Make a storyboard?

I deal with projects using 50 - 150 photos to make a photo story for people's birthday's, anniversaries, etc.. I used to see a "storyboard" feature in a previous version of Premiere whereby I could drag and drop the photos into a storyboard order graphically, seeing each photo as a thumbnail. Really cool. Then that feature went away in newer versions of Premiere. I just switched to CS3 Premiere Pro on Windows. Wondering how you folks manage a project with over 100 pictures. How do you easily create an "ordered list" of the pictures and then import using the default transition automatically??? I've been dealing with having to order the photos myself by renumbering them, 1, 2, 3 etc. in Explorer then importing, then choosing the photo's from 1 - 150 in that order, then choosing to "Automate to Sequence" which is O.K. but a bummer that I have to rename all those pix in the first place.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Dave N

I gave up using Premiere for multiple stills. It just isn't suited for it. I used to use the project panel and sort things around there but for me, the thumbnails don't refresh fast enough and the images are never cached anywhere to speed this up.
I know you're looking to use PPro for this (and it still can be) but I'd really suggest saving some headaches.
I use Proshow Producer now:

It's kind of pricey but it's worth it if you do a lot of this stuff.

  • Storyboard for imovie 10

How do you create a storyboard in imovie 10?  If you try to google it, they all talk about storyboards for trailers, but I want to make a storyboard for a longer movie so can't use trailers.  It looks like they even removed animatics from the new version unless you use it in the trailer.
I want to make a story board because I have a 5 minute song that I want to add video to, but i didnt shoot the video yet so I want to put in placeholders to indicate change of scenes at various intervals int he song.

    jeff5656 wrote:

    They did.
As kind of a workaround you could create a Trailer then use File>Convert Trailer to Movie and then delete everything except the animatic place holders you want.
The place holders can also be copied and pasted into other Projects.

  • Costs making a 2D animation

I've been asked to make a professional 2D animated video.
The question is: how can I find out what I can charge?
This is an example my client has send: http://www.talmon.nl/#!portfolio-item/reggefiber/
It's not so hard to produce in After Effects. But I find it hard to estimate how long it would take to finalize it.
And what is the most common workflow in such a production? First a storyboard, second graphics and so on?
    I'm asked to make:
    1. a price in which they make a storyboard, where I make the artwork and final animated video.
    2. a price in which they make the storyboard plus artwork, and I just the 2D animation.
What is the way to solve this?

  • CS3: Making marks on sound file, select the area to repeat

    Hello,
I am using premiere to make a storyboard.
I have a sound file and want to add the drawings later.
So the sound file is the basis for my work
    I have two questions.
    Q1:
I want to make marks and notes on my sound file. How can I do it?
I use After Effects. It is simple to make mark and notes.
I select the file, then point where I want to mark, then press asterisk(*).
Is there something similar in premiere? I pressed asterisk but nothing happens.
    Q2:
How can I select a certain area, between point A to point B, and only repeating to hear the sound of that area.
I appreciate your advice.  Thank you!

    Thank you for your advice.
Now I learned how to mark numbers and comments.    Thank you!
However, I followed your advice but I still don't know the repeating sound.
At least, I want to start the sound from a certain point.
Usually, when I want to hear the sound, I press the "enter key" then it goes to the beginning of the sound.
If I know how to start the sound from the middle of the sound file, it will solve my problem.
Is there any way I can start the sound from the certain point of the file, (not from the beginning)?

  • How can i make changes from the user in TabBar with more button persistent?  I´m using the Storyboard.

I have build an App with more than 5 Tabs, the user can change the order of the items, but this is not persitent.
How can i fix this on iOS 7 and i´m using the Storyboard.

