Make equalizer backup for Xfi Xtrememusi

Im using Xfi XtremeMusic sound card and i was wondering where and how can i make backup for my settings. I tried with regedit search for something but i cant find something usefull. I also tried serach in install directory but no success.
Id like to have backup file for equalizer and game mode settings, but if it can be done then id like to have backup for all the settings.
TY

Maybe you figured it out already but, IIRC, X-Fi stores some settings data into file named as PCI_BUSXXXX-X-XXXXXXXX-XXXX.dat (where x's are numbers)?
Path for this file is C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Creative\CADI\Preset

  • IMac with OS X 10.5.8, iTunes 10.6.3 - and now i can't make a backup for iPhone 4s

I have bought an Iphone 4S and want to make a backup to get my old dates. But, my iMac has Version 10.5.8 - and doesn't allow me to install iTunes 11.1. which is requestet from the iphone to make the backup. What can I do??

If it's an Intel iMac, upgrade the computer to Mac OS X 10.6.3 and then 10.6.8 and make the backup.
If it's a PowerPC Mac, you can't back the device up to the computer but may be able to back it up to iCloud.

  • Time machine makes 30 backups for the last two days, no backups for any earlier times: is there a way to control it?

I've been running Time Machine in the background for as long as I've owned my current Mac--- a few months.  It is a completely generic set-up: it's a desktop (rarely shut off or asleep) connected to an external hard drive that is much larger (1 TB) than my internal hard drive (0.5 TB), and Time Machine is configured to save backups of my whole internal drive to the external drive.  The external is half-full, and the internal is a little more than half-full.  I often hear my external crunching away, working on something.
I recently needed to access an old file, so I went into Time Machine mode on the folder where it had been deleted a few weeks ago.  While I'm not upset that it isn't available (it's my own fault for deleting it), I didn't expect the Time Machine to have such a bad distribution of saved backups.  There are 30 backup snapshots of the past two days, and nothing earlier.  I was expecting something more like a few from today, a few from this week, a few from this month, and a few going all the way back in time--- a broader distribution.
I don't see any way to control this in the Time Machine Preferences (in fact, very little control at all).  Is there a secret way to control it, or some tip to ensure a more useful distribution of saved snapshots?
    Thanks,
    -- Jim

Thanks, but it doesn't exactly address my question.  TimeMachineEditor allows me to set the intervals or times when backups occur, but it doesn't control the algorithm that decides which snapshots should be deleted.  My problem was that Time Machine chose to delete all of the old snapshots and keep only the most recent ones: I'd like it to keep more of the recent ones than the old ones, but still keep some old ones.
In fact, the (unmodifyable) text on the Time Machine control panel says that it keeps:
hourly backups for the past 24 hours
daily backups for the past month
weekly backups for all previous months
That would be perfect if it were true.
Perhaps the algorithm did the wrong thing because the size of my internal hard drive varied quite a lot a few days ago: a process got out of control and used up all of my internal disk space.  I killed the process and deleted its output (several times), so my internal disk eventually went back down to normal.  Perhaps in the intervening hours, Time Machine made a backup, once an hour, and used up all of the external drive space.  When it had to choose between keeping "weekly backups of previous months" and "hourly backups of the past 24 hours", it chose to keep hourly backups of the past 24 hours.  This was the wrong choice in my case (it was the unwanted output) and is probably the wrong choice in most cases.
Is there a way to control the algorithm that decides which backups to keep and which to delete?  I would have it delete the hourly, daily, and weekly backups in a way that preserves their relative distribution.
By the way, while I have made it sound like my problem was a runaway log file (something that would be easy to put in an excluded directory with Time Machine's "Options" button), it was a VirtualBox snapshot merge.  The data in question are precious, but were unnecessarily copied many times while VirtualBox failed to merge them properly.  I can't simply exclude a directory: I'm talking about a more general problem.
    Thanks!

  • How can i get DD and DTS back?? (for Xfi XtremeMusic, windows vista 64-b

    well, anybody?

    Hi there.
I got DD and DTS working, in Vista 64, by using the X-Fi Dell drivers (as mentioned here elsewhere).
Copy the file : ctac32k.sys from the amd64 folder, inside drivers/wdm/win2k_xp/amd64, to Windows/system32/drivers.
Overwrite the file already there, reboot.
Should now have a 'decoder' tab in the Creative Audio Console.
    Hope that helps.
    ... works great for me.

