Make and Model of stock 8-core (2008) internal 320 GB drive?

Does anybody know the Make and Model of stock 8-core (2008) internal 320 GB drive? I'm planning to do a Mac OS software RAID 0 and I want to get an identical drive to the internal one. Or if somebody can convince me this is a bad idea please let me know. Regards, -Keith

Finally upgraded from G4 Powerbook. Whew. Getting ready to set up for web dev. and perhaps some (not too intensive) video editing (maybe with FC Express) and am looking into an extra drive. Was thinking Hitachi Enterprise 750GB for sheer size but then I may not need that much storage at the moment and perhaps should go for performance with 150GB 10K Raptor and set that as boot drive? Was interested in thoughts on this. They're both about the same cost.
Thanks!
ps--will also be getting 8GB of RAM from Otherworldcomputing

What make and model lens cap will fit the Canon 58C Macrolite Adapter?

    Hi, compupix!
In order to know which lens caps would be the right ones for your setup, we first need to know which lens you're using with this adapter.  Once we know that, we can match you up with the right one.

  • T500 2089 : How do I determine the make and model of the motherboard?

I do not the identity or make or model of my laptop's motherboard.  My goal is to upgrade the Intel CPU from 2.53 MHtz to something closer to 3.0 Mhtz.  Can I discover this information within hte system, or on the exterior of the laptop?
Also, I want to install a ATI Radeon Laptop Video Card with 512 DDR memory
I have been told tha tI need to know precisely  what type of motherboard and what type of CPU and Video card is needed for the system.
Also, my system information (O/S MS Vista 32 Byte Business) declares that my laptop uses twin  T-9400 Intel CPU's while my Device manager reports that my CPUs are  P-8500 chips running at 2.40 MHtz. Why the discontinuity in the chip identities?
    Thanks,
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

You can't change the graphic card. Is soldered to the motherboard. If you need more graphic power you will need to swap the planar and get a model with switchable graphics
As said above, if you want to check which CPU you have the easiest will be to turn on the T500 and press F1 when the Thinkpad logo appears. You will get into the BIOS and see the installed CPU (among other things like current date and RAM)

  • Adding camera make and model to metadata

    Hi All,
I have a lot of slides to scanned and imported into Lightroom. How can I tag these images using the metadata field Camera Make and Camera Model to reflect my camera make/model.
    Thanks,

    Jim,
I found it a bit intimidating also, but needed a way to add lens data to some images, so bit the bullet and gave it a try. Had some learning problems along the way, but discovered the ExifTool forum. The author is extremely helpful and always seems to answer w/i 24 hours. The more I use it, the more I like it. Give it a try, it's very powerful.

  • Windows 7 64 bit ability to print to two printers (same make and model)

I have several Windows 7 64 bit PC's which just can't seem to print locally using USB to an HP Laserjet 1018 printer.  However, i could get all of the Windows 7 machines to successfully print to the HP 1018 when it was attached to an XP SP3 machine.
I now believe, after 8 hours of frustration :-) , that when you have two printers, same manufacturer and same model, windows does not know what to do.  Note that I do not have a seperate unix print server and have not attempted printer pooling.
So, the first issue I have is that I just can;t print locally to the 1018.  Might this be due to having the same Printer defined more than once with different names?
WIth the above said, is there any way to define the same model printer so that I may print locally using my USB / printer cable attached to the machine I am using   AND, retain the option to print on the same printer model (different physical printer) when it is attached to the XP machine elsewhere in the house and is shared?
I'm sure I'm missing obvious steps / facts ... hopefully someone can bring clarity to my issue.  I would think this to be simply but, it's anything but :-(

    We don't do Windows here!
Try posting in the BootCamp forum. There is also the Windows Compatibilty forum.

