Make Business systems visible within SAP PI Tools

Hi!
I defined technical system and business system as well within SLD. Now I would like to see this business system within SAP PI tools (such as Integration Builder).
Question:
Which actions are requiered after the definition the technical and business system in order to work with these systems in SAP PI tools?
Is thers some documents describing this issue?
Thank you!

Hi,
The order for without party is simple, just import it, then
1. Create configuration scenario
2. Assign this system to your scenario
3. Create communication channels
4. Create Sender Agreement, Receiver Determination, Interface Determination, Receiver Agreement
And for with party.
1. Create Party in Integration Directory
2. Assign business system to this party
Now when you create your scenario
1. Create configuration scenario
2. Assign this party and system to your scenario
3. Create communication channels
4. Create Sender Agreement, Receiver Determination, Interface Determination, Receiver Agreement
>>- Creation of Party
First
>>- Creation of Business component
Second
>>- Creation of Scenario
Third
>>- Assign Business system
Fourth
Hope now it is clarified.

  • Whr should maintained a business system group in SAP APO

    hi gurus,
where should i maintain business system group in SAP APO
can u explain me, what is the process, how it will work, why need BSG in APO
    prasad

    Hi,
We maintain Business System Group in APO IMG.
IMG >> SCM Basis >>Integration >> Basic Settings for Creating the System Landscape >> Maintai n Business System Group
In this IMG activity, we determine the assignment to a business system group of this system and the ERP systems that are to be connected. By doing this, you create areas with the same naming conventions. These guarantee that the same names are used for master data and also their synchronization in distributed system landscapes.
In addition to the ERP systems, this system too must be assigned to a business system group (BSG) as an independent logical system.
    Proedure :
    u2022     Choose New Entries.
u2022     On the New Entries: Overview screen, specify the following information for the business system group:
o     An alphanumerical key (maximum of 10 characters).
o     A description of your choice
    u2022     Save your entries.
    Example :
An SCM System is to be connected with the two ERP systems A and B in which two different materials (for example a hammer and a screw), have the same material number (100). The two materials are to be represented as two different products in the SCM system.
Assign The two ERP systems to different BSGs. Assign the SCM system to one of the two BSGs.
    u2022     ERP system A (material number 100 = hammer) -> BSG A
    u2022     ERP system A (material number 100 = screw) -> BSG B
    u2022     SCM system -> BSG A
    Hope this gives you insight.

  • SAP business systems

    Hi all,
In SLD we can create the Business systems for the SAP systems. What are the different SAP Systems generally.
If I want to create 2 SAP Business Systems I have to create One Product or 2 different products for each.
    Regards,
    Anjaneya

What are the different SAP Systems generally.
In SLD, for SAP systems, usually WebAs ABAP business systems and technical systems are created.
If I want to create 2 SAP Business Systems I have to create One Product or 2 different products for each.
There is no such constraint. Creation of product is just the logical distinction of the system landscapes across any organization. U may create a Business System without that also

  • Logical system and business system

Hi experts, please help me with the below questions---
    1) What is the diff between logical system and business system?
2)what is the difference between logical system(defined in R/3) and business system (defined in SLD) in idoc to file scenario.
    3) Is it require to give the logical system name of the xi server(Which we define in idx1 port) to the 3rd party system(Application system at the FTP side) to carry out file to idoc scerario?

    Hi,
    Business System :
    1. Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within XI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems. Depending on the associated technical system.
    2. Business Systems should be mandatory used when dealing with Idoc's and Proxies .
    Business Service:
    1. Business Service requires manual adding on Inbound and Outbound Interfaces, Business Systems do not.
    2. Business Services are maintained across environments and so, their names cannot be changed. Business Systems names can be changed across environments by providing SLD level transport targets.
3.In the Business Services we cannot maintain the Group and Targets in SLD. For Ease in transporting your ID/Configuration objects Groups and Targets are used in SLD for Business Systems.
4.Business Service has no SLD Entries and No Assigned Products and SWCV's

  • Logical System,Business System

    Hi Gurus,
What is Logical System? n What is Business System?
Wt is the Difference betweent these two?Can you explain me in detial.
    thanks in advacne.

    Hi Kumar
    Logical System
System in which applications sharing a common data basis run. In SAP terms, a logical system is a client in a database. Messages are exchanged between logical systems.
Systems of the Central User Administration (CUA) are referred to using logical system IDs. In the SAP sense, a logical system is a client. Therefore you must first set up logical system names that you then assign to the clients in the SAP systems.
It is possible that the logical system name already exists because you have already included the system in an ALE distribution. You can then ignore the procedures Define/Set Up Logical System and Assign Logical System to a Client.
Business systems are logical systems that function as senders or receivers within the SAP Exchange Infrastructure. You configure business systems in the SAP System Landscape Directory (SLD). A business system is always associated with a technical system (here: SAP Web AS ABAP system).

  • Business System and Technical System ??

    Hi Experts,
Please tell, What is the Technical System and Business System. How many Technical and Busniess Systems do we have in XI ?
    Early responses are welcome.

