Make Multiclip Sequence glitch in final cut pro 7?

Hi, I'm trying to sync two cameras and audio, all with the appropriate timecodes.
Within final cut pro 7, i select all of my video clips and audio I want to sync, right-click and hit "make multiclip sequence," and the appropriate menu even pops up with the matched up files by their respective timecodes, but often when i create the sequence it will be blank, or contain just random clips of audio towards the end. does anyone know why this happens? very frustrating because it works great sometimes, but frequently i get a blank sequence and end up using plural eyes.
xdcam footage
compressor is xdcam ex 1080p24, files are from an f3 camera that i rewrapped in xdcam transfer before bringing into fcp 7.

Thanks Michael, the problem is definitely the audio (syncing the two video clips by themselves works, it creates a new synced sequence), but I edited the audio in a new sequence and exported it, and when i tried to sync it it didn't work.
the frustrating part is that when i select just the audio and the two video clips (that have audio), the multiclip menu pops up syncing them (so close!) , but when i create a new sequence it's blank! even more frustrating is that this process used to work and no longer does.

  • Render glitches in Final Cut Pro 4.5?

Anyone else having a problem with audio and video glitches in the render files when using Final Cut Pro 4.5? I'm operating on a G5, OS 10.4.1, and 4 gigs of RAM.
    -Patrick-

I recently updated the OS, and I'm running QT 7.0. This just started happening 2 days ago. So I don't think the OS is the issue. Everyone else at work is running 10.4.1 and they don't seem to be having the same issues.

  • How can I make sucesfuly a DVD on Final Cut Pro

Hi I wonder wo can help with this problem

If you have finished a project export it as a quicktime movie...the higher the quality of this movie, the better will be the quality of the DVD you get. I have found out that the codec Pro Ress 4444 gives a high quality of DVD than a movie with a Pro Ress 422 {HQ} codec.
After you have your exported movie, right click upon the file and click the option burn to disc...see the screenshots given below:
    Happy burning!

  • Are microsoft movie maker files compatible with final cut pro files?

I would like to know if microsoft movie maker files are compatible with Final Cut Pro?
    Thanks,
    elemir

depends on how you're outputting. .wmv I don't think so.That's pretty much a dead end format.  mp4 might be, but i'm not sure if movie maker outputs them. .avi might be, depends on the codec used.
Avoid .wmv, apple products don't play well with that format (never have) and aim for some other output type. Then on your mac, if you don't already have it, if you don't already have it, get the free converter mpegstreamclip and see if it can convert your movie maker output into something final cut will input. DV files are good, as are .mov files.

  • Is it possible to export Final Cut Pro X or .MOV to DVD Studio Pro (Final Cut Studio)?

Is it possible to export Final Cut Pro X projects or .MOV to DVD Studio Pro (from Final Cut Studio v.3)? I'm using the free trial of Final Cut Pro X and later acquired a copy of Final Cut Studio (FCP 7, Compressor 3.5, DVD Studio Pro 4, Color 1.5, Motion 4, Soundtrack Pro 2).
I don't like the default DVD export in FCPX, so I would like to do it on DVD Studio Pro. Is it possible to export the project or the final .MOV file to DVD Studio Pro?
Additionally, can I use unfinished FCPX projects on FCP7?
Is it possible to export from FCPX to Compressor 3.5 (Final Cut Studio)?
Feedback would be greatly appreciated. As of this post, I have about 13 days left on my FCPX trial. Or would it just make sense to just use Final Cut Pro 7, since I have a permanent copy of it?
    Thank you.
P.S. Where would be the best place to store projects or any other file related to Final Cut Studio or Final Cut Pro X? My MacBook Pro has 320GB built in storage (only 60GB available), and I have a 1TB external hard drive.
What is best to store on the Macintosh internal hard drive?
What is best to store on the external hard drive?

Yes you can make DVDs in DVDSP using video exported from FCPX.
There are some apps that will translate between X and 7- that said I would highly recommend not going back and forth as the translations are not 1:1 perfect.
I would recommend storing all Events and Projects on the External drive.
Compressor 3.5 will not accept exports directly from FCPX- you'll need Compressor 4 which is $49.
Totally up to you whether you want to make the jump to X. 7 is an EOL'ed program, meaning there will not be another version of that application. Final Cut Pro X is the version being actively developed now.

  • Transforming a video on Final Cut Pro X

I have been shooting short videos on my Iphone 5 and trying to make a short movie on Final Cut Pro X but have come across a roadblock and need help.
I have been shooting the videos vertically rather than horizontally thus my picture is narrow and does not fill the whole screen . I have tried to transform the image but it makes it just a little bigger. If I transform it too much it distorts the image. Is there anything I can do about this to make the image fill the whole screen.

ahh, a severe case of VVS!
    No, for sure:
Although the video I'm linking to is made funny, .. video is horizontal/landscape, not vertical/portrait! Full stop.
    Your options are:
    • teach your audience to rotate their screens by 90°
    • zoom-in 600% - for the price of losing quality AND for sure content
    • or, as this $$ plug-in from pixelfilmstudios does, use the 'common' effect by adding the content 3x on the screen ...
ehm, what is your nic… ? (scnr!!)

I am editing in FCP and trying to use Soundtrack to edit the audio of my mov files. I am sending the audio to Soundtrack as a project. i edit the audio then save the file in Soundtrack but none of the changes I make are showing up in Final Cut Pro. I have Final Cut Studio 6. • Mattes For Final Cut Pro

Hey I would like to know if there are some sort of motion mattes that I could have at a low opacity on during the video. Such things as leaves and vines. Anything like that. And it would be moving around on the sides of the video. Id like to know if its possible for me to make those things already with final cut pro studio or to just find it online at a website. I wish I had a photo to give an example but at the moment I couldn't find one. If you know what I'm talking about then get back to me and help me if possible. Thanks for your time

Nothing premade. Shake has some execellent masking and roto tools, but is really more geared toward footage compositing than it is motion graphics. Motion or After Effects would really be the more sensible choice. (Shake also has a huge learning curve).

