full of blank labels, place that file in the upper left position on your larger sheet layout, then use Edit >Step and Repeat... to make the grid. This is much more efficient as it allows you to edit the entire sheet at one time by editing the single label file.
If you need to d a data merge, you can do nearly the same thing -- put a single blank label layout in the upper left position, add your merge field placeholders in that one label, and run the merge. DO NOT put anything beyond the single label layout on the sheet for a Data Merge job. Also, note that there is a bug in CS5/5.5 that will give you an incorrect multiple records merge if you try to preview. If you preview you must use Undo before the merge to go back to the pre-preview state.

New Region does not appear in standard page (Please Your Help).

I tried to create in javadeveloper a region to have descriptive flexfields shown in standard page with the following structure :
Region (stacklayout)
Region (messageComponentLayout)
Item (messageLayout)
Item (flex)
Then I used import command to move XML file to the sever .
Afterthat in self service I created an item of stacklayout type with specifying the required fields like Application module and extend field but I am not able to
see the region in standard page , is there any anything missing please your help?

Please try this > Make the AM property of your new region to be blank . Also check if your custom controller of your region has correct logic.
Repeat the deployements steps and bounce the server.

Modify a report region template

I am new on Apex, so my question could seem elementary! :-(
I would like to create a mutiple report on one region, as explained and described on this forum in many places, but I am stuck at the begining!!
- How can I copy a report region template?

- How can I copy a page template?

Hi Fred,
In your application, go to Shared Components, Templates. Then click the Create button and select the template type. On the next prompt, ensure that you select the "As a Copy of an Existing Template" option, then click Next until you get to a list of current templates. Change the name of the template you want to copy and change the Copy? drop-down from No to Yes and click the Copy xxxx Templates button. You will then be returned to the templates list - click on your new template to edit it.
