Make positive vertical position change = UP when moving object? CS6

When moving an object, entering a positive value for vertical position sends objects DOWN. How do I reverse this such that entering a positive value will move objects UP?Thanks.

What about the suggestion in the first post in this thread, Reasoner?
http://forums.adobe.com/message/3859580#3859580?tstart=30#3859580
It is more work than using a script (was linked to in post #4 in the other thread).
We may have to ask Carlos to make a new script that works in CS6 (and in CS7 and CS8 and so on).
Carlos, what say you?

  • Crash when moving objects...

    I have a HUGE problem... in fact I have had lots of problems with Illustrator... but this is anoying.
    At least 10 times a day the program just crashes when moving objects... some time text, some time pictures, sometime lines.
    Every time i submit a CRASH report with the details... but really I think they are TRASH reports, I mean I have NEVER get an answer, update or ANYTHING from ADOBE.
    Last week I almost lost my job because of the ineficiency of the program, the thing is that I used to work with Corel and I was the one who tooked the desicion to change to Illustrator, so I spend the money on an entire suite,GOD!!
    My question is simple, it may sound bad, but honestly Can I get my money back? Does anyone have heard about someone getting just so frustrated with the suite like me?
    I love PS, I work just fine with DW, but Illustrator and Adobe support is killing me and leaving me without job.

    619-671-0100 x 273 my phone, just in case that a miracle occurs and someone from Adobe can help me.!!!

    Ok, here I am after the crash number 8 of today, one more time moving objects in a document...
    Answering your question about the system I have... here it is.
    The system...
    Intel(R) Core(TM) Dual Quad CPU
    Q8300 @ 2.50 Ghz.
    4 Gb RAM
    Running on
    Microsoft Windows XP

    Version 2003
    Service Pack 2
    Video Card
    NVIDIA GeForce 8400 GS
    The program
    Adobe Illustrator CS4 out of a box with Creative Web Suite.
    And the info out of illustrator menu>System Info is as follows.

  • Delayed response of when moving objects in diagram and panel, happend in LV 6, only for vi's compiled from previous versions. any suggestions?

    When I using the mouse to select portion of the diagram or the panel, or when I moving objects- I found that in all the vi's that I compiled from former versions of labview- there is a delay of close to a second to the actual selection or movement of the item. This happens in 2 machines out of 5 that I tested it, and it happened both in windows 2000 and in windows 98. any suggestions?

    Sometimes a video driver issue. Update your video driver.
    Or turn down the video driver hardware acceleration. Right-click an
    empty area of the desktop, choose the Settings tab, choose the Advanced
    button.
    The location of this differs in different versions of Windows.
    Win2000: go to Troubleshooting, and turn down the slider for hardware
    acceleration.
    Win98: I think it's on another tab.

  • Help please, spacific file update only changed files when moved

    I record live bands and file size can be very large when i make changes to files i want to save time and resources by only updating what has changed without replacing the whole file. when moving files from desktop to external drive.
    say i have a file named "jam" that i add files to on my external drive then i copy it to my internal drive, do some edditing and add some files. when i move it back to external drive i want to update the "jam" file add the new files and changed files without having to keep track of the changed files and not transfer the files that havent changed. can anyone help?

    Only files and folders below directory "/emmc" will show up in windows explorer.
    You will also not be able to edit (add/delete) files to the /system/media/audio/notifications folder (or just about any folder above /emmc) . This is because you do not have administrator access (for lack of a better term) to the phone.
    So, if it's that important to you, you'll have to find a way to tell the phone you're an administrator
    Windows Explorer correctly identifies these as two separate drives. There is, after all, a built in drive as well as the swappable SDcard.
    Sorry I can't be of more help.

  • Marquee "ghosts" when moved in CS6

    Basically this happpens in CS6 when using the Marquee tool and moving the marquee with the arrow keys or dragging inside the marquee. Does not repeat in CS4.
    About the  only way to make it go away is to reduce cache levels in Preferences > Performance to 1 which is a problem in itself. Refreshing the screen (toggling the Tab key) makes the ghost marks go away but they reappear when moving the marquee. Changing Tile Size does not do anything.
    My graphics card is integrated,so aside from buying a new laptop,my options are limited.
    Maybe a Adobe employee can look at it and see if they can do anything from their side or
    suggest a prefs adjustment.

