Make some text popup when hovered over a link

On this page:
http://www.valentines-day-flowers-by-schaefers.com/valentines-day-flowers/roses.html
my client wants a small paragraph of text to "popup" when
mouse goes over the Nationwide and Local text at the bottom of each
product area.
What would I use for this? CSS somehow? Java? Has anyone seen
a Behavior or Extension for something like this?

Google "overlib".

  • Hyperlink text highlight when hovering over

Is there a way to create text highlight effect when hovering over hyperlinks in interactive pdf's created in InDesign6 ?

You have text wrap applied to the image underneath. Right click the text frame and choose text frame properties and enable ignore text wrap.

  • Safari pop up flag when hovering over a link on a page

Is there ANY way to get back the ability to hover over a link on a web page and see the pop-up flag showing the underlying link?  Mail does it and practically every other program on the Mac.  This is a tremendous anti-fraud feature, especially when viewing a web-based e-mail page.

I found the answer on another site.  Just go to view and select Show Status Bar.  The address will be at the bottom, in the Status bar.  OR you can lft-click and hold over the link, then slide off the link and the address will be displayed as a flag.

  • URL 'Tool tip' when hovering over a link

Is it possible to get rid of these? Some of the links that iWeb generates are quite cryptic, long and make no sense at all. I would like to just turn these off completely. Is this possible?

There's no way to "turn these off" so to speak within iWeb directly. You'd have to go into the published HTML code for our pages and edit out the 'title' tags within the 'href' statements. Take a look at this example...
    <-a href="http://bondiblue.dirtdoog.com/mantis/" title="Putt-Putt's Favorite Pet Praying Mantis"->
This is what a typical hyperlink looks like in the HTML code (I've used the two dashes "-" to keep the code from being interpreted in this post. The URL that you see is the actual URL that the hyperlink leads to. The title tag defines what shows up in any "tooltips" that you might see or what shows up in the status bar at the bottom of the browser window. Most hyperlinks formed by iWeb, though, will have the target URL as the title as well, so it would look like this...
    <-a href="http://bondiblue.dirtdoog.com/mantis/" title="http://bondiblue.dirtdoog.com/mantis/"->
And here is what the real hyperlink would look like... Hover over it and see what it says in the browser status bar and tooltip....
    http://bondiblue.dirtdoog.com/mantis/
So you can see how you can edit these title tags for your hyperlinks to say whatever you like. Hopefully, you can also see what an arduous task this might be! This is especially true when you consider that iWeb will overwrite any changes you make to the published HTML code the next time you update the involved pages! Take this into consideration when you are contemplating this kind of editing...

  • The tooltip pop up when hovering over a link gets in my way if something is at the very bottom lower corner of a page...

.and I don't want to upgrade FF to what might be a beta version to get this status4eva addon!
I prefer to keep my status bar visible as I have a weather addon and like to see up to the minute info on the temperature outside and I use foxclocks to keep track of timezones where online friends live.
Now for what I'm talking about:
For example, I'll go to Livejournal and some layouts have the "previous/next" link in the lower left(your left if you face the screen) corner where the tooltip pops up. Well, the pointer will spaz between becoming the pointer finger and an arrow, and the link becomes impossible to click. I can get around it by opening a new tab, but this is really annoying to have to open and close tabs constantly. I REALLY think the tooltip should just pop up across the status bar area itself if at all, because it seriously gets in my way.
Yes, I am aware it will move to the right if it's still there when a page is loading and you move the mouse pointer down there. However, this is not the case if a page isn't loading and you're trying to click that "next" link at the bottom of a page.
This is VERY annoying. Please look into it when upgrading FF further.

A possible workaround could be to have the horizontal scroll bar visible all the time.

  • Graphics that appear when hovering over menu buttons

    Hello,
I use to create menus in DVDSP 1 that would allow me to associate a picture with menu text.
I would like to do that now, and have the picture show up when the button is either hovered over or selected. This would be in addition to the text changing colors when hovered over.
    Thanks.

