Make a security profile available to device

Hello! Newbie question here.
I thought I'd try to get a few IP phones configured to encrypt their media streams. Seems I needed
to create a security profile that the phones could be configured with. That seemed to work. But then when I access the phones' device properties page I can not select the security profile. In fact, I only seem to be able to see one profile in the drop down list. So how would I make that newly created security profile available?

Urgent!! How to make Security Profile Based on Payrolls???

Dear Everyone,
I am facing this urgent case which is:
* My company have 2 payrolls, they need to make security based on payrolls, and the case is our HR team can access all employees data including elements except managers elements or managers data at all ( so they cant find them while querying on them from people enter and maintain window)
* I tried to make a separate payroll for managers (third payroll) and then making security profile includes all payrolls so they can access all payrolls element and data, then I make another security profile with the original 2 payrolls for other HR team so they can access employees assigned to these payrolls only, but I had to choose which is restricted ( employees or contingent workers or applicants or contacts), I tried to restrict employees in both security options, then I assigned the first security profile which includes the 3 payrolls to their responsibility in profile options, also did that with the second security profile and assigned to the profile option for the responsibility of HR team.
after choosing restrict employees in security profiles, in both responsibilities I cant find any employees( because I restricted them).
Please tell me how to make some of the top management cannot be find within search in people enter and maintain, only top management responsibilities can access all employees data and information.

to use custom you can write something like
ASSIGNMENT.grade_id in (select g.grade_id

this is showing all employees having grade less than or equal to 12; you can use any other criteria based on your needs.

How to make Custom Discoverer workbook use Custom Security profile of Apps

We use Discoverer in Oracle Apps setup. We have added Custom security in our HR People Form of Apps.
This Custom Security restricts one HR Emplpoyee not view other HR employee record except for himself/herself. Also maintining that they should be able to view all other employee's records.
The following code was put under the Security Profile Form -- > Custom Security Tab

However, It does not work for our Discoverer Workbooks. I found a note on Metalink 422841.1 which talks about leveraging the Custom Security of Apps in Discoverer Report. I read it, but did not get much clue.

Hi,
If you want to use custom HR security with Discoverer you have to ensure that the correct security filters are applied when the Discoverer reports are run. These filters can use the supplied HR_SECURITY package or you can develop your own conditions using table lookups or functions. To get the filters applied to your reports you have a number of options:
1. Build the security into custom folders using additional conditions
2. Use custom database views in Discoverer and build the security into the views
3. Use mandatory conditions in you Discoverer folders using either a function call or database contexts set at login time
4. Use VPD (Virtual Private Database)
I am not sure which of these options you are using to implement your HR security in Discoverer. The last option, VPD, is the most flexible and can give the best performance but maybe it is more complex to set up.

I use a security code for the device, now i have try 8 times the correct code acces, but the phone don't accept this code.
How can i unlock the phone?

If you remember the password write it down, make sure you are putting the characters correctly, at the last instance it will wipe all data from your device. You can wait for some time, do a battery pull and check if it starts from 2/10. Chances are you are making a small mistake. If you have all your data backed up you can proceed till eht security wipe. The device password is not recoverable if forgotten as a security measure.

Can somebody list out the steps to be done to create a Global security profiles. Is any document available. Please let me know.

Im trying to change the standard securtiy to security using Security Groups.We are having multiple BG's (3). This what I did:
1. Enable the profile Enable Security Groups at application level to YES
2. I ran the concurrent Enable Multiple Security Groups.
3. I was now able to open the Assign Security Profiles window.
I created a new user under sys admin with no resp attached. For this user I attached the HRMS Manager resp thrice with different BG & Securtiy profile combinations under Assign Security Profiles window. When I log in as the new user, I dont see all the three resp I defined. I can see only two resp with suffix standard and name of one BG appended to HRMS Manager. The resp with other BG's as suffix are not appearing.
Kindly advise.

OMA: Security Profiles

Hi,
I am trying to migrate the Custom Security Profiles from one system to another.
When I create the OMA package and import the same in another system, only the security profile name is getting exported and none of its content is getting exported i.e the controls I have ' SET' in the role are coming as ' NOT SET' in the new environment.
What is going wrong.

I guess ACL is not available in Single SRM Object because selecting a single ACL would not be very useful and also ACLs are associated with a Security Profile. You would have to use the Object List and write your own custom OML query or use the Dataset option which will export all. If Dataset option suits your needs, that would be the easiest.
Or another option would be to use the workbook approach. You could look at the security_rights tab on the enterprise workbook from Resource Guide as a reference.

Service Interface Security Profile & Idempotency

     => Does this mean the implementation should be handled by the application programmer?
- The Security Profile section shows that there are some values available for the security profile and the default value when we create a new SI is Low.
From the link above, it is stated that "Low - Basic Authentication using user ID and password and no transport security."
     => Does this mean I can configure the user ID and password to be used at the interface? If yes, where can I configure it?
- From the same link above, from what I get at the Idempotency section.
     => Does the Idempotency mechanism is handled by PI or should be handled by the provider application programmer? If it is automatically handled by PI, what is the transaction ID used for to check if the message has been sent before? If not, what is the advantage of ticking the Idempotency for the provider application programmer?
Any advise would be appreciated.

--->>> you do not need to configure the user id or password. this is for the consumer, when you expose your service interface as service and consumer needs to use the service with user id and password (for Low) and needs certificates for SSL connection.

Can I make iPad Security Copies on Time Capsule?

