Make elements default for showing images

Somehow I clicked too quickly and now Quicktime is my default for displaying images on my computer. How do I get it back to photoshop elements? Using elements 5.0 and windows xp
Thanks

George,
Right click on one of your picture files
Go to Open with > go to Choose program > choose program (Elements in your case) > check use selected program to open this kind of file.

  • How to make PSE default for .psd files

    Hi all
    I have both PS CS2 and PSE9 installed on my MAC pro, running the latest version of Snow Leopard.  If I click to open an image with a .psd extension, the system automatically launches PS CS2.  I would like the system to recognize PSE9 as my default for images.  I looked all around system preferences yesterday, but couldn't find anything. I'm sure I'm missing something.....  Thanks.

    Find a closed psd file. Click it once to highlight it and press command+i for the Get Info window. Under Open with Application choose PSE, then click Change All.

  • How do I make preview default for pdf's in safari?

    I googled it and it said to go to library in your finder, but there is no "library" in my finder. what do i do?

    You can make Preview the default for PDF files you download in Safari. Locate a PDF file on your system, select it, click cmd-i to Get Info, then find the "Open With" tab, change the application to Preview, and click Change All.

  • How to make mouseover effect text show image in popup window or tooltip?

    I am trying to display a popup image in a new window when the mouse moves over some text. Or perhaps, the image could display in a tooltip when the mouse moves over some text.
    However, I have achieved the functionality of an image appearing above the text when the mouse moves over some text. This is how I did this:
    I put this code into the Page HTML Header:
    <script type="text/javascript">
    <!--
    function setFirstChildImgDisplay(el,vis) {
    if(!el || !el.getElementsByTagName) return;
    el.getElementsByTagName('img')[0].style.display=vis;
    // -->
    </script>
    I created a region and put this in the Region's Title field:
    {div onmouseover="setFirstChildImgDisplay(this,'inline')"  onmouseout="setFirstChildImgDisplay(this,'none')">Check out Page 1 here <img src="#WORKSPACE_IMAGES#DGNR Preview Page 1.bmp" alt="Page 1 Preview" style="display:none;">{/div}
    I am thinking that I should not have all of this code in the Region's Title field. But, I don't know where else to put it in APEX.
    So my questions are:
    1. how to get an image to display in a popup window or as a tooltip when the mouse is moved over some text?
    2. where should the {div} content be placed in APEX, if not in the Title field?
    Please note that I used '{' & '}' instead of '<' & '>' just so the div would display in this post.
    Also, I would like to give credit to this website because this is where I found out how to do what I have provided above.

    It's just an image map. Play with the settings. Here's a shape layer making a hole in the water and adding a bit of color.

  • How do I make Photoshop the default for opening images?

    Hi,
    Right now it's set to Preview. How do I change it to Photoshop? Oh, I have an iMac with 10.6.8 now.
    Thank you.

    Right click on the file and choose Get info.  In the Get info field will be Open with where you can select the app to open that file.  You can also select to open all similar files with the chosen app.

  • Answer to how to make PSE12 default for jpgs

    Earlier I asked for help in how to make PSE12 the default program to open jpg files. I wasn't able to get my problem resolved. Until today. I contacted Adobe Tech Support.
    You need to locate your file. Mine is at C/Program Files (x86)/Adobe/Photoshop Elements 12/PhotoshopElementsEditor.
    The Editor file did not have an extension name and needed to be renamed to PhotoshopElementsEditor.exe.
    As soon as I did that, I was able to make it the default.
    Your Adobe program may be in a different place, but the steps would be the same.
    Good luck! Thanks to Adobe Tech Support.

  • Make DW default for XML files?

    I'm sure there's a way to do this that I'm missing, but I'd like to make DW my default app for XML files.  I know how this can be done on Windows (using "open with" and changing default), but I'm using Mac OSX.  I tried messing with the file types section of DW's preferences, but it didn't work.  Anyone know how to fix this?  Thanks.

    In the Mac Finder, select an XML file, and click More Info (or press Cmd+I - that's I, not a lowercase L) to bring up an Info panel. Expand the section that says Open With, and then select Dreamweaver from the pop-up menu (click Other, if it's not listed). Then click the Change All button to apply it to all XML files.

  • Make Pages Default For Opening Word Documents

    I currently use iWork but also use openOffice, whenever I open up a Word document by double clicking it openOffice opens... How can I make Pages the default application for handling these files?

    Walt...THANK YOU...can't tell you how irritating it was for me to, by force of habit, double click on a *.doc file & then have Parallels start to open Windows XP so it could get to MS Word - I just did not want that to happen...what a pain. I tried to find a way to have Pages be the default program for *.doc files but couldn't until I read your entry. As a new Mac convert from years & years of Windows use, let me say it again...Thank You

  • Make XFCE4 default for all users

    I got Arch up and running with XFCE4. its great so far
    I am using either xdm or wdm as my login manager (havent decided which i want yet)
    I added a ".xinitrc" file to my home folder so that XFCE4 will start when I log in. is there a way to make XFCE4 the default wm for all new users without having to add a .xinitrc file to all of their home folders? I only plan on using XFCE4 so I dont need the login manager to load other wm's. but i would like to be able to add users and have their session automatically start as XCFE. all i have found by googling and on LQ.org is making a .xinitrc file, but these seem to lean toward a single user system. there has to be an easier way, ie with fedora when you make a new user, log out and log in as the new user and it will start  the default wm, or you can choose whichever wm you want to use.
    im using arch 0.7.2 'gimmick' and all packages have been updated

    If you just edit the skeleton file for <code>.xinitrc</code>, then for each user that is created, it will automatically be set to run xfce.  The location of the file is <code>/etc/skel/.xinitrc</code> if that answers your question.