Just to take Aldershot's suggestion a tad further...
You can do this in several ways - firstly, you can use a Photoshop layer based menu, but there are good reasons not to do that. However, if you need full colour and have a complex design this might be your only choice.
Secondly, you can use an overlay menu and mask off areas of the background with the overlay shapes. Setting the opacity to 0% for the selected and activated states will reveal what is under the overlay shape - you can have the graphic set into the background and achieve what you want.
Finally, you need to remember that the overlay pictures can only hold four colours so to reveal an image by setting it in to the overlay is not going to be very good overall.
There is more about this here:

  • Yellow Box when hovering over links

    Hi All,
I have read a few discussions surrounding the 'yellow box' that appears when hovering over links in safari. Last I read some time ago revealed this is an intergrated 'feature' of safari. Is this still the case?? Or have enough users complained to have this 'feature' squashed (fingers crossed.....)
    Thanks

You may keep your fingers crossed.  Hovering produces the yellow information box.
    Ciao.

  • How to eliminate extra white when hovering over with a back ground color?

I just finished my menu and I notice that the hovering color is not hiding all the white.  Does someone know how to eliminate extra white when hovering over with a back ground color?
    http://www.tammyfarringtoncreative.com/test/index.html
    Thanks!

You have heights on the ul, li as 36px and a line-height of the text of 35px so they are not matching up.  Personally speaking I would normally recommend using padding on the links to create the height and not set the height on the ul or li elements.

  • Tooltip when hovering over tabs

I find that the tooltip which appears when hovering over a tab gets in the way of my workflow sometimes. For example, I'm unable to quickly access options on the Application or Options bars when it's present. This generally seems to be the case when I've got the tabs snapped to the Application Frame. Is it possible to turn the tooltips for the tabs off?

Thanks, I do see the "Show Tool Tips" option but I was hoping there might be some way to avoid turning off all the tool tips (I rely on them every now and then when I need a reminder of what an option or tool is for). I can probably just deal with it since it's a small nuisance. It's mostly an issue with moving the cursor horizontally out of the tooltip and that tooltip not disappearing immediately.
    Vid of tooltip behavior
    http://s87.photobucket.com/albums/k156/darthsauce/mac/?action=view&current=tooltip.flv
Please note: I'm purposely stopping on the tab in the video to force it to show. Most of the time I've just inadvertently paused on the tab while on my way to access an option on one of the bars.

  • I use QVC online a lot. When hovering over a catagory headings at the top of the page, a drop down menu shows a list of subcategories. Is this feature available in Firefox 4 & 5? If so, how do I turn it on?

I use QVC online a lot. When hovering over a category heading in IE9 a drop down menu appears with detailed subheadings for that category. Is this feature available in Firefox versions 4 and 5? Is this something that can be turned on in Firefox 4 & 5? If so, how do I turn this feature on?

    Hey Dave,
How did you get on with this?
Have you tried CSS position:fixed?  I have been playign around with it on my own project  (and in fact are just about to post a related question)  and can confirm that it works with a plain old DIV.
SVG I can't be sure though..
    Certainly give it a try.
    Cheers

  • Yellow pop up box when hovering over links missing in CC?

The behavior when hovering over links in the Links Panel in CS6 was a yellow pop up box with the full path of the link displayed.
I find that is not the behavior in CC and I am really missing that.
Have I missed a setting somewhere to enable this in CC?

    That was it.
Tool tips was not enabled. Enabling it brings back the yellow box. Didn't really think of that as a tool tip.
    Thanks

  • How do I change the color of the highlight when hovering over answers in the quiz?

    Hi
I am trying to change the color of the highlight when hovering over answers in the quiz.  My companies standard font color is grey and so is the highlight when i hover answers.
Is it possible to change this?
    Thanks
    Charlene

No, it is (still) not possible to change that hover color, not even in CP8.0.1. I recommend to enter a feature request: Adobe - Feature Request/Bug Report Form