  • How can i make a backup ?

    hello !!!
i want make a backup for my Macbook pro

The easiest way is usually using a backup software.
With your Mac by default you got the 'Time Machine'. It's a nice software.
As 'clintonfrombirmingham' already meantioned, you should get an external drive to back up, so if something happens to the harddisk (drop the laptop etc.), you can restore it to a different disk.
Having that said, Time Machine is nice and all, but I'd recommomend using 'Carbon Copy Cleaner'.
It does  essentially the same as Time Machine, however the backups you do with CCC are bootable.
Means, in case the harddisk in your laptop dies, you can use the CCC backupon an external disk to boot your MacBook up from.
In general, if it's just for smaller files, not the whole HD, just get a Dropbox.

  • HT1178 i can't connect the time capsule with my mac using the aiport utility. i want to use the time capsule to make backup for my mac book pro. the time capsule is giving a flashed amber light. please advice me

the time capsule is giving flashed amber light and i cant connect it to my mac book pro. i want to use it with the time machine to make backup for my mac. please advice me.

To do the setup, plug it in via ethernet.. do not try to setup over wireless.. Once it is setup you can plug the TC into the network and use wireless.
Most likely you will use the TC in bridge to an existing modem router.. but we cannot help as you have no details of the network setup.
I do recommend in the setup of the TC you use SMB type names.. that means, short, no spaces pure alphanumeric.. as later Mac OS do have issues with long names, spaces and that apple shocker, the apostrophe.

  • How to make a backup of just files for Windows 7 bootable?

I know this is a longshot, but I was wondering if it's possible at all to make backups of a Windows 7 Boot Cam partition, of just the files, bootable in any way so that I can restore it back as a Boot Camp partition? I used Carbon Copy Cloner to backup Boot Camp, then removed the Boot Camp partition, before realizing that the backup that CCC made won't be bootable.
The creator of CCC gave a few suggestions in this thread, which I'll try out, but are there any ideas that I could try? Or is it really supremely difficult that it would be near impossible to make this backup work, and I'd be better off starting from scratch and moving files manually over? The problem wouldn't be moving documents for me, it'd be moving about 100 GB of installed apps.
So, any thoughts? I imagine that this has been asked before in this forum, but strangely could not find any relevant thread for the search queries I was using.

You would have to do a Yahoo/Google search for that. There's a few out there. You might even try the Microsoft forums and see what they use.
They do it a couple of way's it seems, sector by sector or just file level. Bootable backup or just backup. It get's pretty geeky on the instructions so keep reading.
I'm in the same boat, I just haven't done the home work yet (or got the extra drive ).

  • Can't make backup for old phone on computer

    Greetings.
I am in a bit of a pickle.  For some reason, the last iCloud backup I have for my now mostly nonfunctional phone was on 7/8/14.  My itunes back up was even earlier.
My 3GS decided to start rebooting itself over and over again without letting me access anything whatsoever.
I needed a new phone, so I decided to upgrade to a 4S at minimal cost.
Considering the model was old, they let me keep the old phone.
The problem is that I now have data frozen in time on my old phone, conversations and phone records that I would like to keep for posterity from 7/8 until the present day.
I loaded the last backup onto my new phone.
However, my old phone will still be recognized by itunes, with all of its data still intact.  However, when I try to make a backup to iCloud, nothing works.  It won't even back it up to my computer on itunes.
Is there anyway to retroactively backup my phone so that I may load this content, in combination with my recent content onto my recent 4S content onto my new phone?  Have an appointment at the apple store coming up, but I'd like feedback nonetheless.
    Thank you

  • Can I make a backup cd for elements 9

How do I make a backup cd for elements 9, in case my computer crashes?

    >downloaded it
Well, downloading means you saved it "somewhere" on your hard drive... where?
Did you delete the downloaded file(s) after installing?
If you did not, your original download is still "somewhere" on your hard drive
I don't buy large programs by download, so I don't know the size, but you may need to write to a DVD instead of a CD
You also need to buy and USE backup software
Hardware crashes or virus infections happen, so you should buy software to make a full backup of your hard drive to an external USB hard drive... plus making step-by-step backups during a new install or major program addition makes it easy to go back a step if something doesn't work
This backup and then restore is, of course, only to the same computer with a new drive (or the same drive as long as you don't mind writing over everything) since doing a restore to a new computer won't work due to Windows and many programs having activation information that is keyed to your hardware (which is why Windows will force you to RE-Activate if you change very much hardware)
The product I use is at http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/image-for-linux.htm
Image runs off of a bootable CD via Linux (the Zip you download includes a program to make the bootable CD) and it reads EVERYTHING on the drive, even the hidden registration information, so everything is restored when needed... and you may restore the image to a brand new drive in case of a crash, and not have to re-install anything
Please note that I own no part of Image, and I don't get a referral fee (that is just a plain web link) but I use the program and it has saved me a LOT of trouble when I had a hard drive die... and I was able to restore everything and not have to re-install or re-activate a single program, from Windows on up