  • Can't Set Default for "Show Items From Subfolders"

    I like to view several folders and subfolders at the same time...and then view another group of folders and subfolders, etc. etc. etc....and to do that I'm constantly going to View > Show Items From Subfolders because the command doesn't "stick."  I've looked around, and don't see a way to set "Show Items From Subfolders" as a default. Does anyone know a way to do that?
    Thanks for any help.

      I've looked around, and don't see a way to set "Show Items From Subfolders"
    as a default. Does anyone know a way to do that?
    You can't do so and I'm still not sure you should, it is easy to forget
    resetting it and when visiting a new folder with lot's of subfolders and
    files not being cached it can slow down your workflow, but that is my
    personal opinion
    An option for you might be to open a new window for a new search in
    different folders. By default the new window reflects the current window
    with all subfolder content but changes also to without viewing subfolders
    after having clicked on a new folder. However switching back to the other
    window(s) they still have the 'show subfolders' active.
    Instead of switching folders you could switch windows (I often have multiple
    windows active and cycle through them using cmd+` (tilde key).

  • Whats the simplest way to make a wrapper for 90 image graphic novel?

    Hi. I have a graphic novel I want to convert into an app. There is some debate on what is the best route to go. It will have appx 90 images, so the images need to be unloaded as you go so memory is not an issue. The only controls are forward, back, and a button link to the app store, and a button link to the website. It needs additional memory management to make the last page viewed resume if the reader comes back after being interrupted. I have been told i need to work with uiscrollview and paging enabled, I was just looking to see if anyone had a simpler idea, or knew of code that was similar. Ths scrolling app is almost there, I am just unsure of how to adjust the code for images that fit the screen, as well as adding in the memory management features.
    Thanks for the help!

    An intuos II to whoever solves this program!
    The pagecontrol.app sample app has most of what is needed.
    Things that remain are:
    1) intelligent unloading of images to reduce memory
    2) a simple way to handle any number of prenamed images (possibly 100)
    3) data persistence so that resuming the app brings you back to the last page viewed
    4) a button on the first page to call a url in safari

  • Making iPhoto Default for Safari

    How do I make iPhoto my default for the images I download in Safari? I don't want to keep changing the folder I download into everytime I download something. Can't I just have an option to download images to iPhoto everytime? Also how can I make iPhoto my default for all images?
    I'm a new Mac user, can you tell? LOL
    Thanks,
    Barb

    When you download files in a browser, you never specify what application is supposed to open it. In Mac OS X, each type of file (.GIF, .PNG, .JPG, etc.) has a specific default application, which is automatically assigned to the file, although you can change those defaults if you want.
    The problem with iPhoto is that it cannot work with files not already in its library; and only certain types of files can be imported by it. So the answer to your question is that there is no completely automatic way to move files into iPhoto. I don't think even AppleScript can really help you much here.
    Sorry for the bad news. You can still import image files by just dragging them into iPhoto folders when it is open, however. That should be easy enough.

  • Printing problem linked to EXIF time data for JPEG images.

    For some years I have been using Photoshop Elements 8.0 with no problems of any kind. My computer runs on XP Professional with a system comfortably in excess of the minimum requirements to run Elements 8.0. I load my images into Elements from a card reader which is the same one since I got this version of Elements. I shoot mostly in JPEG with a Nikon D300. I print to one of 2 Epson printers, an SX100 and a PX700W. I don't use the wireless feature of the PX700W, connecting it via USB.
    About a year ago I suddenly began to experience printing problems. If I tried to print an image Elements crashed just at the point where printing would begin. By trial & error I discovered that if I adjusted the time in the EXIF data of the image in Elements, whether by advancing or retarding it by hours or days and then adjusted it back to the original time I had no problems printing that image thereafter.
    I also discoveredc that where I had shot in RAW I could print direct from the RAW image in Elements or from the JPEG I saved from an edited in RAW and had no problems.
    I saw the forum discussions about the issues about the date/time in EXIF having been changed following the import into Elements. For those images I still had on my memory cards I checked the EXIF data in Elements and compared it what was on the image on the card. They were the same. I also checked the time zone and time settings of the camera and they were correct.
    I backed up my catalog, re-formatted the computer to bring it back to its ex-factoy status, re-installed Elements and restored my catalog. I imported new images, tried to print them and the problem was still there.
    Before I might upgrade to Photoshop Elements 10 I'm hoping someone else may tell me they have had the same problem and, hopefully, be able to tell me how they fixed it. I know the workaround will bypass the problem but it really annoys me that it suddenly appeared and I seem to be stuck with it. I'm also concerned that, given I totally re-formatted my computer but the problem  is still with me, that the problem may be imbedded in my catalog and simply gets backed up to,\and restored from,  my backup.
    I'd be grateful for any ideas.

    Hi Miceal,
    Though I'm not sure, but see if Catalog repair and optimize helps resolve the issue.
    For doing this, click File >> Catalog and selec your catalog and then click "repair' button.
    Tick the checkbox for rebuilding indices in the repair workflow.
    Now perform the optimize operation on the catalog similarly.
    Let me know if that helps.
    Thanks

    Did you bother to override getPreferredSize(), getMinimumSize() and getMaximumSize() to return sizes appropriate for the image you're drawing? If you didn't and you're not adding anything to the JPanel it's just going to act like an empty JPanel.