Can I do it afterwards ?
Yes. In addition to what Bee Jay said, here are some other tips.
First record a pattern that's a few bars long, and don't tweak any knobs while you're doing this. Set a Cycle Range, because we want to play this pattern over and over again. Press A to make Automation visible (although there isn't any yet).
Find the channel strip for this track, either in the Inspector or in the Mixer window. Just above the meter, look for the button that says "Off." Hold down this button and a menu will appear. Select "Touch." Press Play. As the pattern plays the first time, pick a knob in the ABL2 window, and mess with that knob. At the end of the pattern, let go of the knob, and then watch what the knob does as the pattern plays again. Then as the pattern plays some more, mess with another knob. You'll notice that curves are being drawn in the Arrange window as you mess with the knobs.
This should help get you started.

  • How to make fully interactive storyboard with videos, maps, audio????

    Hi there,
I am looking for a tutorial or a walk through to make an interactive Storyboard with interactive maps, videos, audio files, play/pause button.
And should be able to convert in multiple languages...
I know its kindof difficult but not impossible.

use google to search:  flash <your as version> storyboard tutorial.

  • Hey there. I am going to be working on storyboards and I need to make sure

Hey there. I'm getting Flash CS4 very soon. I am going to be working on a project in which I'll need ...let me describe the feature.
    1) Import a bitmap (which is a storyboard picture)
    2) Place bitmaps into timeline (storyboards are put into the timeline)
    3) I need flash to update the bitmaps on the fly when they change on my hard drive.
The storyboards will be in a format where there is only text at the bottom taken from the screenplay that tells what to draw. I need to piece them together, then as I get the storyboards from my employees I need to update them on my hard drive, and I need flash to update them within the movie project.
Windows Movie Maker does this. When you import a picture, it updates that picture from the hard drive, so if you make a change to it it is automatically updated within your movie project.
Does Flash CS4 have this feature? Also, technically, what would you call that feature?

If you import an image, and then at a later time import the same image again, you can have it replace the old one.  When you try to import it, Flash will recognize it is a duplicate item by its name and give you the choice to replace the duplicate content or not.
I don't know what the ultimtae goal of your Flash file will be (pardon my ignorance if you explained that earlier), but having a dynamic solution might be easier to manage.  You could just create the Flash file such that it reads an xml data file that has the images listed in the order they appear, and have your Flash file load those images and order them for display based on the order in the xml file.  That way you only have to update the xml file.
If your plans involve creating many storyboards over time, you could possibly make a generic Flash file that when you run it, it prompts you for the xml filename to be used, and then executes loading all the images for whatever review purpose they are serving.... just thinking out loud.

  • Is there a tutorial on how to make a long press menu appear on a table item with storyboard?

    Hi there!
I'm very new to app development and i've been playing around with designing a few. I wanted to know, how can you create a long press menu appear when pressing and holding on a table item. Id like it to pull up a menu with 3 options, each leading to its own view depending on what one is selected.
Is there a decent tutorial out there for a beginner? I'm using the newest xCode with storyboard and all the tutorials i found are for older xCode versions.

    Greg,
This topic is covered elegantly in an older book by Al Ward. The directions are too long to post here. The book is still available - at Amazon for $0.46 + postage!!

He wrote this for PEv.2, yet it requires only the basic tools which remain in the more recent versions of the program.

  • How to edit JVC/Panasonic/Canon .mod video in Windows Movie Maker then upload to YouTube for sharing