    Hi,
    Business systems:
Business systems are logical systems, which function as senders or receivers within PI. Business systems can be SAP systems or third-party systems.
Depending on the associated technical system, the following types of business systems are defined in the SLD:
    Web AS ABAP:
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP.
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS ABAP, can play the role either of an application system or an integration server. An integration server is the central component of PI, which provides a framework for the exchange of information among various internal and external entities of a company. The integration server facilitates the interaction between the different operating systems and applications across internal and external networks.
    Web AS Java:
A business system, which is associated with a Web AS Java.
    Standalone:
A business system, which is associated with a standalone Java application.
    Third-party:
A business system, which is associated with a third-party technical system.
    Technical systems:
Technical systems are application systems that are installed in your system landscape. An example of an application system is a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) server. In the SLD, there are five types of technical systems:
    Web AS ABAP:
Web AS ABAP technical systems, ranging from any SAP system to an APO server or CRM server, are based on the same Basis Component (BC), which includes the ABAP interpreter, ABAP Dictionary, ABAP Workbench, and so on. A dedicated database, which stores most of the data of the BC and the application components, is associated with the system.
    Web AS Java:
Web AS Java systems consist of one or more instances and each instance is installed on a separate host. An instance itself consists of cluster nodes that can communicate with each other.
    Standalone Java:
Standalone Java technical systems are standalone Java applications that are installed in a computer system from an administration perspective. They can also be installed as an operating system service or as a daemon.
    Third-Party:
Third-party technical systems contain third-party software components and products.

    Hi
    Business Service
    1) You use a Business Service, when you do not have the System details of the the partner system to which you want to communicate. i.e. you have not configured the partner system in SLD.
    2) Business Service is an Absract Unit with Sender and Receiver Interfaces,In this case you need to explicitly add the message interfaces while doing configuration in ID.
    3) It is generally used for NON-SAP applications, this is just a general prinicple followed but not mandatory.
    4) This is not defined as part of SLD and whose technical parameters are not completely known.
5)Business service is used when the message is not addressed to a business system. It is used mostly in B2B scenarios.

  • Business System Names during integration

    Hi
I have a number of ABAP Proxy integrations between ECC and PI. My question relates to the name of the sender service when it appears in PI.
I have a system that is defined in the SLD as XXX009 (where XXX is the SID and 009 is the client number). Now when making proxy calls to my legacy system (PI 7.11) it appears as XXX009 but when calling my current system (PI 7.31) the sender system appears as XXXCLNT009.
Can I ask why the business system names are different? Why is one XX009 and the other XXXCLNT009 when the source ECC system is the same? It doesn't make sense?
    Regards

    Hi Robert,
A Business System can be a reflection of your SAP ECC system.
You register it in the SLD via transaction RZ70. This registration will create a technical system.
The name of the business system can be chosen freely. That is the reason why you see differences.
What I do is this: on the ECC system, go to transaction SCC4 and choose the relevant client.
Have a look at the business system name. Use that one in the SLD.
Generally, Business Systems reflecting an SAP ERP/ECC system are created like <sapsid>CLNT<client>
    Hope this clarifies.
    Kind regards,
    Dimitri

  • How to decide no.Technical and Business Systems required for any senario

    Hi XI experts
I am very new to XI but it is very interesting ....
To develop any scenario how to decide Technical systems and Business
         Systems...
For any scenario but how to decide the systems howmany to create ?
I had a scenario like SOAP to RFC to SOAP ? For this how to decide?
One more like FILES to BPM to JDBC ...like
Can any one explain me for any scenario which may include SAP
         R/3,CRM,APO,BW,JDBC,SOAP,RFC...any system.
    Adv..thanks and points to all
    Kiranlvs

    Hi Kiran.
Ok here I will try to answer your question.
    1) SOAP (Web Service) -> RFC (R/3) -> SOAP (Web Service)
    a) you will need to create a Business System for R/3.
    b) you will need to create a third party business system or a business service for the Web Service system.
    2) File (File System) -> XI -> JDBC (Database)
    a) you will need to create a third party business system or a business service for the File system.
    b) you will need to create a third party business system or a business service for the Database system.
note: BPM is one of the functionality of XI so there is no need to create a BS or TS for it.
    3) CRM or APO or BW (SAp Systems) -> XI -> IDoc (R/3)
    a) Business System for CRM or APO or BW
    b) Business System for R/3.
The bottom line is you need to create Business System for any SAP system that is part of you integration scenario or when you have to Idoc, RFC and Proxies.
If the business system already exists for the SAP system then you just need to attach your SWCV or Product to that Business System.

  • Difference between business service and business system in SLD

    hi all,
i m very new to XI. can anybody tell me that what is the basic difference between Business Service and Business Systems?
Is it necessary to use them? and if yes then when to use what?
    Thanx.
    Regards,
    Kunjal......

    Hi Kunjal,
In SAP XI every system in your landscape with which you are interfacing is defined as Service.
The service can be your Business service or Business system.
Generally SAP systems are referred to Business system and you define them in the SLD before you import them.
The Business service is a logical name referring to any system in your landscape.
To communicate with any third party application you need to create communication channels which are associated to your service.

If you change/delete the host name of the Integration Server after the installation in either the SLD or the exchange profile, you must adjust it accordingly in the exchange profile or the SLD, respectively