  • Exporting Options in Final Cut Pro

At work I can Export a sequence out of final cut pro as a motion jpeg A or use sorensen 3.
At home I have The same version of FCP but do not have those options.
I'm Talking Final Cut Pro 6.
I can export motion jpeg through Quicktime Pro.
    Any Thoughts?

In the QuickTime preferences pane in the System preferences, there should be an option for SHOW LEGACY CODECS. These are legacy codecs I believe

  • Practicing using Final Cut Pro only on iBook via External Drive. Possible?

Before upgrading to a more powerful system I'd like to install FCS2 on an external drive and practice using only Final Cut Pro on my iBook (ok to laugh) My iBook specs: G4, 14", 1.42GHz, 1GB RAM, 10.4.9, 1024x768 display, 60GB. I do not plan on playing around with the other programs that are included in the suite. ie. Motion and Soundtrack pro etc. (They most likely would not work on my lil iBook.) I know in principle you are not supposed to put software on an external drive but I'm wondering if this temporary setup is even viable. I plan on using this set up for a couple months as I make my way through BASIC Final Cut Pro tutorials and to do a small practice run with a 5 minute miniDV project. I need time (about two months) to cobble money together before I upgrade to a more powerful system. Is this even possible? If so, what capacity/brand external drive should I be considering? I will also be using the external drive for media after I upgrade my system. Thanks to everyone. These posts are extremely helpful.
      Mac OS X (10.4.9)
      Mac OS X (10.4.1)

    hi there
you wont be able to install FCP to the external HDD as it wont let you, it has to be installed to the actual HDD in the machine as it uses the core system, core video, core animation, and core sound to work, you can install all the extra content on a ext HDD but not the actual application.
    hope this helps

  • Does Final Cut Pro offer native support for DVCPRO HD 720p25?

I would like to online a DVCPRO HD project on a Final Cut Pro suite with an HD i/o card, but I just wanted to make sure that the latest Final Cut Pro offers support for DVCPRO HD 720p25 before making the jump.

Thanks for the info. I will check if the production company's Blackmagic HD card supports DVCPRO 720p25.
Just for your information, we have offline edited on an Avid MC Adrenaline. We have had the biggest problems ingesting the media since we shot on a Varicam at 25p and the Avid wouldn't accept firewire. So we ended up cutting in 30i. Which now ***** since the online is a pain.
It seems like we will export an EDL per video track from the Avid, then hopefully find a company or a person who will convert our 30fps EDL to 25fps via the software EDLMax24. Then import the EDLs into a Final Cut Pro HD suite with a Blackmagic HD card via HD-SDI, and online from the HD AJ-1400 deck. And hopefully that will work.
The only outstanding thing is to find someone with EDLMAX24 since it retails at 600USD.

  • I have Final cut Pro HD sequence and I need to burn this on a DVD

I have Final cut Pro HD sequence and I need to burn this on a DVD, my sequence lasts 1 hr and 33 minutes. What are my options? Is it better to export as a Quick Time movie or using the compressor? I'm new to the compressor just learning, please help.

Select your sequence in the browser window, go to the File menu and choose Export Using Compressor.
When compressor opens, choose the DVD best quality settings, 120 minutes.
For audio and video both, choose both the m2v video and the AC3 audio. (Dolby Professional)
Choose a destination for your files, and hit submit.
When it's finished, import these files into your DVD SP project, and make your DVD.
Be sure to choose the 16:9 anamorphic settings.

  • How do I make a pic in final cut Pro stop  flickering?

how do I make a pic in final cut Pro stop  flickering?

Question: how do I make a pic in final cut Pro stop  flickering?
Answer: It depends on what is causing the flickering.  It could be due to the pixel dimensions being too large for the Sequence settings in FCP.  It could be due to thin horizontal lines in the image.  It could be due to areas of the image in high contrast with each other.   Or it could be due to a combination of several factors.
If the image is too large, reduce the pixel dimensions to a more reasonable size.
If it's due to thin horizontal lines, deinterlace the image, or slightly blur the lines in Photoshop.
If it's due to areas of high contrrast, reduce the contrast of those areas in Photoshop.
In FCP you can also try applying the Flicker filter to the image in the Timeline and/or a Gaussian blur filter with a setting of around 0.2 or 0.3

  • Visual Glitches in 720p HD Exported Footage on Final Cut Pro

    Hi...
I'm working with Final Cut Pro, on a brand new Mac Book Pro. My footage has come from a Kodak Zi8 video Camera. It was shot at 720p, and the format is MOV.
I've cut up all my footage into a nice little video diary, with simple cross dissolves, and a few text overlays. Nothing fancy. But when I export it, my final file has a ton of visual glitches throughout the length of the video. A lot of the transitions it freezes on and then comes in after.
I'm exported as a self-contained MOV file. I've never had this problem with SD footage. Am I doing something wrong? Help please.

ok... How would i go about converting the footage, considering that the footage comes off the camera in it's raw state in that format. What program should I use... and what difference would it make.
My editing process ran smoothly... it was when I exported the file that I noticed the glitches.
I always export as a high quality quicktime format. Until I clicked the "recompress all frames" option, it wasn't rendering the transitions and text overlays correctly.
The final result looks great now... for a cheap "HD" non 3 CCD camera. See it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4rNajjeURM
I have a Panansonic HVX, with a P2 card that I could shoot and edit at 1080i, but for simple video diaries, I need a quick solution for editing this footage. And imovie doesn't give me the versatility that FCP does.