    Quick View:
Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
Part 3: How to upload your video to YouTube
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
Part 1: How to import .mod video to Windows Movie Maker
    Step 1: Load files
First copy the MOD file from your video camera to your hard drive, then download, install and run MOD Converter, click the "Add Files" button to browse your computer hard disc and load the MOD/TOD video files you want to convert to the program.
    Step 2: Output Setting
In the bottom of the main interface, select an output format supported by Windows Movie Maker for each video file and specify a directory on your computer to save the output files.
    Step 3: Start convert
Click "Start" button on right bottom of the main interface, you are allowed to start conversion.
Step 4: Import converted video to Windows Movie Maker
Click on "File". Then click on "Import". A window will appear. In the window, navigate to the video clip you converted just now. Then double click on the file. You'll see the icon for the file in your Windows Movie Maker "Collections".
Part 2: How to edit the video with Windows Movie Maker
Step 1: Add transitions and special effects
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click View video transitions.
Preview transitions by double-clicking them and watching the Preview Monitor. Once you've found a transition you like, drag it from the Video Transitions pane, under Edit Movie pane to the box between two of your clips. This inserts the transition between the two clips.
Step 2: Add titles and credits
If you want to add a title before, after, or on top of a clip, click the clip on the storyboard or timeline.
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Edit Movie, click Make titles or credits.
    Step 3: Add Music
In the Movie Tasks pane in Movie Maker, under Capture Video, click Import audio or music.
In the Import File dialog box, click the name of the song you want to use in the background. Then click Import. This adds your song to your collection but does not add it to your video. Drag the song from the collection to the video clip where you want the music to start playing.
    Step 4: Add narration
If you have a desktop computer, connect a microphone. Microphones are available from most electronics stores. If you have a portable computer, you can use the built-in microphone. However, you will get a better-quality recording if you connect an external microphone. In Movie Maker, click the Tools menu, and then click Narrate Timeline. On the timeline, click the clip you want to narrate. You can narrate clips one at a time, or you can narrate the entire movie all at once. If you narrate individual clips, you can rearrange them later and keep your narration synchronized. If the narration is too loud or too soft in comparison to the movie, right-click the narration on your timeline, and then click Volume.
Step 5: To save your movie to your computer
In the Movie Tasks pane, under Finish Movie, click Save to my computer.
The Save Movie Wizard appears. On the Save Movie File page, type a name for your movie. You can also choose a folder to save it in by clicking the Browse button, but My Videos (the default) is usually the best place to save your movie. Then click Next. On the Movie Setting page, click Next to accept the default setting of Best quality for playback on my computer.
Movie Maker saves your movie, which might take several minutes. On the Completing the Save Movie Wizard page, click Finish. If Play movie when I click Finish was selected (it is selected by default), the movie will automatically play in Windows Media Player. Now you can watch your videos anytime by opening your My Videos folder and double-clicking your movie.
Part 3: How to upload my video to YouTube
A video file should meet the following requirements so that it can be uploaded to YouTube site.
    1. In an acceptable format: WMV, MPEG4, MOV, AVI and MPEG.
    2. Video length is shorter 10 minutes.
    3. File size is smaller than 1GB.
Step 1: Sign up a YouTube account or Gmail account, then click the Upload button on any YouTube web page. See the figure below:
Step 2: Type in the information of your video file, including Title, Description, Category and tags. To increase the chances that your video can be easily found, you should put as much information as possible.
Step 3: Set this video to be public or private.
Step 4: Click the "Upload a video" button. When you see the next window, click the "Browse" button to select the video file you want to upload. Then click the "Upload Video" button to upload it. After the upload is finished, you will see the completion page. See the figure below:
Step 5: Click "My Videos" and you will see the video.
    Know More:
    1. Which Camcorders record video in .MOD type?
MOD is the video file type used on many digital camcorders, such as the JVC Everio, the Canon FS100 and the Panasonic D-Snap SD-card camcorders. Accompanying the MOD video file, there exists MOI file that stands for the index file for MOD.
    2. What file types are supported by Windows Movie Maker?
You can import files with the following file name extensions into Windows Movie Maker to use in your project:
Video files: .avi, .wmv, .mpeg, .mpg., .asf, m1v, .mp2, .mp2v, .mpe, , .mpv2, and .wm.
Audio files: .mp3, .wav, wma, .mp2, .aiff, .aif, .aifc,.asf, .au,.mpa, and .snd.
Picture files:.jpeg, .jpg, .jpe, .png, .bmp, .dib, .emf, .gif, .jfif,.tif, .tiff, and .wmf
    3. What file types are supported by YouTube?
YouTube accepts a wide range of video file formats. The video files below are all accepted by YouTube. Some video formats work best and are most compatible with certain computers, software or devices. Windows Media Video (.WMV)
    .3GP (cell phones)
    .AVI (windows)
    .MOV (mac)
    .MP4 (ipod/psp)
    .MPEG
    .FLV (adobe flash)
    .SWF (shockwave flash)v

  • Create New Type of Storyboard

I use a very popular type of storyboard in Germany which is used for TV Dokus.
It contains the following 6 columns:
    - scene (no)
    - Start (Timecode)
    - Visual (Description)
    - Audio (Description)
    - Duration (in minutes and seconds)
    - Status
I tried to import a WORD-Document and failed. (DOCX, RTF, PDF)
So I developed a new storyboard with several columns. But this is nearby of no use, because it makes no sens to work with it.
Even reenumeration scenes does not work.