    If it helps further with understanding, at one point in the development of my OpenGL-based plug-ins I found that the (perfectly good and well-documented) approach I had in the software for managing the OpenGL context was completely impossible to use with Intel's display driver (as it turns out I was testing on a 965 GMA in a Macbook).  I had to restructure the software to manage the context in one and only one thread, which we had thought early on we may have to do, and so structured the software to make it possible.  I did get the software working, but I received several complaints of display failures from Intel users during beta testing.  Like Photoshop, we also have a "software rendering" setting that uses the CPU only, and that's what those users ended up having to use.
    As Intel has been progressing with GPU development - even to to the point of now providing integrated GPUs in their newer processor chips - I do hope they've cleaned up their software.  But I don't think that will help people like you much, since between Intel and the laptop makers, they don't seem to be supporting the older existing hardware very well.

  • PSE9-some pix change orientation when moved to premiere elements

    When I create a slide show in PSE9 and try to create a DVD in Premiere Elements 9 some of the pictures (just a few) invariably wind up sideways- i.e. 90 degrees from where they appear in PSE9. This happens for both horizontal and vertical pictures. How can i prevent or corrrect this?

    Not sure why this is happening unless you are not using camera EXIF data to determine orientation. But you can correct.
    When you output to PRE your project opens as a single item in the Sceneline.
    Right click on the project in the Sceneline and choose “Break Open PSE Slideshow”
    You can then highlight an individual frame so that it appears in the main window. Click on the main window to get the bounding box and you can drag the corner handles to rotate into the correct position.

  • IE11 in Windows 8.1 changes scale when moving window between screens

    Hi,
    I'm using Windows 8.1 with IE11 on a Dell Latitude E6510 with an external LG screen. I use both screens in my daily work and when I move a IE11 window from the internal screen in my laptop to the external LG screen, the scaling in IE11 changes and gets smaller.
    It happens when the windows is halfway over to the external screen. On the way back it changes again and gets bigger. I've use the "One scaling for all my screens" in the Control Panel|Display applet without success. It's only IE11 that has this
    behaviour, no other programs does this.
    Brgds Jonas

    Hi Brgds Jonas,
    I agree with  Robert Aldwinckle .
    In addition, Windows 8.1 definitely seems to be doing some automatic display scaling here, as has been rumored based on beta builds of the OS.
    The first option is for multiple monitors with different ppi. windows will choose for you based on what the ppi is. use trial and error until you get the size you want and both monitors will be about that size. if they are close in ppi it will not scale
    them differently because I am pretty sure it only chooses from the default scaling sizes.
    For more reference, you may refer to:
    Windows 8.1 DPI Scaling Enhancements

  • How do I stop my audio from changing pitch when moving it to another track?

    I read up a bit on the "Flex" settings, however, I can't seem to turn it completely off. The flex button is not engaged, however, when I move audio from one track to another, the pitch changes. How do I stop this completely?

    You have to disable it on the tracks themselves too. The 'main' flex button only turns on and off Flex view, and not flex itself.
    Flex view on, track flexed
    Flex view off, track flexed (or not?)
    Flex view on, track not flexed

I tried the following code  for getting a ball moving moving right to change to up.
    note: movingDir is just a string i use to keep track of how the ball is moving and is defined initially in another class.
    here is a snippet from the ball class:
    this._movingDir = "right";
    this._speedR = 5;
    this.x += this._speedR;
    public function hittingRebounder(e:Event):void {
                for(var c:uint = 0; c < Ball.ballsArray.length; c++){
                    if(Ball.ballsArray[c].hitTestPoint(this.x, this.y)){
                        if(Ball.ballsArray[c]._movingDir == "right"){
                            trace("right");
                            upMoving.push(Ball.ballsArray[c]);
                            Ball.ballsArray[c].addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, greenPo****U);
                        else if(Ball.ballsArray[c]._movingDir == "left"){
                            trace("left");
                        else if(Ball.ballsArray[c]._movingDir == "up"){
                            trace("up");
                        else if(Ball.ballsArray[c]._movingDir == "down"){
                            trace("down");
    public function greenPo****U(e:Event):void {
                for(var g:uint = 0; g < upMoving.length; g++){
                    upMoving[g]._movingDir = "up"
                    upMoving[g]._speedR = 0;
                    upMoving[g]._speedU = 5;
                    upMoving[g].y -= upMoving[g]._speedU;
    Help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

