Make document preview icons bigger

how can I make document preview icons bigger? They were MUCH bigger in Leopard. Can hardly get an idea of them now

Are you referring to the icons shown in folders?
If so, their size is adjustable. To do that, with a folder open and active and set to Icon view, open View Options from the View menu. There is a slider in there which you can use to adjust the size of the icons.
Alternatively, go to the View menu and select Show Status Bar. This will add a small area at the bottom of the folder's window which will display some info about hard drive space, and will also contain a slider - this slider will adjust icon sizes.
To adjust icon sizes in folders set to List or Cover Flow views, open View Options for the folder - there is a small choice of sizes, little and big.
There is no adjustment for icon size in Column view.

  • QuickLook: How to make QuickLook preview fonts bigger?

    Hi
I have to preview an EPS header frequently the way as I need (drag an EPS on TextEdit icon and it will show an EPS header in text format), so I've asked one guy to write me a QuickLook plugin for to speedup my work. The plugin works perfect except one thing. Default font size in QuickLook for a text file are to small, it's hard to see anything on my screen.
Is there any way to change default font size in QuickLook?
    Thank you in advance guys!

  • Photoshop CC does not make any preview icons on Maverics while saving a picture - no matter what option i take....

With PS CS6 everything works fine. With PS CC - no chance! Everything i tried has no effect. I there someone, who can help me?

I think its a little bit different.
The MacOS shows me the icons - these icons have a white border!
The thumbnails from PS have no border, and will also be shown, when i turn off the option in a window for "preview symbols".
The pictures left and right are saved with PS CC - the picture in the middle with PS CS6.
On the second screenshot you see it without preview symbols....

  • Make Mail Icons bigger

I've noticed a few postings regarding how 10.5 removed the option to make the mailbox icons bigger. I've found a way to make them bigger so I thought I would share it with others...
In Mail, go to your prefs, then Fonts & Color, Mailbox Fonts. Changing the font size will automatically change the icon size. Not very intuitive and not exactly independent control of the icon size but at least better than nothing!

  • Globally Stopping Finder Icons from Showing the Document Preview

Unlike in Tiger, my new Leopard OS is doing something kind of annoying. When I am in a Finder window (I tend to always use list view), many files are showing a preview of the content instead of the regular file icon. For example, with a PDF, I am seeing a preview of the first page instead of the regular PDF icon. And the same is true for word documents. This makes it very hard to tell what kind of files I am looking at in my list view, and it's made even worse because I am using the small icon view. You cannot tell what the content is anyway.
I can make this happen when I choose "Show View Options" from the Finder window. But that seems to only work for the current window. I need this to happen globally because I open I lot of folders and subfolders from our Xserve, and these type of setting never hold once I dismount and remount the server. Any ideas?

which view option are you using? In columns view it's enough to remove "show preview icons" in "show view options" for one window. it will affect all other windows which are in column view. for other views you change it for one window and click "use as defaults".

  • Is there a way to make the tolbars, tabs and icons bigger in Firefox 4?

Is there a way to make the tolbars, tabs and icons bigger in Firefox 4?

Yes right click on a toolbar, the customize option allows ordinary or small icons.
Other options are to look at Operating System settings, or to adjust some of the Firefox preferences, and I also note mention of an add-on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/theme-font-size-changer
Additionally there are add-ons that change content size.
See also [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/772884#answer-126017 thread] '' " I would like to make the font sizes on my menu bars, tool bars, and tabs larger. How can I change those font sizes only? " ''
If anyone does change the ''layout.css.devPixelsPerPx'' in Firefox 4 I would be interested in what happens, there is a possible bug as mentioned in [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/791213 4.0RC1 - Bookmark hover fault]

  • The "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon, so selecting Adobe Reader as action does not work to display the PDF.

In the Applications tab -- Content Type -- the "portable document format" icon is a Word 2010 icon (not Adobe), so selecting Adobe Reader or preview in Firefox as action does not work to display the PDF. I can see this Applications difference because my other Firefox laptop has the Adobe icon, and I can view PDFs. Essentially, a PDF is coming in as a Word document -- and the computer tries to open it up as a Word file.
How do I get the correct PDF icon in the Applications list -- the same way it displays (and works) on my other laptop.

