I'm not quite sure what you mean by application, but you can not turn whole applications to webservices. What you can do easily is to turn your services, e.g. the public methods in your stateless session bean layer as web services. There is different ways to do this, but you might want to check out Axis (http://ws.apache.org/axis ), which is a OS tool for creating WS call stacks over existing objects.

How do you make an application open on a specific monitor?

How do you make an application open on a specific monitor? I have two monitors, and I was able to get Firefox to open on the secondary display always by resizing it with the option or command key [I forget which one] and then quitting it. Now everytime I start it, it opens on the second monitor.
However, when I try to do the same with QuickTime [when playing videos], it always opens on the primary display no matter what I do with it. How do I make it always open on the secondary display?

Thanks for the suggestion, but no, Spaces is not what I want. I have two physical monitors, and simply want an application to always open on one monitor, not be able to switch back and forth between different desktops.

How do I make an application the default?

I installed Microsoft Office 2011. I do not want to use Outlook for mail. I want to use Apple Mac Mail. Sometimes Outlook opens instead of Mail. For instance if I click on an email link in Safari. How do I stop this?
How do I make an application the default? This would be the same as make a file type open with a default application in Windows.
I hope someone can help. I have looked in all the help files and not found the answer.

Re setting a default app for email -
Start up Mail. Open Mail's Preferences (Preferences in the Mail menu). Go to the General tab if it does not open with that chosen. First item in that screen, "Default email reader" - use the pulldown menu to select the app you wish to use. Then close the Preferences window and quit Mail.
Re setting a default app for a given file type -
Select a file of that type by clicking it once, then press Command-I (Get Info in File menu). Look down in the Get Info window to the section "Open with:" - use the pulldown menu there to select the app you wish to use for that file type, then click the "Change All..." button. From then on, double-clicking any file of that type should open it using the app you set.

How to make .exe applications

good day, im interested in java and started reading tutorials. i dont have prior background in programming. as i skip reading on tutorials, i notice that programs are run on command prompt. my question is, can i make a program that have filename extension .exe and when you click that icon it runs the program directly on the screen? i thought that program like C++ or java can make a application program just like games that dont need command prompt.

indetail .As Andy Millman might observe, you're having a laugh. This is a big topic, far exceeding what it is reasonable to expect people to help out with in a Forum. Do you not have the 6i documentation?
OTN has a site for upgarding to web forms. Although it is mainly focussed on moving to 9i/10g a lot of the issues and solutions apply to moving a 6i client/server app to web deployment. For further help there is a Forms.

Some apps allow you to do this with documents, photos, and videos but it is not possible to do with apps. Your best and only solution is to use the phone passcode.

Hi,
I think that there is not a standard support for retrieving multilanguage texts from database in ADF. What we did is to implement our own ResourceBundle that retrieves the translated text from custom database tables. We also introduced a cache for optimizing the access to the translations.

go to settings menu...then connectivity...then settings...set "Data use in home country " to always ask....so next time whenever any app would try to connect to internet then it would ask you to either cancel it or other options like "connect automatically" or "connect this time only"
If you want that your phone should only use your home wifi only then set "Data use in home country" to WLAN only

Your question is very broad and would best be answered by any one of a number of books. I really don't know which book to recommend without understanding a little more about your background and goals.
Firstly, we'll need to know whether you want to develop for the Mac, iPhone or Safari. It might also be good to know what kind of app you have in mind.
Secondly, it would be helpful to know whether you intend to design and program this app personally or whether you intend to hire people with expertise in developing Apple software. If you intend to develop the app yourself, it would be most helpful to know what you have developed in the past and/or your related college coursework or self-study.
There's a wealth of information at the Apple Developer sites, and I would recommend becoming familiar with the site that applies to your interest area: [http://developer.apple.com>. If you live near a good book store, I'd also recommend spending time in the Apple developer section. Typing +programming apple+ in the search field of an online bookstore will also give you lots to look over.

We are Oman and have the same version 6i (if already have windows arabic supported plateform its otherwise configure your plateform for arabic exp. add arabic language from control panel), you don't need to do any thing in oracle except to set NLS_LANG we are using AR8MSAWIN(one more in my knowledge is AR8MSWIN1256) and it supports arabic as well as english. Ok

Mumble attenuation makes some applications quieter and quiter

Mumble has an attenuation option that makes other applications quieter while others are talking. I like this option, but I noticed that in some cases it ends up getting into a cycle of making things ridiculously quiet. I'm not sure exactly what applications it affects, but it definitely affects Chrome.
My guess is that it's caused by a combination of:
1. Mumble reducing all pulseaudio playback by 50% when someone talks
2. PulseAudio remembering individual application volume when you close/open them
3. Chrome starting/stopping new processes frequently for new tabs
So for example, someone starts talking so Mumble reduces all Chrome process volume by 50%. I close a tab while this is happening so PulseAudio remembers that the process was running at 50% volume. I reopen a tab and PulseAudio restores the 50% volume even though no one is talking. Someone starts talking again, so now that tab is set to 25% volume. If the same sequence happens again, it goes down further to 12% etc.
I have no idea how to solve this problem. Which program is to blame here? Mumble? PulseAudio?

I may have corrected the problem. It took several starts of iTunes, each time navigating to my podcasts and right clicking on 2-3 and unsubscribing from them before it went to 25%, became unresponsive, and required shut down from the task manager.
As soon as they were all unsub'd, iTunes went silent on CPU usage. The APSDaemon.exe shot up to 25%, but a reboot and a restart has everything quiet. I've accessed the store, played some songs, downloaded one. So far, so good.
I'll be back here to report any change.