    I see what your saying. I modified my ball class to allow this. I made the balls move in four directions rather than two. Now im getting no movement though when I do the hitTestPoint.
    Here is my ball class:
    package  {
         import flash.display.MovieClip;
         import flash.events.Event;
         public class Ball extends MovieClip {
              public var _startX:uint;
              public var _startY:uint;
              public var _movingDir:String;
              public var _speedU:uint;
              public var _speedD:uint;
              public var _speedL:uint;
              public var _speedR:uint;
              public static var ballsArray:Array = [];
              public function Ball() {
                   // constructor code
                   ballsArray.push(this);
                   this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, ballMove);
                   this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, ballStop);
                   this._startX = this.x;
                   this._startY = this.y;
              public function ballMove(e:Event):void {
                   if(Start.isStartPressed == true){
                        if(_startX < 40){
                             this._movingDir = "right";
                             this._speedU = 0;
                             this._speedD = 0;
                             this._speedL = 0;
                             this._speedR = 5;
                             this.y -= this._speedU;
                             this.y += this._speedD;
                             this.x -= this._speedL;
                             this.x += this._speedR;
                        else if(_startX > 280){
                             this._movingDir = "left";
                             this._speedU = 0;
                             this._speedD = 0;
                             this._speedL = 5;
                             this._speedR = 0;
                             this.y -= this._speedU;
                             this.y += this._speedD;
                             this.x -= this._speedL;
                             this.x += this._speedR;
                        else if(_startY < 40){
                             this._movingDir = "down";
                             this._speedU = 0;
                             this._speedD = 5;
                             this._speedL = 0;
                             this._speedR = 0;
                             this.y -= this._speedU;
                             this.y += this._speedD;
                             this.x -= this._speedL;
                             this.x += this._speedR;
                        else if(_startY > 280){
                             this._movingDir = "up";
                             this._speedU = 5;
                             this._speedD = 0;
                             this._speedL = 0;
                             this._speedR = 0;
                             this.y -= this._speedU;
                             this.y += this._speedD;
                             this.x -= this._speedL;
                             this.x += this._speedR;
              public function ballStop(e:Event):void {
                   if(Start.isStartPressed == false){
                        this.x = _startX;
                        this.y = _startY;
    and here is my other class which detects the hitTestPoint:
    package  {
         import flash.events.Event;
         import flash.display.MovieClip;
         public class PosRebounder extends MovieClip{
              public static var isRebounderHit:Boolean = false;
              public function PosRebounder() {
                   // constructor code
                   this.addEventListener(Event.ENTER_FRAME, hittingRebounderElect);
              public function hittingRebounderElect(e:Event):void {
                         if(Ball.ballsArray[0].hitTestPoint(this.x, this.y)){
                             if(Ball.ballsArray[0]._movingDir == "right"){
                                 trace("right");
                                 Ball.ballsArray[0]._speedU = 5;
                                 Ball.ballsArray[0]._speedD = 0;
                        Ball.ballsArray[0]._speedL = 0;
                                 Ball.ballsArray[0]._speedR = 0;
                        Ball.ballsArray[0]._movingDir = "up";
                             else if(Ball.ballsArray[0]._movingDir == "left"){
                                 trace("left");
                             else if(Ball.ballsArray[0]._movingDir == "up"){
                                 trace("up");
                             else if(Ball.ballsArray[0]._movingDir == "down"){
                                 trace("down");
    So in my ball class i have to check if the start button is pressed to make them move:
    if(Start.isStartPressed == true)
    When it is not pressed (stop is pressed) and they have to return to their original position and not be moving.
    I also have in the ball class to check where they start on the stage and depending on where they start, they move a certain way.
    if(_startX < 40){
    //stuff
    I think thats my problem now. because that is always true so it will always move right. _startX starts at 20 and 20 is always < 40. Now I'm not too sure how to get around this. Thanks for all the help Ned.