Since its a column script that you are using, instead of importing the script into Story please try the following -
    1) Create a multicolumn script first in Story. (New-> Multicolumn Script)
    2) Copy the table from the word doc (Ctrl+C) into this script. (Ctrl+V)
You can add/delete columns and rows, edit column headers as per you need.
Let me know in case you face any issues.
    Thanks

  • Audio Storyboard from FCE?

I'm working on an animation project that I'm using After Effects and FCE for. To help us storyboard the project better, I was wondering if there was any way to export my edited audio with markers from FCE into a sort of storyboard, so that we can figure out animations with exact timings.
    Hopefully that makes sense

Add chapter markers in the FCE timeline. Export to QuickTime Movie. Set the output to audio only with chapter markers.

  • Storyboard & files are missing

    Hi,
I have created new project in Xcode. Initially it works well. After working some time all the images and the storyboard files gets disappear. I cannot access those files from NSDocumentDirectiory too. If i load viewcontroller from the storyboard the app gets crashed showing the below message.
"Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSInvalidArgumentException', reason: 'There doesn't seem to be a valid compiled storyboard at  "/Users/prabu/Library/Application Support/Iphone Simulator/7.1/Applications/0FE4049C-11E4-48A8-B814-A7E0A86E5842/test.app/Main.storyboardc''
After this message, once I reopen the app I can see all the files back and can access them.
Can you please guide me what is the problem for this issue.
    Xcode version - 5.1.1
    Memory usage - 65Mb (approximately)
    Thanks,
    Prabu

You need to make it reproduceable in order to get some useful help.
    The locations you describe:
    -/tmp
/tmp is the location for files which have a transient or temporary nature. Some linux distro's clean out /tmp after reboot (SuSE if I'm not mistaking), it is also possible some scripts cleanup /tmp (there are linux administration scripts available on the internet which do that)
    -/usr
/usr contains (among much others) the executables which are needed to use linux. If things went missing here, it would be rather noticeable (like crashing X, commands not working anymore, etc.)
    -/root
/root is the homedirectory of the root user. The root user should only be used for maintenance, not for any other operations (that is why you are urged to make an ordinary user during install)
So NO, the issue isn't described appropriate, you need to describe very detailled what has been done with what user, and what went missing where.
And additionally to the "/root" story: do not do anything using the root user. Use an ordinary user for things like browsing windows hosts.

  • How Do I Save Tab Bar Order When Customized? Using Storyboards.

Anyone out there who could really explain to my how i save the order of the tab bars when the application terminates, making them stay in the order when the application is re-launched? I have been all around the web for this one, and I can´t find a explenation that really explains how to do it. It would be really awsome if someone out there could help me with how I could solve this, really explaining where the different code should go. Keep in mind that i´m using storyboards!
    Cheers

That URL is part of a support thread; I'm not sure why you are getting that error.
Google's search preference ([http://support.google.com/websearch/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=425 Support Answer 425]) relates to what happens when you click a link in your search results page: whether it loads in the same tab or a new tab (or new window, if you don't divert new windows to tabs). So that's useful, but it doesn't address your request.
    The short term workarounds are:
    * If you usually search by pressing Enter, hold the Alt key to launch the search in a new tab -- setting the preference '''browser.search.openintab''' makes the Alt key unnecessary
    * If you usually search by clicking the magnifying glass icon, hold the Ctrl key to launch the search in a new tab or "middle-click" the button -- as far as I can tell, there is no preference to do this automatically
Some tab-related add-ons might solve this problem. I saw one blog post saying Tab Mix Plus will change the magnifying glass behavior to always open in a new tab.
