Make, Make install - Command not found. How do I get these commands working

Hi guys!
I am trying to compile the php using the command ./configure and make, make install but every time I try to use the comand "make" it says "command not found". Do you know how can I install these bibliotec?

I get a project from my friend, I opened it and built it, then there was an error, spc.h file not found.
Then I double clicked on the file spc.fp , it told me that the spc.fp not found.
I have used everything to search them , but I got nothing
Does someone can help me to get these files?

.fp files are small libraries of functions ("Instruments") normally associated to specific devices (e.g. a scope, a DMM or something similar) or to specific softwares (CVI comes with a set of instruments like the Programmer Toolbox, the Password Control and so on).
spc.fp may relate to Statistical Process Control Toolkit for CVI, a product whose only references on NI site date back to 1998 and is not listed any more among toolkits for CVI.
Can you ask your friend if my hypothesis is correct?
I do not know of any other standard CVI instrument with that acronym: could this .fp be a library of functions your friend wrote by himself?

No you should be fine. (The MobileMe service is being shut down, anyway, so there should be no impact at all.)

I have 10.6.8. When I type "purge" in Terminal I get: -bash: purge: command not found Is there another built-in command to clear memory leaks? I have FreeMemory (works well) and considering FreeMemory Pro, to clear memory periodically, say every 20 minutes, or preferably when a threshold is reached, say when only 100MB is available.

To get purge to work you need to install Xcode from Optional Installs on the 10.6 install DVD. Also be sure you install CHUD Tools with it.
But running purge or anything like it is pointless if within a short period of time the VM just grows back again. Sounds like you need more RAM.
Where are the memory leaks? Just because the VM reaches a certain size doesn't necessarily mean it's from a memory leak.

You can do one of two things, first is to locate the songs on your computer by looking in the iTunes Folder. Once found then drag and drop them on top of iTunes to import them in. The second option is to revert back to a previous version of your iTunes library to get the data back before you installed. The articles below will assist with those steps.

Are Photoshop and OS fully updated and have you performed the usual trouble-shooting routines (trashing prefs by keeping command-alt-shift/ctrl-alt-shift pressed while starting Photoshop, 3rd party plug-ins deactivation, system maintenance, font validation, etc.)?

I have had the same problem. It was cured by turning computer off and/or restarting it. I am not sure if once was enough. I think shutting down must cut out whatever it is that blocks bluetooth. Good luck

After installing Office2011 for Mac, I have lost math/greek fonts. I can get them in 'safe mode' but not regular - how can I get these fonts back?

I installed MS-Office 2011 for Mac, after deleting the old 2004 version. I have hundreds of slides in powerpoint presentations generated over the years, that contain math/greek symbols - these characters have disappeared in powerpoint 2011, replaced by a box with a squiggle in it. These files are OK on a PC, and if I boot up the MBP in 'safe mode' the characters appear in the correct font. How can I get Office 2011 to recognise the correct symbol font in regular mode?

Or are you having problem just to add endnotes or footnotes. Read about it on pages 55-59 in the Pages User Guide. It is downloadable from your Pages Help menu.

How do I get Java Applets working on FF4 Mac?

My website's photo upload applet uses Java to upload, and ever since FF4 beta releases, all the way up to the final, I get a missing plugin error. This error is ONLY on FF, it works on chrome and safari.

PS. I'm downgrading till this is fixed. FF4 is useless to me without this ability. I always liked FF for the better upload ability over Safari and Chrome, so I'd love to be able to use it. :-)

How do I use gnop; this is a fresh Solaris 11 Express install.

I'm not sure if the FreeBSD command 'gnop' is available in Solaris. Is this what you want to accomplish?

Fresh Arch install.
I tried running some commands in startx xterm (e.g., cat, vim), but got this error message:
[user@machine ~]$ cat /etc/wpa_supplicant/wpa_supplicant.conf
bash: $'\302\211cat': command not found
How can I fix this?
wpa_supplicant.conf exists.

A bad PS1 should not create such issues. A bad PS1 can create very odd visual artifacts, but the shell will still get the proper input.
I'm guessing the whole command was copied/pasted from somewhere else (eg a website). Rather than just copying the text, if some formatting was copied, it could easily create such an issue.
If this were due to a PS1 issue, the OP would get such errors with every single command entered in a terminal.

[SOLVED] "ip: command not found" after power failure

Hello,
After a power failure my Arch box has no network connection available. An 'ip addr' command showed me the outrageous error message :
bash: ip: command not found
How could this ever happen ? How do I recover from such an error ?

I wasn't doing any system maintenance when the power failed, just some regular browsing.

or then I get this:

but this is not happening all the time, i remember grep or cat did work once or twice...
What's going on here?

'cat' is stored in /bin/cat, NOT /usr/bin/cat, which explains the file not found messages above.
HOWEVER, the information you have provided seems to imply you have the executables, and previous information provides says you have a valid PATH:
echo $PATH
/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbi n:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/X11/bin
this creates a mystery as to why you are getting:
-bash: cat: command not found
-bash: grep: command not found
I have a couple of thoughts.
a) I'm wondering if you have any 'alias' statements in your .bash_profile (or .bash_login, or .profile, or .bashrc).
b) if you would get the same results should you rename your .bash_profile (and/or .bash_login, .profile, .bashrc) to something like saved.bash_profile, then restart your terminal session (basically eliminating any personalized shell customization).
c) what would happen if you created a new account (System Preferences -> Accounts) - basically a clean starting point.
d) are you executing these commands from the command prompt? Or from within a shell script?
d.1) if from within a shell script, is the script file the correct file format.
file name.shell.script
you want to check that the output from the 'file' command DOES NOT say "...with CRLF line terminators...", as that would imply the the file came from (or through) a Windows system.