  • Please hide original when moving object

    When you select an object and move it, the object stays there and you drag, instead, a blue wireframe, or in the case of Text, a blue, ghosted copy of the text.
    Am I the only one who thinks this is just clutter?
    It's bad enough the original object doesn't come along for the ride when you are in the act of moving it.
    I constantly have difficulty seeing what I'm doing by having 2 copies of the same thing, in aroundabout the same space. Especially when I'm tweaking a position.
    Is there some conspiracy to make using Illustrator a headache?
    I can't even be sympathetic because I have no clue why it works this way.
    Would anyone care for a preference to have the original object temporarily vanish while moving it, keeping just the blue outline?
    Hell, it's gotta go anyway; when you release the mouse it poofs from it's original spot and pops in the new one.

    Is pressed
    By the way same thng hapenning to bridge when previewing videos. after click start the preview image is gone, stop the playback the image come back and that happen over and over, why? A video code with a problem or something in thos softwares? I have the latest version updated for both programs.
    I was reading that after effects renders on the cpu, but I have a Core i7 3770k ivy bridge and 12Gb ram. So I don't understand!

  • Artifacts when moving object with arrow keys.

    Hi all
    hope this is the right place to post this question.
    I want to to write simple arkanoid game in Flash (AC3). I've managed to write code that  moves my paddle with arrow keys. The code looks like this:
    function OnNewFrame(event:Event):void
        if (input.IsLeftHeld)
            if (paddle.x > 0)
                paddle.x -= 10;
        else
        if (input.IsRightHeld)
            if (paddle.x < stage.stageWidth - paddle.width)
                paddle.x += 10;
    It works but the result is ugly. The animation is not fluent, there are times when paddle stops for a moment . Also when speed of translation is high (here it is 10) you can see that paddle is flickering at the ends, it looks like single buffering problem. You can see both of those effects here:  http://www.flash-game-design.com/flash-tutorials/movOb.html , hovewer flickering is less visible due to small translation amount.
    How to fix this? How can i enable double buffering (or maybe it is enabled by default)?  Any help will be appreciated.
    P.S. sorry for bad english

    Thanks for samples, this is very kind ; p
    Hovewer you are doing everything almost exactly as I'am doing. Tou are using mySymbol.x++ which means your translation speed is 1. Also I'am aware that rising frame rate will result in smoother animations, but this is not the point. So once again, my flash applications suffer from two problems:
    1) Animations are not smooth. You can see this crealrly in here: http://www.kirupa.com/developer/actionscript/hittest.htm  , go back to the very bottom of the page, there is an animation window, look at the smallest circle. It looks like its blinking.
    2) Moving symbols with arrow keys with the method i've presnted in the first post (the same method that infeter uses ). Moved symbol is randomly stopping for the very (very very) short amount of time. You can easily spot this in infeter sample.
    Many sample applications i've seen suffer from those issues. and nobody seems to see the problem, so maybe I am delusional? ; p
    cheers and thank for help

  • Illustrator crashes when moving objects in live paint group

    A little help here...
    Illustrator CC keeps crashing whenever I try to move a path or an object in a live paint group. I've tried it on other computers, but they seem to work fine. It seemed to only affect my laptop, so I'm not sure what happened. Restarting and updating it doesn't seem to solve the problem.
    Here are the technical specifications for my Macbook Pro:
    Mid-2009 Macbook Pro 15"
    2.8 GHz model w/ SD card slot
    Intel Core 2 Duo
    Has Mavericks
    4 GB of RAM
    Please help!!! My project is due the next week!
    Thanks,
    Michelle