Sorry, I am not sure what a Security Copy might be, but if you are asking about backups, the iPad and other iOS devices back up to iTunes on your computer.
Then, if you have the computer setup to backup to the Time Capsule, the backups of the iPad are copied over from the computer.
So, the iPad backs up indirectly to the Time Capsule.
The iPad can also back up directly to iCloud if you prefer.

"iTunes couldn't connect to this iPad. Can't establish a secure connection to the device."

Hello anyone this might concern,
I'm having a problem with my week-old iPad 3 WiFi + 4G (although not 4G in Sweden, but anyway). When I yesterday (19th of June 2012) tried to hook my iPad to my mid 2011 iMac 27" wanting to synchronize it, I got a warning message that I've never seen before and not being known on the interwebs when searching for it.
Translated from Swedish it says: "iTunes couldn't connect to this iPad. Can't establish a secure connection with the device". No error code or anything. Just a window saying this and an OK button. Wierd I thought, tried to search for it and got hits that were similar but not in my opinion the same problem at all. Some people had problems a couple of years ago giving the similar error message, that had to do with the date and time not being the same on the iDevice as the computer hooking it up to. I checked my settings but everything checks out all right.
After a couple of tries of restarting both the iPad and the iMac, reinstalling iTunes etc etc I tried to connect my iPhone 4S. That went just fine, without a hitch. I was able to synchronize it, do whatever. So I took out my MBA 13" late 2010, connected the iPad to it and started iTunes - voilá it worked just fine! But still, the issue remains on the iMac today. I can't for the love of Steve understand what the problem is.
So, anyone out there sitting on an awesome fix?

OK!
So I myself had this issue and have solved the issue. Let me recap:
1: Purchased a 13" Mac Book Pro
2:Already owned an Ipad that was syned with the PC I was previously using
3: When I connected my Ipad to the brand new Mac and opened Itunes was told (paraphrase) "Itunes can not connect to your Ipad...can not find secure connection
4: Called a multitude of Apple customer service folks who were really nice but couldn't help
          1) I tried different ports
          2) various apple connectors were used (not technical word but you know the cord that you use to connect your iPad to your cable with the usb)
          3) and on and on.....and no the date and time thing mentioned on many forums didn't work
          4) was able to sync photos through iPhoto with no issues
So what solved it:
1) Back up your iPad to iCloud (make sure it fully completes)
2) Go to General~Reset~Erase All Content and Settings
3) When iPad restores it will eventually get to a promp "restore from iCloud" say yes
4) At this point you are home sweet home...connect to itunes and Walla!
I also discovered how to sync Google calendars (if you have multiple like me) and google contacts to address. Holler at me if you need those too...don't waste your entire day like me. Peace Out!!

SAP BOBI 4.0: Data Security Profile Issue

Consider the below scenario :
We have two environments(SAP BOBI 4.0): Dev and Prod
Schemas used are test and testABC in DEV and Prod respectively. And structure (table
names and column names) inside both the schemas is same.
We have created several data security profiles in Dev
environment. So now when we migrate via Promotion Management, the universe from Dev to Prod, “data
security profiles” also gets migrated.
So once migrated we change schema name from test to testABC
in data foundation layer which makes our dfx to point to testABC schema in
Prod.
Once above process is done when we go to data security
profiles, table names gets changed from test to testABC But inside WHERE
Clause, schema name is still test it doesn’t gets changed to testABC.
Now question is :
Is there any way so that schema name inside
WHERE Clause should get changed automatically from test to testABC?
Is there any way we can restrict Data Security
profiles to get migrated when we are migrating the universe?

What is your data source? Did you try to edit the security profile in where clause?

Sourcing Security profiles through table/query/report etc..

In order to quickly validate the security profiles, that we create or upload, Is there a way to get the export of profile(s)along with all the associated access rights.
Example: Under Documents Management: RFx Type has Create, View, Edit, Setup, Import types of permissions available. similarly across all.
If accessing through database is the only way, please help me with navigation to database and respective table, where I can find this info.

There is a OOB report called Security Profile Usage summary which can be accessed form Setup  System Administration, but it doesnu2019t look like the information you are looking for is on that report. Your best bet would be to develop a custom report to get this information.

Make webdynpro timesheet view available to everyone

I have saved a Webdynpro Record Working Time timesheet view (via Settings > View > Save As) and the Assignment is User. With this setting the view is only available to the individual and not available to all users. Is there a configuration setting or security setting that will allow for the view to be available to all users. The Save AS view dialog box does not allow me to change the Assignment property of User

Double click on HRESS_AC_CATS_1 then Select from menu Web Dynpro Configuration > Test > Execute in Administration Mode
I then go into the Settings button on the timesheet, when I save the View it is saved for all, save dialog box says Assignment: All. This allows the view to be viewed, selected by all users when they run the webdynpro timesheet.

BBM profile and or device switch

Hi there,
I need an advise on the following: I have two Blackberry devices a Torch 9800 and a blackberry Bold 9900. I then created two similiar blackberry ID and passwords on the two devices. When i had to re-login into the app world it asked (the bold) for the BB ID and password and i entered the same login details that on the Torch then it asked if i wanted to switch devices and i clicked OK. I know have my son's (who is now using the Torch) BBM profile on my BB Bold 9900 and if cant seem to have two separate profiles. Please help

You will need to perform a security wipe on each device (backup each first, using the BlackBerry Desktop Software) and then login to each device again using the correct BlackBerryID login.
You can have two separate profile... one for each device BUT not two mixed on one device.