Adobe PDF Plug-In For Firefox and Netscape 10.1.7 ?
I think you need to add this to the list of applications and the action to take on the type of content. This can also be managed in the about:permissions page. [[Permissions Manager - Give certain websites the ability to store passwords, set cookies and more]]

  • SAP Easy Document Management icon not created

    Hi
We have problem with a PC (running Windows 7) where the Easy Document Managment icon is not created on the desktop after installation.
It is not created as a Folder in Windows Explorer either.
But it seems to have been installed correctly.
Have tried to uninstall and installed again.
    Yes, we have re-booted.
Any idea why the icon is not created and why It is not in Windows Explorer either?
It is ok on other Windows 7 PC's
    Best regards
    Tom

    Hi Deepak
Thanks.  We have tried that as well.
But I think there is something that makes the installation procedure not able to update everything as it shall.
Is there some manual steps we can do after the uninstall, to be sure EasyDMS are totally remove from the PC?
    Best regards
    Tom

  • How do i make top bar font bigger for mini on 60" display

I have my MINI on a 60" display. I know how to zoom on web pages & make my bottom bar icons bigger. Can I make the font size of the top bar (all other text) bigger? If so , where do I go?

I know of know way to alter the menu bar in OS X as far as font or size goes. There are several apps to customize the Menu bar, but none that will change the size.

  • Preview Icons vanishing when dragged into new folder.

When dragging an image file (with a preview icon showing the small representation of that image) is dragged from it's original folder to a new one, the preview disappears and is replaced with a generic "EPS" or "Jpeg" grey icon. Futher, if I get information about the file, the preview picture of the image also shows just a generic file type icon, even though I can see clearly the preview icon. This is so frustrating, as I must then batch process images in photoshop to have a new preview image show up.
To make things even more annoying, the process is inconsistent. If I drag the a eps file from the original folder with the image preview into a new folder, the preview may be missing. If I drag and drag, creating multiple copies of the file in a new folder "hnuewf.eps 1, .2, .3 etc...) almost always one of these attempts will copy correctly, with the preview intact. What the heck is going on!

    Partilly solved by rebuilding permissions....

OPen the folder where this issue is happening, and use the View menu to choose View Options. Make sure the checkbox next to Show icon previews is checked.
    Hope this helps.

  • Preview icons on desktop

Just upgraded to 10.9.2 Mavericks.  Whereas before Preview icons in Finder showed a picture of what the file is, now it only shows the "Preview" icon.  Did programmers forget this very nice feature?

Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder.  Select Preferences/com.apple.finder.plist. Move the .plist to your desktop.
Re-launch Finder by logging out/in and test. If it works okay, delete the plist from the desktop.
If the same, return the .plist to where you got it  from, overwriting the newer ones.
Thanks to leonie for some information contained in this.
You might need to redo the View settings after an update.

  • Preview icon was gone from dock

    Hi everyone
I have a problem with Mountain Lion. When I opened a pdf documents with Preview, it worked fine. After I closed the document (without quitting Preview) then I clicked on desktop, the Preview icon was gone from the dock. But when I opened Force quit menu, the Preview app was still on.
What should I do? It didn't happen before
    Thanks

Right. This is how Applications are supposed to work. So you want Preview to behave the same, but in your situation it is disappearing from the Dock even though its clearly still running in the background (ie, as is evident when you open the force-quit window)?
This could be a problem with the Dock's settings, or those for the Preview application itself.
If you create a new user account for testing purposes (in the Users & Groups system preferences) and log into that account, does the same problem happen when running Preview?

  • How do I make document folders in adobe reader app on iPad? Thanks

How do I make document folders in adobe reader app on iPad? Thanks

First show the Documents list, and in the upper left tap the Edit button. A toolbar in the upper left you'll see a folder icon with a + superimposed. Tap that and you'll be prompted to Create a Folder. Enter the folder name and tap the Save button and your new folder will appear in the Documents list.