    I think I know the solution to the problem (for me anyway)!
    I have been plagued by this CC problem for months with Illustrator, In Design and Photoshop. I even bought a new machine because of the stress it caused me, and not to mention the lost work hours!!!! But since buying the new machine and having it happen again, and again and again, I have ruled out all font, software, plugin conflicts - because there is nothing on my machine that was on the old one. All of my old files are on an external hard drive and I have had Illustrator CC crash several times with the hard drive ejected.  This is what leads me to think (in my case at least) that the machine/files/plugins are not the problem. Here's what has worked for me, and where I think my problem stems from:
    CC membership allows you to run the Adobe applications on 2 machines, in most people's cases that's home and office. I have two machines; one for work with one set of preferences that my CC account was made with, and another machine at home that is shared and has an entirely different set of preferences.
    When an Illustrator file is left open on my work machine (the machine that the CC account was created on) with a long period of inactivity (e.g. over a weekend) Illustrator CC on my home machine crashes constantly (as soon as I try to move an object it crashes). As soon as Illustrator CC is closed down on my work machine, Illustrator CC on my home machine is then fine! And then both machines will the run Illustrator CC again simultaneously until the work machine is left for another long period of inactivity (a couple of days). Then, when it is, my home machine crashes again.
    I also noticed that each time Illustrator CC asked me to send a crash report from my home machine to Adobe it would pull the email from the preferences on my home machine, not the email that the CC account was made with (which is the email on my work machine). It could be that leaving Illustrator CC/any of the CC apps open and inactive for a couple of days causes some kind of 'time out' period on the account.
    This could explain why Illustrator CC would work again on my home machine (briefly) when trashing the account preferences.
    So to re-cap I have solved my seemingly inexplicable problem by making sure that Illustrator CC is not left open for long periods of inactivity (2 days seems to be the threshold) on one machine, if the account is being shared across two machines.
    Please let me know if this A. makes sense and B. helps anyone.

  • CC Illustrator and InDesign crashing when moving objects

    This problem began a week ago out of nowhere. I didn't install anything new or update anything that would cause any sort of conflict (as far as I know). I've tried suggestions in other posts such as trashing prefs, reinstalling, signing out of CC, moving folder, unplugging mouse, etc. I previously had CS6 installed and it was happening in those versions too.
    I reformatted my entire computer to see if that fixed the issue, and the first thing I reinstalled was CC to ensure there wasn't anything else causing a conflict, but it is still crashing.
    I'm running on a late 2013 15" MBP
    Processor: 2.3GHz i7
    Memory: 16 GB
    Graphics: Iris Pro/NVIDIA GeForce GT 750m
    OS: OS X 10.9.5
    Crash log: Process: Adobe InDesign CC 2014 [775] Path: /Applications/Ad - Pastebin.com

    Hi bodeintern,
    You can try these steps:
    1     Try disabling the printers (If connected Wired or wireless)
    2     Try making the Plugins folder as Plugins old in Application folder and then try to launch. If it works try to isolate the issue by moving a few plugins and then reload.
    3     Try enabling the root user account and then try.
    Enabling and using the "root" user in Mac OS X
    4     Make sure Verdana and Tahoma fonts should be enabled.
    Thanks,

  • Mesh like pattern - pixelation - when moving objects on new MBP i7 15"

    i call your attention to this archived thread from a while back regarding screen pixelation on MBP. just got 2.80ghz i7 15" and have the exact same problem as posted here
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=10489770
    anyone have similar issues, is this just the way the screens are now? my previous MBP (less than 2 years old) did not have same problem.
    basically, whenever an object is moved around on the screen, you can clearly see a change in resolution with more pronounced/visible pixels.
    thoughts?

    this is the first page of the previous thread - the one i meant to link to

  • How can I smooth keyframes when moving objects onscreen?

    This "effect handle" nomenclature is what we're using now, I guess. But if we can't move an object onscreen without slamming it around like a rider on a bull, that's ridiculous. The keyframe smoothing functionality must be there somewhere. Where is it?

    on the timeline there is a little tab on top of your clips where you can view all of the animation properties of that clip. If you right click between the two keyframes you will get an interpolation box that you can chose from.