  • Independent recognition of two usb microphones (same make and model)

    Hi Folks,
The issue described here was already nicely described in a different post during a response to a different question. I reproduce it here, since it seems to warrant some independent attention. The original post was from "Points East" and the link is:
    http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=13127891&#13127891
Here is what was posted by "Points East":
"I'm trying to use two Blue Snowball usb mics for audio input to GarageBand. When I connect them I can see both in the System Profiler (one on each hub with different location ID's) but when I go to the Audio Midi Setup utility to create an Aggregate Device I only see one listed."
I, too, am having this same issue. Let me add more detail:
    * I can plug the two BLUE Snowball microphones either into the two USB ports on my MacBook (running 10.6.7) or into two ports on a powered USB hub, which is then plugged into 1 of my USB ports on my MacBook
    * I can see these listed as two separate USB devices in the System Profiler
    * However, in "System Preferences"->"Sound" only one of the two microphones appears listed as a USB device and only one (the first one plugged in) is responsive when exposed to sound (tapping on the mic).
    * Also, in the "Audio MIDI Setup" the microphone model is only listed once and seems to correspond only to one of the two plugged in microphones
    * Separately plugging in one mic at a time shows that both independently work find and record sound. It is only when they are plugged in at the same time that one of them doesn't get listed in "System Preferences"->"Sound" or in "Audio MIDI Setup" and thus I cannot actually use both mics to record.
Is anyone else having this problem, and if so, has anyone either solved it or have some idea about where to begin testing?
    Regards,
    Steve

Just as further information about this issue, here is what appears for the two microphones in the System Profiler:

  • How to I find the system make and model, etc. on this computer?

where can I find the information on my Mac computer?

There are Support pages that do show where to locate serial numbers
and other information, depending on which product you have, different
pages exist to direct you to find more hardware model information.
To correctly identify the computer build type model series year etc.
would be helpful if you randomly ask a question about a 'computer'.

    Portable:

You could also use a serial number lookup service online, if you found
the serial number on a computer that does not run, then you may be
able to learn more about the hardware &/or software it shipped with.
    Here's an example of an online lookup service, by serial number;
which can supply more details than lookup by model number...
The model numbers may cover a wide range of years with less
detail for your specific computer build model identifier series.

  • Make to order and sales from stock

    Hi,
What are the important differences between make to order and sales from stock?
    Thanks

    Dear Yves,
    Make-to-order
A type of production in which a product is manufactured for a particular customer.
Includes both sales order production and engineer-to-order.
    Make-to-stock
An inventory of goods that were not manufactured for specific sales orders or projects.
I hope it will clear for you,
    Regards,
    Murali.

  • ATO model with both "Make" and "Buy" options

    Hello,
Is it possible that an ATO Model has both "Make" and "Buy" type of options in it. If yes, how does the "Buy" item get fulfilled on the sales order. The buy item needs to ship together with the assembly, but as a separate part.
Or should such a scenario be achieved by having an ATO within a PTO and the buy item as a separate option in the PTO?
    Thanks,
    Raj

If an item is not made part of the assembly, then you have to choose a PTO.
    Something like this
    >
    PTO
    -------- PTO Option Class
    ---------------Buy1
    ---------------Buy2
    --------ATO Model
    --------------ATO option class
    ---------------------Option1
    ---------------------Option2
    >
    Sandeep Gandhi
Edit: For some reason, the BOM format is not rendered correctly in the above post. It appears that the ATO model is a child of PTO option class. That is not the case. The PTO Option Class and the ATO model are at the same level on the PTO bom.

  • Encrypt the data and make the model unusable

hi, having to distribute the 3d animations made with sap, I would like to be sure that the data contained in the CAD models exported (. rh. vds pdf 3d) can not be used to reconstruct the model. How can I encrypt the data and make the model unusable?
    thanks

    Max,
There are other forms of file-based protection offered for mobile devices (SAP Afaria) and by other software vendors to secure the end deliverable (e.g. Adobe for 3D PDFs).   In addition, SAP's partner NextLabs offers a very comprehensive solution to automate the security of your sensitive information and even provide expiration dating.
In addition to file protection, 3D Visual Enterprise includes a function to obfuscate the geometry itself thereby making reverse engineering almost impossible.   The "Randomize Objects" function can be used to randomly skew the vertices of the model by small amounts.  It keeps the normals correct, however, so that the object still looks smooth. This in turn makes precise measurements extremely difficult.
